Due to the extremely large size of the roster the NWA has decided to divide into 3 territories in the United States. The AWA, ECW and Mid-South were put under the management of Vern Gagne, Paul Heyman and Bill Watts.
Mid-South is the second largest of the 3 territories. Bill Watts doesn't believe in filling his cards with squash matches so there's a nice mixture on the shows. Every show will feature 2-3 squash matches and 2-3 name matches. Mid-South will be retaining the Saturday Night time slot on TBS.
Mid-South Roster:
Don Leo Jonathan King Kong Bundy Ravishing Rick Rude Dick Hutton S.D. Jones Johnny Valiant Jimmy Valiant Masked Superstar Iron Mike Dibiase Hacksaw Jim Duggan George Hackenschmidt Iron Sheik Nikolai Volkoff Bobby Eaton Stan Lane Dennis Condrey Bob Orton, Sr. Bob Orton, Jr. Diamond Dallas Page Bobo Brazil Ted Dibiase Steve Williams Ivan Koloff Bob Armstrong Brad Armstrong Curt Hennig the Sheik Koko B. Ware B. Brian Blair Jim Brunzell Greg Valentine Brutus Beefcake Cousin Luke Killer Kowalski - original set card

Mid-South Saturday Night Show #1 1/7/06 airing on TBS
Bill Watts greets everyone and announces that tonight they will crown the first ever North American Heavyweight Champion.
Round 1:
Ted Dibiase d. King Kong Bundy w/ a powerslam Quick match here. The crowd erupted in cheers and shocks when Dibiase managed to lift and slam Bundy.
Ravishing Rick Rude d. Masked Superstar w/ the Rude Awakening Many considered this to be the match of the night. No one could gain an advantage unlike Rude missed a turnbuckle charge. Superstar dominated Rude for a long time but just couldn't get the Cobra Hold on good enough. Superstar missed a corner charge and Rude hit the Rude Awakening for the win.
Curt Hennig d. Dick Hutton w/ the Hennig Plex Dick Hutton almost put it away quickly after a quick roll up after ducking a corner charge. Hutton applied the Abdominal Stretch but couldn't secure a submission. Hennig fought back and hit the patented Hennig Plex for the win.
Ivan Koloff d. Diamond Dallas Page by DQ DDP made the classic error of using a folding chair in the plain sight of the ref. Koloff tried to get revenge by hitting DDP with his chain but was caught with a Diamond Cutter. Koloff's pride too a shot there but he's still in the tournament.
Intermission:
the Armstrongs d. Dr. X and Bobby Thomas w/ the Russian Leg Sweep "Bullet" Bob picked Thomas apart before turning things over to his son Brad who got the pin after the Russian Leg Sweep
Semi-Finals:
Ted Dibiase d. Ravishing Rick Rude w/ a spinning neckbreaker This one was over quickly to the surprise of the crowd. Rude looking totally spent after the match he had with the Masked Superstar earlier in the evening. Dibiase moves to the final.
Ivan Koloff d. Curt Hennig w/ the Russian Bear Hug Koloff's superior strength made all of the difference in this match. Hennig put up a good fight and even hit the Hennig Plex at one point but Koloff put him to sleep after applying the dreaded bear hug. Koloff will face Dibiase in the final.
Intermission:
Koko B. Ware d. Iron Sheik by DQ Koko took the Iron Sheik by surprise earlier on. He almost finished him off with 2 Ghostbusters but the Iron Sheik just barely escapes. Things spilled to the outside and the Iron Sheik was DQ'd for choking Koko with a chair. After the DQ the Iron Sheik rolled Koko back into the ring and applied the Camel Clutch. He refused to break the hold and the poor ref couldn't pry the hold loose. Hacksaw Jim Duggan finally ran out to save the day and clobbered the Iron Sheik with his 2x4.
Final:
Ted Dibiase d. Ivan Koloff w/ a powerslam to win the North American Heavyweight Title This was an all out brawl for the title. Dibiase dominated much of the early goings but Koloff nailed him with that blasted chain of his. Koloff took over but just couldn't get the Russian Bear Hug on Dibiase. Koloff even managed to get away with another cheap shot with his chain as the match went on. Koloff headed to the top rope but there was nobody home. Dibiase took over with a spinning neckbreaker followed by a fistdrop and then pinned Koloff after a powerslam.
