After the commercial break, Bubba Ray Dudley, while tending to partner D-Von, told interviewer “Mean Gene” Okerlund that he and D-Von are challenging Demolition to a Tables Elimination Match “this Monday night” on World Class Championship Wrestling. Bubba said, “Albano, get your boys ready because Brother D-Von and I are gonna … GET … THE … TABLES!”
“MODERN DAY WARRIOR” KERRY VON ERICH (low-b) beat HARLEY RACE (low) with three Discus Punch finishers (Referee: Earl Hebner) --To his credit, Race got up from two Discus Punches before the third put him down for good.
ABC & The LWF Present WORLD CLASS CHAMPIONSHIP WRESTLING on ABC-TV (8 p.m. Eastern/7 p.m. Central Mondays, hosted by Gordon Solie & Jim Ross (matches 1-3 and 7-9), Mike Tenay & Larry Matysik (matches 4-6), Bill Apter, “Mean Gene” Okerlund & Gary Michael Cappetta)

KEVIN VON ERICH (low-b) beat “DIRTY” D*ICK MURDOCH (low-b) with the Flying Body Press finisher (Referee: Bronko Lubich)
LUMBERJACK MATCH BOBBY “The BRAIN” HEENAN (low) beat ULTIMO GUERRERO (low-c) with a Sunset Flip (Referee: James Beard) --Heenan’s protégé, Missing Link, was barred from ringside, with a half dozen uniformed bobbies with batons surrounding his dressing room door. Both men experienced problems outside the ring, especially when one of the lumberjacks, LWF World Cruiserweight Champion Mr. Gannosuke, brained Guerrero with a chair as Heenan had Beard distracted before tossing the Mexican star back into the ring, where he staggered up to a leaning position, enabling Heenan to hit the Flip on him. Heenan held onto Guerrero’s tights to keep him down for the 1-2-3. After the pin, though, as the lumberjacks left the ring, an angry Guerrero regained his senses and took off after Gannosuke and tossed him into the ring, and the two had to be separated by the other wrestlers.
----------Tenay & Matysik commentary---------
LWF General Manager “Cowboy” Bill Watts told interviewer Bill Apter that the next LWF Pay-Per-View event will be Legends Of The Fall: Survival on Sunday, November 18 in Miami, Florida. The focus of the card will be a 16-man single-elimination tournament, with the winner getting a shot at the LWF World Heavyweight Title the same night. Watts added that the eight first-round matches will take place over the next four weeks on World Class Championship Wrestling, with the first two matches taking place next week: Bobo Brazil vs. Kerry Von Erich, and Harley Race vs. Barry Windham. Watts also said that The Sheik is due to return from his 60-day suspension in two weeks. “I’m not looking forward to it, and I don’t think anyone else is, either. But, he and Abdullah Farouk both know the score. One more incident like the fireball that got him suspended in the first place, and his butt is gone for a YEAR!”
BOB BACKLUND (low-b) beat “IMPACT PLAYER” CHRIS CANDIDO (w/ Tammy “Sunny” Sytch) (low) with the Atomic Knee Drop finisher (Referee: Mark Curtis)
LWF WORLD TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH LWF National and Co-World Six-Man Tag Team Champions ROCK ’N’ ROLL EXPRESS (Robert Gibson & Ricky Morton) (low-b) beat LWF World Tag Team Champions “DOGFACED GREMLIN” RICK & SCOTT STEINER (low-c) when Gibson beat Scott with the Double Dropkick finisher to win the belts (Referee: David Manning) --Ricky ’N’ Robert continued their domination of the LWF Tag Team Division (their World Six-Man Tag Title partner being LWF newcomer Christopher Daniels) with the win over the Steiners, only to see the Midnight Express charge in and attack both teams, with Jim Cornette demanding a shot at any of the titles for his team.
“NATURE BOY” BUDDY ROGERS (low) beat DORY FUNK JR. (low-b) with a Piledriver (Referee: Scrappy McGowan)
----------Solie & Ross commentary---------
After the commercial break, LWF General Manager “Cowboy” Bill Watts told interviewer Bill Apter that he’s going to grant Cornette’s request for a title match … but only if his men can beat the Steiners in a Number One Contender’s Match. “Then,” Watts said, “Cornette can choose which of the tag team titles he wants to challenge for … although I have a pretty good idea which one they want.”
CHAIRLY LEGAL MATCH “RATED ‘R’ SUPERSTAR” EDGE (low-b) beat BOBO BRAZIL (low) with the Spear finisher (Referee: Nick Patrick) --This was essentially hardcore rules, with chairs legal. Edge appeared to be more adept at using a chair, battering Brazil often with the steel and keeping away from the front of his head, finally softening him up for the Spear, putting the Legend from Benton Harbor on his back for the 1-2-3.
NON-TITLE MATCH MISSING LINK (low) (w/ Bobby “The Brain” Heenan) (low) beat LWF National Heavyweight Champion “AMERICAN DREAM” DUSTY RHODES (low-b) with the Back Flying Head Butt finisher (Referee: D*ick Woherle)
Before the Main Event, Solie and Ross announced that, next week, Dusty Rhodes will defend the National Title against the Missing Link on World Class Championship Wrestling. Also, Bobo Brazil faces Kerry Von Erich and Harley Race meets Barry Windham in first-round tournament matches. The Steiner Brothers and the Midnight Express will wrestle in a Number One Contender’s Match.
LWF MAIN EVENT--LWF WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE MATCH “SAMOAN SUBMISSION MACHINE” SAMOA JOE (low-c) beat LWF World Heavyweight Champion TOM JENKINS (ls) by disqualification; Jenkins retains the belt (Referee: Johnny “Red Shoes“ Dugan) --A frustrated and desperate Jenkins was on the verge of losing when he brought a chair into the ring and smashed Joe over the head with it. Dugan called for the bell to end the match, but Joe only went down to one knee. Jenkins watched in amazement before hitting Joe with the chair again, this time putting him on his back … but only for a moment, because Joe slowly got back to his feet and told Jenkins to “bring it on.” Jenkins got scared, grabbed his belt and left as Joe, staggering and with blood trickling down his nose, refused the referee’s raising of his hand and dared Jenkins to get back in the ring as TV time expired.
Highlights will air this Saturday morning at 9 a.m. Eastern/8 a.m. Central on LWF World Class Weekend, hosted by Bill Mercer, on ESPN.
UPCOMING SHOWS: 10/22/07--LWF WORLD CLASS CHAMPIONSHIP WRESTLING, Omaha, Nebraska 10/29/07--LWF WORLD CLASS CHAMPIONSHIP WRESTLING, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania 11/5/07--LWF WORLD CLASS CHAMPIONSHIP WRESTLING, Los Angeles, California 11/12/07--LWF WORLD CLASS CHAMPIONSHIP WRESTLING, Topeka, Kansas

DORY FUNK JR. (low-b) beat “IMPACT PLAYER” CHRIS CANDIDO (w/ Tammy “Sunny” Sytch) (low) by disqualification when Justin Credible ran in and hit Funk with his Singapore cane; Terry Funk ran in to help his brother, but Credible nailed him too, and the Impact Players left the Funks laying (Referee: Gilberto Roman)
ABC & The LWF Present WORLD CLASS CHAMPIONSHIP WRESTLING on ABC-TV (8 p.m. Eastern/7 p.m. Central Mondays, hosted by Gordon Solie & Jim Ross (matches 1-3 and 7-9), Mike Tenay & Larry Matysik (matches 4-6), Bill Apter, “Mean Gene” Okerlund & Gary Michael Cappetta)
----------Solie & Ross commentary---------
NON-TITLE MATCH LWF World, National and World Six-Man Tag Team Champions ROCK ’N’ ROLL EXPRESS (Robert Gibson & Ricky Morton) (low-b) beat DAVID & KEVIN VON ERICH (low-b) when Gibson beat David with the Double Dropkick finisher (Referee: Tommy Young) --The two popular teams shook hands before and after the match. The Von Erichs held their own, but it was the Rock ‘N’ Rolls’ tag team experience that shone here.
LWF General Manager Bill Watts reminded fans that tonight begins the tournament leading up to the Legends Of The Fall: Survival Pay-Per-View event on November 18, in which the tournament winner will get a World Heavyweight Title shot that takes place that same night. Tonight’s matches are Bobo Brazil vs. Kerry Von Erich and Harley Race vs. Barry Windham. Watts also said that, after what happened in last week’s Main Event, the LWF has made Samoa Joe an offer. They gave him the option of wrestling in the tournament or facing LWF World Heavyweight Champion Tom Jenkins in a rematch next week, and Joe took the title shot. Therefore, the match next week between Jenkins and Joe will be for the title, and it will be No Disqualification.
“SAMOAN SUBMISSION MACHINE” SAMOA JOE (low-c) beat “RATED ’R’ SUPERSTAR” EDGE (low-c) with a Cross-Body Block (Referee: Mark Curtis) --LWF World Heavyweight Champion Tom Jenkins joined Solie & Ross at ringside for commentary. He said Joe was a savage who didn’t deserve another title shot, and he was incensed that Watts was forcing him into a rematch, especially one with the No Disqualification stipulation. Jenkins said, “That’s alright, though, When it comes right down to it, there can be no question which of us is the superior (slowly for emphasis) WRES-TL-ER!” After Joe won the match, he came down to the commentary table and had a staredown with Jenkins, and officials swarmed out to keep the two men apart.
OBVIOUS NON-TITLE MATCH LWF World Cruiserweight Champion MR. GANNOSUKE (low-c) beat “RUSSIAN BEAR” IVAN KOLOFF (low) with the Sitout Scoop Piledriver finisher (Referee: D*ick Woherle) --After Gannosuke pulled off the victory over the larger Koloff and was celebrating in the ring, former Cruiserweight Champion Ultimo Guerrero ran in and attacked Gannosuke, getting him in the Guerrero Special before officials came out and pried Gannosuke away from Guerrero.
----------Tenay & Matysik commentary---------
FIRST-ROUND TOURNAMENT MATCH “MODERN DAY WARRIOR” KERRY VON ERICH (low-b) beat BOBO BRAZIL (low) with a Running Dropkick; Von Erich advances in the tournament (Referee: Dave Hebner) --As the match began, Edge, in a pre-recorded video insert, told Kerry Von Erich that, if Kerry beats Brazil tonight, “I expect you to thank me,” in reference to the recent violent series of matches between Edge and Brazil. Von Erich got the win, and he and a dejected-looking Brazil shook hands.
