Earlier in the year, I tried expanding my WWF into a territorial wrestling setup that proved to be too time consuming a venture for me to take on. So instead I've continued with the same WWF that I've been running since I first got Legends. However with some personal business that I had to take care of the WWF went on a seven week hiatus and, now, is returning. I'll open up this thread with the history of the WWF tile, who the stars have been, etc. and then post the results to the kick off show of the fourth consecutive Great American Bash tour. WWF Title History The World Wrestling Federation opened it's doors as the World Wide Wrestling Federation four years ago. It's premiere event (The Royal Rumble) was headlined by a ten-man "Royal Rumble" to determine the first ever WWWF champion. Bobo Brazil, in a final three that would foreshadow the years events, came out victorious as the first ever WWWF champion. Ted Dibiase and Buddy Rogers double teamed him after the victory setting up a three way feud that lasted throughout the entire Road to Wrestlemania tour. On the Saturday Night's Main Event prior to Wrestlemania, Bobo Brazil was in a non-title match against Dibiase's then bodyguard Killer Kowalski. Buddy Rogers, upset at not being the number contender, attacked both men and nearly injured Bobo Brazil. At Wrestlemania I (Live from Madison Square Garden) a hobbling Bobo Brazil fought his way through a tough title defense against Ted Dibiase. Buddy Rogers defeated Jimmy Snuka in a number one contenders match the same night. The Wrestlemania Revenge tour (The first overseas tour for the began with a title match between Bobo Brazil and "Nature Boy" Buddy Rogers. Bobo had been a fighting champion and had fought off Rogers before, but this time the challenger proved to be too tough and the WWWF crowned their second champion. Rogers proved to be a more formidable champion than even Brazil has he defended the title all the way into Survivor Series, dropping the title during a three-way elimination match to Harley Race. Race's first reign as champion proved to be an immensely short one. The WWWF led off the year with a ten-man "New Blood" tournament with the winner facing the WWWF champion at the conclusion of the tournament. Don Leo Jonathan walked away, after one night in the WWWF, as the World Heavyweight champion. As he strolled into the Royal Rumble he had a tough task named Nick Bockwinkel. Bockwinkel had stayed out of the World Title picture during year one due to a blood feud with Jimmy Snuka. "The Mormon Surprise" continued to be just that, as he shocked the world by defeating Nick Bockwinkel and heading down the Road to Wrestlemania as WWWF champion. With Frank Gotch waiting at Wrestlemania (after a Royal Rumble victory) the world was quite unsure of Jonathan's future status. A successful Road to Wrestlemania tour led to the Gotch/Jonathan match, and surprisingly to another Jonathan victory. Jonathan quietly lost the title on a broadcast of Prime Time Wrestling to Harley Race. Race and Mil Mascaras battled all over the world that summer as the red-hot Mexican superstar wanted to bring home some WWF gold. Who can forget the Summerslam cage match in the middle of Chicago? The bloody Race refusing to give into Mascaras, (Race's pin rating was eleven and he actually rolled a twelve) before three piledrivers cemented Race's name as a WWF Legend. The second reign as WWF champion was one Race, and WWF fans, would long remember. Fighting his way through Nick Bockwinkel, Bobo Brazil, Giant Baba, The Destroyer, Jimmy Snuka, Greg Valentine, Johnny Valentine, and Ted Dibiase. Race entered into year three as the WWF champion, but, was facing another New Blood tournament. The second annual "New Blood" tournament turned out to be, by far, the most prophetic and influential of all. Race introduced his new manager (and the man Jim Cornette claims "Put him out of businnes!") Bobby Heenan. Race's opponent at the end of the night, Bruiser Brody, would soon be an ally but this single match would also foreshadow the greatest feud in the history of the WWF. (Brody vs. the Heenan Family) Race's stronghold continued throughout year three and went on into year four. By this time there were doubters that anyone would ever get the strap off of Harley. A victory by Buddy Rogers at the Royal Rumble earlier this year seemed like just another bump in the road for the dominant WWF champion, but at Wrestlemania, Buddy Rogers shocked the world and became the sixth WWF champion (second time overall for Buddy). However with the hiatus and the arrival of Lou Thesz this reign may be a short one for Buddy. I'll post the card for the GAB Tour kick-off show and then results later on this evening. The WWF Schedule looks like this: Monday - Prime Time Wrestling Saturday- Superstars of Wrestling Sunday - Arena Show

