With now just 1 day to go until the AWA brand of Major League Wrestling (MLW) presents New Years Revolution in Puerto Rico, it is now time for AWA:RAW from Mexico City, Mexico!
Major League Wrestling (MLW) AWA:RAW Saturday January 6, 2007 (broadcast date) in Mexico City, Mexico (First Half of the Show)
Match #1: Don Muraco (managed by Sherri Martel) defeated Jim Londos
--Londos and Muraco are 2 of the 6 wrestlers competing in the Elimination Chamber for the World Championship on tomorrow night's main event at New Year's Revolution.
-Muraco started off the match by challenging Londos to put his right to enter the Elimination Chamber match last (Londos won this on a previous edition of AWA:RAW by having the best time in a series of beat the clock matches) on the line in their match tonight. Muraco held out his hand to offer to Londos to shake and agree to Muraco's request but Londos instead gave Muraco a snapmare to start the match. Londos then mockingly offered his hand to Muraco. Muraco tried to shake it but Londos instead gave Muraco a wristlock takedown. Muraco was able to make a comeback and controlled most of the match despite having to kick out of an AIRPLANE SPIN by Londos later in the match. The end came when Martel gave Londos a low blow near the ropes and Muraco then hit him with a vertical suplex to get the 3 count.
-After the match, Muraco told Londos he was smart not to put his right to enter the Elimination Chamber last at New Year's Revolution tomorrow night on the line tonight but it won't matter once Londos gets hit with the HAWAIIAN HAMMER tomorrow evening.
Backstage: Ladies Champion Ida Mae Martinez is interviewed and says she is calling out all the other women (Martel and Cassandra) here on the AWA brand to face her at New Year's Revolution where she will put the Ladies Championship on the line in a triple threat elimination match.
Match #2: MLW Tag Team Champions the Vachons and their manager Wild "Red" Berry defeated the Iron Sheik, Nikolai Volkoff, and their manager Nikita Breznikov in a 6 man non-title tag team match.
-This match is being held on the eve of New Year's Revolution where the Vachons will defend their MLW Tag Team Championship against the Iron Sheik and Nikolai Volkoff in a best 2 out of 3 falls match. Both the Iron Sheik and Volkoff have been successful in recent weeks in singles action against the Vachons but tonight's match is a 6 man tag team match in which the managers Berry and Breznikov join the tag teams they manage in the Vachons and the Iron Sheik and Volkoff respectively in action.
-In this match, both teams had a great opportunity to win the match as Breznikov found himself trapped alone in the ring against Butcher Vachon and later Berry found himself trapped alone in the ring against the Iron Sheik. But in both cases, Breznikov and Berry managed to escape by making a defensive tag. The end came when Mad Dog Vachon pinned the Iron Sheik via an airplane spin. Will this be this same result tomorrow at New Year's Revolution or will the Iron Sheik and Volkoff become the new MLW Tag Team Champions?
Backstage: Antonino Rocca walks up to Ray Stevens
Rocca: "Stevens, you didn't answer my challenge for a match tomorrow night at at New Year's Revolution. But I just got it approved by MLW Chairman Bruno Sammartino."
Stevens: "I thought you already had a match tomorrow night. Didn't Ida Mae Martinez call out all of the women here on the AWA brand?"
Rocca: "Stevens, last time on AWA:RAW, your interference cost me a shot at the World Championship. Tomorrow night at New Year's Revolution it is time for me to get my pay back even if I have to break your back in my ARGENTINIAN BACKBREAKER."
Match #3: Larry Hennig (accompanied by The Crusher) defeated Ox Baker (accompanied by King Kong Bundy and managed by Bobby Heenan).
-In this match Larry Hennig was accompanied by The Crusher who will team with him tomorrow night at New year's Revolution against Baker and Bundy (who is accoampanying Baker to the ring for tonight's amtch) who together put Hennig's son Curt Hennig on the injured list a couple of weeks ago on AWA:RAW.
-In this match, Heenan interfered early by distracting Larry Hennig who was then attacked by the Baker who almost got the pinfall via a deathjump. Outraged at this blatant interference, the Crusher went over to the other side of the ring where, to the cheers of the Mexico City crowd, he gave Heenan a CRUSHER BOLO and then proceeded to brawl with Bundy. Meanwhile, in the ring, Larry Hennig managed to battle back and pin Baker via an elbow drop. What will happen tomorrow night at New Year's Revolution when Larry Hennig and The Crusher team up to take on the two Heenan Family members, Baker and Bundy, who injured Curt Hennig?
Backstage: Koko B. Ware is seen walking down the hall with Frankie on his arm when he is suddenly attacked from behind with a wild chair shot by the Missing Link. The Missing Link proceeds to pummel Ware before grabbing Frankie who he then tries to eat. Frankie manages to get away but the Missing link is seen chasing after him down the hall while Ware is still lying unconscious on the floor.
End of First Half. Second Half will be posted next and will include Jimmy Snuka, Hacksaw Jim Duggan, Yukon Eric, and Cousin Luke vs Intercontinental Champion Larry Zbyszko, Gorgeous George, and the Heart Thrashers (Buff Bagwell and Brutus Beefcake) in an 8 man tag team match and the Brothers of Other Mothers (Bobo Brazil and Mil Mascaras) vs World Champion Nick Bockwinkel and Don Leo Jonathan! Also, will the Missing Link catch and eat Frankie? Find out in the Second Half.

It is now time for the AWA brand of Major League Wrestling (MLW) to present New Years Revolution!
New Years Revolution was preceded by a 30 minute segment of Major League Wrestling: Fight Night which recapped all of the story lines leading up to tonight's matches and 1 dark match
Dark Match: Killer Bees defeated Playboy Buddy Rose and Red Bastien when B. Brain Blair pinned Bastien following a BEE STING.
Major League Wrestling (MLW) AWA New Year's Revolution Sunday January 7, 2006 Coliseo de Puerto Rico San Juan, Puerto Rico (First Fourth of the show)
The music for the Heart Thrashers begins playing as the first match is immediately set to begin.
Match #1: Hacksaw Jim Duggan, Yukon Eric, and Cousin Luke vs Gorgeous George and the Heart Thrashers (Buff Bagwell and Brutus Beefcake, managed by Cassandra) in an elimination match.
Before the match begins, the announcers mention that former MLW Tag Team Champions the Heart Thrashers are looking to get revenge against Yukon Eric tonight after Yukon Eric recently caused them to lose a #1 contenders match by grabbing and kissing their manager Cassandra which distracted them and caused them to lose to the Iron Sheik and Nikolai Volkoff.
Cousin Luke started the match for his team but was unable to get in a single move of offense as the Heart Thrashers displayed good tag team tactics with a series of quick tags to keep Cousin Luke on the defensive and by working together as they twice gave Cousin Luke a double bodyslam. Cousin Luke was unable to get on the offensive or make a defensive tag and eventually tapped out to George's SPINNING TOE HOLD to get eliminated.
Yukon Eric then entered the match and unloaded an impressive series of offense against the Heart Thrashers. The Heart Thrashers were able to regain control and looked determined to eliminate their enemy Yukon Eric for forcing himself on Cassandra and costing them a chance to regain their MLW Tag Team Championship. Yukon Eric barely escaped elimination via a BUFF BLOCKBUSTER from Bagwell when Duggan just managed to make the pin save. Duggan was finally able to tag in and unleashed an offensive assault which included an impressive Tough Guy Clothesline which was so strong that it not only knocked Beefcake down to the mat but also carried Duggan all the way forward to the ropes where in the same move he also clotheslined George and Bagwell who fell off the apron and landed on Cassandra. Duggan then immediately gave Beefcake an Old Glory kneedrop for the pinfall to eliminate Beefcake as the Puerto Rican crowd rose to their feet to cheer and chant "Na-Na-Nahh-Na, Na-Na-Nahh-Na, Hey, Hey, Hey...Goodbye!" to taunt Beefcake for getting eliminated.
Bagwell then attacked Yukon Eric who was looking the other way and waving good bye to Beefcake. This next series of the match turned out to be great as both sides had to survive several pin/submission attempts as the action quickly shifted back and forth. But the next elimination came when Cassandra distracted Yukon Eric (who has a crush on her) by physically flaunting herself at him which allowed George to place Yukon Eric in his SPINNING TOE HOLD and force him to tap out and get eliminated. After the bell rang, Bagwell came over to attack Yukon Eric some more before the referee was able to get him back to his corner so the match could resume.
The match was now down to Duggan vs George and Bagwell. Although the crowd loudly gave Duggan shouts of encouragement, the one on two disadvantage proved too much for Duggan to overcome and he was soon pinned by Bagwell via a double arm DDT.
Winners: Gorgeous George and the Heart Thrashers. Survivors: Gorgeous George and Buff Bagwell.
