Based on the television listings, NWA-TNA Impact appears to be airing their last episode this Friday on FOX Sports Network. Next Friday, however, FOX is airing the "World Series of Darts" and there appears to be NO TNA programming on FOX Sports's schedule for the months of June or July.
To back this up, TNA only taped 2 shows during their May 17th taping, possibly knowing of pending doom. For weeks, rumors have been swirling about their television future. Unless this is merely a scheduling error on FOX Sports's part, expect some sort of announcement to be made by NWA-TNA in the upcoming days.
Without a TV deal, TNA would likely continue on with their Pay Per View monthly shows while remaining in talks with other cable networks. Just recently, they had talks with both Spike TV (who is soon to lose the WWE) and WGN. TNA just recently signed several of its stars, Styles and Daniels, to long term deals. Therefore, there appears to be no end in sight for TNA, despite this possible television setback.
In addition to FOX Sports's scheduling, NWA-TNA is STILL listed as holding tapings at Universal Studios through July.
As I suggested before, this could very well be a scheduling error or merely a pre-emption for one week, in addition to being a coincidence that TNA only taped for 2 shows. DO NOT take this as face value of TNA losing their television deal until they or FOX Sports officially announces it!!!!!

"FINAL IMPACT TO RUN ON FOX SPORTS NET, NEXT WEEK'S TAPING CANCELLED PENDING NEW TELEVISION DEAL By: Joey Styles 5/27/2005 12:24:01 AM
TNA will air their final broadcast of iMPACT on Fox Sports Net on Friday and next week's scheduled taping has been cancelled while discussions continue towards finalizing a new television deal, rumored to be with WGN.
A message was posted on the TNA forums under the "news" section that addressed the situation. According to the message posted on the forum, "All iMPACT tapings at Universal have been cancelled up until the Slammiversary PPV".
Slammiversary will be held as planned on June 19, which is the actual three year anniversary of the launch of TNA. Speculation is that the situation regarding a tv deal will be finalized by then and plans currently call for a taping to be held on the Monday or Tuesday after the pay-per-view.
Rumors are popping up that a deal has already been finalized with WGN and that the first show might air on June 20. A note posted on the Between The Ropes message board says an announcement from TNA about a WGN deal is imminent."
The rumors are still that TNA will debut on Monday nights at 8-10pm against RAW.

Why do they want to go head to head with RAW? Why not go and get more of the potential wrestling audience for a totally different night? I guess it worked for Nitro, but this still makes no sense to me.

Maybe this is what Raw needs to start becoming must see TV again. While I do think TNA is definitely not what Nitro was at the time, what could be interesting would be possible shoot interviews like we used to see on the live head to head shows. Tell me Matt Hardy going off about Lita and Edge wouldnt be interesting on a live show. This could make Mondays fun again. It certainly couldnt hurt.

Matt Hardy going off on Lita and Edge wouldn't be interesting on a live TV show.
Seriously, I'm over it. I just wanna see everyone get on with their careers now.
More importantly, I wanna know how bad this is going to hurt Trish when she has to come back and play the face since, God love her, she's so much better as a heel.

My point wasnt so much about Matt,Lita & Edge as it was about the possible rebirth of wrestlers shooting on one another on rival shows. As far as Trish goes I agree she is a great heel and I'd just assume see her retire the Womans Title and stay heel as a manager . That way she could still get plenty of mike time. And what ever happened to her relationship with Christian?

Information has come out that the deal between NWA-TNA and WGN might have fallen through at the last minute.
The deal was supposedly going to be announced tomorrow but we're told Dixie Carter did something that prevented a contract from being signed. That's not to say that the two sides won't reach an agreement but as of right now the deal is off.
So far the company hasn't told any of it's talent about negotiations breaking down for fear of causing a panic. The saving grace here is that TNA left Fox Sports Net on really good terms so it's possible a new agreement could be reached with them.
Hopefully this matter will be resolved within the next day or two, but as it stands TNA has no TV outlet aside from pay-per-view.

Rumor has it NWA-TNA and WGN were fighting over the time slot. TNA wants 8-10 while WGN wants 7-9 and since they are on Central Time everything starts at 7 and ends at 9 in time for the 9 O'Clock News in Chicago.

Is Dixie Carter the actress from "Designing Women" or a completely different person?

So TNA lost the deal because they were wanting to insure that their entire show went virtually unwatched, instead of just the last hour?