In the back, Bill Apter interviewed Jim Cornette, surrounded by his Midnight Express. Cornette said that, “win, lose or draw tonight, and we WILL win, the Rock ‘N’ Roll Express has something they took from us. The World Six-Man Tag Team Titles. I admit, they pulled a fast one on us when they brought in somebody totally new, someone so totally off the radar we couldn’t possibly have scouted him, this ’Fallen Angel’ Christopher Daniels. But, this time, we know the score. We want a shot at those Six-Man belts. And, after tonight, when we beat those illiterate Steiner Brothers and get a shot at the World Tag Team Titles, we expect to have TWO shots at gold belts, and ‘Loverboy’ Dennis, ‘Beautiful’ Bobby and the ‘Gangster Of Love’ will take advantage of every … and I mean EVERY … opportunity.”
“NATURE BOY” BUDDY ROGERS (low) beat BOB BACKLUND (low-b) with the Figure Four Grapevine (Referee: Johnny “Red Shoes“ Dugan)
DOUBLE ELIMINATION TABLES MATCH DEMOLITION (Ax & Smash) (low-b) (w/ “Captain” Lou Albano) (low) beat DUDLEY BOYZ (Bubba Ray & D-Von Dudley) (low-c), two tables to none (Referee: Nick Patrick) --The object of this match is to put both members of the opposing team through tables. The Dudleys’ challenge for this match aired Saturday morning on LWF World Class Weekend, but it was Demolition who controlled the match. First, Ax & Smash teamed up to put a bloody Bubba Ray through a table in a modified version of the Demolition Decapitation. D-Von fought valiantly, getting busted open himself while opening up Smash, but, in the end, the remaining Dudley was no match for the double-teaming of Albano’s men, who reduced a second table to splinters with D-Von’s body. Ax held Smash up while they and Albano gloated over D-Von and the table rubble as Bubba Ray tried in vain to regain his feet at ringside.
----------Solie & Ross commentary---------
FIRST-ROUND TOURNAMENT MATCH HARLEY RACE (low) beat BARRY WINDHAM (low) by disqualification when Windham took the referee out with a Flying Lariat; Race advances in the tournament (Referee: James Beard)
Solie announced that both Dudleys had been taken away in an ambulance to a nearby medical facility.
NUMBER ONE CONTENDER’S MATCH “DOGFACED GREMLIN” RICK & SCOTT STEINER (low-c) beat MIDNIGHT EXPRESS (“Loverboy” Dennis Condrey & “Beautiful” Bobby Eaton) (low) (w/ Jim Cornette) (low) when Rick beat Condrey with the Steiner Bulldog finisher (Referee: Earl Hebner) --During the match, Stan Lane tried to interfere, but the Rock ‘N’ Roll Express ran out and stopped him. With the sides even in the ring, the former champion Steiners earned a rematch against Ricky & Robert.
Solie & Ross announced that, next week, Tom Jenkins defends the LWF World Heavyweight Title against Samoa Joe in a No DQ Match, Mr. Gannosuke defends the World Cruiserweight belt against Ultimo Guerrero, the first round of the tournament continues with Buddy Rogers vs. Edge and Missing Link vs. David Von Erich, and The Sheik makes his return from his 60-day suspension.
LWF MAIN EVENT--LWF NATIONAL HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE MATCH LWF National Heavyweight Champion “AMERICAN DREAM” DUSTY RHODES (low-b) beat MISSING LINK (low) (w/ Bobby “The Brain” Heenan) (low) by disqualification when Link hit Rhodes with a wild chair shot; Rhodes retained the belt (Referee: Scrappy McGowan)

(Card source key: low=Filsinger’s Legends Of Wrestling; low-b=Legends Of Wrestling Bootlegs; low-c=Legends Of Wrestling Creations; low-m=Legends Of Wrestling Memphis Bootlegs; ls=Legendary Stars)
LWF WORLD CLASS WEEKEND on ESPN (9 a.m. Eastern/8 a.m. Central Saturdays, hosted by Bill Mercer, with commentary by Mike Tenay & Larry Matysik and ring announcing by Gary Michael Cappetta)
(Matches to be aired on Saturday, 11/3/07)
MINNESOTA WRECKING CREW (Arn & Ole Anderson) (low-b) beat ROUGH & READY (w/ Boss Winters) (low-m) when Ole beat Ready with the Standing Arm Bar finisher (Referee: Scrappy McGowan) --The Andersons made their return to the LWF, making quick work of Winters’ thus-far unsuccessful duo and tossing Winters from the ring after the match for good measure.
CHRIS HERO (low-c) beat “BEAUTIFUL” BOBBY EATON (low) (w/ Jim Cornette) (low) by disqualification when Hero went to the top rope and was attacked by Dennis Condrey and Stan Lane (Referee: Tommy Young) --Hero, making his LWF debut, apparently was not taken seriously by Cornette & company, but Hero’s moves in the ring brought the Midnight Express back down to earth. Eaton was down when Hero went for a flying maneuver, and that’s when Eaton’s partners attacked. As the Express ganged up on Hero, Christopher Daniels, who holds the World Six-Man Tag Titles with World and National Tag Team Champions the Rock ‘N’ Roll Express, ran out to help but was overwhelmed by the numbers until Robert Gibson & Ricky Morton ran out, and it was only then that Cornette called the dogs off.
After the commercial break, Gene Okerlund was backstage with Daniels, Hero, Gibson and Morton. Daniels thanked the Rock ‘N’ Rolls for their help, “but I think Chris and I can handle things. You saw what Cornette and his men did to my friend Chris Hero. Next week, Cornette, Chris and I want the Midnight Express in a tag match. And, we only want TWO of them. Pick two, and tell the other one to stay the hell away from the ring!”
LWF WORLD CLASS WEEKEND MAIN EVENT “MODERN DAY WARRIOR” KERRY VON ERICH (low-b) beat LOU THESZ (low-b) with the Discus Punch finisher (Referee: Mark Curtis) --Von Erich, already in the quarterfinals of the World Heavyweight Title Number One Contender’s tournament, was expected to have more trouble with Thesz then he actually did, overpowering the former World Champion and hitting his patented spinning punch out of nowhere. Thesz was left rubbing his jaw and Von Erich returned to the dressing room.
ABC & The LWF Present WORLD CLASS CHAMPIONSHIP WRESTLING on ABC-TV (8 p.m. Eastern/7 p.m. Central Mondays, hosted by Gordon Solie & Jim Ross (matches 1-3 and 7-9), Mike Tenay & Larry Matysik (matches 4-6), Bill Apter, “Mean Gene” Okerlund & Gary Michael Cappetta)
----------Solie & Ross commentary---------
FIRST ROUND TOURNAMENT MATCH “NATURE BOY” BUDDY ROGERS (low) beat “RATED ’R’ SUPERSTAR” EDGE (low-c) by disqualification when Edge brought a chari into the ring, shoved the referee aside, and hit the One-Man Con-Chair-To on Rogers; Rogers advances in the tournament (Referee: James Beard) --Beard called for medical attention for Rogers as Edge left the ring following his assault on the “Nature Boy.” Edge took the mic and said, “All you so-called Legends, take note of what you just saw me do. I destroyed Bobo Brazil, and I just destroyed another one of your Legends. Who’s the next one to feel the steel?”
Bill Apter interviewed Samoa Joe, the challenger later in the night for Tom Jenkins’ LWF World Heavyweight Title. Joe told Apter, “I heard what Tom Jenkins said about me last week. He called me a ‘savage’ who didn’t deserve a title rematch. Tom Jenkins, you’ve got me all wrong. I happen to be a well-educated, disciplined athlete. I am also someone you don’t want to make mad. I know tonight’s match is No Disqualification. I know you’re expecting me to behave like a jungle animal tonight. Well, Tom, you are in for a surprise. You won’t even know you’re in a No DQ match … until the very end of your title reign!”
After the commercial break, Solie said one of the cameramen backstage was working on his camera when he happened to catch a scene in a hallway. The scene, shown via videotape, was that of Jim Cornette peeling bills off a roll of cash and handing them to Abdullah Farouk, manager of the returning Sheik. The two men shook hands before Farouk saw the camera and started cursing at the cameraman before the screen went blank.
“FALLEN ANGEL” CHRISTOPHER DANIELS (low-c) beat The SHEIK (low) (w/ “Grand Wizard” Abdullah Farouk) (low) with the Best Moonsault Ever finisher (Referee: Bronko Lubich) --Daniels came to the ring first, and then Farouk came out by himself and introduced The Sheik. The arena lights went out, and a ball of fire rose up from the blackness. When the lights came back on, The Sheik was in the ring. Sheik was returning after a 60-day suspension imposed by the LWF after a fireball incident. Sheik was his usual vicious self, jabbing repeatedly at Daniels with a pencil and opening him up. Ross speculated that Cornette must have been paying off Farouk to have Sheik injure Daniels and make it easier for the Midnight Express to reclaim the World Six-Man Tag Team Titles from Daniels and the Rock ‘N’ Roll Express. Daniels, though, fought back through the blood and, with Sheik down, started to go for the ropes. Farouk climbed onto the ring apron, but Daniels kicked him off. Daniels then hit the B.M.E. and pinned Sheik, 1-2-3. As Daniels left the ring in celebration, an irate Farouk screamed at Lubich about a fast count as Sheik appeared to be going for a fireball. Farouk saw it and, knowing Sheik would be suspended again, perhaps permanently, if he threw fire again, stopped him and dragged him from the ring.
BARRY WINDHAM (low-b) beat KEVIN VON ERICH (low-b) with a Missile Dropkick (Referee: Dave Hebner)
----------Tenay & Matysik commentary---------
In an interview shown live on LWF World Class Championship Wrestling but not shown to the live crowd in the arena, Gene Okerlund interviewed Jim Cornette, accompanied by the Midnight Express. Cornette said his challenge to the Rock ‘N’ Roll Express and Christopher Daniels for the World Six-Man Titles still goes. He said, “I was hoping The Sheik, out of the goodness of his heart, would take Daniels out for us, but, as everyone saw tonight, that didn’t happen. So, we’ll have to do the job ourselves. And, Rock ‘N’ Roll Express, next Monday night, I hope the Steiners beat the tar out of you … but leave you with the belts so we can take those, too!” Okerlund then asked Cornette about the wisdom of having Bobby Eaton wrestle a singles match “this weekend on World Class Weekend” against a newcomer, a youngster by the name of Chris Hero. Cornette stared at “Mean Gene” momentarily before replying, “Why should that worry us? All that’ll do is keep ‘Beautiful Bobby’ mentally and physically sharp before our six-man match for the belts. Don’t make me worry about things I shouldn’t worry about. This interview is over!”