Match #2: MLW Tag Team Champions the Vachons (managed by "Wild" Red Berry) vs the Iron Sheik and Nikolai Volkoff (managed by Nikita Breznikov) in a best 2 out of 3 falls match for the MLW Tag Team Championship.
Before the match began, Breznikov whispered something to ring announcer Gary Michael Cappetta who then said to the crowd: "Ladies and gentlemen, Nikita Breznikov invites everyone here in Puerto Rico, who he describes as second-class US citizens, to stand up and respect the greatness of the Soviet flag as Nikolai Volkoff sings the Soviet national anthem." The Puerto Rican crowd responded by loudly booing and throwing trash at Breznikov, the Iron Sheik, and Volkoff. But as Volkoff started to sing the national anthem, the crowd suddenly erupted in roars of approval as Mad Dog Vachon interrupted Volkoff's singing by giving him a forearm pummel to start the match.
First Fall: Although the Vachons surprised the Iron Sheik and Volkoff by how they started the match, the action shifted back and forth. Later during this fall, the Iron Sheik almost made Butcher Vachon submit to a Boston Crab but Butcher managed to tag in Mad Dog who came in and unleashed an impressive series of offense against the Iron Sheik that ended by pinning the Iron Sheik via his PILEDRIVER to win the first fall. Vachons are up 1-0.
Second Fall: The Iron Sheik and Volkoff were unable to accomplish much of anything in this fall which quickly ended when Mad Dog Vachon this time pinned Volkoff but once again vis his PILEDRIVER. Vachons win 2-0.
Winners: Vachons. Vachons retain the MLW tag Team Championship.
Advertisement for Royal Rumble: An advertisement is shown about another upcoming PPV called the Royal Rumble which says the main event of this PPV will involve 30 wrestlers (15 from the AWA brand and 15 from the NWA brand) who will randomly enter the match at two minute intervals. The advertisement says that the wrestlers will be eliminated by being thrown over the top rope and that the winner of the Royal Rumble will receive a main event title match at Wrestlemania!
Backstage: MLW Tag Team Champions the Vachons run into former MLW Tag Team Champions the Heart Thrashers. Beefcake and Bagwell remind the Vachons that they (Vachons) never defeated them to take the MLW Tag Team Championship which they (Heart Thrashers) only lost because they (Heart Thrashers) had to enter the tag team turmoil match early at Cyber Sunday. The Heart Thrashers then tell the Vachons that after their (Heart Thrashers) victory over Duggan, Yukon Eric , and Cousin Luke early tonight that MLW Chairman Bruno Sammartino has granted them a title shot against the Vachons in a best 2 out of 3 falls match at the Royal Rumble!
Match #3: Ladies Champion Ida Mae Martinez vs Sherri Martel vs Cassandra in a triple threat elimination match for the Ladies Championship.
This match started off in a 3 way brawl that ended when Cassandra got knocked into one of the corner ring posts. As Cassandra recovered, she strategically decided to stay out of the action and watch as Martinez and Martel traded offense against each other. Also, since this was an elimination triple threat match, Casandra made no effort to make a pin save as both Martinez and Martel made pin attempts against each other. Martel finally managed to pin Martinez via a TOP ROPE SPLASH which guaranteed that there would be a new Ladies Champion tonight. Cassandra then attacked Martel and it seemed like Cassandra's decision to sit out the match as Martel put away Martinez was a good decision beacuse she had a tired Martel in trouble. But Martel was finally able to mount a come back and pin Cassandra via a TOP ROPE SPLASH to become the new Ladies Champion.
Winner: Sherri Martel. Martel is the new Ladies Champion.
End of First Fourth of New Years Revolution. Second Fourth will be posted next and will include: Antonino Rocca vs Ray Stevens, The Crusher and Larry Hennig vs King Kong Bundy and Ox Baker as The Crusher and The Axe seek revenge for the injury inflicted upon Curt Hennig, and MLW Chairman Bruno Sammartino on the Hot Seat where he will reveal the location of Wrestlemana!

Major League Wrestling (MLW) AWA New Year's Revolution Sunday January 7, 2006 Coliseo de Puerto Rico San Juan, Puerto Rico (Second Fourth of the show, First Fourth is posted above)
Match #4: Antonino Rocca vs Ray Stevens (managed by Bobby Heenan).
Before this match began, the announcers remark that Rocca is seeking revenge tonight against Stevens for Stevens interfering on a recent edition of AWA:RAW in a recent match of Rocca's on behalf of fellow Heenan Family member World Champion Nick Bockwinkel that would have granted Rocca an automatic title shot if he had won.
This turned out to be arguably the greatest match of the night so far as the action rapidly shifted back and forth between Rocca and Stevens. Stevens managed to survive four pin/submission attempts made on him by Rocca who in turn managed to survive two pin/submission attempts made on him by Stevens. The end came when Stevens gave Rocca a BOMBS AWAY. Rocca just managed to kick out but Stevens immediately went for another BOMBS AWAY and, to ensure he would get the victory this time, got away with grabbing the ropes for extra leverage as the referee made the 3 count.
Winner: Ray Stevens
Match #5: The Crusher and Larry Hennig vs King Kong Bundy and Ox Baker (managed by Bobby Heenan).
Before this match began, Heenan grabbed the microphone and told The Crusher and the Axe that after tonight's match they would be joining Curt Hennig in the hospital once again courtesy of Bundy and Baker.
The Crusher and Bundy started this match with Bundy controlling the action with a front face lock followed by an eye gouge and then an elbow drop off the ropes. But Bundy was unable to give The Crusher a bulldog and The Crusher took over by giving Bundy a bear hug before tagging in The Axe. Hennig came in and unleashed an offensive assault against Bundy that started with a body slam followed by a couple of double forearm hammers. Bundy was finally able to tag in Baker but Baker did not do much better against The Axe who appeared determined to avenge the major injury inflicted upon his son. Hennig almost pinned Baker via an elbow drop and then tagged in The Crusher who immediately hit Baker with his CRUSHER BOLO. The Crusher appeared to have the match won, but Heenan jumped up on the apron to provide the distraction. As The Crusher moved menacingly toward Heenan, Heenan jumped off the apron but his distraction allowed Baker time to recover. As The Crusher then turned around, Baker surprised him with a HEART PUNCH which led to a 3 count victory. After the match, Baker and Bundy looked like they were going to try and and continue attacking The Crusher but The Axe chased them away with a steel chair as The Crusher struggled to his feet to show that while Baker's HEART PUNCH was strong enough to win the match that it was not strong enough to send him to the hospital as Heenan had prognosticated.
Winners: King Kong Bundy and Ox Baker.
Wrestlemania Advertisement: An advertisement is shown reminding everyone that Major League Wrestling's one-year anniversary occurs in late March and will be celebrated by Wrestlemania- the biggest card in the history of Major League Wrestling (MLW)!
Hot Seat: MLW Chairman Bruno Sammartino is the guest.
Bill Apter: "Today on the Hot Seat we are proud to announce that MLW Chairman Bruno Sammartino himself is our guest."
Apter: "Sammartino, you have everyone in the wrestling world talking about this major card called Wrestlemania which will be held this Spring to celebrate the one-year anniversary of Major League Wrestling."
Sammartino: "That's right Apter. Wrestlemania will be the biggest card so far in the one-year history of Major League Wrestling and both of MLW's two brands will be presenting this historical PPV."
Apter: "Are there any matches that you want to announce yet that will take place at Wrestlemania?"
Sammartino: "None of the matches for Wrestlemania have been determined yet. Major League Wrestling (MLW) AWA New Year's Revolution Sunday January 7, 2006 Coliseo de Puerto Rico San Juan, Puerto Rico (Third Fourth of the show, First Fourth and Second Fourth are posted above)
Match #6: Koko B. Ware vs the Missing Link (managed by Abdullah Farouk)
Before this match began, a cage containing Frankie was lowered by a cable from the ceiling as the prize that Ware and the Missing Link would be fighting for.
Ware started off this match by giving the Missing Link a side headlock but was unable to execute a hip toss. The Missing Link responded by biting Ware's forehead and proceeded to unleash an offensive assault that ended when he set up the ladder in a corner turnbuckle and tried to whip Ware into it. But the Birdman managed to reverse this move and sent the Missing Link hard into the ladder. Ware tried to climb up the ladder to get Frankie but the Missing Link followed him up on the other side of the ladder and the two fought at the top until the ladder tipped over. Ware recovered first and proceeded to bash the Missing Link's head repeatedly into the ladder which caused the Missing Link to bleed profusely. The Missing Link then started to bash his own head into the ladder but stopped when Ware gave the Missing Link a GHOSTBUSTER on top of the ladder. Ware then started to climb the ladder but the Missing Link managed to stop him from reaching the top. Ware continued on offense until the Missing Link maneuvered out of a snap mare and gave Ware some flailing forearms. The Missing Link placed the ladder on top of Ware and then grabbed chair handed to him by Farouk. The Missing Link then smashed the chair against the ladder where Ware was still trapped beneath. The Missing Link then gave Ware a BACK FLYING HEADBUTT and started climbing the ladder. Ware tried to go after the Missing link but was tripped from behind by Farouk and the Missing Link won the match by climbing to the top and grabbing the cage containing Frankie. But instead of eating Frankie, Farouk and the Missing Link took the cage with Frankie to the back.
