Card #199 - 10/27/2006 Memorial Auditorium - Utica, NY
This was the NWF's debut in Utica, with Antonino Rocca attempting to end The Sheik's unholy reign of terror and win the North American Title.
1. Playboy Buddy Rose b Yukon Eric Rose won with the Bombs Away after a foreign object shot, ending Yukon's recent four match winning streak. He had lots of help from manager Sherri Martel.
2. Nick Bockwinkel & Ray Stevens b S.D. Jones & Virgil This was the first match reuniting the legendary team of Bockwinkel & Stevens. They showed no signs of ring rust and Bockwinkel finished off Virgil with the Figure 4 Leglock.
3. Don Leo Jonathan b Koko B. Ware After his recent series of matches against The Sheik, Jonathan was not in a good mood. He took his frustrations out on Koko and won with the Mormon Swing.
4. Steve Corino b Justin Credible This was Corino's second NWF match. He scored an inpressive win over Credible, who has had a lot of singles success over the last couple of months. He won with Old School Expulsion, and had Tammy Sytch at ringside, which Candido never allowed when Credible was his partner.
5. Rikidozan & Antonio Inoki b Ilio DiPaolo & Dan Severn Severn & DiPaolo teamed against a "common enemy" but suffered from lack of coordination as a tandem. Inoki pinned Ilio after an Enzuigiri.
6. Giant Baba b Richard Hutton This was the rematch after a double countout on the last show. This one was all Baba, and he won his 15th match of the year with the dreaded Neckbreaker Drop. There is a lot of talk that Hutton & Severn will be dissolving their tag-team and leaving the NWF shortly.
7. The Crusher b Larry Zbyszko (No One Allowed at Ringside) After Heenan's interference kept costing The Crusher victories, this match was set up. Crusher looked like a tank, just plowing over Zbyszko the entire match. Crusher got the win (Zbyszko's first pinfall loss) with a top rope bodypress (?) but was attacked by Ray Stevens after the match. Zbyszko held him down while Stevens did two Bombs Away knee drops to Crusher's ribs. Looks like Crusher will be injured for about 5 weeks, which may hurt his chances as the next challenger for Bockwinkel's NWF Championship.
8. The Masked Executioners & Magnificent Muraco b The Flying Redheads & Jimmy Snuka When the Redheads were looking for a partner, Snuka was the first man they went to. While no longer the fan favorite that he once was (although he's been getting more cheers of late), he has always had a score to settle with Lou Albano, as well as having history with Muraco. Lots of Snuka & Muraco confrontations, which the crowd was really into, although Muraco looked to win those battles easily. The Redheads against the Executioners was pretty even until the end when a beat up Lyons submitted to #1's stomach claw.
9. North American Championship: The Sheik b Antonino Rocca What a huge main event for the Utica debut! The unpinned Sheik taking on the hugely popular Rocca for the NA belt! Rocca showed an early flurry, but made the mistake of tossing The Sheik out of the ring. That led to all sorts of carnage by The Sheik, who used his sharp object to bloody up the challenger. The end came when Sheik used the object, then locked Rocca in the Camel Clutch for the win. With this victory, it will assure The Sheik of a one-year streak of having never been pinned or submitted since entering the NWF.
There you have it! Another spectacular NWF show! Things won't slow down either, as the next show is big #200 from The Aud in Buffalo, and features my first ever Battle Royal! The winner of the 16 man over the top rope affair will face Nick Bockwinkel (boo!) for the NWF Title in the main event! Other matches signed include a rematch between Justin Credible and Steve Corino, Mad Dog Vachon versus Larry Zbyszko, the Flying Redheads against Magnificent Muraco & Lou Albano and The Crusher will fight through his rib injury to take on Ray Stevens! Also on the show is the debut of Justin Credible's new tag partner Danny Doring!