BUFF BAGWELL (low) beat BOB BACKLUND (low-b) by countout (Referee: Gilberto Roman) --Bagwell was returning after a two-year absence, and he made his mark when he hit his Buff Blockbuster off the ring apron on Backlund on the floor, and Bagwell, who felt the effects of his own move, crawled back into the ring before Backlund could beat the 10-count.
NON-TITLE MATCH LWF National Heavyweight Champion “AMERICAN DREAM” DUSTY RHODES (low-b) beat HARLEY RACE (low) with the Flip, Flop & Fly (Referee: Earl Hebner)
Backstage, Bill Apter interviewed the LWF World Heavyweight Champion, Tom Jenkins. As fans could be heard chanting, “Joe’s gonna kill you,” Jenkins said, “Samoa Joe, you can’t fool me. You talk about being educated and disciplined. But, I’ve wrestled you before, and I know the real you. At any moment, you can snap like a wild animal. Listen to these people. They know you’re an animal! That is why I’m glad our match tonight is No Disqualification. A lion tamer uses a chair to tame a wild beast. I will have access to much more than that to tame you and show you that you don’t belong in the same ring as me, and you CERTAINLY don’t deserve to be the World Heavyweight Champion!”
LWF WORLD CRUISERWEIGHT TITLE MATCH ULTIMO GUERRERO (low-c) beat Champion MR. GANNOSUKE (low-c) with a Cross-Body Block to win the belt (Referee: Johnny “Red Shoes“ Dugan) --Guerrero used his speed and agility to counter Gannosuke and hit the cross body to get the pin and regain the Cruiserweight belt. As Guerrero held the belt high and celebrated, the arena lights went out. Tenay speculated that the Sheik was returning, and the sound of a metal chair hitting a skull could be heard. When the lights came back on, though, Guerrero was flat on his back, the chair set up beside him, and on Guerrero’s other side stood … SABU! Sabu pointed to the ceiling and took off, hitting the Triple Jump Moonsault on Guerrero. At ringside, Gannosuke laughed and pointed. Sabu ran and jumped onto the chair and top rope again … and jumped onto Gannosuke outside the ring! With Gannosuke down, Sabu pulled a table out from under the ring, but Gannosuke was able to scramble to safety. Before Sabu could get the table into the ring, officials ran out and stopped him, and they herded him up the aisle to the back as other officials tended to Guerrero.
----------Solie & Ross commentary---------
DORY & TERRY FUNK (low-b) beat IMPACT PLAYERS (Chris Candido & Justin Credible) (w/ Tammy “Sunny” Sytch) (low) when Dory beat Candido with the Spinning Toe Hold finisher (Referee: D*ick Woherle)
FIRST ROUND TOURNAMENT MATCH DAVID VON ERICH (low-b) beat MISSING LINK (low) (w/ Bobby “The Brain“ Heenan) (low) with the Iron Claw finisher, after whipping Link into Heenan, who had come into the ring; Von Erich advances in the tournament (Referee: Nick Patrick)
Solie and Ross announced that, next week, the Rock ‘N’ Roll Express defend the LWF World Tag Team belts against the Steiners, Kerry Von Erich takes on Edge, and, in more first-round tournament action, Bob Backlund meets Ultimo Guerrero, and, in a match just signed, Mr. Gannosuke will face a replacement for the injured Ivan Koloff … Sabu!
LWF MAIN EVENT--LWF WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE MATCH--NO DISQUALIFICATION “SAMOAN SUBMISSION MACHINE” SAMOA JOE (low-c) beat Champion TOM JENKINS (ls) with The Choke/Kokina Clutch finisher to win the belt (Referee: David Manning) --True to his word, Joe wrestled Jenkins and matched him hold-for-hold. Jenkins brought a chair into the ring, but Joe kicked it in his face, enabling the challenger to lock in the Clutch and force Jenkins to pass out. Manning checked Jenkins’ arm three times. When it dropped the third time, the bell rang, and Joe, who rarely cracked a smile, grinned broadly as he was presented the belt. Mr. Gannosuke came out and got Guerrero’s attention, and Manning turned to try to get Gannosuke away from the ring. Meanwhile, Sabu came out with a chair in hand and threw it towards Guerrero; however, Guerrero ducked, and the chair hit Backlund instead. Guerrero chased off Sabu, Gannosuke walked away, and Guerrero rolled Backlund up in the Small Package to win and advance to the tournament quarterfinals.
MIDNIGHT EXPRESS (“Beautiful” Bobby Eaton & “Sweet” Stan Lane) (low) (w/ Jim Cornette) (low) beat “FALLEN ANGEL” CHRISTOPHER DANIELS (low-c) & CHRIS HERO (low-c) by disqualification (Referee: Bronko Lubich) --The Express were beating up on Hero, and Cornette was about to wallop him with the tennis racket when Daniels snatched it away, swung and missed at Cornette, and then connected on Eaton and Lane. Christopher Daniels ran out, but Cornette nailed him with the racket. With the Rock ’N’ Rolls and Daniels down, Cornette told them to “get ready, boys, because, next week, the Midnight Express will take back what’s rightfully ours … the World Six-Man Tag Team Titles! And, ONE of you is NOT going to team with your partners again!” Solie and Ross wondered what he meant by that as TV time ran out.

FIRST-ROUND TOURNAMENT MATCH The SHEIK (low) (w/ “Grand Wizard” Abdullah Farouk) (low) beat BUFF BAGWELL (low) with a Small Package, Sheik advances in the tournament (Referee: Tommy Young) --After the match, Sheik looked to be going for a fireball, and Farouk frantically managed to stop him, fearing a lengthy suspension.
Bill Apter brought out LWF World Heavyweight Champion Samoa Joe and former champion Tom Jenkins, and Apter noted that LWF General Manager Bill Watts had decided to have the rematch between Joe and Jenkins at Legends Of The Fall: Survival on Pay-Per-View this Sunday night, and the winner of that match would defend the belt against the winner of the tournament. Jenkins said he shouldn’t have to wrestle twice in one night, because “I think everyone realizes that this savage Samoan is little more than a one-hit wonder, and, in a wrestling match, the likes of which we’ll have Sunday night, he wouldn’t stand a chance against me.” Joe responded with, “One-hit wonder, eh? Tom Jenkins, all it‘ll take me is one hit, and you‘re going down.” Security ran into the ring as Joe and Jenkins stood nose-to-nose.
BARRY WINDHAM (low-b) beat DAVID VON ERICH (low-b) with the Sweetwater Superplex finisher (Referee: James Beard)
----------Tenay & Matysik commentary---------
NON-TITLE MATCH LWF National Heavyweight Champion “AMERICAN DREAM” DUSTY RHODES (low-b) beat MR. GANNOSUKE (low-c) by disqualification when Gannosuke hit Rhodes with a chair (Referee: Bronko Lubich)
Backstage, Gene Okerlund interviewed the Rock ‘N’ Roll Express and Christopher Daniels. AS Solie and Ross mentioned earlier in the night, tonight’s main event with the Midnight Express will be for the LWF World Six-Man Tag Team Titles, and whoever loses the fall cannot team with either of his partners for one year. Ricky Morton said, “’Mean Gene,’ Jim Cornette obviously wanted this stipulation put in the match. I think he thinks we’re gonna be worried about possibly breaking up the Rock ‘N’ Roll Express. I want all out fans to know that’s NOT gonna happen! Robert and I have gone down too many roads and wrestled in too many rings to let it all come to an end tonight. And, Chris, it’s not gonna happen to you, either. You’re a good partner, and we’re looking forward to many more title defenses with you.” Daniels replied, “Ricky, thank you for the vote of confidence. Nothing would make me happier than to see one of the wheels come off the Midnight Express. Jim Cornette and his men deserve everything they have coming to them tonight!”
BOB BACKLUND (low-b) beat “HUMAN HIGHLIGHT REEL” SABU (low) with the Atomic Knee Drop finisher (Referee: Dave Hebner) --LWF World Cruiserweight Champion Ultimo Guerrero came to ringside and distracted Sabu long enough for Backlund to mount an offensive and finish things with his patented Atomic Knee Drop to get the win. Guerrero ran in after the bell and attacked Sabu, and Mr. Gannosuke ran in and attacked both men. The three battled until security and referees ran out to break it up, but not before Guerrero hit a plancha on Gannosuke as he was being led away, followed by Sabu with a springboard dive onto the mass of humanity on the floor.
FIRST-ROUND TOURNAMENT MATCH LOU THESZ (low-b) beat KEVIN VON ERICH (low-b) with the Greco-Roman Backdrop finisher; Thesz advances in the tournament (Referee: Mark Curtis)
----------Solie & Ross commentary---------
“NATURE BOY” BUDDY ROGERS (low) beat “RATED ’R’ SUPERSTAR” EDGE (low-c) with the Figure Four Grapevine finisher; afterwards, Rogers put Edge in the Grapevine around the ringpost and then got a chair and mercilessly beat Edge with it over the head and knee in retaliation for Edge’s One-Man Con-Chair-To weeks ago; a bloody Edge had to be carried on a gurney to a waiting ambulance (Referee: Scrappy McGowan)
“MODERN DAY WARRIOR” KERRY VON ERICH (low-b) beat HARLEY RACE (low) with the Iron Claw finisher (Referee: D*ick Woherle)
Solie and Ross announced the pairings for the quarterfinal round of the Number One Contender’s Tournament at Legends Of The Fall: Survival Sunday night. The matches are: Ultimo Guerrero vs. David Von Erich, Sabu vs. Harley Race, Lou Thesz vs. Kerry Von Erich and Buddy Rogers vs. The Sheik. They also said the Rock ‘N’ Roll Express will defend the LWF National Tag Team Titles Sunday night against Arn & Ole Anderson, LWF Women’s World Champion Trish Stratus defends her belt against Gail Kim, and, as mentioned in the first hour, LWF World Heavyweight Champion Samoa Joe defends against Tom Jenkins, with the winner defending the belt the same night against the winner of the tournament.
LWF MAIN EVENT--LWF WORLD SIX-MAN TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH--LOSING WRESTLER CANNOT TEAM WITH HIS PARTNERS FOR ONE YEAR MIDNIGHT EXPRESS (“Loverboy” Dennis Condrey, “Beautiful” Bobby Eaton & “Sweet” Stan Lane) (low) (w/ Jim Cornette) (low) beat Champions ROCK ’N’ ROLL EXPRESS (Robert Gibson & Ricky Morton) (low-b) & “FALLEN ANGEL” CHRISTOPHER DANIELS (low-c) when Condrey beat Gibson with the Rocket Launcher finisher to win the belts; Gibson now cannot team with either Morton or Daniels for one year (Referee: David Manning) --Fans could not believe what they had just seen happen. As Cornette and his Midnight Express celebrated, Gibson sat up in the middle of the ring as he realized what had just happened. He and Morton hugged as Daniels did his best to console them. Many fans were seen crying at ringside. Within moments, the entire crowd picked up a “ROCK-AND-ROLL” chant. Solie and Ross speculated as to what will happen with the Rock-N-Rolls’ World and National Tag Team Titles now as air time expired.