Winner: Missing Link
Match #7: Jimmy Snuka vs Intercontinental Champion Larry Zbyszko (accompanied by body guard Cowboy Bob Orton Jr).
Before this match began, the crowd in Puerto Rico began booing and yelling at Zbyszko which caused Zbyszko to grab the microphone and tell them: "I am not sure how many people here know English. So, I'm, going, to, talk, really, slow. Since I don't know what you are saying, why don't you all shut the hell up?!"
The crowd responded by booing Zbyszko even louder and throwing trash at him and Orton Jr.
The match began with Zbyszko stalling and then giving Snuka a sucker punch followed by a face rake. But Snuka gained control of the match when Zbyszko soon missed a dropkick. Snuka had Zbyszko in serious trouble and went for his SUPERFLY LEAP but Zbyszko somehow rolled out of the way (roll of 6) and Snuka crashed hard into the mat. Zbyszko then gave Snuka a PILEDRIVER but Snuka just managed to kick out before the 3 count. The action continued to shift back and forth until both Snuka and Zbyszko ended up outside of the ring where they started brawling. Orton Jr came up from behind to attack Snuka who was then hit with a chair shot by Zbyszko which led to the referee to call for the bell and award the match to Snuka.
Winner: Jimmy Snuka by DQ. But Zbyszko retains the Intercontinental Championship.
End of Third Fourth of New Years Revolution. Final Fourth will be posted next and will be the main event of World Champion Nick Bockwinkel vs Bobo Brazil vs Mil Mascaras vs Don Leo Jonathan vs Jim Londos vs Don Muraco in an elimination chamber match!

Major League Wrestling (MLW) AWA New Year's Revolution Sunday January 7, 2006 Coliseo de Puerto Rico San Juan, Puerto Rico (Final Fourth of the PPV. First Fourth, Second Fourth, and Third Fourth are all posted above).
Backstage: Jim Londos is seen doing push ups as he is warming up for the upcoming Elimination Chamber match in which he already knows he gets to be the last man to enter the Elimination Chamber because he had the best time in the series of Beat the Clock matches on a recent episode of RAW.
Backstage: Don Muraco is with his manager Sherri Martel. Martel, who earlier tonight won the Ladies Championship, tells Muraco that after tonight's Elimination Chamber match that they both will have tittles wrapped around their waists.
Backstage: Bobby Heenan is talking to Heenan Family members World Champion Nick Bockwinkel and Don Leo Jonathan who are both 2 of the 6 competitors in tonight's Elimination Chamber match for Bockwinkel's World Championship. Heenan tells Bockwinkel and Jonathan that, although they don't know their order of entry in tonight's Elimination Chamber match, tonight's plan is to have Jonathan protecting Bockwinkel as much as possible to ensure Bockwinkel retains the World Championship.
Backstage: The Brothers of Other Mothers, Bobo Brazil and Mil Mascaras, are seen together and they promise to come to each others aid as much as possible in the Elimination Chamber.
Match #8, the main event: World Champion Nick Bockwinkel vs Bobo Brazil vs Mil Mascaras vs Don Leo Jonathan vs Don Muraco vs Jim Londos in an Elimination Chamber match.
Before this match began, ring announcer Gary Michael Cappetta reminded everyone that in this elimination chamber match 2 of the competitors would start the match against each other with the other 4 wrestlers assigned to chambers and that after every 5 minutes the doors to one of the chambers would randomly open and a new wrestler would enter the match. Cappetta also mentioned that wrestlers would be eliminated via pinfall or submission and the last remaining wrestler would win the match and the World Championship!
The 4 wrestlers assigned to pods were Londos, Bockwinkel, Jonathan, and Mascaras which left Brazil and Muraco to start the match against each other
Brazil and Muraco began the match by trading offense against each other and, although Muraco had to kick out of a couple of pin attempts as a result of 2 COCO BUTTS, both of them were still in the match when the 5 minute period expired and the lights started flashing on all of the chambers before stopping on the chamber for Bockwinkel. Outside of the Elimination Chamber, Bobby Heenan reacted with alarm as he realized that Bockwinkel's early entry into the Elimination Chamber with fellow Heenan Family member Jonathan still locked up in his chamber only further decreased the odds that Bockwinkel would walk away tonight with his World Championship.
Bockwinkel at first tried to stay out of the action and let Brazil and Muraco continue to battle each other. But after knocking Muraco down with a big hammer punch, Brazil noticed Bockwinkel and went right after him by grabbing him and throwing him over the top rope and into the elimination chamber's steel chain link. Bockwinkel landed badly hurt on the steel grading between the ropes and the chamber's walls. To make matters worse for Bockwinkel, the current 5 minute period expired and the lights started flashing until randomly stopping on the chamber of Mascaras. Outside of the Elimination Chamber, Heenan reacted with even more concerned as Bockwinkel is already in serious trouble but now has to deal with both of the Brothers of Other Mothers in Brazil and Mascaras!
Mascaras entered the match and went right to help his friend and tag team partner Brazil in double teaming Bockwinkel as Don Leo Jonathan pounded the glass wall of his chamber in frustration at not being able to help Bockwinkel. Mascaras put Bockwinkel in a bow and arrow while Brazil nailed Bockwinkel with a COCO BUTT- but somehow a bloody Bockwinkel managed to kick out of this and 3 other pin attempts made on him by the Brothers of Other Mothers during this 5 minute period. Meanwhile Muraco recovered in the corner and and attacked Mascaras. While Muraco and Mascaras proceeded to battle each other in another corner of the elimination chamber, Bockwinkel regained control of his battle with Brazil by dodging a head scissors and then raking Brazil's face against the steel chain link on the chamber's sides which caused Brazil to bleed badly. Bockwinkel then placed a blinded Brazil in his BOCKWINKEL SLEEPER and Brazil submitted to become the first elimination as the 5 minute period expired and Jonathan became the next wrestler to enter the match. Now Heenan was rejoicing outside of the chamber as Bockwinkel managed to eliminate Brazil and DLJ was now also in the match to help out Bockwinkel.
During this 5 minute period, DLJ shielded Bockwinkel while Muraco and Mascaras continued battling each other in the other side of the Elimination Chamber. Mascaras found himself in trouble when Sherri Martel reached into the Elimination Chamber and handcuffed Brazil to the side of the steel chain link. Before the referee could manage to free Mascaras, Muraco proceeded to kick him unmercifully. The current 5 minute period then ended and Londos became the last participant to enter the elimination chamber. Londos went right for Bockwinkel but was prevented from getting to him by Jonathan. Jonathan proceeded to work over Londos who appeared to be in serious trouble until, as Jonathan was pulling Londos's hair, Londos gave a low blow to Jonathan who immediately keeled over in pain. Londos then placed Jonathan in his BOSTON CRAB and this caused Jonathan to tap out and leave Bockwinkel alone in the chamber against Muraco, Mascaras, and Londos.
Before Londos could turn around to confront him, Bockwinkel reached into his trunks and grabbed a foreign object which he used to hit Londos with a forearm smash (roll of 3 on Bockwinkel's L1O). As Mascaras and Muraco continued to battle each other in the opposite corner, Bockwinkel proceeded to use his 2 finishers to wear down Londos who finally tapped out to Bockwinkel's FIGURE FOUR LEGLOCK to become eliminated.
After eliminating Londos, Bockwinkel decided to sit on the turnbuckle and watch and wait as Muraco and Mascaras continued to battle each other until Mascaras eliminated Muraco by pinfall via a FLYING BODYPRESS. The match was now down to Mascaras vs Bockwinkel!
As the door opened so the eliminated Muraco could exit, Heenan jumped into the Elimination Chamber and tried to blindside Mascaras. But Mascaras saw Heenan and placed him in a rolling head scissors. But Heenan's distraction allowed Bockwinkel to attack Mascaras from behind. Bockwinkel controlled most of the offense for the rest of the match and, although Mascaras managed to kick out of 2 pin attempts, Bockwinkel eventually won the match via his BOCKWINKEL SLEEPER.
Winner: Nick Bockwinkel. Bockwinkel retains his world Championship! (Note: For this match, I used the awesome Elimination Chamber match chart created by Poke).
