Here it is....finally, I have got something settled as far as Legends go.
Will be run on a calendar (starting in April 1974).....a TV show every Monday, with a SuperCard the first Sunday of the month.
To start out, the big show of the year, IconoClash I, will hold the tournament for the PWI World Champion. The original 24 from the Legends will participate.
The tournament set up:
- Six 4-man Round Robin Tournaments - The winners of those tournaments divide up into two 3-Way Dances - The winners of the 3-Way Dances will face in the finals in an I Quit Match for the vacant PWI World Championship.
As it stands right now, the active roster is the original 24...broken down into 5 stables, and 4 solo wrestlers. A Tag Team Title will be determined at a later date...as will a PWI United States and a PWI World Television Titles.

The Show’s Opening
- Match announcers, David Crockett & Tony Schiavone, welcome the fans at the Omni…and the fans watching at home…to Pro Wrestling ICON’s grand opening: IconoClash I: “In the Beginning…”
- This will be a big 3-day super spectacular…and by the end of the weekend, the PWI will have crowned it’s very first PWI World Champion
- Tonight will feature three 4-man round robin tournaments….tomorrow will feature the other three 4-man round robin tournaments….and Sunday will witness two 3-Way Dances (the winners of the round robin tourneys), and then an I Quit Match for the crown and glory of the PWI….the PWI World Heavyweight Championship
- For the 4-Man Round Robin Tournaments…points will be awarded: 20 points for a pinfall/submission win; 15 points for a count out win; 10 points for a disqualification win
Tournament #1
The Sandman vs. Harley Race w/ Bobby Heenan
- Sandman took the fight to Race, slamming him into the buckles…then following up with 2 White Russian Leg Sweeps
- Sandman then attempted a piledriver, but Race countered and nailed Sandman with a forearm slug
- Race climbed to the 2nd buckle, and hit a falling hammer, then locked on the Indian Deathlock, but Sandman made it to the ropes
- A series of knees, then a headbutt put Sandman to the mat…Race climbed the buckles…and planted the diving headbutt
- Race hit a vertical suplex, then another diving headbutt….then landed with a knee drop
- Another diving headbutt gets a 2 count
- Race attempted a falling knee drop, but Sandman rolled out of the way….White Russian Legsweep, but only gets a 2 count
- The fight heads to the outside…Race blocks a slam into the table, and instead, slams Sandman’s head into the announce table
- Back inside, Race connects with a swinging neckbreaker, but Sandman kicks out at the 2 count
- Race plants Sandman with the PILEDRIVER, this time, taking the pinfall
Animal w/ Paul Ellering vs. Gorgeous George w/ Cherie Dupre
- Gorgeous George took advantage of Animal’s distraction from his long introduction to launch an attack on Animal
- Dropkick, then Gorgeous George began gouging the eyes of Animal with the Georgie pins…
- Gorgeous George attempts to throw Animal into the buckles, but Animal reverses, and nearly takes George’s head off with a clothesline…..Animal then plants George with an overhead bodyslam
- Animal nails the POWERSLAM, but George gets his foot on the ropes just before the 3 count
- As Animal argues with the ref, George rolls to the outside….where he is nailed with a brutal clothesline by Ellering, then tossed back inside
- Animal tosses George back to the outside, then follows him out, but George is DQ’d for smashing his perfume bottle across Animal’s head
Harley Race w/ Bobby Heenan vs. Animal w/ Paul Ellering
- Both men start out trading punches…until Animal rocks Race with a charging axe handle smash in the buckles
- Race fights back, hitting headbutts, forearms, and punches…finally, Race connects with the diving headbutt, getting a 2 count
- Race nails the PILEDRIVER, but Ellering gets into the ring…only to be tossed back to the outside by a Harley Race headbutt
- Race hits an elbow from the 2nd buckle…then locks Animal into the Indian Deathlock…but Animal is able to power out of the hold
- Race bloodies Animal with a 2nd PILEDRIVER, but Animal barely kicks out
- Animal fights back, hitting an overhead bodyslam, then 2 consecutive double underhook slams….