Highlights will air, along with matches taped earlier in the night, this Saturday morning at 9 a.m. Eastern/8 a.m. Central on LWF World Class Weekend, hosted by Bill Mercer, on ESPN.

ABC & The LWF Present WORLD CLASS CHAMPIONSHIP WRESTLING on ABC-TV (8 p.m. Eastern/7 p.m. Central Mondays, hosted by Gordon Solie & Jim Ross (matches 1-3 and 7-9), Mike Tenay & Larry Matysik (matches 4-6), Bill Apter, “Mean Gene” Okerlund & Gary Michael Cappetta)
----------Solie & Ross commentary---------
GEORGE SOUTH (low) beat “MOUNTIE” JACQUES ROUGEAU (low) by disqualification when Rougeau used his shock stick on South (Referee: Bronko Lubich)
DEMOLITION (Ax & Smash) (low-b) (w/ “Captain” Lou Albano) (low) beat NEW AGE OUTLAWS (“Bad Ass” Billy Gunn & “Road Dogg” Jesse James) (low) when Smash beat Gunn with the Demolition Beatdown (Referee: Tommy Young) --The Outlaws hoped to get revenge for last week’s countout loss to Albano’s men. They gave it everything they had, but it wasn’t enough against the big men.
In the back, Gene Okerlund interviewed Ricky Morton, who beat Sabu last week in a Number One World Cruiserweight Title Contender’s Match last week. He said, “I hope I can pay back all the good wishes of the fans tonight when I step into that ring for the belt. Ultimo Guerrero, I know you’ve had a rough road as the champion. I’m gonna give you everything I have, andI expect you to give me everything you have. In the end, I hope that I’m the one to get my hand raised.” Robert Gibson came into the picture. “Ricky, I don’t mean to interrupt you, but I just want to wish you good luck tonight. I know you‘re gonna win that title.” The two former partners, their split mandated two weeks ago by terms of their loss to the Midnight Express, shook hands and hugged.
TIGER MASK (low) beat MR. GANNOSUKE (low-c) by disqualification when Gannosuke hit Tiger with a chair as Tiger came off the top rope (Referee: Johnny “Red Shoes” Dugan) --The masked newcomer dazzled fans with his high flying, but he flew once too often, flying right into a steel chair wielded by Gannosuke. Dugan called for the bell as Gannosuke raised the chair, only to have Dugan grab it away. The damage was done, though, as Ultimo Guerrero ran in to protect Tiger, and Gannosuke left, grinning evilly.
----------Tenay & Matysik commentary---------
TERRY FUNK (low-b) beat “MODERN DAY WARRIOR” KERRY VON ERICH (low-b) with the Spinning Toe Hold finisher (Referee: David Manning)
In the back, Bill Apter interviewed Jacques Rougeau, asking him why he used the shock stick on George South. Rougeau replied, “Bill Apter, you and every other American are so incredibly stupid. This George South person was committing crimes against me and all Canadians in that ring, and I had no choice but to subdue him the approved Mountie way. If you cannot handle it, as one of your Presidents said, get out of the kitchen. Buddy Rogers learned last week that you do not cross Mountie justice, Bill Apter. He deserved every volt that I shot into his body. It will be a long time before you see that lawbreaker in an LWF ring again. And, as far as every other wrestler in the LWF is concerned, I hope they all learned a valuable lesson tonight. Canadian justice WILL be served!”
ROBERT GIBSON (low-b) beat “HOMICIDAL, SUICIDAL, GENOCIDAL” SABU (low) (w/ “Grand Wizard” Abdullah Farouk) (low) with the Gibson Leglock finisher (Referee: Dave Hebner)
LWF NATIONAL HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE MATCH Champion “AMERICAN DREAM” DUSTY RHODES (low-b) beat “PRETTY BOY” LARRY SHARPE (low) by countout to retain the belt (Referee: Earl Hebner) --Rhodes was leaving nothing to chance, hitting Sharpe with an offensive flurry that sent the “Pretty Boy” to the floor. The challenger decided he’d had enough and went to the back as he was counted out. Tenay noted that he hadn’t seen such intensity from Rhodes in some time.
----------Solie & Ross commentary---------
“SAMOAN SUBMISSION MACHINE” SAMOA JOE (low-c) beat BARRY WINDHAM (low-b) with the Avalanche Muscle Buster finisher (Referee: D*ick Woherle)
LWF WORLD CRUISERWEIGHT TITLE MATCH RICKY MORTON (low-b) beat Champion ULTIMO GUERRERO (low-c) with the Cross Body Block finisher to win the belt (Referee: Mark Curtis) --Morton couldn’t believe he’d won the belt. After shaking hands with Guerrero, Morton jumped up and down with the belt as fans cheered, and now-former partner Robert Gibson ran out and hugged Morton in celebration.
Before the Main Event, Solie & Ross gave the first-round pairings in the World Tag Team Title tournament, to begin next week: The Steiner Brothers vs. the New Age Outlaws, the Midnight Express vs. the Von Erichs, the Minnesota Wrecking Crew vs. the Funks, and Demolition vs. Christopher Daniels & Chris Hero. Also, Number One World Heavyweight Title Contender Samoa Joe meets Buff Bagwell, newly crowned World Cruiserweight Champion Ricky Morton meets Tiger Mask in a non-title match, and Robert Gibson takes on the Missing Link, plus National Champion Dusty Rhodes and Mountie Jacques Rougeau. The Steiners, though, wore the Andersons down en route to Scott scoring the pin. Ross speculated that this match could very well have taken something out of both teams for next week’s opening round of the World Tag Team Title tournament.
Highlights will air, along with matches taped earlier in the night, this Saturday morning at 9 a.m. Eastern/8 a.m. Central on LWF World Class Weekend, hosted by Bill Mercer, on ESPN.

----------Solie & Ross commentary---------
NON-TITLE MATCH LWF National Heavyweight Champion “AMERICAN DREAM” DUSTY RHODES (low-b) beat GEORGE SOUTH (low) with the Figure-Four Leglock finisher (Referee: David Manning) --Rhodes didn’t waste any time with South, quickly putting him away with the leglock and hesitating before finally breaking it at Manning’s urging.
MISSING LINK (low) (w/ Bobby “The Brain“ Heenan) (low) beat ROBERT GIBSON (low-b) with Flailing Forearms (Referee: Earl Hebner)
In the back, Gene Okerlund spoke with Dusty Rhodes, asking him where his newfound intensity came from. Rhodes replied, “’Mean Gene,’ I am getting SICK and TIRED of being taken advantage of. Everybody says, the ‘American Dream’ is a nice guy … a pussycat, if you will. You saw a guy who came in almost off the street (“Pretty Boy” Larry Sharpe) beat me … BEAT ME, ’Mean Gene’ … while I was too busy being a nice guy. I made myself a promise that it won’t happen again. Don’t get me wrong, ‘Mean Gene,’ outside the ring, I’m still gonna shake hands, kiss babies and wink at all the pretty women. But, once I step between those ropes, you will see a Dusty Rhodes the likes of which you have NEVER seen, daddy! I‘m so proud of this belt, and you’re gonna have to kill me to take it away from me!”
LWF WORLD TAG TEAM TITLE TOURNAMENT QUARTERFINAL MATCH “FALLEN ANGEL” CHRISTOPHER DANIELS (low-c) & CHRIS HERO (low-c) beat DEMOLITION (Ax & Smash) (low-b) (w/ “Captain” Lou Albano) (low) by when Hero beat Smash with the Cravate; Daniels & Hero advance to the semifinals (Referee: Mark Curtis) --Ross termed this an upset as Daniels & Hero quickly got out of the ring while Albano threw a fit and Ax & Smash yelled and complained.
----------Tenay & Matysik commentary---------
“MOUNTIE” JACQUES ROUGEAU (low) beat KEITH ROBERTSON (low-m) with the Shock Stick finisher (Referee: Bronko Lubich) --Rougeau brought a chair into the ring, but Lubich prevented him from using it. As Lubich put the chair outside the ring, Rougeau grabbed his shock stick and shocked Robertson, tossing the stick aside before Lubich turned around and made the three-count. As Rougeau celebrated, though, a roar went up from the crowd as “Nature Boy” Buddy Rogers, the victim of a vicious attack by Rougeau two weeks ago, ran to the ring and jumped the self-styled Mountie. Rougeau tried to run away, but Rogers kept up with him and fought him through the crowd and into the arena lobby, where uniformed police finally separated the two as Rougeau left the building, and Rogers headed back to the ring.
After the commercial break, Rogers called LWF General Manager Bill Watts out to the ring and asked very forcefully for a match against Rougeau at Holiday Havoc on December 16. Watts not only granted Rogers the match, he also made it a Falls Count Anywhere Match in the wake of what had just happened.
LWF WORLD TAG TEAM TITLE TOURNAMENT QUARTERFINAL MATCH MINNESOTA WRECKING CREW (“Enforcer” Arn Anderson & “Rock” Ole Anderson) (low-b) beat DORY & TERRY FUNK (low-b) when Arn beat Terry with the Hammerlock Body Slam; the Andersons advance to the semifinals (Referee: Nick Patrick)
In the back, Bill Apter stood by with a man identified as Sir Oliver Humperdink, who said that he was bringing a pro football superstar to the LWF, Canadian football legend Angelo Mosca. Humperdink said Mosca would have a special challenge for anyone in the LWF, and he would explain further next week. He added, “And, beyond the challenge, Angelo Mosca has his eye on gold, CHAMPIONSHIP gold, here in the LWF!”
NON-TITLE MATCH LWF World Cruiserweight Champion RICKY MORTON (low-b) beat TIGER MASK (low) with a Dropkick (Referee: Dave Hebner) --The two men shook hands before and after the match, but, between the bells, the action was fast-paced. Morton hit a well-placed dropkick right on the point of Tiger’s chin to bring this match to an end.
----------Solie & Ross commentary---------
Before the next match, Jim Cornette took the microphone from Cappetta. “You know, I’m getting sick and tired of seeing Ricky Morton strutting around here with a title belt. I’ll be honest with you, I thought that, when we broke the Rock ‘N’ Roll Express up, I thought they’d be so ashamed, they’d leave the promotion. But, that’s okay. As long as they’re being forced to stick to the stipulations of that match, we don’t have to worry about them being involved in our pursuit of the World Tag Team Belts. So, without any further ado, let me present ‘Loverboy’ Dennis and the ‘Gangster Of Love,’ ‘Sweet’ Stan, the MIDNIGHT EXPRESS!”
