TNA News: WWE Threatens YouTube, Jushin Liger, Terry Taylor, More
By Triple A
# Jushin "Thunder" Liger will not appear at the TNA Lockdown PPV on April 23. He was originally scheduled to face Christopher Daniels for the X-Division title but there was apparently a communication snafu on the New Japan side and Liger will work shows in Japan for the week of the PPV instead.
# Former WWE Million Dollar Tough Enough champion Daniel Puder was backstage at tonight's TNA Impact taping in Orlando, Florida.
# TNAwrestling.com is reporting that The Red Rooster, Terry Taylor recently underwent neck fusion surgery and has officially retired from all in-ring appearances. Pretty big news. Taylor had been working the indy circuit over the last couple of years as well as doing some "backstage" work for WWE, WCW, and TNA.
# TNA is reportedly working on forming a deal with video website YouTube.com to host videos for the promotion. This is in great contrast to WWE, which reportedly threatened YouTube with a lawsuit over their videos being hosted on the site. Little bitches.

If true, this is a HUGE disappointment. I've never ordered a single TNA PPV, but I was considering this one. One of the big reasons was to get a chance to see Liger-Daniels. There's still a chance that I might get it, but it doesn't look likely right now.

Isn't Liger kind of old?
I haven't seen any of his matches in years, but maybe he's changed his style and isn't the high flying madman he once was??
Or maybe he was just really young back when I first saw him in the NWA/WCW against Chris Benoit.

I've heard that he's changed his style over the years, but still does the occasional high spot. Supposedly he is now much more of a technician. I also believe that he was extremely young when he first showed up in WCW (19-22). Someone who's followed him over the years would probably know better.

Liger is not showing up: www.tnawrestlingnews.com/headlines/146901402.shtmlHere are some other news 'items': Disappointed about seeing only the ending of the Joe/Daniels match. But I LOVE the change in format if it plays out. I hated the jobber show feel of Impact - despite all the TNA defenders insisting that the old school WWF Superstars fele was good booking. You know who you are. Over-all, I know that the move to Thursday at 11 wasnt as good as going to primetime, but the UFC has been a strong lead in and has been getting great ratings for Spike, so hopefully enough fans stick around to give TNA a nice little boost in ratings. At some point, they need another hour, but this is so much better than an afternoon slot on Fox, so not bad.

About Lyger: Lyger may be BETTER then now then he was in his "athletic prime". Meaning, Lyger is a genius and knows how to work a damn fine match without resorting to cheap tactics like meaningless leg work. The man can GOOOOOO too.

LOL...I just noticed my atrocious spelling.
"The Liger..half lion, half tiger...its just about my favorite animla right now."
Also, Hawk is right. Even at his age, LYGER is fantastic.

I have seen Liger when he went against Soma Joe. Not a bad guy, totally over matched and knew he was going to lose, but Liger can go. I heard the match got scraped when Joe beat Daniels for the belt tow weeks ago on impact and Liger wanted no part of Joe from the last time they met. Trust me it was a brutal match and the fans in the arena had a chant going of "Joe is going to kill you" Liger will appear on a card soon though.

Wrestling is a work. You do know that, don't you?
EDIT: That whole post is hilarious, from Liger 'knowing he was going to lose' to the fact that he wanted 'no part of Joe.'
Just to clear things up, Liger was scheduled for some matches in Japan. Apparently there was some confusion about when Lockdown was hapeneing.
I'm not going to try to start explianing anything else.

On Liger I believe from what Im told he was originally a flyer. But he took too many risk and so he changed his style. Good examples of the risk is the Shooting Star Press. I believe he had a few near miscues that almost snapped his neck. Kidman made the SSP look easy but it is a seriously dangerious move. So Liger changed from Flyer to power wrestler with some flying tendances. Everything I've seen of Liger I liked alot. Sometimes I wish I had the more resources to see more wrestling from Japan. So it sad to not see him at Lockdown.
On Puder....whoop de doo. Is he any good anyway? Honestly I think I would rather see the Miz in TNA than Puder. But that won't happen really soon.
On WWE suing Youtube. Not surprising at all. WWE just is trying to squeeze every penny it can out of us these days. WWE in my eyes is sooooo tiring that I might order a PPV after Trips wins the belt back (bashing WWE in the TNA forum...thats not a first). But the 40 bucks I dont feel is worth it. But thats way off subject.
On TNA working with YouTube. Awesome stuff for TNA. Wonder if their online show is going to be on Youtube.

I think it was a smart decision to work alongside You Tube than against because it really gets your product out there. And if done well they can really bring in the viewers and the interest. As far as paying for a WWE ppv I only buy WM but throughout the rest of the year I could careless. Their PPV's feel like I am paying to watch a RAW or SMACKDOWN episode than a PPV so I pass. But considering I am really liking Smackdown alot lately I may pick up the next Smackdown PPV. RAW doesn't interest me at all right now.

Im the same way. Only thing is I worked on WM and didnt feel it was worth losing a work day and 40 bucks.

Liger is captaining Team Japan in the World X Cup with fellow CTU(his new japan heel faction) Minoru(Tanaka), Hirooko Goto, and former ROH star Rocky Romero(who wrestles in Japan as the masked Black Tiger IV), but this is now old news as the other 3 debuted at the Lockdown PPV...as far as Liger changing styles, don't forget he missed nearly 3 yrs in the early and mid 90's recovering from a broken leg and a brain tumor, that will make a guy change his style just as much as age will.