As a bloody Bockwinkel and Heenan celebrate Bockwinkel's improbable victory tonight in the Elimination Chamber to retain his World Championship, MLW Chairman Bruno Sammartino arrived and told Bockwinkel that he (Sammartino) noticed that Bockwinkel had purposefully stayed out of the action as much as possible in this match and that he (Sammartino) would be interested in seeing how Mascaras could do in a one on one match vs Bockwinkel. Sammartino then announces that Bockwinkel will defend his world Championship against Mascaras in a steel cage match at the Royal Rumble later this month. As Bockwinkel and Heenan start to protest this announcement, New Years Revolution comes to an end.

Following the holiday PPVs of Hardcore Holidays (presented by the NWA brand) and New Years Revolution (presented by the AWA brand), both the AWA and NWA brands of Major League Wrestling return from the holidays this week to resume their normal full time schedule!
First up is a preview for this week's edition of AWA:RAW- the main weekly televised show of the AWA brand of Major League Wrestling!
Major League Wrestling (MLW) AWA:RAW PREVIEW for Thursday January 18, 2007 from Provo, Utah
This week on Major League Wrestling (MLW), both World Champion Nick Bockwinkel and Mil Mascaras, who will wrestle each other in steel cage for Bockwinkel's World Championship at the Royal Rumble, will pick each other's opponents for this week in Major League Wrestling's first Pick Your Poison matches since last Spring!
In addition, MLW Chairman Bruno Sammartino will reveal the names of the 15 wrestlers from the AWA brand who will be competing in the Royal Rumble match at the Royal Rumble PPV in which the winner will receive a title shot at Wrestlemania!
In addition, the Missing Link and his manager Abdullah Farouk will be the guests on Larry Land. Will they give us an update about the status of Frankie who is still being held in their possession and away from Koko B. Ware?
All this and much more this week on AWA:RAW!
Now it is time for this week's preview for NWA:NITRO- the main weekly televised show for the NWA brand of Major League Wrestling (MLW)!
Major League Wrestling (MLW) NWA:NITRO PREVIEW for Friday January 19, 2006 from Denver, CO
This week on NWA:NITRO, D**k Hutton, Rick Rude, and Mr. Canada (Billy "Red" Lyons) -who each won their matches at Hardcore Holidays- will compete in a triple threat match with the winner receiving a title shot against MLW Champion Buddy Rogers at the Royal Rumble!
Also, at Hardcore Holidays, Harley Race expressed clear frustration toward fellow Four Horsemen member Rogers for what Race perceived as a lack of support for him in his ladder match in which he lost the United States Championship. Will Rogers and Race be able to reconcile their differences or will the tension within the ranks of the Four Horsemen continue?
In addition, MLW Chairman Bruno Sammartino will reveal the names of the 15 wrestlers from the NWA brand who will be competing in the Royal Rumble match at the Royal Rumble PPV in which the winner will receive a title shot at Wrestlemania!
Finally, after winning their feud against Bruiser Brody and Steve "Dr. Death" Williams in their Hell in a Cell match at Hardcore Holidays, Sammartino has announced that the Road Warriors have received a title shot against the World Tag Team Champions the Fabulous Kangaroos at the Royal Rumble! But how will Brody and Williams rebound after their historical loss to the Road Warriors in their Hell in a Cell match at Hardcore Holidays?
All this and more this week on NWA:NITRO!

Major League Wrestling (MLW) AWA:RAW Friday January 19, 2007 Marriott Center (BYU campus) Provo, Utah (First Half of the show)
With just 9 days to go until the Royal Rumble, AWA:RAW this week is in Provo, Utah!
In the ring: MLW Chairman Bruno Sammartino with Mil Mascaras on one side and with World Champion Nick Bockwinkel and his manager Bobby Heenan on the other.
Sammartino: "As you know, next week Nick Bockwinkel defends his World Championship in a steel cage against Mil Mascaras at the Royal Rumble. Tonight, for the first time since last Spring, Major League Wrestling is having "pick your poison" matches as Mascaras and Bockwinkel will each decide who the other's opponent will be tonight on AWA:RAW!"
Sammartino: "Lets start with the champions first. Nick Bockwinkel, who will you assign to be Mil Mascaras' opponent tonight?"
Bockwinkel: "The Crusher." Bockwinkel and Heenan laugh as they just set up a match between Mascaras and avowed Heenan Family enemy The Crusher.
Sammartino: "OK, tonight it will be Mil Mascaras vs The Crusher. Now it is your turn Mil Mascaras to pick tonight's opponent for Bockwinkel."
Mascaras: "Don Leo Jonathan." Bockwinkel and Heenan react with alarm at hearing that Bockwinkel has to wrestle DLJ- another member of the Heenan Family.
Heenan: "You can't do that Mascaras. DLJ is part of the Heenan Family. We didn't make you wrestle your tag team partner Bobo Brazil."
Mascaras: "The rules say I can do that and I thought I would let DLJ get a chance to be in tonight's main event here in his home state of Utah."
Sammartino: "Very well. Tonight's double main event will be Mil Mascaras vs The Crusher and then Don Leo Jonathan vs World Champion Nick Bockwinkel!"
Match #1: Brutus Beefcake (accompanied by Cassandra) defeated Butcher Vachon (managed by "Wild" Red Berry).
Tonight's opening match featured one-half of the two tag teams (the Heart Thrashers and the MLW Tag Team Champions the Vachons) who will wrestle each other for the MLW Tag Team Championship next weekend at the Royal Rumble. The announcers remind everyone that the Heart Thrashers were the previous MLW Tag Team Champions and lost those belts early in a tag team turmoil match at Cyber Sunday which means the Heart Thrashers never actually personally lost to the Vachons who came in later in that tag etam turmoil match to win the MLW Tag Team Championship.
In tonight's match, Butch Vachon started off strong and appeared to have Beefcake in trouble early with his HANGMAN finisher. But Beefcake was able to make a comeback and win via his FLYING KNEE SMASH.
Backstage: Heenan with Bockwinkel.
Heenan: "Nick, Mascaras actually did us a favor tonight."
Bockwinkel: "How's that Bobby? Tonight I have to wrestle DLJ- another member of the Heenan Family."
Heenan: "Exactly! If Mascaras was smart he would have chosen someone like his tag team partner Bobo Brazil to be your opponent. But by choosing the Heenan Family's own DLJ, we can manipulate this match. Mascaras might as well have given you the night off."
Bockwinkel: "Bobby, that's brilliant. No wonder they call you "the Brain." Let's go talk to DLJ now."
Match #2: Buff Bagwell (accompanied by Cassandra) defeated Mad Dog Vachon (managed by "Wild" Red Berry).
In a great match that saw the action shift back and forth, Bagwell somehow survived 3 PILEDRIVERs from Mad Dog Vachon to win via his BUFF BLOCKBUSTER.
Along with Beefcake's victory over Butch Vachon in tonight's earlier match, this result means both members of the Heart Thrashers have defeated both of the Vachons in singles competition tonight. But what will happen next week at the Royal Rumble when the Heart Thrashers and the Vachons compete against each other as tag teams in a best 2 out of 3 falls match for the MLW Tag Team Championship?
Wrestlemania advertisement: To celebrate its one-year anniversary, both the AWA and the NWA brands of Major League Wrestling (MLW) will present Wrestlemania- the biggest card in the history of Major League Wrestling! Wrestlemania will take place in Las Vegas, NV and is now only 73 days away!
In the ring: Ring announcer Gary Michael Cappetta says it is now time to announce the names of 6 of the 15 wrestlers from the AWA brand who will be competing in next week's 30 man Royal Rumble. And that after their names are called, these 6 men will then have a 6 man tag team match right now!
Cappetta proceeds to read off the names of Antonino Rocca, Jimmy Snuka, Jim Londos, King Kong Bundy, Don Muraco, and Gorgeous George.
Match #3: Antonino Rocca, Jimmy Snuka, and Jim Londos vs King Kong Bundy, Don Muraco (managed by Ladies Champion Sherri Martel), and Gorgeous George ended in a DOUBLE DQ.
This surprisingly short match seemed about to end after Bundy gave Rocca the AVALANCHE. But Rocca had his foot on the ropes to prevent the 3 count. Bundy tagged in George who threw Rocca out of the ring and went out after him where they started brawling and both of them got DQd by the referee. But the action didn't stop as Rocca and George went back into the ring and continued to brawl where they were joined by Snuka, Londos, Bundy, and Muraco. As all 6 men brawled in the ring, the announcers remarked that scenes like this will be common in next week's 30 man Royal Rumble.
End of First Half. Second Half will be posted next and will include a list of the other 9 wrestlers on the AWA brand who will compete in the Royal Rumble, an episode of Larry Land with the Missing Link and Abdullah Farouk as his guests- will we find out more about Frankie's fate?, and tonight's two "pick your poison" matches of Mil Mascaras vs The Crusher and World Champion Nick Bockwinkel vs fellow Heenan Family member Don Leo Jonathan!