Great stuff Tim. Looking forward to seeing who wins your first battle royal. I have run about 100 in my years of playing, to me they are lots of fun.
Looking forward to the World League Challenge as well. I'm interested to see who will represent the US. Bockwinkle has to be the favorite being the champ, but there are a ton of other choices. Although I'm pretty sure it won't be Virgil. ;D

Participants for my first ever Battle Royal on Card #200:
1. Red Bastien 2. Chris Candido 3. Steve Corino 4. Justin Credible 5. The Crusher 6. Ilio DiPaolo 7. Danny Doring 8. Don Leo Jonathan 9. Billy "Red" Lyons 10. Magnificent Muraco 11. Playboy Buddy Rose 12. Jimmy Snuka 13. Mad Dog Vachon 14. Koko B. Ware 15. Yukon Eric 16. Larry Zybszko
The winner will get a title shot at Nick Bockwinkel in the main event! It will be a tough road to the title, as every man has a match on the show already, plus the Battle Royal. That means the winner will wrestle three times on the night!
Bobby Heenan had Larry Zybszko enter with the sole purpose of eliminating Mad Dog Vachon and The Crusher.
Who will emerge the victor? Can they win the title from a well-rested Bockwinkel? Have you seen the muffin man? All these questions will be answered on Card #200! Well, maybe not the muffin man question.

Have you seen the muffin man? All these questions will be answered on Card #200! Well, maybe not the muffin man question. YES! A good old Space Ghost reference! Old school! Last week, two different people at work referred to songs that Brak covered on his CDs. One was the "someone left a cake in the rain" song, the other was "the song that never ends". In the words of Zorak, "Freaky!"

Card # 200 - 11/03/2006 The Aud - Buffalo, NY
Landmark #200 featured my first ever Battle Royal since I started promoting in December 1986. With November's first card also came the beginning of the build to the SUPERBOWL OF WRESTLING 4, the year's final show.
1. Chris Candido dq Danny Doring A rough debut for Doring, who showed little against Candido. The Suicide Blonde used the Blonde Bomb on Doring, only to see Justin Credible hit the ring and clean house with the Singapore Cane for the DQ.
2. Riviera Playboys b Don Leo Jonathan & Yukon Eric This was a crazy tag battle that saw everyone get beaten on. Sherri Martel was ultimately the difference maker, distracting the ref when Yukon had Koko pinned. This allowed Koko time to recover and hit the Ghostbuster on a bloody Eric for the win. Continues a rough streak for Yukon & Jonathan, who have had high quality matches, but little success.
3. Steve Corino b Justin Credible After what seemed like a fluke win in their first meeting, Corino scored another win with Old School Expulsion. Of course he was helped along by a steel chair, ring bell and various other plunder.
4. 16 Man Battle Royal for NWF Title Shot in tonight's main event! See my prior post for the entrants. The atmosphere was electric as everyone came to the ring. Once the bell rang, it was a chaotic free-for-all. Results were as follows: - Candido eliminated DiPaolo - Credible eliminated Corino - Credible eliminated Koko - Zybszko eliminated The Crusher - Rose eliminated Yukon Eric - Lyons eliminated Doring - Vachon eliminated Snuka - Lyons eliminated Muraco - Vachon eliminated Zybszko - Lyons eliminated Rose - Vachon eliminated Credible - Vachon eliminated Candido - Vachon, Lyons & Bastien eliminated Jonathan - Vachon eliminated Bastien - Billy "Red" Lyons eliminated Mad Dog Vachon to win the Battle Royal! Vachon & Lyons were the standouts. Zbyszko managed to complete one half of his assignment, as he tossed Crusher, but was eliminated by Mad Dog. Vachon was left against the Flying Redheads, but managed to dump Bastien. Lyons was the fresher of the two and hit a big dropkick and then atomic dropped Vachon over the top for the victory!
5. Jimmy Snuka b Ilio DiPaolo Solid match that could have gone either way. Neither could hit their finisher until a +3 Superfly ended things. Snuka is starting to get more fan support due to his feud with the Executioners.
6. Larry Zybszko b Mad Dog Vachon Zbyszko removed the turnbuckle pad during the bout, which wound up having an effect on the outcome. Vachon was whipped into the exposed buckle, then tossed out of the ring where his back was slammed into the ring post. Soon after, he was on the wrong end of a Piledriver and was pinned.
7. Flying Redheads b Magnificent Muraco & Lou Albano Lyons showed no signs of holding back for his title match with Bockwinkel, but both he and Bastien ran into a wrecking machine in Magnificent Muraco. Muraco eventually tired, having worked 95% of the bout. He was thrown into the buckle, and Albano reached out to block the impact which the referee ruled as a tag (despite Albano's pleas otherwise). Lou got creamed, and submitted to Lyons' Figure 4 Leglock in Billy's second big victory of the evening.
8. Ray Stevens b The Crusher A lot of testicular fortitude shown by Crusher, who took the fight despite his injury. He was obviously hampered, but still appeared to have the victory in hand after a devastating Bolo Punch. Unfortunately, Heenan had the ref distracted, which led to a sneak attack by Stevens, who got the three count after a Bombs Away.
9. NWF Championship: Nick Bockwinkel b Billy "Red" Lyons After a grueling Battle Royal and lengthy tag match, Lyons had his work cut put for him against a well-rested Bockwinkel (boo!). Still, he came out fast and had a couple of early near falls before finally tiring. Bockwinkel kept choking him to wear him down even more. Eventually, fatigue caught up with Lyons, who was pinned after one of the many time Bockwinkel choked him on the ropes.
What a gutsy performance by Billy "Red" Lyons on this historic show! The NWF won't take a backwards step, as Card #201 moves down the NY Thruway to the Rochester War Memorial! The huge main event will be a Texas Death Match for the NWF Tag-Team Championship! Lou Albano's Masked Executioners will defend against the team of Bruiser Brody & Jimmy Snuka, who have two DQ wins over the champs! You'll also see a rematch between The Crusher and Ray Stevens and a three-way tag-team contest featuring Giant Baba & Antonio Inoki taking on Antonino Rocca & Ilio DiPaolo and Dan Severn & Richard Hutton! In other news, Playboy Buddy Rose has been pushing for a NWF Title match due to his recent success. The NWF Board of Directors granted him a title match, but not with Nick Bockwinkel. Rose will face The Sheik for the North American belt on Card #202!! Rose was both shocked and appalled, as he wants nothing to do with the madman from Syria!

