Okay show...I watched it real-time, which I only do with wrestling anymore when I'm playing CotG during it.
I was playing CotG during it.
That was one slow-a** X division match. Was it just Shark Boy? In any event, it didn't make me think OMG, SENSHI.
Nash showing "hesitation" with Senshi was a nice touch, though. And, apparently, Alex Shelley's brush with heroism is done.
Love Roode's new look. Hope he beats Rhyno at Slammiversary and, if the rumors about Rhyno's ECW return are true, he will.
The James Gang riff on Team 3D was funnier than I wanted it to be, I admit. Not OMGHOWFUNNY...but I did chuckle. The best mic work from B.G. James since I started watching TNA, aside from his very emotional rant at Konnan after Konnan attacked Bullet Bob.
Sting always...ALWAYS...needs to do his mic work in front of a crowd, without exception. His backstage promos are weak and unfocused...he manages to stay on the point in front of the crowd, and probably feeds off of them.
I love the build-up to King of the Mountain, and am quite intrigued that some combination of Sting, Raven, Steiner and Jarrett will be the next two matches...and I am PRAYING that Raven goes over whover he faces.
Christian needs to lose the belt now, thanks. He's more worn as champion than Rey-Rey.
Not thrilled with Shane Douglas as Candido '06, but if it gets The Naturals back on track, then whatever.
What in the snot are they DOING with Monty Brown? He jobs to Christian, disappears for two months...then comes back...to job to Killings? WTF?!?!? Seriously...this is the closest thing to a CAN'T MISS homegrown guy they've had...great look, carryable in the ring, unique personality...and they have just wasted him HARD since he turned on DDP last year.
Don West is an X-Men geek? *buries his Wolverine stuff* I am SO ashamed now.
So, yeah...watchable, but not great...but at least there was no Zbyszko, and Slick Johnson was contained to refereeing and not making veiled threats against Larry Z...(btw, Don West...it's called "stripes", not "plaid").

I must say, Don West is REALLY getting on my nerves...When Tenay is talking, West's face is THISCLOSE to Tenay's...and I've finally grown tired of:
"Think of all the combinations..!! We could see Sting vs. Jarrett..!! Or Sting vs. Monty Brown..!! Or Sting vs. Steiner..!!"
Next segment....
"The possibilities are endless..!! We could see Sting vs. Jarrett..!! Or Sting vs. Monty Brown..!! Or Sting vs. Steiner..!!"
Before the match...
"This is it, time for the King of the Mountain Qualifying Match..!! Are we goign to see Sting vs. Jarrett..?! Or Sting vs. Monty Brown..?! Or Sting vs. Steiner..?!"
I think Steiner needs to goon Don West and give him some "time off"...Although not knowing the full extent of the situation, I think it would be nice to see Tony Schiavone again...I miss Tony....

Watched about 45 minutes of the show and thought it was 'OK' as well...not great, but not terrible either. The one thing about TNA is that their crowds really take away from the broadcast. If TNA were in the ECW arena or a smaller, barn like arena I think the show would be much better right away.
I thought Sting's backstage promo was a little 'unfocused' as well...he still did a good job, but when the show was over and they showed the 'recap' montage you could see what they were trying to do.
I also agree that Cage needs to bring his character back to life again. I see him as a 'California' dude type character...ladies man, laid back...you know, cool...he can talk the talk...but it seems right now he's not walking the walk. The guy is the perfect fit for a 'golden boy' type angle (21st century Flair) and would fulfil a role not currently in TNA.
Senshi is pretty cool.
Monty needs to be a part of a small group at this stage. Not JJJ...but maybe him and another heel. I agree, the recent strings of loses is hurting him...but as is he is a homegrown, I doubt he'll be down for long.
At least they are trying to get something going for 3-D and James Gang. Thought the 'dress up' thing was a little lame, but served its purpose. Why don't James Gang just call 3-D out and get in each others face as to who the best tag team is...and then have a best of 5 or something?
Lots going on...you can tell TNA are really trying to 'build' angles and storylines, but they are still unfocused and too 'all over the place' I'm sure that has a lot to do with iMPACT being a 1 hour show...but sometimes less is more. (just don't tell that to the guys who don't get used...)

This show was entertaining and they are moving forward. But then I had the same reaction about Monty Brown losing to Killings. This was the dumbest move ever! Brown should be in the King of the Mountain Match! Killings over Brown?! I still am scratching my head over that one. Only thing I could think of is Brown's shoulder is not 100% yet?
I hope Raven makes it into the KOTMM but I have a feeling he is going to do the job...again. And yeah Sting's promo was choppy backstage. Over all some very funny moments and some good matches.
I still wonder if Spike is giving all they can to TNA. I mean what was with the WWE CD commerical on during TNA's programming? Talk about a shot to the foot. If I was apart of TNA managment there were be some people answering me some questions and they better be good before they take a fist to the throat.

