16 Team Tournament

Here are the results of my third annual sixteen tag team tournament. I ran the tournament in two brackets consisting of eight teams each.

Bracket A:
The Fabulous Kangaroos beat SD Jones and Koko B Ware
Jimmy Snuka and Bruiser Brody beat Mad Dog Vachon and Iron Sheik
Ray Stevens and Nick Bockwinkel beat The Killer Bees
Larry Hennig and Harley Race beat Antonio Inoki and Dan Severn
SEMI FINAL:
Bruiser Brody and Jimmy Snuka beat The Kangaroos
Ray Stevens and Nick Bockwinkel beat Larry Hennig and Harley Race by DQ
FINAL:
Stevens and Bockwinkel fought to a DOUBLE DQ with Brody and Snuka

BRACKET B:
Bob and Brad Armstrong beat Bobby Eaton and Dennis Condrey
Destroyer and Billy Red Lyons beat Crusher and Red Bastien
Steve Williams and Jim Duggan beat Ivan Koloff and Nikolai Volkoff
Road Warriors beat Mike DiBiase and Bob Orton Sr
SEMI FINAL:
Billy Red Lyons and Destroyer beat The Armstrongs
Road Warriors beat Steve Williams and Jim Duggan
FINAL:
BILLY RED LYONS and DESTROYER upset The two time winners of the tournament, The Road Warriors to win the tournament.

Good tourney with an upset in the final. An unusual pairing of Lyons/Destroyer. I'm going to have Ivan Koloff & Volkoff pair up as well as the Bolsheviks.

Stevens and Bockwinkel are the new team to beat, I say. I haven;t seen Stevens' stats yet, but I have a feeling they'll give the Raod Warriors a test every time. Cool tourney!

If their hadn't been the fluke double dq, I feel that Stevens and Bockwinkel would have won it all. They really should be the team that makes waves.

Destroyer and Lyons were regional tag team champions in the real world.