Major League Wrestling (MLW) AWA:RAW Friday January 19, 2007 Marriott Center (BYU campus) Provo, Utah (Second Half of the show, First Half is posted above)
In the Ring: MLW Chairman Bruno Sammartino announces the list of wrestlers from the AWA brand who will participate in next week's Royal Rumble. 1. Bobo Brazil 2. Jim Londos 3. Don Muraco 4. Don Leo Jonathan 5. Ray Stevens 6. King Kong Bundy 7. Ox Baker 8. Larry Zbyszko 9. Jimmy Snuka 10. Antonino Rocca 11. The Crusher 12. Larry Hennig 13. Gorgeous George 14. Hacksaw Jim Duggan 15. TBD
Sammartino then says that the list of 15 wrestlers from the NWA brand who will participate in the Royal Rumble will be released tomorrow night on NWA:NITRO but first the 15th and final spot on the list of AWA wrestlers in the Royal Rumble will be determined right now in a wild-card battle royal!
The wrestlers who enter the ring to participate in the wild card battle royal to win the AWA brand's final spot in the Royal Rumble: Killer Bees, Yukon Eric, Cousin Luke, S.D. Jones, Koko B. Ware, Iron Mike DiBiase, Playboy Buddy Rose, Red Bastien, Iron Sheik, Nikolai Volkoff, and Nikita Breznikov.
Match #4: Buddy Rose wins the wild card battle royal to secure a spot in the Royal Rumble.
Order of elimination: 1. Koko B. Ware 2. B. Brian Blair 3. Iron Sheik 4. Jim Brunzell 5. Red Bastien 6. Yukon Eric 7. Iron Mike DiBiase 8. S.D. Jones 9. Nikita Breznikov 10. Nikolai Volkoff 11. Cousin Luke Winner: Playboy Buddy Rose.
Larry Land: the Missing Link and Abdullah Farouk are the guests.
Intercontinental Champion Larry Zbyszko walks out accompanied by his bodyguard Cowboy Bob Orton Jr.
Zbyszko (to the BYU crowd): "After looking over the crowd who showed up tonight, I think BYU obviously stands for Bring Your Uglies."
Zbyszko: "Orton, what is the difference between a female BYU coed and an elephant?"
Orton Jr. : "I don't know Larry. What is the difference between a female BYU coed and an elephant?"
Zbyszko: "About 10 pounds from what I'm seeing here tonight."
Zbyszko: "If Brigham Young and the other Mormon settlers really thought this place was their promised land then I'd hate to see their version of Hell."
Zbyszko: "From what I'm hearing Jimmy Snuka is demanding a rematch because he is upset that I got DQd in our match for my Intercontinental Championship at New Year's Revolution earlier this month. But first I've got bigger fish to fry such as winning next weekend's Royal Rumble. And speaking of frying, here are our guests tonight: Abdullah Farouk and the Missing Link who at New Years Revolution defeated Koko B. Ware in a ladder match to win the right to keep Frankie."
The Missing Link and Farouk arrive on Larry Land. Farouk is carrying a plate of burgers.
Farouk: "Here Larry have a burger."
Zbyszko (while eating a burger): "Now that's what I call a tasty burger. It is so good that I don't even need to wash it down with some crappy diluted Utah beer."
Farouk: "Those are bird burgers. I'm glad you like them."
Zbyszko: "Bird burgers? Am I eating Frankie right now?"
Farouk: "No. The Missing Link decided he actually likes Frankie and has decided to keep him as a pet. I tried to show him how good bird burgers are, but the Missing Link wants to keep Frankie and that means, Koko B. Ware, that you will NEVER get Frankie back."
Zbyszko, Orton Jr, Farouk, and the Missing Link continue to eat their bird burgers as the camera then shifts to the backstage area.
Backstage: World Champion Nick Bockwinkel and Bobby Heenan are with fellow Heenan Family member Don Leo Jonathan.
Jonathan: "No, Nick, I'm not just going to lie down and let you easily defeat me tonight in my home state of Utah. It's unfortunate that we have to wrestle each other since we are both Heenan Family members, but I'm not going to make myself look like a joke. Plus, the way I figure it is that if I give you some legitimate competition tonight then you will be more prepared to defend your title against Mas Mascaras next weekend at the Royal Rumble."
DLJ then leaves as Bockwinkel and Heenan look worried about Bockwinkel's match with DLJ tonight.
Match #5: Mil Mascaras (accompanied by Bobo Brazil) defeated The Crusher (accompanied by Larry Hennig).
Before this pick your poison match in which Bockwinkel picked Heenan Family nemesis The Crusher as Mascaras' opponent tonight began, Mascaras and The Crusher (both fan favorites) shook hands. Both Mascaras and The Crusher competed hard against each other but made sure they didn't break the rules as Mascaras threw The Crusher out of the ring and, instead of following him out, waited until The Crusher was able to reenter the ring. Mascaras eventually won via his CROSSBODY ATTACK. Will Mascaras be able to duplicate his impressive success tonight next week at the Royal Rumble and defeat Nick Bockwinkel in their steel cage match to win the World Championship?
Match #6: World Champion Nick Bockwinkel defeated Don Leo Jonathan in a non-title match.
Although he was clearly uncomfortable at having to wrestle fellow Heenan Family member DLJ, who was chosen to be Bockwinkel's pick your poison opponent tonight by Mascaras, Bockwinkel actually controlled most of this match. The end came when DLJ threw Bockwinkel into the turnbuckle and charged after him with a running shoulder tackle. But Bockwinkel dodged out of the way and DLJ crashed hard into the empty turnbuckle. As DLJ staggered backward, Bockwinkel nailed him with a piledriver for the victory.
As Bockwinkel stood in the center of the ring holding his World Championship belt, he was suddenly grabbed from behind by DLJ and placed upon the shoulders of the Mormon giant. Although the announcers comment that it looked like DLJ at first wanted to drop Bockwinkel, DLJ proceeded to parade the victorious Bockwinkel around the ring amid a loud chorus of boos from the Utah crowd.
The announcers wonder aloud if Bockwinkel will still have that World Championship he is displaying after his steel cage match against Mil Mascaras next week at the Royal Rumble as the show comes to an end.
Fade to black.

With now only 9 days and 72 days to go until both the AWA and NWA brands of Major League Wrestling (MLW) respectively present the Royal Rumble and then Wrestlemania, it is now time for NWA:NITRO- the main weekly televised show of the NWA brand of Major League Wrestling (MLW)!
Major League Wrestling (MLW) NWA:NITRO Friday January 19, 2007 (broadcast date) at the Pepsi Center in Denver, CO
To start things off, ring announcer Gary Michael Cappetta announced that the opening match would be a fatal four way elimination match involving 4 of the 15 wrestlers from the NWA brand who will participate in the Royal Rumble next weekend! The 4 wrestlers for this opening match are: United States Champion Frank Gotch, Dan Severn, Diamond Dallas Page (accompanied by Diamond Doll Maxine Babe), and Ivan Koloff.
Match #1: Diamond Dallas Page defeated United States Champion Frank Gotch, Dan Severn, and Ivan Koloff in a fatal four way elimination match.
-Koloff pinned Gotch via a leg drop - Severn defeated Koloff via WAKIGATAME - DDP pinned Severn via DIAMOND CUTTER
- the announcers remark that this chaotic fatal four way elimination match is just a minor preview of what fans can expect next Sunday in the 30 man Royal Rumble match
Backstage: MLW Chairman Bruno Sammartino is in his office with the Road Warriors
-Road Warriors ask Sammartino to delay their title shot at the World Tag Team Championship until No Way Out instead of next weekend at the Royal Rumble.
-Road Warriors explain to Sammartino that they would instead prefer to participate in the Royal Rumble match next weekend which is their type of match
-Sammartino says OK- the Road Warriors will challenge for the World Tag Team Championship at Now Way Out and next Sunday participate in the Royal Rumble instead of challenging the World Tag Team Champions the Fabulous Kangaroos at the Royal Rumble.
-Sammartino then says he will have a #1 contenders match between the Midnight Express and the Armstrongs later tonight with the winner challenging the World Tag Team Champions the Fabulous Kangaroos at the Royal Rumble.
Commercial break occurs.
In the Ring: Sammartino says he will now announce the 15 wrestlers from the NWA brand who will join the 15 wrestlers from the AWA brand (introduced on my previous AWA:RAW show) in the 30 man Royal Rumble next weekend with the winner receiving a main event title shot at Wrestlemania! 1. Frank Gotch 2. Dan Severn 3. Diamond Dallas Page 4. Ivan Koloff 5. Hawk 6. Animal 7. Harley Race 8. Giant Baba 9. Antonio Inoki 10. George Hackenschmidt 11. Bruiser Brody 12. Steve "Dr. Death" Williams 13. TBD 14. TBD 15. TBD
Sammartino goes on to explain that 2 of these undetermined spots will go to the two losers of tonight's triple threat match between Richard Hutton, Mr. Canada (Billy "Red" Lyons) , and Rick Rude in which the winner of this match will challenge MLW Champion Buddy Rogers at the Royal Rumble.