LWF WORLD TAG TEAM TITLE TOURNAMENT QUARTERFINAL MATCH MIDNIGHT EXPRESS (“Loverboy” Dennis Condrey & “Sweet” Stan Lane) (low) (w/ Jim Cornette) (low) beat DAVID & KERRY VON ERICH (low-b) when Lane beat Kerry with the Rocket Launcher finisher; the Midnight Express advance to the semifinals (Referee: James Beard) --Bobby Eaton came out to help his partners and manager celebrate, while David Von Erich just looked disgustedly at his brother before helping him up and going to the back.
“SAMOAN SUBMISSION MACHINE” SAMOA JOE (low-b) beat BUFF BAGWELL (low) with The Choke finisher (Referee: D*ick Woherle) --LWF World Heavyweight Champion Lou Thesz sat in on commentary as he sized up Joe for the title match at Holiday Havoc on December 16. Joe eyed Thesz several times during the match before forcing Bagwell to tap out. Thesz applauded Joe and said he was looking forward to their match.
Solie and Ross announced that next week’s card will include the World Tag Team Title semifinals, with the Midnight Express vs. the Minnesota Wrecking Crew and Christopher Daniels & Chris Hero vs. the winners of the next match. Also, Cruiserweight Champion Ricky Morton and National Champion Dusty Rhodes will be involved in non-title contests, and, just signed, Samoa Joe faces his final test before challenging Lou Thesz for the World Heavyweight Title at Holiday Havoc as he steps into the ring against the Missing Link.
LWF MAIN EVENT--WORLD TAG TEAM TITLE TOURNAMENT QUARTERFINAL MATCH “DOGFACED GREMLIN” RICK & SCOTT STEINER (low-c) beat NEW AGE OUTLAWS (“Bad Ass” Billy Gunn & “Road Dogg” Jesse James) (low) when Rick beat Gunn with the Steiner bulldog finisher; the Steiners advance to the semifinals (Referee: Scrappy McGowan) --After the match, Christopher Daniels & Chris Hero came to the ring and had a brief staredown with the Steiners before shaking hands and saying, “may the best team win next week,” a reference to next week’s World Tag Title semifinals.

ULTIMO GUERRERO (low-c) beat “MOUNTIE” JACQUES ROUGEAU (low) with a Cross-Body Block (Referee: D*ick Woherle) --After the match, Mr. Gannosuke ran out and attacked Guerrero, tossing him to the floor, where Rougeau piledrove Guerrero, aided by Gannosuke leaping off the ring apron to spike Guerrero. Buddy Rogers and Tiger Mask ran out, but the damage had been done. EMT’s had to immobilize Guerrero’s neck before hauling him out on a gurney, and Solie and Ross speculated that this could be a potential career-ending injury.
“ROCK” OLE ANDERSON (low-b) beat “FALLEN ANGEL” CHRISTOPHER DANIELS (low-c) with the Standing Arm Bar finisher (Referee: Bronko Lubich)
----------Tenay & Matysik commentary---------
Angelo Mosca and his manager, Sir Oliver Humperdink, came to the ring, and Humperdink explained Mosca’s “Football Challenge.” He said, “I am going to put $1000 on the top turnbuckle. All anyone has to do to get it is get past my man Mosca. You don’t have to pin him or make him submit. All you have to do is get by him and grab the money. But, if Angelo pins you, or makes you submit, the challenge is over. Now, is there anyone in that dressing room man enough to try to get past this Canadian football legend?” After some hesitation, the challenge was picked up by George South.
FOOTBALL CHALLENGE MATCH “KING KONG” ANGELO MOSCA (low) beat GEORGE SOUTH (low) with the Sleeper finisher (Referee: Scrappy McGowan) --South never got anywhere near the money on the turnbuckle. Mosca handled him easily, eventually putting his lights out with the Sleeper. Humperdink said, “I thought we’d get a higher class of competition here in the LWF. Tell you what. Next week, I’m DOUBLING the money. Next week, there will be $2000 on the turnbuckle! And, I don‘t think anyone can get it!”

(Card source key: low=Filsinger’s Legends Of Wrestling; low-b=Legends Of Wrestling Bootlegs; low-c=Legends Of Wrestling Creations; low-m=Legends Of Wrestling Memphis Bootlegs)

ABC & The LWF Present WORLD CLASS CHAMPIONSHIP WRESTLING: THE ROAD TO IRAQ on ABC-TV (8 p.m. Eastern/7 p.m. Central, normal three-hour length, hosted in the ABC/LWF Studios in Dallas, Texas by Gordon Solie, with Jim Ross & Mike Tenay handling match commentary and Gary Michael Cappetta as ring announcer in Iraq)
In between matches and going in and out of commercial breaks, video was shown of the LWF Legends interacting with soldiers at various military bases in Iraq and visiting wounded soldiers in the hospital, and Solie interviewing various wrestlers in the studio about their experiences.
“MOUNTIE” JACQUES ROUGEAU (low) beat “AMERICAN DREAM” DUSTY RHODES (low-b) with the Shock Stick finisher (Referee: Gilberto Roman) --Buddy Rogers, in the midst of a feud with Rougeau, came to ringside, inadvertently helping his rival when, while Roman was concerned with getting Rogers away from the ring, Rougeau zapped Rhodes, whose National Heavyweight Title was held up last week in a double countout with David Von Erich, with the shock stick and covered the “American Dream” just as Roman turned around. Rogers chased Rougeau out of the ring and then tended to Rhodes.
LWF WOMEN’S WORLD TITLE MATCH “SENSATIONAL” SHERRI MARTEL (low) beat Champion TRISH STRATUS (low-c) by disqualification when the referee tried to pull Stratus off of Martel in the corner, and the enraged champion hit the ref with a Chick Kick (Referee: Scrappy McGowan)
NON-TITLE MATCH “DOGFACED GREMLIN” RICK & SCOTT STEINER (low-c) beat LWF World Tag Team Champions MINNESOTA WRECKING CREW (“Enforcer” Arn Anderson & “Rock” Ole Anderson) (low-b) when Rick beat Arn with a Sunset Flip (Referee: D*ick Woherle)
FOOTBALL CHALLENGE MATCH “KING KONG” ANGELO MOSCA (low) (w/ Sir Oliver Humperdink) (low) beat “BAD ASS” BILLY GUNN of the NEW AGE OUTLAWS (low) (w/”Road Dogg” Jesse James) (low) with the Big Nasty Elbow Drop to keep the $2000 prize (Referee: Bronko Lubich) --The prize money goes up to $3000 with the next Challenge, to take place next week.
LWF General Manager “Cowboy” Bill Watts personally introduced the next match as a “Soldiers’ Choice Match.” He explained that the soldiers were given a list of potential matches to choose from, and this would be the top vote-getter. As Watts explained this, Jim Cornette came out, dressed to wrestle. He grabbed the mic from Watts and said, “Alright, General Patton, move over and let me give my team the introduction they deserve. And, by the way, you soldiers are a sick bunch of people to vote for me to wrestle in a match in the middle of this Godforsaken desert. The only saving grace is that it’s going to be a four-on-three Handicap Match for our World Six-Man Tag Team Titles. We don’t know who we’re facing, but we’ve got the numbers advantage, so we really don’t care. Ladies and gentlemen of the Armed Forces, may I introduce to you ‘Loverboy’ Dennis, ‘Beautiful’ Bobby and ‘Sweet’ Stan, the MIDNIGHT EXPRESS!” Cornette’s men joined him in the ring, and then Cornette turned to Watts and said, “Alright, Omar Bradley, tell us who we’re going to be defending these belts against.” Before Watts could make the formal introduction, the opening beats of Bob Seger’s “Old Time Rock And Roll” played, and the reunited Rock ‘N’ Roll Express, Ricky Morton & Robert Gibson, came out to thunderous cheers from the thousands of soldiers in attendance. Cornette had a conniption as he protested to Watts about the Rock ‘N’ Rolls being unable to team for one year, per the stipulations of a recent match. However, Watts explained to Cornette that, “this was, after all, a Soldier’s Choice Match, and the soldiers, almost to a man, said they wanted to see the Rock ‘N’ Roll Express back together.” Morton, wearing the LWF World Cruiserweight Title belt, took the mic and told Cornette, “Jimmy, you should have nothing to worry about. It’s very simple. If you beat us and keep the belts, Robbie and I will never team again. But, if we beat you, not only do we win the World Six-Man belts, but we get to stay together.” Cornette regained his composure long enough to tell Morton, “Well, that’s all fine and good. We’ve still got a man advantage on you. Bring out your partner, and let’s get this thing started!” Morton then said, “Well then, Jimmy, let me introduce to you … our partner.” He pointed towards the entrance, and Cornette fainted into his men’s arms when Ricky & Robert’s partner emerged.
SOLDIER’S CHOICE MATCH--LWF WORLD SIX-MAN TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH--FOUR-ON-THREE HANDICAP MATCH ANDRE THE GIANT (low-b) & ROCK ’N’ ROLL EXPRESS (Robert Gibson & Ricky Morton) (low-b) beat Champions MIDNIGHT EXPRESS (“Loverboy” Dennis Condrey, “Beautiful” Bobby Eaton & “Sweet” Stan Lane) (low) & JIM CORNETTE (low) when Morton beat Lane with the Double Dropkick finisher to win the belts (Referee: Johnny “Red Shoes“ Dugan) --As the match went on, the Midnights could not overpower the 7’4” Frenchman from Grenoble. He made a move towards Cornette, who bolted and ran for the back. Andre simultaneously clotheslined Condrey & Eaton out over the top rope to the floor, and then Andre Irish whipped Lane right into a vintage Rock ‘N’ Roll Express Double Dropkick, and Morton made the cover to not only win the Six-Man Tag Belts but also to ensure that he and Gibson remain partners. As the soldiers yelled their approval, Andre lifted a Rock ‘N’ Roller in each arm and paraded around inside the ring in congratulations. As they celebrated, though, Cornette ran back into the ring and whacked Andre in the back with his tennis racket. However, the racket snapped in two on Andre’s back, and the Giant calmly set his partners down, turned around so that he was face-to-breastbone with Cornette, yelled “BOO,” and Cornette nearly decapitated himself in the ropes as he set a land speed record getting back to the dressing room, leaving his team to pick each other up and limp to the back.
TIGER MASK (low) beat “HOMICIDAL, SUICIDAL, GENOCIDAL” SABU (low) with the Tiger Suplex finisher (Referee: Tommy Young) --It was explained that Sabu’s manager, “Grand Wizard” Abdullah Farouk, declined to make the trip, leaving the “Human Highlight Reel” to fend for himself against the Japanese phenom. Once again, Tiger Mask was the victor with his specialty move.