The Great American Bash Tour Show 1 Madison Square Garden New York City, New York July 9th
RESULTS: Rick Rude w/ Bobby "The Brain" Heenan defeated Ilio Dipaolo...Giant Baba and Antonio Inoki defeated The Rock 'N Roll Express via DQ...Jimmy "The Boogie Woogie Man" Valiant defeated Larry Zbyszko...Dan "The Beast" Severn w/ Jim Cornette defeated Ed "Strangler" Lewis...#1 Contender match: Don Leo Jonathan defeated Rikidozan...The Sheik defeated Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka...Non-Sanctioned Grudge Match: Harley Race w/ Bobby "The Brain" Heenan defeated The Crusher..."The World's Greatest Wrestler" Frank Gotch defeated Bobo Brazil...New York Streetfight: Johnny Valentine defeated Antonino Rocca...WWF Intercontinental champion Nick Bockwinkel w/ Bobby "The Brain" Heenan defeated Bruiser Brody...Lou Thesz defeated WWF World champion "Nature Boy" Buddy Rogers to become the WWF World champion.
NOTES: Rick Rude continues to make an impact even after the hiatus, he picks up the void that Gorgeous George left...Don't expect the Rock 'N Rolls and Baba/Inoki to be done...Jimmy Valiant continues to prove that he doesn't need a tag team to be successful, a few more victories and he could breathing down the neck of Bockwinkel...Jim Cornette's newest investment defeats Lewis. Jimmy hopes this can put him back on the map after Heenan's absolute dominance the last few years...Don Leo Jonathan will get his first shot at the WWF title since dropping it to Race a little over two years ago...The Sheik and Jimmy Snuka have been signed to a Steel Cage match on the 7/23 show...The Crusher and Harley Race could not be contained after the match, don't expect this one to be over yet...Frank Gotch knows Summerslam is just around the corner and he is locked in on the WWF gold...Johnny Valentine gets some respect back but don't expect Antonino Rocca to let this die just yet...Brody was on the shelf for a year due to the Heenan Family and his assault on Heenan after the match showed his frustration. Next week's tour show has a Bockwinkel/Race vs. Brody/Crusher main event...Lou Thesz becomes the seventh WWF champion and already has a list of challengers. His rematch with Rogers will either happen on Superstars or next Sunday.

The Great American Bash Tour Show 2 (B-Show) Mid-Hudson Civic Center Poughkeepsie, NY 7/13
RESULTS: Brutus Beefcake defeated Diamond Dallas Page via DQ..."Playboy" Buddy Rose w/ Sherri Martel defeated "Iron" Mike Dibiase...Larry Zbyszko defeated Ox Baker...The Orton Boys defeated The Vachon Brothers...Dan Severn w/ Jim Cornette defeated Ilio Dipaolo...Giant Baba defeated Robert Gibson...Bobo Brazil defeated Steve Corino via countout...No Countout, No Disqualification: The Sheik defeated "Superfly" Jimmy Snuka
NOTES: Frank Gotch appeared on Bill Apter's "Hotseat" and complained about his consistent ranking among "Most Hated Wrestlers". After threatening Apter, Ed "Strangler" Lewis chased Gotch off. This segment was filmed and will probably show up on WWF television...DDP has yet to earn a win in the WWF, he came close here but was disqualified after ramming Beefcake into the steel pole...Two members of the old "Million Dollar Corporation" went at with Buddy Rose and Mike Dibiase. Rose has faired well on his own (with Sherri as his main squeeze) and could find himself on more A-shows if he keeps up the consistency...Larry Zbyszko can't beat the upper-tier of WWF wrestlers, but continues to dominate the mid-card...The Ortons and Vachons put on an absolute clinic. The Ortons are inching closer to a title shot with the Road Warriors, but if a certain rumor I keep hearing is true, the Road Warriors will be busy all summer...Dan Severn with another win, as he gets closer to an Intercontinental Title shot, Cornette must be licking his chops. Getting that final belt from Heenan would be just what Cornette needs to get back in business...Baba easily defeated Robert Gibson. He has to hope Inoki can do the same with Ricky Morton this weekend...Bobo Brazil's Coco Butt outside the ring cost him a victory against Steve Corino. Bobo has been in a rut since his feud with Gorgeous George earlier this year...The Sheik interrupted Gary Michael Capetta and charged Snuka. With these last two losses to The Sheik, Snuka has to win that cage match on 7/23 or he will have an entirely lost cause against The Sheik. After forcing Sabu out of the WWF, Snuka hoped to do the same with his uncle, it just hasn't quite worked out.

