I was never a fan of Rhino. But he gave a great promo last night on Impact. It was full of passion and emotion. It was the kind of passion and emotion that a fed trying to compete with the WWE needs in it's top guys. It was the kind of passion and emotion that TNA needs in it's Champion. Here's hoping that Rhino and Samoa Joe will be feuding over the NWA Heavyweight Championship in the near future!

I have to disagree. the way he delivered the promo is fine. But another five minutes spent bashing the WWE? is that really what TNA needs? It makes the people on their roster sound like jokes when they spend SO much time talking about how the WWE" mistreated" them. It makes them look second-rate and pathetic.
If the only way the writers can think to ge ttheir guys over is to have them go out an bash the E, then they're in trouble.

I agree that there is not much to be gained in trashing WWE or the new ECW. It was how Rhino delivered the promo that impressed me. If he can keep up that kind of intensity and passion, he could be one of the guys to build TNA around.

I agree on all accounts. We have heard enough about how WWE mistreated BG, Kip, Team 3D, Rhino etc. etc. etc. but Rhino had tons of intensity during that promo. That is the kind of emotion that gets people behind a wrestler. He needs to keep that up.

I thought the Rhino thing was laaaaaame. He bashes WWE, claims TNA is where he wants to be, but can't get over something. oh yeah, he's really mad cause he's lying and he wishes he was in the big fed. Otherwise there'd be nothing to be mad about if he's happy where he is.

As I said, I defeinitely agree that he did a great job dleivering the promo, but the topic is tired. and having Rhino and the Dudleys spending time bashing the new ECW comes off as weak, especially when the show they're bashing is doubling them up in ratings.
Big question: why didn't Rhino get this kind of TV time and deliver these kinds of promos during his run with the TNA Title? That's right...they gave it back to JJ a week after he won it.

It's also unwise for some to burn bridges when it's possible TNA won't be around to see the end of their careers.

Otherwise there'd be nothing to be mad about if he's happy where he is. This I believe is coming from a "live and let live", "move forward", and/or "forgive and/or forget" mentality...All are admirable, but I think they may be a bit lost on a guy like Rhino... He says WWE treated him like crap and he's the type of guy that holds grudges...I don't think it's "Man I wish they didn't fire me." as much as "F*** WWE, they treated me like S*** and I'm going to tell everyone how P***** off I am!!!" The fact that it may ultimately hurt the company (which will fall on management for letting him say it), or that people may disagree/not care are secondary considerations...

LWPD (Rhyno was given a very fair opportunity to succeed in WWE and in the end failed to be an asset even in a utility role...he even had his rehab fully paid for by the company and was given very generous paid recovery time...when he came back he never connected with the crowd...never 'made back' the money the company had invested in him through his downside and medical expenses... and further topped things off with publicly embarrass WWE by making a fool of himself in an incident where he threatened his wife and destroyed hotel property...the only person he should be angry with...is himself...for blowing his spot in the big leagues)

Honestly, I think management told him to go out there this time.
He did a very similar promo at the Philadelphia show. And it was well-received by the TNA fans, so they probably asked him to vent some more. And it has worked for other companies before (heck, ECW took repeated shots at WCW) but this feels like too much because its several guys on the roster doing it all at once.

Yes...I mentioned 3 weeks ago that I noticed it was becoming far too frequent...I don't approve of Rhino's rant, regardless of the passion and intensity behind it, because I believe ultimately it WILL be hurtful for the company...I'm sure many will find it an entertaining segment, and it may be good for Rhino to actually show his passion and intensity and maybe even get that added umph to make it back to the top of TNA....But as I said before, TNA needs to stop picking a fight with the big dog...
Let the sleeping dragon lie, because right now, TNA is a 98 lb weakling soaked in gasoline jabbing at it with a match...

Rhino is a Bore,Bore, Bore!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Rhino is just upset that his and Taz's plan to dominate the midget division never panned out.
But anyway, I read all over tha internet about how big a deal Rhino's promo was but I though it was a big steaming pile. Just because someone yells something does not make it seem more heartfelt. Rhino has yelled every promo he's had from ECW to WWE to TNA and each one has been a Bore, Bore Bore!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I just hope they don't try to use this as a means to push this bland over hyped turd.
Promote Joe, AJ, Daniels, heck even Shelley, and lose this piece of garbage and see him try to get a real job.

I've always been a Rhino fan, mostly because he's a hometown boy and I used to watch him every month at the Lincoln Park (MI) Community Center putting on some really good performances. Not that I have a great eye for talent, but he was one of those guys who just looked like he'd make it.
The funniest part is that at the time he was going by the name Rhino Richards, and the fans would chant "Chyna!" at him, which really pissed him off. And honestly, pre jaw reconstruction, Chyna and he did look a bit alike.
Anyhow, now that I'm done reminiscing, I hate that Rhyno never caught on big time in the WWE. He seemed like such a solid performer, and I hated to see him leave. I don't know that this angle will help him or TNA in the long run, but I hope to someday see Rhyno make the impact in the business that I think he can.
And yes, he's badmouthing Vince but I think we've all seen Vince rebuild some bridges we never thought he would if he thinks there is some money to be made.

Rhino dilivered a great promo and had the crowd louder then Ive ever heard it on aTNA show before. But i thought him binning the ECW titles was a slap in the face to Heyman and all the guys who wore those belts in the past. The guy worked for the ocmpany for like 2 years and at the end was only wearing both belts because RVD was gone. TNA and Rhino took a huge dump all over the ECW's legacy when they did that and I was personally offended whan I watched it happen.
TNA and its fans wish so bad that they were ECW..but there will never be another ECW. Im tired of the WWE/ECW bashing. and TNA has me on the verge of not watching after what they did to the ECW belts.
I hope Heymen come sout on Tuesday and addresses what happened on IMpact.
And I can hear the chants for RVD vs. Rhino in my head already.

Everyone who was looking for the old ECW is delusional and should get some help. You all knew it wasn't going to be the old, you can never repeat something that reaches a cult status as that. the old ECW was a rough around the edges and very rustic. The New ECW is a cookie cutter design made in the WWE's image. The fans and wrestlers who want the old back need to get over it already. What is done is done.

I guess I'm sort of "Old-School Kayfabe", I don't like mentioning the competition on your own programming.
Regardless, I will not watch TNA until they take J-E-double F J-A-double R-E-double T off of my television. Quit acting as if you're Flair, Jarrett...you're just barely Bob Backlund.

will someone be kind enough to clue me in to what happened on last week's iMpact? I know Rhino had pre-filmed some anti-ECW comments a few weeks ago, and I'm assuming it aired last Thursday. What did he say/do?
