From WrestleView.com:
PWInsider is reporting that legendary manager Bobby "The Brain" Heenan is backstage at the TNA iMPACT! tapings tonight in Orlando, FL at Universal Studios. Heenan is scheduled to debut tonight during the tapings for Spike TV and was filming promos backstage earlier today.
Former WWE star Charlie Haas is also backstage at the tapings tonight as well in Orlando. Haas is visiting as his wife Jackie Gayda recently debuted for TNA (technically as of this past Saturday's iMPACT! airing that was taped weeks ago). Haas is not booked to appear at the tapings tonight.
We will have a full report from the show later tonight.

WOW! Bobby Heenan is my favorite manager/color commentator of all time. It'll be awesome to see him in TNA!

I am really curious as to what his role will be. I also hope that Haas comes to TNA at some point down the road. I think he could really add to the TNA roster.

TNA needs to sign Charlie Haas right away. Now that guys like Christian Cage and Team 3-D are becoming available, they're starting to make a splash. A guy like Charlie Haas is young and has a lot of upside and is a great worker, which is a lot more than guys like Kip James can say.
The only other "WWE Rejects" that I would consider signing are maybe Test, and maybe Matt Morgan. But I haven't decided if I think that would be a good idea yet or not, especially with Test. Even signing guys like Kidman and Shannon Moore would only continue to support Swarm's notion of TNA being wrestling's Island of Misfit Toys.

The real test for TNA is to make these former WWEers into something different or their own in some way, if you catch my drift.. Obviously TNA is a step down from WWE as far as money, fame, and public opinion is concerned. I would say that WWE did that with alot of the WCW and ECW guys to some extent. If you look at alot of the guys in WWE you sometimes forget that they were ever in another company. TNA needs to bring guys like Rhino and Team 3D and Christian Cage to that point. It will take time but if they do it correctly it can happen.

You're right. This is why I hate seeing Road Dog and Kip James reunited. First of all, because I dislike them both. Second, because putting them back together is a direct copy of what these wrestlers did in WWE. One thing WWE does that I've always liked is that when they sign talent from another fed they start them out at the bottom and practically rebuild that wrestler from the ground up. WCW and TNA on the other hand have often just used old WWE talent to relive or continue old WWE angles or feuds. I don't want to be reminded of WWE when I watch TNA.... I want something that's fresh and new.
IMO Christian should have started at the bottom of the roster and worked his way up gradually over time, not gotten stuck in with a top contender in his first big match.
Team 3D should put over AMW a few times before they ever take the titles. TNA is never going to be able to build new talent if they keep telling us "If they were a star in WWE, that automatically makes them a title contender in TNA."

Well to completely ignore that they were ever in WWE would be foolish. Eventually I would like to be able to forget that fact because of them being so closely related with TNA at that point. I feel like Christian being involved with Monty Brown benefits both and still does not say that the WWE guy coming in is better than all TNA guys. I think he is being handled perfectly right now. Rhino on the other hand probably should have had a similar type of feud with someone like Abyss or Sabu or someone more established in TNA. Kip James and BG James reuniting could be good or could be bad. I am optimistic because they could potentially have so much heat from breaking up the much loved 3LK. Most likely they will never hold the titles and that will help to make the TNA guys look that much better. Team 3D should be tag title contenders whereever they go at this point. I would go so far as to say that they are the LOD of our era. Valid points have definitely been made so far though. TNA has a very thin line to walk right now. They need to do almost everything right in order to take the current formula and make it work.

Now that I've read your comments and think about it, Kip James and BG James reunited will not work, and this is why: Kip James and BG James is a direct copy of what they did in WWE, but they're doing it under different names and a group called 4LK. So not only do they make TNA look like the pastures where used up WWE stars go to spend the rest of their days, but they're the cheap imitation versions of what was once a popular tag team in a different promotion.
Valid point made about TNA needing to start WWE guys at the bottom. But who would they be kidding? We all know that TNA is still a long way from even coming close to competing with WWE, and the way to draw outside fans who aren't hardcore wrestling "smarks" who lounge around wrestling websites and forums is to push wrestlers that other fans might recognize. The internet fans will watch TNA for stuff like workrate, the casual fan will watch for name value and good ol' 'sportz entertainment.'

Well first of all 4LK will definitely break up within the next few months. I read about a break up a long time ago. Konnan is supposedly going to form his own latino type group and Homicide of ROH fame is someone Konnan wants to bring in for it. Apolo will also be joining that group. Remember Apolo was seen backstage with KDawg a few weeks ago? You can see how much the fans love 3LK and how uneasy they are with Kip James as a member so imagine how pissed they will be when The James' break it up. I think it can work. Maybe I am the only one. So far we only have 3 opinions on this anyway.

That would be fine with me. Have Konnan go form his own group... put BG James and Kip James together so we can get them out of the way at the same time. Drop Ron Killings from the group all together, get him to stop the dumb dancing, and let him be the main event competitor that he SHOULD be.

I'd love to see Killings back in the main event picture.

I am hoping for that as well. It is kinda Booker Tish to have him hold the title a while ago and then drop him so low on the card.