After the match Koloff nails Dibiase with the chain and starts to choke him with it. The Iron Sheik and Nikolai Volkoff come to the ring and it's a 3 on 1 beatdown. Koloff continues to choke Dibiase while Sheik and Volkoff put the boots to him. Steve Williams charges into the ring. He nails the Iron Sheik with a powerslam. Koloff gets press slammed out of the ring. Volkoff gets the Oklahoma Stampede.
Next Week:
Mid-South Tag Team Title Tournament: Ted Dibiase and Steve Williams vs. the Dream Team Iron Mike Dibiase and King Kong Bundy vs. Killer Bees Midnight Express vs. the Armstrongs Iron Sheik and Nikolai Volkoff vs. the Valiants

Mid-South Saturday Night Show #2 1/14/06 airing on TBS
Round 1:
Ted Dibiase and Steve Williams d. the Dream Team w/ the Oklahoma Stampede Valentine worked over Dibiase but Dibiase battled back and tagged in Williams. Williams mauled Valentine and finished him off quickly for the win.
Iron Mike Dibiase and King Kong Bundy d. Killer Bees w/ the Top Rope Knee Drop The Bees just couldn't find a way to deal with Bundy's size and strength. Everytime they almost had Dibiase finished he'd find a way to tag Bundy in. The finish came when Bundy hit the Avalanche on Blair and then tagged in Dibiase who finished him off.
the Armstrongs d. Midnight Express w/ karate chops Bobby Eaton and Stan Lane were working as the team this time. They dominated early but Brad managed to tag in his father who got the surprise pinfall on Lane for the win. Yeah I rolled a 4 on the pin for this one.
the Valiants d. Iron Sheik and Nikolai Volkoff w/ a double clothesline Superior team work paid off here. The Valiants made tags at just the right moments to cut off the momentum of the other team. They caught Volkoff with a double clothesline to end the match.
Camera head backstage to see Jim Cornette directing traffic as the Midnight Express do a 3 on 2 beatdown of the Armstrongs. This doesn't help tne Armstrongs' chances in the semis.
Dick Hutton d. Cousin Luke w/ the Abdominal Stretch Hutton made short work of Luke and quickly gained a submission victory.
Semi-Finals:
Ted Dibiase and Steve Williams d. Iron Mike Dibiase and King Kong Bundy w/ the Loaded Glove If people were shocked at Dibiase powerslamming Bundy last week then they were speechless over the way Williams tossed Bundy around like he was nothing this week. Williams finally tossed Bundy to the outside and Dibiase caught his father with the Loaded Glove to get the win.
the Valiants d. the Armstrongs w/ the Top Rope Elbow Quick match. The Armstrongs were really in no shape to wrestle and the Valiants knew it. They hit Brad with the Top Rope Elbow for the win.
Ivan Koloff comes out for an interview. He finally names his group as the Eastern Powers. The members are the Iron Sheik, Nikolai Volkoff, Nikita Brenzikov and himself for right now. Their sights are set on Ted Dibiase and his North American Heavyweight Title. Their top priority is getting that belt.
Curt Hennig d. Tom Daniels w/ the Hennig Plex Quick match here as Daniels was no match for Hennig.
Final:
Ted Dibiase and Steve Williams d. the Valiants w/ the Backdrop Driver to win the Mid-South Tag Team Titles Dibiase and Williams looked really good here. They made quick tags and just wore the Valiants down. The Valiants came back in the middle of the match and used the same tactics. Williams came in and like we've seen the last two weeks roughnecked his way to Mid-South gold.
After the match the Eastern Powers storm the ring. Koloff chokes Dibiase while the Iron Sheik and Volkoff double team Williams. They can't get Williams down until Volkoff has pounded him mercilessly with the Russian flag. When he's finally down the Iron Sheik applies the Camel Clutch.