The final TBD spot, Sammartino says, will go to the winner of a wild card battle royal of NWA brand wrestlers and this battle royal starts now!
Match #2: Johnny Valentine won a wild card battle royal to secure the final spot in the Royal Rumble!
Battle Royal participants: United States Tag Team Champions the Valentines, Johnny Valiant, "Precious" Paul Ellering, Bob Orton Sr, the Barroom Heroes (Sandman and Justin Credible), Operation:Pimp (Hardcore Hodge and Steve Corino), the Boogie Woogie Man, Ted DiBiase, and the Terrible Turk.
Order of elimination: 1. Greg Valentine 2. Bob Orton Sr. 3. Ted DiBiase 4. Hardcore Hodge 5. Johnny Valiant 6. Terrible Turk 7. "Precious" Paul Ellering 8. Steve Corino 9. Sandman 10. Justin Credible 11. Boogie Woogie Man Winner: Johnny Valentine
Backstage: Killer Kowalski is with Bruiser Brody and Steve "Dr. Death" Williams
-Kowalski tells Brody and Williams he is upset that they lost their Hell in a Cell match to the Road Warriors at Hardcore Holidays.
-Williams responds that it wasn't he who lost the match and turns toward Brody who had suffered the pinfall by Animal via a POWERSLAM at Hardcore Holidays.
-Kowalski says he is introducing a new member to the Dungeon of Doom as a masked man dressed in black with two white horns sticking out of the side of his mask walks up. Kowalski says this new member is Sam Hayne and instructs Brody and Williams to watch and learn something as Hayne's debut match is next.
-As Kowalski and Hayne leave for the ring, Williams turns and tells Brody to stay the hell out of his (Williams) way next weekend at the Royal Rumble and then walks off.
-Alone, Brody violently slams his chain against a set of lockers in frustration.
Match #3: Sam Hayne (managed by Killer Kowalski) defeated Virgil
-Virgil started off the match attempting to give Hayne a dropkick, but it seemingly had no effect against the big man. Hayne responded with a series of moves that included a pit-of-hell powerslam, a couple of skeletal claws, and a satancanrana. Although Virgil managed a brief comeback, Hayne dominated most of this match and nearly won when he placed Virgil in his DEVIL LOCK except Virgil grabbed the rope. Hayne proceeded to win the match and completely shock everyone in the crowd by giving Virgil HELL'S FLAMES (FLAMES OF HELL?) in which he astonishingly blew a burst of flame from his mouth that hit Virgil and resulted in a 3 count.
(note: Sam Hayne is one of the 2 new LOW cards created with permission from Tom Filsinger that are in the first issue of the Indy magazine).
After Sam Hayne was awarded the victory, Kowalski said that Hayne was signed by Major League Wrestling (MLW) too late to be eligible for the Royal Rumble but is still issuing an open challenge for anyone brave enough to face him in a match at the Royal Rumble. Hardcore Hodge then came out and agreed to wrestle Sam Hayne at the Royal Rumble next weekend.
End of First Half. Second Half will be posted next and includes the Armstrongs vs the Midnight Express in a #1 contenders match with the winner challenging the World Tag Team Champions the Fabulous Kangaroos at the Royal Rumble and a triple threat match of Richard Hutton vs Mr. Canada (Lyons) vs Rick Rude with the winner receiving a title shot against MLW Champion Buddy Rogers at the Royal Rumble!

Major League Wrestling (MLW) NWA:NITRO Friday January 19, 2007 (broadcast date) at the Pepsi Center in Denver, CO (Second Half of the show, First Half is posted above)
Match #4: Midnight Express (managed by Jim Cornette and accompanied by Dennis Condrey) easily defeated the Armstrongs in a #1 contenders match to win the right to challenge the World Tag Team Champions the Fabulous Kangaroos next weekend at the Royal Rumble.
-The World Tag Team Champions the Fabulous Kangaroos and their manager Captain Kangaroo provided guest commentary for this match.
- The Midnight Express got off to an early quick advantage as Cornette got away with reaching through the ropes to smash his tennis racket against the leg of "Bullet" Bob Armstrong. Stan Lane and Bobby Eaton then immediately gave the "Bullet" a Flapjack followed by a ROCKET LAUNCHER for the easy fast victory. The Midnight Express will thus challenge the World Tag Team Champions the Fabulous Kangaroos in a title match next weekend at the Royal Rumble!
-After the match, the Midnight Express looked at the Kangaroos at the commentary table and gestured around their waists to indicate that they would become the new World Tag Team Champions at the Royal Rumble. The announcers remark that if the Midnight Express wrestle as good as they did tonight next weekend at the Royal Rumble then they will likely start their third reign as the World Tag Team Champions.
Backstage: The Four Horsemen (MLW Champion Buddy Rogers, Harley Race, and the United States Tag Team Champions the Valentines) are in the locker room with their associate George Hackenschmidt.
-Rogers asks Race why he has entered the Royal Rumble since the MLW Championship is already in the possession of the Four Horsemen.
-To Rogers discomfort, Race says that if he (Race) wins the Royal Rumble he can either challenge Rogers for the MLW Championship at Wrestlemania and thus that title will be guaranteed to remain within the Horsemen or he (Race) could instead go to the AWA brand if he wins the Royal Rumble and challenge for the World Championship at Wrestlemania and thus the Horsemen could reign over both brands of Major League Wrestling.
-As Race leaves the area, Rogers tells Hackenschmidt and Johnny Valentine (who are both also in the Royal Rumble) that Race challenging Rogers or Race leaving for the AWA brand are both not in the best interests of the Four Horsemen and that, if they have the opportunity in the Rumble match next weekend, they need to ensure Race gets eliminated for the sake of the Horsemen.
Match #6, the main event: Rick Rude defeated D**k Hutton and Mr. Canada (aka Billy "Red" Lyons) in a triple threat #1 contenders match to win the right to challenge MLW Champion Buddy Rogers at the Royal Rumble next weekend.
- this match featured 3 winners in Rude, Hutton, and Mr. Canada of their singles matches at the recent Hardcore Holidays PPV presented by MLW's NWA brand.
- this long match which involved a total of 12 pin attempts ended when Rude pinned Mr. Canada via the RUDE AWAKENING. While Mr. Canada and Hutton will participate in the Rumble match itself, it will thus be Rick Rude vs MLW Champion Buddy Rogers in a title match at next weekend's Royal Rumble.
End of show.
See you next weekend for the Royal Rumble presented by both the AWA and NWA brands of Major League Wrestling (MLW)!

It is now time for the Royal Rumble PPV presented together by both the AWA and the NWA brands of Major League Wrestling (MLW)!
Major League Wrestling (MLW) Royal Rumble Sunday January 28, 2007 AT & T Center in San Antonio, TX (First Third of the PPV)
The Royal Rumble was preceded by a 30 minute edition of Major League Wrestling: Fight Night which recapped all of the major story lines leading up to the Royal Rumble and included two dark matches.
AWA brand Dark Match: Iron Sheik and Nikolai Volkoff (managed by Nikita Breznikov) defeated the Killer Bees when B. Brian Blair was hit from behind by the Iron Sheik and then forced to submit to a Russian Bear Hug by Volkoff.
NWA brand Dark Match: Bob Orton Sr defeated Ted DiBiase via a PILEDRIVER.
Match #1: Hardcore Hodge (accompanied by Steve Corino) vs Sam Hayne (managed by Killer Kowalski). (note: Sam Hayne is one of the 2 LOW cards created with permission by Tom Filsinger that are included in the current edition of the Pulse Indy magazine).
-As this match is set to begin, the announcers remark how Hayne made his debut in Major League Wrestling on the last edition of NWA:NITRO when he joined Kowalski's Dungeon of Doom and then easily defeated Virgil before making an open challenge for someone to face him in a match at the Royal Rumble which was answered by Hardcore Hodge.
-Accompanied by Corino, his partner in the tag team Operation:Pimp, Hodge looked great in the opening minutes of this match as the announcers remarked how much better Hodge typically looks against junior heavyweights such as Hayne who weighs in at 215 lbs. But Hayne managed to battle back only to get DQd when the referee caught him using HELL'S FLAMES against Hodge by which Hayne blows flames out of his mouth. As Corino attended to Hodge who was covering his face on the mat in pain, Hayne walked back to the locker room in an intimidating fashion despite not picking up the victory.
Winner: Hardcore Hodge by DQ.
