I'm going to be honest. And this is probably going to come off as a TNA bashing threa. but I don't give two licks about this PPV:
Here's the line-up:
NA returns to PPV tonight with their second annual Lockdown event, featuring a lineup of all Steel Cage Matches. The complete lineup for the show features:
*NWA champion Christian Cage vs. Abyss
*Sting & AJ Styles & Rhino & Ron Killings vs. Jeff Jarrett & Scott Steiner & America's Most Wanted - Weapons Hanging from the Roof
*NWA X-Division champion Samoa Joe vs. Sabu (first-ever meeting)
*Christopher Daniels vs. mystery opponent
*Team 3D vs. Team Canada - Anthem Match
*Bob Armstrong vs. Konnan - Arm Wrestling
*Chris Sabin vs. Elix Skipper vs. Petey Williams vs. Shark Boy vs. Chase Stevens vs. Puma - Xscape Match
I've already said I don't care for the LOCKDOWN concept(although who wouldn't want to watch arm wrestling IN SIX SIDES OF STEEL!!!11!1roxorz!) but even w/o the goofy gimmick, there's nothing about this show that makes me want to buy it.
Daniels/Liger would've been a big lure, but that got scrapped.
AJ Styles as a second fiddle worries me. He's the company's biggest 'home -grown' talent, and yet he's been lost in the upper midcard shuffle. Mr. TNA is more like Mr. Lost at the moment.
Their War Games match will probab;ly be a lot of fun to watch, but that's the only thing that jumps out of me. I even thiink Cage/Abyss will be pretty bad, actually.
So here's my question for all the TNA defenders: are you buying this PPV? Am I missing something? Because TNA folowed up a nice debut on Thrusday with a lackluster show that got a lousy rating last week (for those who didn't see it somewhere else, they scored a 0.9, which was dissapointing because their UFC lead-in scored a really good 2.1. TNA completely lost tier lead-in audience apparently).
And now they're following that with what looks like a pretty blah PPV. Bringin Sting back and signing Steiner was supposed to BUILD momentum..lokks like things are going the other way...