Next week:
Ted Dibiase will defend the North American Heavyweight Championship against Nikolai Volkoff Ivan Koloff vs. Hacksaw Jim Duggan Ravishing Rick Rude and S.D. Jones will be in singles action The Midnight Express will be in tag team action

Mid-South Saturday Night Show #3 1/21/06 airing on TBS
S.D. Jones d. Tony Smith w/ the Headbutt Smith gave Jones a run for his money here. Jones hit a few big moves after catching Jones coming off the ropes. Jones managed to weather the storm and picked up the win in an exciting opener. **
Masked Superstar comes out for an interview. He's back from a tour of Japan and he's ready to set his sights on the top Mid-South prize.
Ravishing Rick Rude d. Dr. X w/ the Rude Awakening Rude had a little trouble with the masked jobber but his superior skills helped him end the match in a few short moments. 1/2*
Lou Albano comes out for an interview. He holds up a contract and proudly announces that the Valiants will get the first title shot against Ted Dibiase and Steve Williams.
Midnight Express d. the Executioners w/ the Face First Leg Sweep Bobby Eaton and Dennis Condrey made up the Express this time around. Condrey appeared to have some debut jitters as he got the Midnights into some messy situations during the match. After getting kicked around a bit Condrey settled down hit some of his signature moves and finished off an Executioner with 3 straight Face First Leg Sweeps. **1/2
The Armstrongs storm into the ring. They beat Eaton and Condrey with belts until they bail to the outside. Bob Armstrong grabs a mic. The Midnight Express cost them a chance to win the Tag Titles last week because they're a bunch of sore losers. They want a match with the Midnights in this very ring next week.
Ivan Koloff d. Hacksaw Jim Duggan w/ the Russian Bear Hug This one was over quickly. Koloff smashes Duggan with his chain behind the ref's back and applied the bearhug to put Duggan to sleep. 1/2*
Ivan Koloff grabs the mic. He points to Duggan and says that this is what will happen to anyone who opposes the Eastern Powers.
Main Event: North American Heavyweight Title Match: Ted Dibiase (c) d. Nikolai Volkoff by count out Dibiase had a lot of trouble overcoming the pure power of Volkoff in this match. He had brief flurries of offense but was quickly cut off. Volkoff just grounded on Dibiase with power moves. Unfortunately for Volkoff he seemed to punch himself out during the course of the match. On the outside Dibiase escaped a shoulder ram into the ringpost and instead pushed Volkoff head first into it. Volkoff couldn't beat the ref's count. **3/4
Ivan Koloff and the Iron Sheik hit the ring. They do a 2 on 1 beatdown until Volkoff recovers and joins the fun. Steve Williams tries to run in for the save but the numbers are just too much for him. Finally Hacksaw Jim Duggan comes storming into the ring with his 2x4 and the Eastern Powers bail to the outside.
Next Week:
Main Event: Ivan Koloff, Iron Sheik and Nikolai Volkoff vs. Ted Dibiase, Steve Williams and Hacksaw Jim Duggan the Armstrongs vs. Midnight Express Dick Hutton vs. King Kong Bundy Masked Superstar and Bob Orton, Sr. will be in singles action

Mid-South Saturday Night Show #4 1/28/06 airing on TBS

Abdullah Farouk comes out for an interview. Next week he'll unleash a nightmare on Mid-South Wrestling. The one and only Sheik will make his inring debut.
Masked Superstar d. Bobby Thomas w/ the Spinning Neckbreaker Thomas hit an atomic drop early on but the Superstar caught him with a clothesline. Thomas didn't want to go down but Superstar finally caught him with his patented Spinning Neckbreaker for the win. *
Masked Superstar walks over to the announce table and grabs a headset. He demands that Bill Watts give him a shot at the North American Title. Bill Watts says that he'll consider it and deliver his decision next week.