Backstage: MLW Chairman Bruno Sammartino and Bill Apter are in Sammartino's office standing next to the hopper (operated by former Ladies Champion Ida Mae Martinez and Phantasy- manager of the Barroom Heroes) that contains the ping pong balls numbered 1-30 for tonight's Royal Rumble match in which the winner receives an automatic main event title shot at Wrestlemania.
- Diamond Dallas Page and Diamond Doll Maxine Babe walk in. DDP selects his # and show it to Maxine Babe before shrugging and leaving.
-Jim Londos walks in and gets his number. After looking at his number, a sign of disappointment is evident on Londos' face as he sighs and slowly shakes his head.
Match #2: MLW Tag Team Champions the Vachons (managed by "Wild" Red Berry) vs the Heart Thrashers (managed by Cassandra) in a best 2 out of 3 falls match for the MLW Tag Team Championship.
-The announcers remark that, although the Heart Thrashers were the former MLW Tag Team Champions, the Vachons never actually pinned them to win the title as the Vachons instead won and the Heart Thrashers lost the title in a tag team turmoil match at Cyber Sunday in which the Heart Thrashers had the misfortune to draw an early number in that match.
- In the first fall, the Vachons dominated the action and won when Butcher Vachon made Brutus Beefcake submit to his HANGMAN. The Vachons are up 1-0.
-In the second fall, the Heart Thrashers did a little better but lost when Buff Bagwell threw Mad Dog Vachon into the turnbuckle and charged after him with a double axe handle only to get rammed in the head with a raised boot to the face by Mad Dog Vachon who had pushed himself up the turnbuckle. Mad Dog Vachon then hit Bagwell with a PILEDRIVER for the victory to win the fall and thus the match at 2-0.
Winners: Vachons, 2-0. Vachons retain the MLW Tag Team Championship.
Backstage: In MLW Bruno Sammartino's office where wrestlers are randomly selecting their numbers for the Royal Rumble match.
-Intercontinental Champion Larry Zbyszko and his bodyguard Cowboy Bob Orton Jr arrogantly walk in.
Zbyszko: "Selecting my number is only a formality as I am predestined to win tonight's Royal Rumble and then go on to headline Wrestlemania after which I will leave a double champion with both the World Championship and my Intercontinental Championship."
Zbyszko draws his number and, before looking at it, shows it to Sammartino.
Sammartino: "Not too bad, but not that great either."
Zbyszko and Orton Jr then look at the number on the ping pong ball that Zbyszko selected and don't look too happy at what they see.
Match #3: World Tag Team Champions the Fabulous Kangaroos (managed by Captain Kangaroo- Albano) vs the Midnight Express (managed by Jim Cornette and accompanied by Dennis Condrey) in a best 2 out of 3 falls match for the World Tag Team Championship.
- The announcers remark how the Road Warriors have already been promised a title shot at No Way Out against the team that leaves this match with the World Tag Team Championship.
- In the first fall, the Midnight Express looked really impressive as they controlled almost all of the action and got the quick victory when Bobby Eaton pinned Roy Heffernan via a spinning neckbreaker. The two time former World Tag Team Champions the Midnight Express are up 1-0 and look like they might be set to start their third title reign.
- In the second fall, the Fabulous Kangaroos looked much better and Heffernan appeared to have Stan Lane pinned when Condrey entered the ring and tried to clothesline Heffernan who ducked which caused Condrey to hit Lane instead. Cornette then entered the ring and tried to nail Heffernan with his tennis racket but Heffernan instead whipped Cornette into Lane where his tennis racket accidentally smashed Lane. The Fabulous Kangaroos then gave Lane their BOOMERANG finisher for the pinfall victory and to tie things up at 1-1.
-In the third and deciding fall, the action shifted back and forth until Al Costello finally made Bobby Eaton tap out to his MARBLE BOR LEGLOCK. The Fabulous Kangaroos thus win this match 2-1 to keep the World Tag Team Championship!
Winners: Fabulous Kangaroos, 2-1. Fabulous Kangaroos retain the World Tag Team Championship.
Backstage: In Sammartino's office, the Road Warriors walk in.
-Apter mentions how the Fabulous Kangaroos' victory in the last match tonight means it will be the Fabulous Kangaroos defending the World Tag Team Championship against the Road Warriors at Now Way Out next month and how the Fabulous Kangaroos and the Road Warriors have never wrestled each other before. The Road Warriors respond that they will be ready for the Kangaroos at No Way Out but first are eager to kick some butt in the Royal Rumble match tonight. Hawk and Animal select their numbers and then leave Sammartino's office.
-After the Road Warriors leave, the Four Horsemen (MLW Champion Buddy Rogers, Harley Race, the United States Tag Team Champions the Valentines, and their associate George Hackenschmidt) walk in.
-Johnny Valentine and Hackenschmidt select their numbers for the Rumble and Rogers look pleased with the results.
-Race (with whom Rogers has had tensions with lately due to Race's desire to receive a title shot) then draws his number. Rogers pretends to be pleased with the number Race draws and pats him on the back.
-As Race then leaves the room, Rogers motions to Johnny Valentine and Hackenschmidt to join him in a corner where he is heard whispering to them: "I need to go to the ring for my match now. But if you two are still in the Rumble when Harley enters, for the sake of the Horsemen, you need to make sure Harley does not win the Royal Rumble tonight."
End of First Third. Second Third will be posted next and will include two title matches as MLW Champion Buddy Rogers defends his title against Rick Rude and World Champion Buddy Rogers defends his title against Mil Mascaras in a steel cage match!

Major League Wrestling (MLW) Royal Rumble Sunday January 28, 2007 AT & T Center in San Antonio, TX (Second Third of the PPV, First Third is posted above)
Match #4: Rick Rude vs MLW Champion Buddy Rogers.
-The announcers remark how this match between two rule breakers came about because Rude won a triple threat #1 contenders match on the most recent edition of NWA:NITRO.
-Rude started off strong and firmly in control as he leveled Rogers with a series of clotheslines, suplexes, swinging neckbreakers and a top rope sledgehammer. But Rogers gained the offensive by maneuvering out of a reverse atomic drop and then giving Rude a piledriver. A few moves later Rogers gave Rude a pole ram and went for the pin. Rude kicked out, but while Rude's legs were still in the air from the kick out, Rogers grabbed them and immediately applied his FIGURE FOUR GRAPEVINE which caused Rude to tap out.
Winner: Buddy Rogers. Rogers retains the MLW Championship.
Backstage: In MLW Chairman Bruno Sammartino's office, Don Muraco enters with his manager Ladies Champion Sherri Martel to pick his number for the Rumble. After selecting his number, Muraco shows it to Martel. As Martel screams out in excitement, Muraco says: "Wrestlemania, here I come" before departing Sammartino's office.
Backstage: World Champion Nick Bockwinkel an his manager Bobby Heenan are walking down the corridor on their way to the ring for Bockwinkel's steel cage match title defense against Mil Mascaras when they encounter avowed Heenan Family member enemy The Crusher. The Crusher says he just came from Sammartino's office to select his number which he shows to Bockwinkel and Heenan and a look of extreme worry quickly spreads across their faces as they see what number The Crusher has drawn.
Match #5: Mil Mascaras vs World Champion Nick Bockwinkel (managed by Bobby Heenan) in a steel cage match.
-The announcers remark that this match came about after Bockwinkel defeated Mascaras and 4 other wrestlers in an Elimination Chamber match at New Years Revolution to retain his World Championship. But because Bockwinkel spent much of the match purposefully trying to avoid the action while hiding behind fellow Heenan Family member Don Leo Jonathan and because Mascaras was the last one eliminated by Bockwinkel in that match, Sammartino ordered Bockwinkel to defend his World Champion once again at the Royal Rumble but this time in a 1 on 1 match vs Mascaras in a steel cage.
-This turned out to be a largely scientific steel cage match as Mascaras started off in control and applied all types of moves such as standing surfboards, Indian deathlocks, octopus holds, and vertical suplexes against Bockwinkel. But Bockwinkel gained the offensive after being thrown into the turnbuckle by Mascaras who charged in after him only to crash hard into the turnbuckle as Bockwinkel managed to dodge out of the way in time. Bockwinkel then went to work on Mascaras and ended up winning via his FIGURE FOUR LEGLOCK.
-After the match, Bockwinkel's manager Bobby Heenan got on the microphone and said it did not matter what number The Crusher drew for the Rumble because there are 4 Heenan Family members in King Kong Bundy, Don Leo Jonathan, Ox Baker, and Ray Stevens who are also in the Royal Rumble match tonight and they have been instructed to target The Crusher!
Winner: Nick Bockwinkel. Bockwinkel retains the World Championship.
Backstage: In Sammartino's office, Bobo Brazil enters and selects his number. After seeing what number he drew, a wide smile spreads across his face. As he shows his number to Sammartino and Bill Apter to get officially recorded, Apter comments that although Bockwinkel defeated Mascaras tonight, it is quite possible that Bockwinkel will have to defend his title against the other member of the Brothers of Other Mothers in Bobo Brazil at Wrestlemania based on the number that Brazil just drew.
