A Night to Remember

Jim Cornette is in the back getting his team ready. The Midnight Express is stretching and warming up for what could be one of their longest nights but could lead them to their biggest accomplishment.

Opening Match
In a mostly one sided affair, the Sandman pounds Koko B. Ware, finishing him off with the SINGAPORE CANE. The bell rings but the Sandman doesn't stop his assault. The crowd begins to cheer. "AIYO!!!!" Sandman turns and sees Hacksaw with his trusty two by four and bolts.

Greg Valentine stands in the back.
"I'm going to start off my night by grounding the so called "Superfly" and then I'll hammer whoever else is in my way. Take a long, hard look at the first NEWF Television champion."

First Round
King Kong Bundy can't keep up with the Homocidal, Suicidal, Genocidal maniac that is Sabu. Bundy is put away after a CAMEL CLUTCH. Sabu moves on.

First Round
In the other first round matchup, Jimmy Snuka piledrives Greg Valentine to pick up the win. The fans go crazy as the hated Valentine is forced to eat his words.

"Cowboy" Bob Orton has a microphone in the ring.
"What an honor it is to be here in fromt of all the NEWF fans. I've put my days of rulebreaking and cheating behind me because I have enough guts to win that there title the right way. And I know I gotta fight through some tough competitors but with you on my side, I can take the belt ho..."

"Wait just a minute here. You mean to tell me that you are gonna pander to all these stinkbreath nobodies in this arena?"

The voice was coming out of Harley Race.

"You make me sick, Orton. Tellin these people you changed your ways. I bet you haven't. I bet you'll cheat as much as you gotta to get to that belt...just like I will."

Orton spoke: "Harley, you're full of garbage just like you always been. And I'm not gonna have anyone tell me I didn't win that belt fair and square in the middle of this ring."

Race: "That's a bunch of bulls***. You know and I know." Race was in the ring now. "Because I'm gonna win that belt."

Orton: "To hell you will." Orton explodes on Race with a flurry of lefts and rights. Race retreats.

NEWF Tag Team Championship
First Round

The Legion of Doom hit the DOOMSDAY DEVICE on Virgil before Dibiase can even hit the ring. Hawk and Animal look like they will take some momentum into the finals.

In the other match, Stan Lane gets the pin on Jim Brunzell when he hits a brutal enziguri. Cornette harasses Blair so he can't interfere and the Midnight Express rolls on.

In the back, security and referees are trying to split up a brawl. When the competitors are finally separated, we see Greg Valentine has laid out Koko B. Ware.

NEWF World Heavyweight
First Round

Harley Race picks up the win over the Iron Sheik after a hard vertical suplex. Race walks around gesturing that the belt will be his.

In the other match, Nick Bockwinkel and "Cowboy" Bob Orton put on a solid match with Orton getting the pinfall after a SUPERPLEX. The fans were behind Orton, forgiving him of past sins, but he did use a few lowball tactics to get the win.

Nikolai Volkoff is sitting in the back eating chicken legs when Iron Sheik barges in upset at his loss. He starts screaming and throwing things around.

Volkoff: "Why you mad?"

Sheik: "I lost"

Volkoff: "You had a match...?"

NEWF Television Championship

In a battle for the ages, Sabu outlasts Snuka and forces Superfly to tap out to the CAMEL CLUTCH. Sabu carries the title out in his teeth.

NEWF Tag Team Championship

A back and forth battle until Cornette hits Bobby Eaton with his tennis racket and the Road Warriors hit Lane with DOOMSDAY DEVICE. Hawk and Animal are the first Tag Champs.

A familiar laugh breaks out in the arena and the Million Dollar Man comes down to the ring with Virgil.
"Congratulations Hawk and Animal. You are the first Tag Team Champions. However, I will offer you an undisclosed amount, I mean name your price to give up your belts to me and my man Virgil here. It's only fair since I didn't even get a chance to wrestle you."

Hawk snatches the microphone away.
"There's about the same chance I'll trade money for my championship as there is of pigs flying, Dibiase. But just to fair considering you didn't get to have a beating from Animal and me, you can have the first shot."

NEWF World Heavyweight Championship
Orton and Race battle it out in a solid bout but Race eventually sticks to his guns and hits Orton in the throat with a chair and wins after a neckbreaker. Harley Race is the first NEWF Heavyweight Champion.

Race is booed as he celebrates his win and flaunts his new belt in front of the fallen Cowboy.