- Animal whips Race into the buckles…then blasts him with a running clothesline
- Animal locks Race in a camel clutch…but Heenan gets on the apron…Animal lets the hold go, distracted…Race hammers Animal with a forearm…whips Animal into the buckles…charges…but Animal lifts his boot into the face of Race
- Animal connects with 3 consecutive flying shoulder rams…but Race pulls the tights, and sends Animal to the outside…
- Race follows him out, runs him into the announce table, then hits the PILEDRIVER on the concrete…rolls Animal back inside, and hooks the leg for the pinfall
The Sandman vs. Gorgeous George w/ Cherie Dupre
- Gorgeous George goes on the attack at the bell….hitting Sandman with move after move…
- Sandman fights back, and nails the White Russian Legsweep
- 2 Heinekenranas…then a shoulder in the buckles
- George fights back…fingernail rake….then George hits a clothesline from the buckles
- Gorgeous George hooks an airplane spin and takes the pinfall
Harley Race w/ Bobby Heenan vs. Gorgeous George w/ Cherie Dupre
- Race dominated the early moments of the match…connecting with hard offense
- Race climbed the buckles, but was stopped, and tossed to the mat
- Gorgeous George then went on an offensive tear with dropkicks, airplane spins, and then locking on the Gorgeous Grip
- Gorgeous George rolled Race up in a small package, while holding the tights, but Race kicked out…
- George tossed Race to the floor, then ran him into the ring barrier, before tossing him back inside
- Back inside, Gorgeous George hit a cross body from the buckles, pulled the tights, and took the shocking pinfall
The Sandman vs. Animal w/ Paul Ellering
- A wild brawl to start…
- The fight went to the outside, where Sandman blasted Animal with the SINGAPORE CANE
- The brawling continues…with neither man gaining any real advantage
- Animal fights back, planting Sandman with the POWERSLAM, but Sandman kicks out
- The fight spills to the outside again…Animal tries to throw Sandman into he turnbuckle post, but Sandman reverses…sending Animal into the post….Sandman busts Animal open with the HARDCORE DDT onto the concrete
- Sandman grabs the cane…and nails Animal again with the SINGAPORE CANE…this time, though, the referee sees it and calls for the DQ
Tournament Tie Breaker Match
Harley Race w/ Bobby Heenan vs. Gorgeous George w/ Cherie Dupre
- Both men trade holds in the opening moments of the match
- The fight heads to the outside, where Race is DQ’d outside the ring
- As George is celebrating, out to the ring walks an official….he is discussing something with the referee….the ref says that the match must continue…this is supposed to be a No DQ / No CO match!! George tries to argue his case, but he is nailed with a hammering forearm from behind by Race as the match continues!!
- Race tosses George around like a rag doll….then plants him with the PILEDRIVER…but Race doesn’t go for the pin…..
- Race hits a diving headbutt….then another PILEDRIVER….1…2….but Race picks George up by his hair….breaking his own count….
- Race gets the mic…he says he is going to make an example out of Gorgeous George…and the example is that the entire PWI better take notice…Harley Race is in town!!