Dick Hutton d. King Kong Bundy w/ the Abdominal Stretch Bundy almost finished it in record time with a powerslam and the Avalanche but Hutton just barely kicked out. Hutton through some miracle got control of the match and even managed to submit the big man with the Abdominal Stretch. **
Bill Watts gets into the ring for an announcement. Next week Diamond Dallas Page will face Curt Hennig. The winner of that match will be crowned the Mid-South Television Champion.
the Armstrongs d. Midnight Express w/ karate chops Dennis Condrey and Stan Lane were the combination this time around. They looked good with quick tags and double team moves the likes of which hadn't been seen. The Armstrongs win a few weeks ago started to look like a fluke until Brad caught Lane with a knee drop and Bob caught him with a karate chop and got the pinfall exactly like it happened in the tournament. ***
After the match the Midnight Express do a 3 on 2 beatdown of the Armstrongs. Bob gets the Veg-O-Matic from Eaton and Lane and then Brad gets the Rocket Launcher from Condrey and Lane.
Ted Dibiase, Steve Williams and Hacksaw Jim Duggan d. Ivan Koloff, Iron Sheik and Nikolai Volkoff by DQ This was just a wild brawl and the ring could barely contain the size of the athletes involved. Dibiase worked over the Sheik and tagged Duggan in. Duggan tagged Williams in who ran over the other team for the middle portion. Koloff got his team DQd for smacking Williams with a chair on the outside. **1/2
After the bell rings both teams continue to brawl in the ring without gaining an advantage. George Hackenschmidt hits the ring and cleans house on Ted Dibiase's side.

Ivan Koloff comes out to ringside for an interview. He says that George Hackenschmidt was brought in to be the enforcer for the Eastern Powers.
the Sheik d. Tom Daniels w/ the Camel Clutch Quick win for the Sheik. Ross and Watts speculated during the match that the Eastern Powers might be interested in recruiting him. DUD
Bill Watts climbs into the ring and calls out the Masked Superstar. He says that he thought over the title shot long and hard. He denies the request because he feels the Masked Superstar needs to do more than win a few opening matches against inferior competition. At this moment the Masked Superstar attacks. He brutally beats down Watts and then Pillmanizes him with a chair while fighting off security. Bobby Heenan rushes out to the ring and finally gets him under control. Bill Watts gets taken out on a stretcher.
Bobby Eaton d. Brad Armstrong w/ a spinning neckbreaker This was an amazing match. Eaton dominated the early goings but Brad managed to get on offense. The middle portion was dominated by Brad as Eaton just barely escaped severall pinfalls. Eaton finally caught Brad with some big moves before finishing him off with the neckbreaker variation. ***1/2
Dennis Condrey and Stan Lane hit the ring and it's a 3 on 1 beatdown. Bob Armstrong runs out and briefly fights them off but he gets overcome by the numbers.
Mid-South Television Title Match: Diamond Dallas Page d. Curt Hennig w/ the Diamond Cutter to win the title Heenan got involved early and it looked like Hennig was on his way to winning the belt. Mid-South Saturday Night Show #6 2/11/06: airing on TBS
Hosts are Jim Ross and Bill Watts
Killer Bees d. the Executioners w/ the Bee Sting The Bees showed the double team work that made them NWA World Tag Team Champions in the past. They easily claimed the win here. 1/4*
Bill Watts gets into the ring with a mic. He spent the better part of the last week in a hospital because of what the Masked Superstar did. He could fire the Superstar right now and be well within his rights. But that would be the easy way out. No, he's going to teach the Superstar about respect and make his life a living nightmare.
Ravishing Rick Rude d. Hiroshi Yamamoto w/ the Rude Awakening Rude had some early troubles in this match but he gained control and ground down Yamamoto until he got the pinfall. 1/2*
NWA World Tag Team Champions Harley Race and Nick Bockwinkel get into the ring with Bill Watts for an interview. They announce that in 2 weeks they'll be facing off with the Ortons to unify the NWA tag team titles right here in Mid-South.
Cowboy Bob Orton d. Koko B. Ware w/ the Superplex The announcement just moments before didn't seem to bother Orton one bit as he made really short work of Ware. It was move, boom Superplex. DUD
Cowboy Bob Orton stops at the announce table and grabs the house mic. He and the old man are looking forward to upgrading their belts to World status. In 2 weeks you'll be looking at the new NWA World Tag Team Champions.