**NWF NEWSFLASH** It has just been announced that Jimmy Valiant will be returning to the NWF! Valiant, who left the area at the end of April, is expected to debut on the next show. Before leaving, the Valiant Brothers were embroiled in a bitter feud with the Heenan Family. It was Heenan's battery of attorneys who were responsible for the Valiants leaving the territory. Jimmy has been wrestling as a single for the last six months, and is looking to get back at Heenan. Will he be able to work alongside former Heenan Family member Mad Dog Vachon? Stay tuned to see what happens on Card #201 from the War Memorial in Rochester, NY!

Just in case people aren't aware - Cory Olson started posting his USWA results in the forum. I've read his results for a long time, and he has a real good fed going - so check it out.
Of course, it's not nearly as good as the NWF!
Now, if Chad ever starts playing again...

Now, if Chad ever starts playing again... I think we can both agree that my brother is the best promoter, who never actually plays the game. Thanks for your compliments as well, Tim! Can't wait to read more results! (Although, I do know some of the stuff that happened already!)

Card #201 - 11/10/2006 War Memorial - Rochester, NY
1. Koko B. Ware b Yukon Eric Solid opener in this big man/little man matchup. Sherri Martel pushed Yukon off the middle turnbuckle as he was going for a move, which turned the momentum. Koko managed to get Yukon up for the Ghostbuster and got the three count. Yukon demanded a rematch with Sherri barred from ringside.
2. Chris Candido & Steve Corino b Justin Credible & Danny Doring There is some real heat building between Credible and Corino. Corino has wins in their two singles bouts, but Credible eliminated Corino in the big Battle Royal on the last show. The two ponded on each other in this contest, where everyone but Candido was a bloody mess. Candido pinned former tag partner Credible with the Blonde Bomb.
3. "Boogie Woogie" Jimmy Valiant b Bobby Heenan Valiant has returned with a long beard and a new funky attitude. He's looking at putting a hurt on the Heenan Family, and started with the manager. Heenan was tricked into signing for the match, thinking he was taking on S.D. Jones. Jones claimed he was "injured" but found a suitable replacement. The match was all Valiant. When Ray Stevens tried to interfere, he was laid out by The Crusher. Valiant won with the Sleeper.
4. Playboy Buddy Rose dq Sabu This was supposed to be a "tune up" match for Rose, who will face The Sheik for the North American Title at the next show. Rose scored a quick near fall, but spent most of the bout running from Sabu. Eventually Sabu caught him and was DQ'd for using the Arabian Facebuster.
5. Magnificent Muraco b Red Bastien Muraco has been dominant recently, but struggled early against Bastien. He turned things around using the Asiatic Spike and pinned Red with his third Hawaiian Hammer of the match.
6. Giant Baba & Antonio Inoki b Antonino Rocca & Ilio DiPaolo and Dan Severn & Richard Hutton Lots of action and high powered offense. Inoki took a huge beating at the start, and it got wild from there. Finishers were flying and the end saw Rocca get buried by three of Baba's dreaded Neckbreaker Drops for the win.
7. Mad Dog Vachon dq Larry Zbyszko This was a rematch from the last show, and it broke down in a hurry. After being beaten outside the ring for most of the match, a frustrated Zbyszko whacked Vachon with a chair for the DQ. Vachon grabbed the chair and chased both Zbyszko and Heenan to the locker room.
8. Ray Stevens dq The Crusher Another rematch from the last show. This one saw the injury still nagging Crusher. Stevens had him set up for the Bombs Away, but Jimmy Valiant ran in and pushed him off the top rope for the DQ. Crusher and Valiant went after Stevens and Heenan , who bailed out quickly.
9. NWF Tag-Team Championship: Bruiser Brody & Jimmy Snuka b The Masked Executioners (Texas Death Match) After winning two matches over the champs by DQ, Brody & Snuka wanted a decisive victory. The champs had control for a lengthy period before Brody & Snuka cut off the ring on #1 and battered him. Finish saw Snuka hit a flying cross body off the apron onto #2 and Albano while Brody used the big boot to pin #1 and win the tag titles! But the Executioners weren't done. After the fall, they bloodied Snuka with the ring bell and did a number on Brody, who sustained a leg injury in the process.
The wild action never ends in the NWF! For Card #202 we'll head to Monroeville, PA and the Howard Johnson Hotel Ballroom! The main event will have The Sheik defending the North American Title against a reluctant Playboy Buddy Rose! Yukon Eric will get his wish, as he faces Koko B. Ware with no one allowed at ringside. The Crusher & Jimmy Valiant will team to face NWF Champion Nick Bockwinkel (boo!) and partner Ray Stevens. Justin Credible & Danny Doring will get a rematch with Chris Candido & Steve Corino, and Junior Heavyweight legend Danny Hodge will make his NWF debut!
In other NWF news, it appears the trio of Rikidozan, Giant Baba and Antonio Inoki will be returning to Japan next month. Rikidozan has had great success in the NWF, losing only one singles match (to Bruiser Brody) and getting Baba and Inoki to bury the hatchet. This tosses a real monkey wrench into the Top 10, as all three were ranked. Baba has a chance to break the record for singles wins in a year (16), but only has a couple of weeks to get it done.

Four more participants have been announced for the 2007 World League Challenge
YOUSSUF ISHMAELO (TUR) - the Terrible Turk joins the field of sixteen. It will be his first time in NWF territory. His reputation for taking illegal shortcuts is legendary!
JIMMY SNUKA (FIJ) - the Superfly is a three time (and current) NWF Tag-Team champion, and has often been ranked in the Top 10. Can he avoid the inconsistency in the tournament that has kept him from winning singles gold?
GEORGE HACKENSCHMIDT (EST) - a former NWF competitor, Hackenschmidt wasn't in the area for a long time, but did show a lot of strength and ability.
IRON SHEIK (IRI) - the Iranian superstar and former NWF Tag-Team Champion returns to the area for the World League Challenge. His opponents will have to watch for the infamous loaded boot!
Only three more participants left, including the representative from the United States! Will it be NWF kingpin Nick Bockwinkel, or will the honor fall to another wrestler? Only time will tell!