Superstars of Wrestling Allentown Agricultural Hall Allentown, PA 7/15 Shown on: Syndication
RESULTS: Danny Doring defeated an unnamed jobber...The Masked Superstar and King Kong Bundy w/ Bobby "The Brain" Heenan defeated The Conquistadors...Killer Kowalski defeated "The Duke of Dorchester" Pete Doherty...Youssuf "The Terrible Turk" Ishmaelo defeated Frankie Williams...Don Muraco defeated S.D. Jones
NOTES: Doring's moved up from the b-shows to opening Superstars. Noone really expects much from Danny but he has a fun gimmick for lower level feuds...Heenan was on commentary during Superstar & Bundy's match. He hyped up the match tomorrow night in Baltimore between Brody, Crusher, Bockwinkel, and Race. Spent the whole match basically trashing The Crusher...Kowalski has looked good and could be in line for his first push since being Ted Dibiase's bodyguard...The Turk looks absolutely nasty in the ring and could be a serious challenger for the Intercontinental TItle. He just needs to get some recognition from a feud...Don Muraco has yet to face a big name, but he's also yet to lose. Another win for Muraco and the question has to be asked: When will he get a name program?...The edition of Apter's Hotseat from Poughkeepsie was shown. Afterwards Vince McMahon interviewed Frank Gotch who issued a challenge to Ed "Strangler" Lewis. Gotch then assured that the crowd that he was, indeed, the best wrestler in the WWF...Jimmy Snuka also cut a promo but on one of those "WWF on Tour" commercials. He told The Sheik he'd better get ready, because he was going to end his career on the 23rd...Jim Cornette's interview saw him promise the world a huge surprise on Monday's Prime Time Wrestling...Johnny Valentine issued an open challenge to Lou Thesz, saying that beating Rocca makes him the #1 contender. Rocca and Valentine square off again on in Baltimore on Sunday...A vignette ran with Curt Hennig calling himself the "Perfect Athlete" and shooting several successful basketball goals in a row. The segment ended with this on the screen: Absolutely Perfect. Coming soon to the WWF...Lou Thesz and Don Leo Jonathan had a very sportsmanlike contract signing. Jonathan promised that he would, again, become the WWF champion.

The Great American Bash Tour The Civic Center Baltimore, MD July 16th
RESULTS: "Ravishing" Rick Rude w/ Bobby "the Brain" Heenan defeated Koko B. Ware..."Hacksaw" Jim Duggan defeated Konnan after Steve Williams interfered...The Missing Link w/ Bobby "The Brain" Heenan defeated "The Boogie Woogie Man" Jimmy Valiant...Ricky Morton defeated Antonio Inoki via countout...The Iron Sheik w/ Nikita Breznikov defeated Yukon Eric...Danny Hodge defeated Mil Mascaras...Non-Title Match: WWF World Tag Team champions The Road Warriors w/ Paul Ellering defeated the Killer Bees via countout...Rikidozan defeated The Destroyer...Last Man Standing: Antonino Rocca defeated Johnny Valentine...Harley Race and WWF Intercontinental champion Nick Bockwinkel w/ Bobby "The Brain" Heenan defeated The Crusher and Bruiser Brody via DQ when Ted Dibiase interfered attacking Bockwinkel and Race with a chair and then chasing Bobby Heenan out of the arena...WWF World Heavyweight champion Lou Thesz defeated "Nature Boy" Buddy Rogers to retain the title.