LWF MAIN EVENT--LWF WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE MATCH, BEST TWO OUT OF THREE FALLS “SAMOAN SUBMISSION MACHINE” SAMOA JOE (low-c) beat Champion LOU THESZ (low-b) two falls to none to win the belt (Referee: Dave Hebner) --Joe took the first fall by making Thesz tap out to The Choke finisher, and then, surprisingly to the many onlookers, successfully executed a Sunset Flip on Thesz and hooked his ankles over Thesz’s shoulders and scored the winning pinfall, giving the soldiers in attendance a World Title change. Thesz tried to protest a fast count, but referee Hebner held his ground, leaving Joe to celebrate in the ring, inviting servicemen in to celebrate with him as the show ended on that note.
UPCOMING SHOWS: 12/29/07 (12/31/07 Airdate)--LWF WORLD CLASS CHAMPIONSHIP WRESTLING, Greensboro, North Carolina ***National Title Match, No DQ: Dusty Rhodes vs. David Von Erich ***Number One World Title Contender’s Match: Buff Bagwell vs. Dory Funk Jr. ***LWF National Tag Team Title Match: Steiner Brothers vs. Midnight Express ***Buddy Rogers & Tiger Mask vs. Jacques Rougeau & Mr. Gannosuke 1/7/08--LWF WORLD CLASS CHAMPIONSHIP WRESTLING, Uncasville, Connecticut 1/14/08--LWF WORLD CLASS CHAMPIONSHIP WRESTLING, Mobile, Alabama 1/21/08--LWF WORLD CLASS CHAMPIONSHIP WRESTLING, Hampton, Virginia 1/27/08--LWF RUMBLE ROYALE PPV, New York, New York 1/28/08--LWF WORLD CLASS CHAMPIONSHIP WRESTLING, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

*****RESULTS*****
(Card source key: low=Filsinger’s Legends Of Wrestling; low-b=Legends Of Wrestling Bootlegs; low-c=Legends Of Wrestling Creations; low-m=Legends Of Wrestling Memphis Bootlegs)
LWF WORLD CLASS WEEKEND on ESPN (9 a.m. Eastern/8 a.m. Central Saturdays, hosted by Bill Mercer, with commentary by Mike Tenay & Larry Matysik and ring announcing by Gary Michael Cappetta)
(Matches to be aired on Saturday, 1/5/08; this show will be replaced by LWF Prime Time Wrestling, airing Tuesday nights at 10 p.m. Eastern/9 p.m. Central on ABC Family, beginning on Tuesday, January 8, 2008.)
“FALLEN ANGEL” CHRISTOPHER DANIELS (low-c) beat “HOMICIDAL, SUICIDAL, GENOCIDAL” SABU (low) (w/ “Grand Wizard” Abdullah Farouk) (low) with the Best Moonsault Ever finisher after Daniels whipped Sabu into a collision with Farouk, who was trying to enter the ring to interfere (Referee: Gilberto Roman) --After the match, Sabu got into Farouk’s face, pointing to the ceiling as Farouk pleaded his case. Sabu finally calmed down and left the ring with his manager. Tenay pointed out that Daniels now has a win over both Sabu and his suspended uncle, The Sheik.
FOOTBALL CHALLENGE--$3000 ON THE LINE “KING KONG” ANGELO MOSCA (low) (w/ Sir Oliver Humperdink) (low) beat TERRY FUNK (low-b) with the Sleeper finisher (Referee: Johnny “Red Shoes“ Dugan) --Funk gave it everything he had, but he couldn’t get past Mosca to retrieve the prize money Humperdink placed on the top turnbuckle in his man’s corner. The prize money goes up to $4000 next week.
LWF WORLD CLASS WEEKEND MAIN EVENT BOB BACKLUND (low-b) beat BARRY WINDHAM (low-b) by disqualification when Windham wouldn’t stop choking Backlund with a TV camera cable (Referee: David Manning)
ABC & The LWF Present WORLD CLASS CHAMPIONSHIP WRESTLING on ABC-TV (8 p.m. Eastern/7 p.m. Central Mondays, hosted by Gordon Solie & Jim Ross (hours 1 & 3), Mike Tenay & Larry Matysik (hour 2), Bill Apter, “Mean Gene” Okerlund & Gary Michael Cappetta)
----------Solie & Ross commentary---------
LWF NATIONAL TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH MIDNIGHT EXPRESS (“Loverboy” Dennis Condrey & Beautiful” Bobby Eaton) (low) (w/ Jim Cornette & “Sweet” Stan Lane) beat “DOGFACED GREMLIN” RICK & SCOTT STEINER (low-c) when Condrey beat Scott with the Atomic Drop to win the vacant belts (Referee: Dave Hebner)
Before the next match, Bill Apter introduced Ricky Morton & Robert Gibson, the Rock ‘N’ Roll Express, who came out and thanked the fans for their support and the United States Armed Forces for allowing them to get back together to win the LWF World Six-Man Tag Team Titles with Andre The Giant last week in Iraq. Morton said, “I think ol’ Jimmy Cornette and the Midnight Express must have thought they got hit by a Mack truck when our buddy Andre showed up. Thanks to Andre and to our boys and girls fighting for our freedom in the Middle East, Robbie and I are back together, and Rock ‘N’ Roll is here to stay, daddy! Woo!” A clearly enraged Jim Cornette stormed out, got in the ring and just fumed for what seemed like an eternity before speaking, prompting Morton to ask Cornette, “Whatsa matter, Jimmy? Cat got your tongue?” Cornette finally spoke, in uncharacteristically low-key tones, saying, “Ricky Morton, my Mama’s lawyers have told me that, if I say what I want to say to you, to that cross-eyed goof partner of yours and that power-drunk Bill Watts, I’d get this whole operation thrown off the ABC Network. What happened in Iraq was a conspiracy, pure and simple. And, Ricky Morton, if it takes me to my dying days, I’m going to get you. Right now, my boys are celebrating becoming the new National Tag Team Champions, and I’m going to go join them before I say something I know I won’t regret, but everyone else will!” Cornette stormed out of the ring, and Morton just watched him leave before speaking again. “He’s not a happy camper, is he? Well, anyway, Bill, there’s something else I wanted to say. You see, I’m still the LWF World Cruiserweight Champion. But, you know, Robbie and I have been up and down too many roads together, and tag team titles mean much more to us than singles titles. So, I’ve already told Bill Watts that, as of right now, I’m vacating the Cruiserweight belt, and the LWF can do with it as they wish. I’m sure Bill will do the right thing and give the great cruiserweights in this company a shot at this belt.” Morton handed Apter the belt, and he and Gibson thanked the fans once again before Morton left the ringside area prior to the next match.
ROBERT GIBSON of the ROCK ’N’ ROLL EXPRESS (low-b) beat “PRETTY BOY” LARRY SHARPE (low) with a Sleeper (Referee: James Beard) --As Gibson celebrated his win with the fans, an LWF official ran to him and said something to him, and Gibson immediately dashed to the back. After the commercial break, a camera had caught up to him in the dressing room area, where Morton lay in a pool of blood. EMT’s arrived on the scene as Gibson agonized over his unconscious friend. Suddenly, as Morton was being wheeled into the ambulance, Gibson took off towards the heel dressing room and started screaming for Cornette and the Midnight Express. The Andersons, Angelo Mosca, Jacques Rougeau, Buff Bagwell and Barry Windham surrounded Gibson and looked to be about to attack him until Dusty Rhodes, Christopher Daniels, Chris Hero, Bob Backlund and the Steiners came to pull Gibson out of the lion’s den, and security ran in as well to prevent an all-out war from erupting, causing the camera to jostle around. In the melee, Windham told him, “Too late, Gibson, they took off already!”
NEW AGE OUTLAWS (“Bad Ass” Billy Gunn & “Road Dogg” Jesse James) (low) beat DEMOLITION (Ax & Smash) (low-b) (w/ “Captain” Lou Albano) (low) when Gunn beat Smash with a Power Slam (Referee: Tommy Young)
----------Tenay & Matysik commentary---------
“ENFORCER” ARN ANDERSON (low-b) (w/ “Rock” Ole Anderson) (low-b) beat CHRIS HERO (low-c) (w/ “Fallen Angel” Christopher Daniels) (low-c) by disqualification when the referee caught Daniels attacking Arn after the ref missed seeing Ole attack Hero (Referee: Mark Curtis)
MR. GANNOSUKE (low-c) & “MOUNTIE” JACQUES ROUGEAU (low) beat “NATURE BOY” BUDDY ROGERS (low) & TIGER MASK (low) when Gannosuke beat Tiger with the Piledriver Through Table finisher (Referee: Nick Patrick) --The piledriver occurred as Referee Patrick was occupied with Rogers and Rougeau, who were fighting wildly in the ring. Outside the ring, Gannosuke piledrove Tiger Mask through Tenay & Matysik’s table and then rolled him back into the ring to get the pin, with Rogers getting back to the ring just moments too late. Tiger Mask lay motionless as Rogers, the referee and LWF personnel tended to the Japanese star. EMT’s arrived and placed a neck brace on Tiger Mask before carefully placing him on a gurney and wheeling him out before a hushed crowd.
After the commercial break, backstage, Gene Okerlund was with Rougeau and Gannosuke, who were laughing about Tiger Mask’s injuries. Bill Watts entered the picture and told Rougeau that he would have to wrestle Dusty Rhodes next week, and he said, “You can leave your shock stick at home, because, if you so much as TOUCH it, you will not only be disqualified, you will be SUSPENDED! And as for you, Gannosuke, we’ve already planned a Round Robin Tournament for the World Cruiserweight Title. You’ve already signed the contract to be in it, so your opponent next week will be … SABU!”
MISSING LINK (low) (w/ Bobby “The Brain” Heenan) (low) beat GEORGE SOUTH (low) with the Back Flying Head Butt finisher (Referee: Earl Hebner)
----------Solie & Ross commentary---------
LWF WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE NUMBER ONE CONTENDER MATCH DORY FUNK JR. (low-b) beat BUFF BAGWELL (low) with a rollup after Bagwell ran into the turnbuckle to earn the title shot at the Rumble Royale Pay-Per-View event on January 27, 2008 (Referee: D*ick Woherle)
“ROCK” OLE ANDERSON (low-b) beat LOU THESZ (low-b) with the Falling Face Slam finisher (Referee: Bronko Lubich) --LWF World Heavyweight Champion Samoa Joe sat ringside with Solie and Ross, saying he’d be happy to give Thesz a title rematch “anytime, anywhere.” Thesz had Anderson in trouble when Arn came to ringside and climbed onto the ring apron. Joe got up from his seat and pulled Arn to the floor. Thesz let go of Anderson and started yelling at Joe, “I don’t need your help!” Ole then grabbed Thesz and gave him his Face Slam, making the cover as Referee Lubich turned around and made the 1-2-3 count. After the match, Joe and Thesz argued before being separated by referees.