- Race plants a 3rd PILEDRIVER…bloodying the head of Gorgeous George…this time, taking the easy pinfall
Final Tournament Standings:
Harley Race: 60 pts
Gorgeous George: 40 pts
Animal: 20 pts
Sandman: 0 pts

Wladek Kowalski w/ Nikita Breznikov vs. Johnny Valentine
- Valentine makes very short work of Kowalski, hammering him with forearms, a backbreaker…and then the ATOMIC SKULLCRUSHER, taking a quick pinfall
Nick Bockwinkel w/ Bobby Heenan vs. Ted DiBiase w/ Virgil
- Bockwinkel dominates DiBiase
- Bockwinkel is setting up for the FIGURE FOUR LEGLOCK, but Virgil is in the ring…Virgil tries to clothesline Bockwinkel, but Bockwinkel ducks…as Virgil crashes into DiBiase
- Bockwinkel hooks on the BOCKWINKEL SLEEPER…but DiBiase manages to reach the ropes
- Bockwinkel throws DiBiase through the ropes…then follows him to the outside…but Bockwinkel is DQ’d after smashing DiBiase with a chair
Wladek Kowalski w/ Nikita Breznikov vs. Nick Bockwinkel w/ Bobby Heenan
- Kowalski overpowers Bockwinkel, planting him with an overhead body slam for the pin
Ted DiBiase w/ Virgil vs. Johnny Valentine
- DiBiase and Valentine trade holds…
- DiBiase whips Valentine into the buckles…but Valentine reverses…DiBiase reverses…hard clothesline in the corner…
- DiBiase plants Valentine with a powerslam, but Valentine kicks out just before the 3 count
- DiBiase hooks on the MILLION DOLLAR SLEEPER, but Valentine reaches the ropes

- Kowalski uses his strength to hammer DiBiase with hard hitting offense in the opening moments of the match
- Kowalski climbs the buckles, but is slammed to the mat by DiBiase
- DiBiase climbs the buckles…attempts a flying hammer, but Kowalski locks on the CLAW HOLD in mid-air!! DiBiase quickly taps out to the hold
Nick Bockwinkel w/ Bobby Heenan vs. Johnny Valentine
- Valentine starts out the match working on Bockwinkel’s arm…hooking arm holds, and connecting with forearms to the upper arm
- Valentine, out of nowhere, nearly takes the pin with the ATOMIC SKULLCRUSHER, but Bockwinkel kicks out
- Valentine hammers the head of Bockwinkel with forearms, then nails a back breaker…
- But Bockwinkel fights back, and plants Valentine with a back suplex…but Valentine kicks out
- Bockwinkel hooks the BOCKWINKEL SLEEPER, but Valentine reaches the ropes…only to be choked on them
- Bockwinkel quickly locks on the BOCKWINKEL SLEEPER again, this time taking the submission win

Red Bastien vs. King Kong Bundy
- Bundy overpowers Bastien at the start of the match, but Bastien’s quickness gives him the advantage…
- Bastien hits a series of offense, then climbs the buckles…but is caught in mid-air, and then powerslammed into the buckles by Bundy
- Bundy hammers Bastien with punches and stomps…then climbs the buckles…and lands a ring-shaking elbow from the 2nd buckle
- Bundy locks Bastien in a big bear hug, then rams him into the corner….Bundy to the other side…AVALANCHE…Bundy demands the 5-count…and takes the pinfall
Nikolai Volkoff w/ Nikita Breznikov vs. Jimmy Snuka w/ Paul Ellering
- The fight quickly went to the outside, where Snuka was DQ’d for using a chair
King Kong Bundy vs. Nikolai Volkoff w/ Breznikov
- Volkoff rattles Bundy at the start of the match by smashing him with the Soviet flag…
- Volkoff hit a series of offense, ending with a deathjump, taking the pinfall over the stunned Giant
Jimmy Snuka w/ Paul Ellering vs. Red Bastien
- Bastien tries for an arm drag, but Snuka blocks, and nails a body slam
- Snuka tosses Bastien over the top rope…and then hits a falling chop from the apron to the floor
- Snuka hammers Bastien with chops, kicks, and headbutts
- Snuka plants Bastien with a flying headbutt from the 2nd rope, but only gets a 2 count
- Snuka misses a turnbuckle charge…giving Bastien time to recover…
- Bastien hits a spur of offense, then nails Snuka with a series of flying dropkicks…taking the upset pin
Red Bastien vs. Nikolai Volkoff w/ Nikita Breznikov
- Volkoff over powers Bastien in the opening moments, but a flying clothesline by Bastien gives him the advantage
- Bastien hits the ATOMIC DROP, then a series of flying drop kicks, rattling Volkoff
- The fight spills to the outside…but Bastien maintains control, slamming Volkoff into the announce table…
- Back inside, Bastien continues to wrestle, locking Volkoff into a abdominal stretch
- Bastien whips Volkoff into the ropes…flying forearm puts Volkoff to the mat
- Volkoff, though…up quick…nails Bastien with a big boot
- Volkoff then locks on the Russian Bear Hug…then locks on the BACKBREAKER DROP for the pin
King Kong Bundy vs. Jimmy Snuka w/ Paul Ellering
- Snuka takes the win via a back breaker after a brawl throughout the match