NOTES: Rick Rude has been red hot since entering the WWF. From what I hear they are getting ready to put him in a program for SummerSlam...Steve Williams interference left a lot of fans scratching their heads, it would all be explained later on...The Link has always been the weak member of the Heenan family. A victory over the hot Jimmy Valiant could propel him to a few more "A" shows...Decent match between Inoki and Morton that ended with Inoki just walking out. Morton was hesitant to celebrate considering he didn't really do anything to earn the victory...The Sheik and Volkoff are now primarily singles stars my sources tell me. Should bode well for The Sheik, not sure about Volkoff. A pretty convincing win over Eric...Mil Mascaras made his WWF return and was disposed of rather quickly by Danny Hodge. Hodge has really started to make a name for himself...The Bees were very close to beating the Road Warriors and earning a title shot. The Warriors sensed this and executed a Doomsday Device outside the ring on Brian Blair. The countout ended the match and the Road Warriors thought the threat to their titles. However a rematch has been signed for tomorrow night on Prime Time Wrestling...Considering the history between Baba, Inoki, and Rikidozan seeing Inoki at ringside wasn't a welcome sight for the Japanese legend. However after disposing rather quickly of The Destroyer, the two Japanese wrestlers embraced! We can't wait to hear Giant Baba's reaction to the this new faction...The most blood in a WWF ring in a while was smeared during that Last Man Standing match. Valentine had the upper advantage but Antonino Rocca just wouldn't give up. Valentine finally couldn't respond to the ten-count leaving Rocca the winner! Rocca faces the Intercontinental champion Nick Bockwinkel in a non-title match next week in Philadelphia...Harley Race and Bockwinkel controlled the tempo for the majority of this match. However once Brody gained control all hell broke loose! Ted Dibiase charged the ring and attacked the two members of the Heenan family! He then chased Heenan off! Steve Williams and Jim Duggan were waiting for Heenan at the entrance to the dressing room and they dragged him to the ring. Dibiase informed the world that since losing all his riches in January to Lou Thesz (At the Royal Rumble Lou Thesz put his career vs. Dibiase's money. Thesz won and donated the money to charity) he had been in a very introspective mood. He began to ponder when everything changed from being about the best wrestler in the world to only caring about money. He said shortly after meeting Heenan (even before Heenan was in the WWF) was when he turned his back on his own personal goals and dreams! He told Heenan that those days are over and the money is gone! That he's back in the WWF for one reason and one reason only, to rid the WWF of the Heenan Family! He's organized an army of Steve Williams, Jim Duggan, and Bruiser Brody! And Dibiase's Army is ready to do battle...Lou Thesz made rather quick work of Rogers in the rematch. Lot of pondering on what happens with Rogers now. Thesz heads into Philadelphia next week to defend the title against Don Leo Jonathan. SummerSlam plans are still unclear for the Heavyweight champion however.
RUMOR: The WWF has apparently signed a new batch of wrestlers and will be bringing them in over the course of the next few weeks. These wrestlers will team up with current WWF Superstars and this could free up the title pictures for the World and Intercontinental titles.
Don't forget to check out Prime Time Wrestling! The only Nationally produced wrestling show! Mondays at 8 on USA!

Prime Time Wrestling Hamburg, PA July 17
RESULTS: Bobo Brazil defeated Nikolai Volkoff w/ Nikita Breznikov...Frank Gotch defeated Ilio Dipaolo..."Superfly" Jimmy Snuka defeated Sgt. Buddy Lee Parker...Don Leo Jonathan defeated The Brooklyn Brawler...Don Muraco defeated "Iron" Mike Sharpe...Non-Title Match: The Killer Bees defeated WWF Tag Team champions The Road Warriors w/ Paul Ellering after the Midnight Express interfered.