Wait...Brown's hurt? Was that why he was MIA for two months? That makes a lot more sense, now.
As far as WWE advertising during TNA goes...I see TNA PPV ads during Raw, at least, so what's good for the goose and all...

Yeah Monty Brown had been apparently sidelined with a shoulder injury. Or so I had read. Could be why?

Well...in defense of Tony...Don West makes Tony Schiavone sound like Jim Ross.

I was actually really surprised by Killings' win as well. I am thinking they have bigger plans for Monty at the ppv. Hoping might be a better word.

Tony just said some really funny things especially late WCW...Like when Mike Tenay went on this HUGE rant, like, anger, veins yelling...and After it was over, Tony said "Well, it's finally happened; Mike Tenay has turned heel." or this little gem: (Ric Flair and Shane Douglas) Flair: "You know Douglas, until you fight Bruiser Body, god rest his soul, in front of thousands in Japan…" Douglas: "I can’t, he's dead." Flair: "Until you have fought Kerry Von Erich, god rest his soul, in front of thousands in Dallas, Texas." Douglas: "He's dead too!" Flair: "Oh you think you're really something. Well let me tell ya, I have P**sed away more money on bar tabs then you will make in a lifetime pal." Tony Schiavone: "Now that’s a shoot!" Classic...

Schiavone was awful. Every single Nitro was "THE GREATEST SHOW IN THE HISTORY OF THE WCW!!!" an he did a poor job selling the storylines. In his defense, that's partially because it would be hard for anyone to explain WCW writing, but still...he was really bad.
I stuill think Tenay/Shjane Douglas would be their best annpouncing combo.
Can't comment on the show itself. Getting tore down last night. I'll have an opinion after the replay Saturday.

Dissapointed in this show. I felt like they had something going from last week. 1) Senshi was very good. But it was funny as Tenay said that Senshi was debuting for the first time tonight, then caught himself and actually explained the angle. Bravo! Senshi=Warrior 2) Nash attacks another X-Division wrestler. I had some good ideas for Nash/Shelley. This could play out well. 3)Bobby Rude stole one of Terry Taylor old ring jackets. "Coach" D'More does nothing for me.Rhino with the -GORE-GORE-GORE. Shane Douglas shows up? Too much going on I had to rewatch to post it. 4)Killings the Dance Machine beats Monty with a weak rollup??? TNA talks about getting Goldberg when they already have a guy like Brown they can mold into his type. 5) The James Gang are like Michael Scott from "The Office" stuck in the 90s and lamer than lame. Can Billy Gunn say only two word phrases. Funny to see old BG James talk about physiques for a guy who wears a baggy t-shirt. 6) Don West is awful. Tenay with the classy tux, West with the 80's cover band look. Will he have a piano keys tie next week. Stay tuned.
I hope they rebound next week. Didn't care for this week much.

so this whole thing about Kevin Nash killing X-Division stars and claiming that he's the soon-to-be X Division champion... he does realize that the current X Division champion is Samoa Joe, right? That would be a somewhat disappointing payoff for the Kevin Nash angle, unless they could get the belt off of Joe somehow and allow for a smaller X Division guy to go over Nash.

Apparently on Global Impact, Chris Sabin declared war on Nash after Nash beat him down...so I don't think they're going the Joe vs Nash route.

Good point. I didn't understand why Joe got the belt back. They got it off him in a way that didn't hurt his persona and he was "moving up" to the heavys. Daniels loses and then gets pushed in a tag team for title matches? Isn't Joe the head of the X division if he is the champ?

Joe Doesn't care about the X-Division remember..? He spat on their code of respect and destroyed Daniels and then after the match he put him out for a month...When Daniels came back for his rematch he did the same thing...He's never represented the X-Division and is only in it for the belt...Once he takes the World Title (at whatever point) if he still has the X-Division belt, he'll drop it like a bad habit... He is the LAST guy that represents the X-Division... Not only that, but Nash is after the little guys right..? 290lbs is NOT little...

Except Joe flipped out when Larry Z. tried to pull him out of the X Division.
And Nash also claimed he was going to be the new X Division champion...which he can't become without beating the champ.

Joe Flipped out because he didn't actually lose the belt...Everyone who's been in a Triple Threat situation and loses a belt without losing flips out...Angle flipped out for months when he lost two belts that way on the same night...