LWF MAIN EVENT--LWF NATIONAL HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE MATCH, NO DISQUALIFICATION DAVID VON ERICH (low-b) beat “AMERICAN DREAM” DUSTY RHODES (low-b) with the Iron Claw finisher to win the held-up belt (Referee: Scrappy McGowan) --As the match went on, a large, vicious looking man showed up at ringside and took a swipe at Rhodes’ leg from the floor. Rhodes turned around to jaw with the intruder, but, when he turned back around, Von Erich met him with the Claw, and Rhodes, a trickle of blood appearing on his forehead, went down and was pinned. As Von Erich held the belt up and celebrated, the intruder entered the ring and just stood there looking at Von Erich. Rhodes regained his feet, saw the man, and spun him around to confront him. Just then, Von Erich charged with belt in hand, seemingly, towards the stranger, but the man got out of the way, and Von Erich instead nailed Rhodes, knocking him out. Von Erich and the man had a brief staredown before both men broke out in big grins, shook hands and hugged, and the man held Von Erich’s hand in the air in triumph as the show left the air.
Highlights will air, along with matches taped earlier in the night, this Saturday morning at 9 a.m. Eastern/8 a.m. Central on LWF World Class Weekend, hosted by Bill Mercer, on ESPN.

BOB BACKLUND (low-b) beat BARRY WINDHAM (low-b) with a Delayed Vertical Suplex (Referee: James Beard)
DORY FUNK JR. (low-b) beat MISSING LINK (low) (w/ Bobby “The Brain” Heenan) (low) with an Indian Death Lock while holding Heenan down with an Inside Cradle (Referee: Earl Hebner)
LWF PRIME TIME WRESTLING MAIN EVENT ROBERT GIBSON of the ROCK ’N’ ROLL EXPRESS (low-b) beat “LOVERBOY” DENNIS CONDREY (low) (w/ Jim Cornette) (low) by countout (Referee: D*ick Woherle) --The match didn’t last long before Cornette inexplicably called Condrey out of the ring, and they went to the back, leaving Gibson wondering what was going on. After being declared the winner, Gibson jumped to the floor and charged to the back. An interview camera near the “Gorilla position” found Cornette and all three of the Midnight Express waiting to ambush Gibson. They jumped him, but, suddenly, from out of nowhere, Ricky Morton, whom the Express assaulted in the dressing room and sent to the hospital last week, started wailing away at them all with a chair, even nailing Cornette in the process. It took a battalion of referees and LWF officials to separate the two factions as TV time expired.
ABC & The LWF Present WORLD CLASS CHAMPIONSHIP WRESTLING on ABC-TV (8 p.m. Eastern/7 p.m. Central Mondays, hosted by Gordon Solie & Jim Ross (hours 1 & 3), Mike Tenay & Larry Matysik (hour 2), Bill Apter, “Mean Gene” Okerlund & Gary Michael Cappetta)
----------Solie & Ross commentary---------
“NATURE BOY” BUDDY ROGERS (low) beat TERRY FUNK (low-b) with the Figure Four Grapevine finisher after knocking Funk and Jacques Rougeau’s heads together; after the match, Funk and Rougeau had a shoving match and had to be separated by referees (Referee: Gilberto Roman)
Bill Apter brought out National Champion David Von Erich and the man who assisted him last week. Von Erich identified the man as Fritz Von Goering. Von Erich explained, “You see, Bill, I always thought of myself on a different level from my brothers, but everyone insisted on putting me in this neat little goody-goody box. Kevin and Kerry loved the fan adoration. I went along with it, but, deep down inside, I wanted to be more serious about this sport. I didn’t want to be a pinup boy, I wanted to WRESTLE! I wanted to become a champion. Don’t get me wrong, Bill, I love my brothers, but, to tell you the truth, they were holding me back. They wanted to hear the screaming of little girls. I wanted to hear the screaming of my opponents in pain. When they left on a world tour, I decided to make my move. I knew about the reputation of this man (gesturing to Von Goering) in his hometown of Berlin. He was feared and despised there, simply because he was successful and didn’t care what anybody thought. Basically, Bill, I asked him to help me get back to my roots. In the last few weeks, he’s brought out my inner German. I may have been born American and raised a Texan, but, deep down inside, my blood is undeniably German. That’s why you see me with this title belt today. I am one step closer to the World Title I want, and, with this man’s help, I will GET it!” Apter turned to Von Goering, who said, “Bill Apter, what you see before you is the new age German. This man, David Von Erich, is finally being true to himself and his heritage. He has a ruthlessness now that he was not allowed to have before. And, since he defeated the so-called ‘American Dream’ for this belt, I think it would be entirely appropriate that, from this day forward, David Von Erich is now to be referred to as … ‘The GERMAN NIGHTMARE!’”
FRITZ VON GOERING (low) (w/ “German Nightmare” David Von Erich) beat GEORGE SOUTH (low) with a Cobra Clutch (Referee: Tommy Young)
FOOTBALL CHALLENGE--$4000 ON THE LINE “DOGFACED GREMLIN” RICK STEINER (low-c) (w/ Scott Steiner) (low-c) beat “KING KONG” ANGELO MOSCA (low) (w/ Sir Oliver Humperdink) (low) when Rick gave Mosca a Steinerline and grabbed the money while Scott pulled Humperdink down off of the ring apron (Referee: Scrappy McGowan) --Humperdink climbed onto the apron to try to protect his money as Rick gained the advantage, but Scott pulled him to the floor and leveled him with a clothesline. Rick ran over Mosca with the Steinerline and grabbed the money to the cheers of the fans. The Steiners celebrated with the fans, leaving Humperdink and Mosca to wonder what had just happened to them.
----------Tenay & Matysik commentary---------
LWF NATIONAL HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE MATCH Champion “GERMAN NIGHTMARE” DAVID VON ERICH (low-b) (w/ Fritz Von Goering) (low) beat “PRETTY BOY” LARRY SHARPE (low) with the Iron Claw finisher to retain the belt (Referee: Johnny “Red Shoes“ Dugan) --Originally a non-title match, Von Erich said he was feeling charitable and wanted to give Sharpe the first crack at his new title. As Von Goering looked on in approval, Von Erich destroyed the “Pretty Boy” and opened him up with the Claw. Von Erich then waited until the last possible moment of Referee Dugan’s count before releasing the hold, raising a bloody hand in victory as Von Goering got in a stomp on the near-unconscious Sharpe.
LOU THESZ (low-b) beat BUFF BAGWELL (low) with the Greco-Roman Backdrop finisher (Referee: Bronko Lubich) --After the match, Thesz took the ringside mic from Cappetta. “I want to call out Mr. Ole Anderson, because I have some unfinished business with him. Mr. Anderson, would you come out, please?” Ole and his partner, Arn Anderson, the World Tag Team Champions, came out, and Thesz said, “Mr. Anderson, first of all, I only called you out. There is no need for your cousin to be here right now. What I want, Mr. Anderson, is redemption. I cannot let your victory blemish my record as a once and future World Heavyweight Champion. What I want, Mr. Anderson, is a rematch.” The Andersons laughed, and Ole said, “A rematch? Look, Thesz, do you know who Arn and I are? We’re the World Tag Team Champions. We don’t have time to accept every one-on-one challenge we get, because we’re in constant training for tag team matches. But, I’ll tell you what, Thesz. You find a partner, and we’ll take you on in a tag team match. How about that?” Thesz thought for a moment before saying, “I’d much rather have a singles match with you, but, to tell you the truth, I can beat you in tag team or singles competition. It doesn’t matter who my partner is, because I can beat you.” LWF General Manager Bill Watts came out and told Thesz, “Lou, you don’t have to go looking for a partner, because I found you one.” He gestured towards the back, and out came … LWF World Heavyweight Champion (and Thesz nemesis) Samoa Joe! The Andersons protested, but Joe got in Thesz’s face and said, “Lou, you’re not Superman. I know you think you can take on both of these bums by yourself, but you can’t. I don’t like you, but I respect you. Let’s have this match, Lou. Once we win, we can go our separate ways.” He then offered his hand, and Thesz, after a few moments of hesitation, shook it. The Andersons attacked, but Joe & Thesz quickly regrouped and chased the tag champs out of the ring before having an uneasy staredown and leaving separately.
After the commercial break, Tenay confirmed that the match has been signed for next week; meanwhile, the Andersons will have a non-title match against Christopher Daniels & Chris Hero tonight, and, if Daniels and Hero win, they get a title shot at Rumble Royale, but, if they lose, they get no more title shots as long as the Andersons are the champs.
LWF CRUISERWEIGHT ROUND ROBIN TOURNAMENT MATCH “HOMICIDAL, SUICIDAL, GENOCIDAL” SABU (low) (w/ “Grand Wizard“ Abdullah Farouk) (low) beat MR. GANNOSUKE (low-c) by disqualification after Farouk tried to slide a chair in to Sabu, but Gannosuke intercepted it and hit Sabu with it (Referee: Mark Curtis) --Farouk tried to apologize, but Sabu shoved him, pointed at the sky, and left, with Farouk chasing closely behind. Meanwhile, in the back, Watts told Gene Okerlund that the first man to lose two matches in this tournament will be eliminated, leaving the other two men to battle for the vacant LWF World Cruiserweight belt at Rumble Royale … in a Ladder Match! Watts added that, since Tiger Mask is still on the shelf following the spike piledriver at the hands of Mr. Gannosuke and Jacques Rougeau, next week, Sabu will face … former Cruiserweight titleholder Jushin “Thunder” Liger! The loser of that match will face Gannosuke the following week for a spot in the Ladder Match.
----------Solie & Ross commentary---------
DEMOLITION AX (low-b) (w/ “Captain” Lou Albano & Demolition Smash) (low/low-b) beat “ROAD DOGG” JESSE JAMES of the NEW AGE OUTLAWS (low) (w/ “Bad Ass” Billy Gunn) (low) with a Double Thrust To The Throat (Referee: David Manning)
“AMERICAN DREAM” DUSTY RHODES (low-b) beat “MOUNTIE” JACQUES ROUGEAU (low) with a Cross-Body Block (Referee: Nick Patrick) --Without his shock stick, Rougeau was at a disadvantage as the “Dream” took advantage and won. After the match, Rhodes took the mic. “David Von Erich, Fritz Von Goering, listen to me and listen to me good. It’s not about titles anymore, it’s all about PRIDE! David Von Erich, you’re turning your back on your family, you’re turning your back on your country! Fritz Von Goering, I know damn well who you are. Fritz Von Goering, I want you in this ring, and I want you NOW!” Rhodes stormed around as Solie told the viewing audience that Von Goering and Von Erich had already left the building, and LWF Senior Official Johnny Dugan came out and told Rhodes the same thing. Rhodes said, “They can run tonight, but I’m gonna talk to Bill Watts, and I know he’s gonna give me what I want. I want Von Goering, NEXT WEEK, baby!”