Iron Sheik d. Hacksaw Jim Duggan w/ a vertical suplex Wild brawl for the most part. The Iron Sheik wore Duggan down with some shots from his loaded boots and finally put him away with a suplex. Duggan looked pretty good throughout the match but just was too beaten up to kick out. **1/2
Bob Armstrong comes down to ringside for an interview. He realizes that he can't continue to play the numbers game with the Midnight Express. So to even the odds out he went and found Killer Kowalski.
Main Event: Mid-South Tag Team Title Match: Ted Dibiase and Steve Williams (c) d. the Valiants by DQ It was a stalemate for most of the match. Both teams came close to quick wins. A lot of tags here but no one could really gain a clear advantage. Things spilled to the outside and the ref called a DQ because things were getting out of control. **
Ivan Koloff comes out and grabs the house mic. He's going to team up with George Hackenschmidt and they'll challenge for the tag titles soon.
Next Week:
Mid-South Television Title Match: Diamond Dallas Page (c) vs. Dick Hutton King Kong Bundy vs. Nikolai Volkoff the Sheik will be in singles action Ivan Koloff and George Hackenschmidt will be in tag team action the Midnight Express will be in six man tag team action

A video package plays of highlights of Harley Race and Nick Bockwinkel in action. It also shows them training for next week's bout.
Ivan Koloff and George Hackenschmidt d. the Executioners w/ the Russian Bear Hug Impressive debut for the new tag team. They got a quick win and showed a lot of raw power. They could cause some problems for the current champs. 1/4*
Masked Superstar is working the concession stand tonight. Watts explains that this is the start of his punishment. If he fails to do any of these jobs he'll be fired.
Midnight Express d. the Gambler, Bobby Thomas and Dr. X w/ the Face First Leg Sweep Quick match here as the six man version of the Midnights destroyed the other team. 1/4*
The Armstrongs and Killer Kowalski charge into the ring. A wild brawl erupts until the Midnights flee to the back.
King Kong Bundy d. Nikolai Volkoff by DQ Volkoff tried everything in his arsenal but just couldn't keep Bundy down. Bundy was a bloody mess but continued to fight on with the big Russian. Volkoff finally had enough and smashed Bundy with a chair for the DQ. ***3/4

Killer Kowalski d. Tom Daniels w/ the Claw Hold Kowalski makes his Mid-South debut and looks extremely impressive as he demolishes Daniels. 1/4*
Ivan Koloff comes to the ring for an interview. He extends an open invitation to the Sheik and Abdullah Farouk. There will always be a spot on the Eastern Powers for both of them.
the Valiants d. Dr. X and Sam Knight w/ the Top Rope Elbow The Valiants seemed to be working on their double team moves as they seemed content to pound on their opponents this week with no real sense of needing to put them away right away. Easy win still. 3/4*
Ravishing Rick Rude comes to ringside for an interview. He's picked up a lot of wins here in Mid-South. So he's challenging Ted Dibiase for the North American Title. Ted Dibiase comes out and accepts the challenge. As he turns to walk away Rude blindsides him and hits the Rude Awakening onto the cement. Ted Dibiase has to be taken out on a stretcher.
Iron Mike Dibiase and King Kong Bundy d. Iron Sheik and Nikolai Volkoff by DQ Bundy might have cost his team a clean pinfall here. He hit the Avalanche twice but demanded a 5 count and it let the Iron Sheik kick out. Great back and forth action here as the match was completely up in the air the entire time. The DQ came when the ref couldn't get the illegal Volkoff out of the ring. ***
Main Event: NWA World Tag Team Titles and NWA United States Tag Team Titles Unification Match: Harley Race and Nick Bockwinkel d. the Ortons w/ the Piledriver No one thought the Ortons had a chance but they came out on fire here. Sr. and Jr. kept Race off balance for the early goings. Race got control and hit a lot of his big moves. The rest was back and forth action as neither team gained a clear advantage. Bill Watts climbs into the ring. Next week Hennig and Rude will face Koloff and Hackenschmidt. Winner gets a shot at the tag titles.
the Armstrongs and Killer Kowalski d. Midnight Express by DQ This was a wild match. The Express hit every move in the book but just couldn't deal with the power of Kowalski. Finish came when Condrey slammed Bob Armstrong into the ringpost outside of the ring and the ref called for a DQ. ***1/4