-As Brazil leaves, MLW Champion Buddy Rogers enters accompanied by fellow Four Horsemen member Greg Valentine. Rogers has a bottle of champagne and is clearly heavily intoxicated as he is celebrating and bragging to Sammartino about his successful title defense against Rick Rude earlier tonight.
-Giant Baba and Antonio Inoki then enter to select their numbers for the Rumble. Inoki selects his number and clearly does not like the result he gets. Baba then selects his number which he also does not like and, as Baba throws his arms up in frustration, he bumps into Rogers behind him which causes Rogers to spill the rest of his champagne all over himself. An angry and drunk Rogers angrily turns around and shouts profanity at Baba before violently slamming the now empty champagne bottle violently against Baba's head. Baba then slumped to the floor as blood trickled out of his head. Rogers then said: "That's what you get for messing with the Nature Boy. Whoooooooo!"
-Rogers then points to a badly bleeding Baba and laughs as paramedics and EMTs prepare to take the badly injured Baba to the hospital.
-Rogers (to Sammartino): "Hey Bruno, it doesn't look like Giant Baba is going to headline Wrestlemania as he now wont even be in the Royal Rumble tonight."
-Sammartino (upon reaching down to pick up the number that Baba had selected): "Actually Buddy, I think Giant Baba's chances of headlining Wrestlemania just improved to 50%. It is unlikely Baba would have won the Rumble tonight because he drew #7. But since he can't even participate in the Rumble tonight thanks to your actions here, I have decided that he will be your opponent at No Way Out for your MLW Championship. Furthermore, since you seem to enjoy the sight of blood here and cutting someone open, I have decided that your match vs Giant Baba at No Way Out will be the first-ever barbed wire steel cage match in Major League Wrestling's history."
-As Rogers starts to protest Sammartino's plans for him at No Way Out, this portion of the Royal Rumble PPV comes to an end.
End of Second Third. Final Third will be posted next and will be the Royal Rumble match itself. Find out who will win the Royal Rumble to receive a main event title shot at Major League Wrestling's Wrestlemania!

Following last weekend's Royal Rumble PPV, it is now time for this week's previews for the televised shows of both the AWA and the NWA brands of Major League Wrestling (MLW)!
First up is the preview for this week's edition of AWA:RAW- the main weekly televised show for the AWA brand of Major League Wrestling (MLW)!
Major League Wrestling (MLW) AWA:RAW PREVIEW for Thursday February 1, 2007 from Dallas, TX
Harley Race of the NWA brand won the Royal Rumble last weekend to earn he right for a main event title match at Wrestelmania. But the unanswered question is will Race stay on the NWA brand and challenge at Wrestlemania the winner of the barbed wire steel cage match at No Way Out between Giant Baba and Race's fellow Horsemen and current MLW Champion Buddy Rogers? Or will Race decide to return to the AWA brand from which he was drafted last summer and challenge at Wrestlemania former fellow Heenan Family member and current World Champion Nick Bockwinkel?
In the event that Race elects to remain on the AWA brand and challenge for the MLW Championship at Wrestlemania, MLW Chairman Bruno Sammartino has ordered an 8 man tournament to begin this week to determine Bockwinkel's challenger for the World Championship at Wrestlemania with the possibility that this title match at Wrestlemania could become a triple threat match if Race does decide to return to the AWA brand and challenge Bockwinkel.
The First Round matches for this #1 contenders tournament will be held this week and this is the lineup:
Bobo Brazil vs Larry Hennig The Crusher vs Don Muraco Mil Mascaras vs Intercontinental Champion Larry Zbyszko Antonino Rocca vs Jim Londos
In addition, Koko B. Ware will wrestle the Missing Link who under the guidance of manager Abdul Farouk continues to possess Frankie and there will be a tag team elimination match of the Killer Bees vs the Iron Sheik and Nikolai Volkoff vs the Heart Thrashers (Brutus Beefcake and Buff Bagwell) to determine the new #1 contender for the MLW Tag Team Championship currently held by the Vachons.
All this and more this week on AWA:RAW!
Now it is time for the preview for this week's edition of NWA:NITRO- the main weekly televised show for the NWA brand of Major League Wrestling (MLW)!
Major League Wrestling (MLW) NWA:NITRO PREVIEW for Friday February 2, 2007 Houston, TX
This week on NWA:NITRO, the main event is a tag team match that will feature Giant Baba and Antonio Inoki vs MLW Champion Buddy Rogers and Harley Race! Baba and Rogers are set to confront each other in a barbed wire steel cage match at Now Way Out for Rogers' MLW Championship. But how much help can Rogers expect from fellow Horsemen Race with whom Rogers has had evident tensions with in recent weeks and who last weekend won the Royal Rumble and now has the right to challenge for the MLW Championship currently held by Rogers at Wrestlemania?
In addition, there will be a triple threat #1 contenders match of Diamond Dallas Page vs Dan Severn vs Ivan Koloff with the winner receiving a title shot against United States Champion Frank Gotch at No Way Out!
Also, the Road Warriors will prepare for their match against the World Tag Team Champions the Fabulous Kangaroos at No Way Out by taking on the Barroom Heroes (Sandman and Justin Credible).
Furthermore, Hardcore Hodge has vowed to make Sam Hayne and any other fellow Dungeon of Doom member that teams up with him pay in a tag team match vs Operation:Pimp (Hardcore Hodge and Steve Corino) this weekend after Hayne hurt Hodge in their match at the Royal Rumble by shooting flames from his mouth!
All this and more this week on NWA:NITRO!

Major League Wrestling (MLW) AWA:RAW Thursday February 1, 2007 from Dallas, TX (First Half of the show)
In the Ring: World Champion Nick Bockwinkel is in the ring accompanied by his manager Bobby Heenan and the rest of the Heenan Family which includes Ray Stevens, Don Leo Jonathan, King Kong Bundy, and Ox Baker.
-Bockwinkel says he wants to extend congratulations to former Heenan Family member Harley Race who won the Royal Rumble last weekend to earn a main event title shot at Wrestlemania.
-Bockwinkel also says he is confident Race will choose to stay on the NWA brand and at Wrestlemania wrestle the winner of the main event barbed wire steel cage match at No Way Out between Giant Baba and MLW Champion Buddy Rogers (Race's fellow member in the Four Horsemen) instead of choosing to return back to the AWA brand and challenge himself (Bockwinkel).
-Bockwinkel finishes his opening speech by saying that no matter who wins the 8 man tournament that starts tonight to determine his (Bockwinkel's) opponent at Wrestlemania, with the possibility of a triple threat match if Race indeed decides to come back to the AWA brand and challenge Bockwinkel, they will lose to him at Wrestlemania.
Match #1: Missing Link (managed by Abdullah Farouk) defeated Koko B. Ware.
-To Ware's disappointment, the Missing Link did not bring Frankie (who the Missing Link birdnapped from Ware last month) down to the ringside area.
-Ware was in command until the end when he got tripped by Farouk and then immediately hit with the Missing Link's BACK FLYING HEADBUTT for the loss.
Match #2: Gorgeous George defeated Jimmy Snuka.
-Before the match began, Jimmy Snuka said he was not in the tournament that starts tonight because he first wants to finish his quest for revenge against Intercontinental Champion Larry Zbyszko and obtain a rematch for Zbyszko's Intercontinental Championship after Zbyszko got himself DQd at New Years Revolution to retain his title.
-Snuka was in control against his former enemy George until he went for a SUPERFLY LEAP which he missed (roll of 6) after Zbyszko came out to distract him. George immediately then applied his SPINNING TOE HOLD to which Snuka tapped out.
Match #3: Iron Sheik and Nikolai Volkoff (managed by Nikita Breznikov) defeated the Killer Bees and the Heart Thrashers (Brutus Beefcake and Buff Bagwell, managed by Cassandra) in a tag team elimination match to become the new #1 contenders to the MLW Tag Team Championship held by the Vachons.
-current MLW Tag Team Champions the Vachons and their manager "Wild" Red Berry provided guest commentary for this match which was held to determine the Vachons' new #1 contenders after they successfully defended their title against the Heart Thrashers at the Royal Rumble last weekend.
-Killer Bees were eliminated when Buff Bagwell pinned Jim Brunzell via BUFF BLOCKBUSTER.
-Heart Thrashers were eliminated when Buff Bagwell was forced to tap out to the Iron Sheik's CAMEL CLUTCH to end what turned out to be a great match.
-The Iron Sheik and Nikolai Volkoff are the new #1 contenders to the MLW Tag Team Championship held by the Vachons!
End of First Half. Second Half will be posted next and will include the four First Round matches to determine the challenger of World Champion Nick Bockwinkel at Wrestlemania!