LWF MAIN EVENT--NON-TITLE MATCH “FALLEN ANGEL” CHRISTOPHER DANIELS (low-c) & CHRIS HERO (low-c) beat LWF World Tag Team Champions MINNESOTA WRECKING CREW (“Enforcer” Arn Anderson & “Rock” Ole Anderson) (low-b) when Daniels beat Ole with the Angel’s Wings finisher (Referee: Dave Hebner) --Because of the win, Daniels & Hero will now face the Andersons at Rumble Royale for the titles.
Highlights will air, along with matches taped earlier in the night, Tuesday night at 10 p.m. Eastern/9 p.m. Central on LWF Prime Time Wrestling on ABC Family.

ABC & The LWF Present WORLD CLASS CHAMPIONSHIP WRESTLING on ABC-TV (8 p.m. Eastern/7 p.m. Central Mondays, hosted by Gordon Solie & Jim Ross (hours 1 & 3), Mike Tenay & Larry Matysik (hour 2), Bill Apter, “Mean Gene” Okerlund & Gary Michael Cappetta)
----------Solie & Ross commentary---------
DORY FUNK JR. (low) beat BARRY WINDHAM (low-b) with the Butterfly Suplex finisher (Referee: Earl Hebner) --After the match, Funk took the mic. “In two weeks, I have a match against Samoa Joe for his World Heavyweight Title at the Rumble Royale. Instead of worrying about me, Joe is worried about Lou Thesz. I want to tell BOTH men that they can fight each other, team with each other, whatever they want to do. At the end of the Pay-Per-View, the title belt will be on its way to the Double Cross Ranch with a new owner wearing it.”
In the ring, Bill Apter brought out Rick & Scott Steiner, and Rick had the $4000 he won from Angelo Mosca last week in the Football Challenge. Rick said, “You know, Bill, it’s just a shame I didn’t get this money before Christmas, but, now that I’ve got it, I’m going to go out and buy some nice Christmas presents with it.” Just then, Mosca and his manager, Sir Oliver Humperdink, came out, with Humperdink complaining about Scott’s interference in the match, ignoring the fact that he was about to interfere himself until Scott grabbed him off the apron. Humperdink and Mosca maneuvered the Steiners around, enabling a sneak attack by … “The Mountie,” Jacques Rougeau! Rougeau and Mosca slammed and stomped the Steiners, and Rougeau zapped both ex-Michigan standouts with his shock stick. With the Steiners down, Rougeau took the mic. “Listen, you pathetic Southern Americans here in Alabama, you have seen The Mountie taken advantage of for the last time! I now have top-level management to make sure that I go all the way to the top of the LWF, and I now have a fellow Canadian to watch my back at all times! And now, the Canadian National Anthem!” Rougeau began to sing “O Canada” (badly) as Mosca and Humperdink placed their hands over their hearts. As Scott Steiner started to get up, Rougeau zapped him again, never missing a beat on the song. He finished, and the trio left as fans threw things at them, but not before Mosca grabbed the $4000 from the downed Rick Steiner.
CRUISERWEIGHT ROUND-ROBIN MATCH JUSHIN “THUNDER” LIGER (low) beat “HOMICIDAL, SUICIDAL, GENOCIDAL” SABU (low) (w/ “Grand Wizard” Abdullah Farouk) (low) with the Brainbuster finisher (Referee: Dave Hebner) --With Sabu on the ring apron, Liger, a former World Cruiserweight Champion, hooked Sabu for a suplex. When he had Sabu vertical, Farouk reached in and grabbed Liger’s leg, but Liger successfully executed a Brainbuster and got the pin. As Liger left the ring, Farouk attempted to apologize to Sabu, who shoved him away. This loss means Sabu will face Mr. Gannosuke again next week, with the winner facing Liger in the Ladder Match for the vacant Cruiserweight belt at Rumble Royale, and the loser having two losses in the round-robin and therefore out of the tournament.
Before the next match, the LegendsVision screen replayed David Von Erich and Fritz Von Goering’s statements from last week about how Kevin & Kerry Von Erich were holding David back and more interested in the cheers of the fans than in being champions.
LWF NATIONAL HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE MATCH Champion “GERMAN NIGHTMARE” DAVID VON ERICH (low-b) (w/ Fritz Von Goering) (low) beat GEORGE SOUTH (low) with a Jumping Knee Smash to retain the belt (Referee: Bronko Lubich) --Like he did last week with Larry Sharpe, Von Erich offered a title match to the largely unsuccessful South, who remained unsuccessful as Von Erich put him away quickly. Not satisfied with winning the match, as Von Goering distracted Lubich, Von Erich put the Iron Claw on South and split his forehead open. As blood poured from South’s head, suddenly, Kevin Von Erich charged the ring and pulled David off. Kevin, not seen on World Class Championship Wrestling since November 12, was joined by a young man Ross identified as younger brother Mike Von Erich. Solie noted that Kerry Von Erich was wrestling in Mexico tonight. Kevin got a microphone and asked David, “Hey, Dave, what’s going on, man? I heard what you said last week about me and Kerry. That just didn’t sound like you. Holding you back? Man, we didn’t hold you back. If anybody was holding you back, it was YOU!” David was about to reply when Von Goering stepped in. “Listen, you punk, for all his life, David Von Erich toed the line with you and your brother. But, now, he’s his own man. He’s the ‘German Nightmare,’ and he’s the National Heavyweight Champion. And, when he wins the Rumble Royale, he’s going to be one pinfall away from becoming the World Heavyweight Champion. Why don’t you just go back to Texas and mind your own business? And take your snot-nosed baby brother, there, with you!” Kevin attacked Von Goering and mounted him, pounding away and raising his hand to put the Claw on him as David and Mike stood by. Just as he was going for it, David hooked his arm and stopped him. Kevin stood up, he and David started arguing, and Mike went to pull David away. David wheeled around and SLAPPED THE CLAW ON MIKE! As Kevin was trying to pull David off, Von Goering caught him in the Cobra Clutch. Fans watched in horror as David opened up his little brother with the Claw and Kevin started convulsing in the Clutch. Dusty Rhodes, Bob Backlund, Christopher Daniels and Chris Hero ran out, but the damage had been done as David Von Erich and Von Goering quickly slid out of the ring and walked to the back, watching with smiles on their faces as Kevin and Mike were tended to, particularly Mike and his open wound.
----------Tenay & Matysik commentary---------
After the commercial break, Tenay and Matysik talked about the horrific scene everyone had just witnessed, noting that Mike Von Erich was receiving medical attention while a still-groggy Kevin Von Erich was throwing things backstage. Meanwhile, they threw it to Gene Okerlund backstage with Jim Cornette and the Midnight Express. Cornette said he knew that Andre The Giant was entered in the Rumble Royale 30-man Battle Royal match. Cornette said, “Andre The Giant, don’t think I’ve forgotten about the part you played in that embarrassment in the Iraqi desert. Well, I’ve got news for you, big boy! I’m bringing in one of the few men on the entire planet who can look you in the eye, and he’s going to be in the Rumble Royale. If the luck of the draw works out, Andre, you’re going to find out what it’s like to pick on someone your own size!”
CHRIS HERO (low-c) beat MISSING LINK (low) (w/ Bobby “The Brain” Heenan) (low) after Link ran chest-first into the turnbuckle at full speed; Hero scored the win with a Schoolboy Rollup (Referee: Nick Patrick)
“NATURE BOY” BUDDY ROGERS (low) beat “SWEET” STAN LANE of the MIDNIGHT EXPRESS (low) (w/ Jim Cornette) (low) by disqualification when, while Rogers caught Lane in the Figure Four Grapevine, the rest of the Midnight Express jumped Rogers (Referee: David Manning) --The quadruple-team lasted until the Rock ‘N’ Roll Express ran out and evened things up, helping Rogers chase Cornette and his men off.
----------Solie & Ross commentary---------
TERRY FUNK (low-b) beat “MOUNTIE” JACQUES ROUGEAU (low) (w/ “King Kong” Angelo Mosca & “Sir” Oliver Humperdink) (low) with the Spinning Toe Hold finisher (Referee: Scrappy McGowan) --Rougeau was going for the shock stick in the corner when Dory Funk Jr. showed up in the aisle. Mosca and Humperdink started towards him, and Terry Funk took advantage of the distraction and got Rougeau in his famous finisher, forcing a tapout before Mosca and Hump could run back to ringside.
“AMERICAN DREAM” DUSTY RHODES (low-b) beat FRITZ VON GOERING (low) (w/ “German Nightmare” David Von Erich) by countout (Referee: Gilberto Roman) --As the match went on, Kevin Von Erich tried to charge the ring, held back by wrestlers and referees. Von Goering and David both left the ring to taunt him, but they lost track of the count, with the match going to Rhodes. As the bell rang, the wrestlers and officials lost their grip on Kevin, and he shot like a bullet towards Von Goering and David. Rhodes left the ring and joined in the attack as nearly the entire LWF roster came out to try to separate everybody. They finally did, with Von Goering and David forced to leave through the crowd and out the arena lobby and Kevin screaming revenge for what they did to Mike.
LWF MAIN EVENT--NON-TITLE MATCH LWF World Heavyweight Champion “SAMOAN SUBMISSION MACHINE” SAMOA JOE (low-c) & LOU THESZ (low-b) beat LWF World Tag Team Champions MINNESOTA WRECKING CREW (“Enforcer” Arn Anderson & “Rock” Ole Anderson) (low-b) when Thesz beat Arn with a Dropkick (Referee: Mark Curtis) --Joe and Thesz didn’t look happy to be teaming with each other, but they worked well together for the most part. Joe had Arn in The Choke when Thesz made a blind tag, and Curtis forced Joe out of the ring as Thesz hit a dropkick right on the button to knock Arn out for the pin as Joe barreled over Ole. Joe and Thesz shook hands, but Joe wouldn’t let go, and the two had an intense staredown as TV time expired.
Highlights will air, along with matches taped earlier in the night, Tuesday night at 10 p.m. Eastern/9 p.m. Central on LWF Prime Time Wrestling on ABC Family.