NOTES: Bobo Brazil began waving the American flag after his defeat of Volkoff, Breznikov told him not to get too cocky...The replay of Apter's Hotseat was shown and we were told that the first match for SummerSlam has been signed! An ultimate submission match between Ed "Strangler" Lewis and Frank Gotch...Bobby Heenan gave a crazy interview yelling about Dibiase's army and how he determined to take each and every one of them out...Jimmy Snuka made quick work of Parker but The Sheik made his way down to the ring after the match. The two men engaged in a staredown and then brawled all over the arena. The cage match is this Sunday!...Giant Baba introduced his new translator: Captain Lou Albano! Baba said he has told Inoki many times that he does not trust Rikidozan and he thinks it is a very bad idea. They asked Inoki out and Baba told him to make a decision. Either keep their tag team together or choose Rikidozan. Inoki chose Baba...Don Leo Jonathan looked really good, but he will be facing a man who could be in the beginning stages of a dominant WWF Title run. The former WWF champion has a shot, but beating Thesz is quite a task...Antonino Rocca gave an interview and said his sights are set on Nick Bockwinkel's IC title. This Sunday will begin his march towards that gold...There are big plans for Muraco heading into SummerSlam that are scheduled to start next week on this very show...The Crusher says he doesn't give a damn about not being invited to Dibiase's boy scout troop, that he can destroy the Heenan Family single handed! He then began to mock Rick Rude's hip gyrations...The Mr. Perfect vignette from Superstars played again...The Road Warriors had been undefeated all year until this one! In the closing moments of the match Jim Cornette, Bobby Eaton, and Dennis Condrey all interfered and gave the Bees the victory and a title shot on Sunday! Cornette grabbed a mic and told the Warriors that while Eaton and Lane could never team again, Eaton and Condrey certainly could! Prime Time ended with the Road Warriors chasing the Midnights back to the dressing room area.

WWF PRESS RELEASE 7/18
It's with great pride that the WWF announces their new business partnership with the USWA (United States Wrestling Association). The Memphis-based federation will act as a minor league for the WWF and will provide an outlet in the Southern region to promote the fan base. Their will be five cross-promoted shows per year all taking place in the Memphis territory. The USWA has their initial roster and will begin competition at the start of August. The WWF President Jack Tunney was quoted as saying, "With the WWF growing stature and losing it's appeal as a regional territory only we feel this is the best business move we can make. It's an idea we've been toying with for a very long time and with our west coast tour about to tick off, we'll have new ground to cover when we come back east."
OOC: The fruition of this idea would not have been possible without GWFFanTrav's hard work on Legends of Memphis. To be honest the cross over will probably be very small with big Memphis wrestlers only having a one or two month stay in the WWF. It does open the Southern region for the WWF which is something I've been looking to do for awhile. I'm also a huge fan of Memphis wrestling and have been waiting to do something like this for a long. Thanks again, Trav, great work!

Word on the street is Koko Ware and Jimmy Valiant have been sold to the new Memphis promotion. Valiant has one more contractually obligated match...The Vachon Brothers have never been able to make much of an impact in the WWF. They hope this is a sign of an upward move in the WWF tag division...Diamond Dallas Page scores his first win in the WWF. He celebrated in the crowd afterwards...Buddy Rose has been white hot since the disbanding of the Million Dollar Corporation. If he keeps this up he could find himself in a title shot...Don Muraco continues to look great. His SummerSlam program is scheduled for a Monday start...Rikidozan's sudden attack of Giant Baba was unexpected and elicited several boos from the crowd. Hopefully we'll get some kind of explanation for his actions...Harley Race shows why he was the most dominant champion in WWF history, he just doesn't lose. As sad as I am to say it, after four years the WWF is closing it's doors. The hiatus really killed all momentum I had for the federation, and sadly I cannot renew it.
I plan on starting another LOW fed, just not right away. I'm really not sure what I want to do with my new fed, so, until then I'm just going to focus on my GWF 2119.
