Ok, I have never been a Double J fan. But after reading a news story on NoDq.com on how he removed himself from the main event of Slamaversary because he wasn't slated to win summed it all up for me. This guy is a total Miopean (god I hope I spelled that right!) Dude, if it wasn't for daddy being a major player in USWA and WCCW back when you were starting, you would be NOTHING! You have stolen every bit of your persona from other wrestlers and since Vince was making you job out to a chick, you run to daddy and start your own fed....and then make yourself the major star. Jeff Jarrett "King of the Mountain!" You have some of the best young talent in the business at your disposal and you insist on giving yourself the gold in the biggest PPV stage in the history of TNA. Thank you Dixie Carter for standing your ground against this "King of the Playground". Plus props for giving someone who truely deserves the title in Raven.
Maybe, just Maybe, He will get mad, call daddy and just go away! Or maybe they should just call it the Double J wrestling federation (JJWF).
That's my rant.... If there is a god, NEVER ALLOW JEFF JARRETT BECOME A LOW WRESLTER!!!!
I am out!

That is what happens when you own the company or are married to the bosses daughter, you get to do what you want, when you want, and how you want, regardless of who you piss off. At least we have the GWF, CPC and LOW.

Poke, you're absolutely right about Jarrett. I grew up with Memphis wrestling (in Louisville). We got Jarrett wrestling every Tuesday night and I attended most and Jarrett, in my opinion, was never really over except the occassional ring rat.
I give Jerry Lawler credit. I think he saw Jarrett and when Brian Lawler was ready, he had him not use the Lawler name (although everyone knew they were father and son). But most people could suspend disbelief though.
If you want an example of Jarrett back in the day. If you remember Eric Watt's push in 92 by his dad Bill, you have a similar circumstance.

There is no comparison between Jeff Jarrett and Triple H.
For one, WWE makes money.
Secondly, Triple H will put people over. His dominant reigns always wind up with somebody becoming a hell of a lot bigger than they were. Batista, Benoit, Benjamin. For that matter, Booker T and Randy Orton have stayed main eventers despite being beaten by the Game. So maybe there is something to this "putting a guy over without losing to him" theory.
Jarrett does not put anyone over. Period. AJ Styles is waiting to be the biggest name outside of WWE and could legitimately help out TNA. Does he get a long run? No. They make him look like he is out of his element challenging for the Heavyweight title.
So, who gets the belt when Jarrett acts like a bitch? Raven. Does this do anything for Raven? No, he's already a made guy. Nice to see him with the belt, but it is not the same as seeing somebody who is still on the way up like Styles or Monty Brown, or even Christopher Daniels who is at least not on the way down.

You have to give guys like Raven or Jarrett the title sometimes to give the title more credibility. If only up and comers held the title then it would not mean a whole ton. Know what I mean?

Personally, I love the idea that Raven is the World champion...too bad it's in the worst era TNA has ever seen (which is saying something).
And with Jarrett, the argument people are making is that he never actually puts anyone older. He singlehandedly killed Monty Brown's push with two back to back wins over him...Styles (a two time World champion going into his match with Raven) was built up as a total underdog, and still only won when Monty Brown Pounced Jarrett...and was then depicted (despite being a three time champion at this point) as a fish out of water.
Jarrett being champion and then putting over another wrestler to build them up is fine...Jarrett being champion, making his opponent look totally inept when they DO win, and then pushing to immediately regain the title does nothing for anyone but Jeff Jarrett, who doesn't care if TNA lives or dies, as long as he ges to live out his own HHH fantasy.

I have to be honest, I have never seen TNA. I do follow what is happening with TNA. I will only comment on my perception of Jeff Jarrett.
I was a fan of Jeff Jarrett when he first entered the WWF in the mid 1990's. I stayed with him through his first WCW run and into his second WWF run. The point where he lost me was in the second WCW run with that whole "Chosen One" gimmick.
I think that it was an awful gimmick and it went to his head. It's funny to me that Vince Russo used to write for the WWF magazine as "Vic Venom" because he seems to poison everything he touches. I think that Jarrett never recovered from his Russo poisoning and we all continue to feel stung. I think that they deserve tag team credit here for dual suckitude.
