Heartland Wrestling Alliance “Welcome to the world famous Civic Auditorium in Omaha, Nebraska and we have a momentous card for you this evening! This is the announcer for the HWA Bill Mercer and welcome to the first two rounds of the National Championship tournament.”(Theme from “Six Million Dollar Man” and opening segment played on the stadium’s teletron) “Let’s go down to the ring and give the microphone to our announcer Marc Lowrance for the first match.”National Championship Tournament: Qualifying Round: Bobo Brazil (2) pinned Bob Orton Sr. (4):Orton made this a nail biter as he used his PILEDRIVER finisher and nearly pinned the Michigan native but Bobo would make his comeback in a grand fashion! After a big hammer punch and an improvised powerbomb, Brazil used several COCO BUTTS for the victory. (***). Johnny Valentine crushed Danny Doring (4): Valentine was irate that he was placed in the preliminary rounds! Johnny took his frustrations on Doring and handed the “legend” his backside with the ATOMIC SKULLCRUSHER. (**). Buff Bagwell (2) (w/ Sherri Martel) cheated past Don Leo Jonathan (3): “The Madman from Mormon Country” controlled most of the bout but the deciding factor would be Sherri Martel! Jonathan used his MORMON SWING but the Sensational Sherri distracted David Manning (the ref) while she handed Buff one of her high heeled shoes! WHAMMO! A smack from the pointed heel and a BUFF BLOCKBUSTER gained Sherri’s charge an opening round bid. (** ½). “Oh wow! Sensational Sherri sure looks smug after she used the illegal tactics to give the so-called ‘Buff the Stuff’ a cheap and tainted victory! Ladies and gentlemen, the qualifying matches are just the tip of the iceberg for the future of the HWA! Stay tuned and we’ll be back after these commercial messages…”[Fill in your favorite commercial here] “Thanks for rejoining us and welcome back. Once again, this is Bill Mercer and the first round is about to commence. Once again, we divert your attention to the ring with the head referee David Manning and the ring announcer Marc Lowrance!”First Round: Bobo Brazil (1) defeated Tiger Mask (2): Bobo easily put away the junior heavyweight with a COCO BUTT. The only offense that the Japanese star mounted was a school boy roll up that Brazil easily kicked out of effortlessly. (** ½) Antonio Inoki (0) overpowered Konnan (3): A squash! The Mexican superstar was simply outclassed and was forced to tap out with one of several OCTOPUS HOLDS. (* ½). Jim Londos (1) stunned Rikidozan (1): A back and forth affair for the opening minutes and Londos pulled an upset with the BOSTON CRAB that shocked everyone in the arena that the match ended so quickly! (*). Giant Baba (2) slammed Mil Mascaras (1): The enormous Baba used his size and power to ground the Latino legend from his potential aerial attacks. The Japanese star put down the man of thousand masks with the NECKBREAKER DROP for the three count. (* ½). “ Fans…you have to agree that the matches in the first round so far and some of the matches were a total shock! There will more to come after these commercial messages…”[Fill in another commercial here] “ Hello again HWA fans…the first round for the National Championship is half over and much debate has already erupted amongst the ringside fans about who will or will not make it to the next round. Without further adieu, let’s return to ringside for the second half of the first round…”Johnny Valentine whomped Chris Candido (1)(w/ Sunny): Johnny Valentine was still upset about the way he was treated in the drawing of the tournament and once again his ire fueled the victory from his opponent (not to mention sneaking a smooch from Sunny)…oh yeah, a ATOMIC SKULLSMASHER also aided in the win! (½ *). George Hackenschmidt was victorious against Justin Credible: The match wasn’t really started before it came to an end as Justin Credible resorted to the use of the SINGAPORE CANE and David Manning had no other choice but to call for the bell to disqualify the hardcore combatant. (DUD). Frank Gotch(1) slapped around Buff Bagwell (3)(w/ Sherri Martel): The HWA’s number one draft pick was true to his word so far of making this promotion the number one promotion in the LWA territories. The heartland born wrestler easily disposed of ‘the stuff’ and made him submit with several rolling kneebars. (**). Justin Liger (2) upset Ivan Koloff: The Russian Bear was putting the beat down on Liger but continued to attack the masked legend with the chain despite David Manning’s warnings. David had no other choice but to call for the bell and award the match to Liger via. Disqualification. (*). “ That about does it for this episode of the Heartland Wrestling Alliance’s premier broadcast! Stay tuned next time for the conclusion of the National championship tournament as well as other preliminary bouts. This is Bill Mercer signing off…thank you and good night!”(Theme from “Six Million Dollar Man” and closing segment played on the stadium’s teletron)

Glad to see the launch of the HWA. It'll be interesting to see if Gotch lives up to the hype or if one of the other semi-finalists can pull off the upset. Maybe Hackenschmidt gets his revenge!

Event#2
(Theme from “Six Million Dollar Man” and opening segment played on the stadium’s teletron)
“Welcome back to the world famous Civic Auditorium in Omaha, Nebraska and folks if you thought last event was wild then just wait! This is the announcer for the HWA Bill Mercer and the Heartland Wrestling Alliance will crown the first ever National champion this evening. In addition to the National Championship tournament, the first round of the National Tag Team Championship Tournament.”
“Let’s go down to the ringside area and turn over the microphone to our announcer Marc Lowrance for the first match.”
National Championship Tournament: Second Round: Antonio Inoki (3) squeezed by Bobo Brazil (2): The opening match of the evening would surely become a classic as these two combatants took the match to the limit! However after a flying tackle by Inoki, the Japanese superstar used the ENZUIGIRI for the duke. (** ½ ).
Giant Baba (2) pinned Jim Londos (3): Another great match! Baba began the bout with a powerful assault but nearly was pinned after Lindos countered a NECKBREAKER DROP with a school boy roll up. Nonetheless, the Giant would prevail after a hard fought battle as a boot across Lindos’s face laid the Greek out for the count. (** ½).
National Championship Tag Team Tournament: First Round: Road Warriors (Hawk (0)/Animal (0)) brutalized Rikidozen (5) & Tiger Mask (0): The Road Warriors simply pushed around the duo of Rikidozen and Tiger Mask as the punished the International wrestlers from pillar to post! Animal used his finisher POWER SLAM and tagged out to execute the DOOMSDAY DEVICE with Hawk to pin Rikidozen for a second round berth. (** ½).
“I would not want to be on their bad side as the Road Warriors once again pulverize anyone that gets into the squared circle with these two Chicago natives. The first two matches of the semifinal round were outstanding and there is still more yet to come. Ladies and gentlemen, we’ll be back after these commercial messages…”
[Fill in your favorite beer commercial here]
Samoan Island (Alofa (0)/ Samu (0) ousted Team Xtreme (Danny Doring/ Justin credible (0)) (by DQ):The Xtreme team pushed around the team from Samoa but credible was caught using the SINGAPORE CANE by Danny Manning and was quickly disqualified. (Dud)
Johnny Valentine (3) won against George Hackenschmidt (3) (by DQ): Johnny Valentine continued his ranting about his supposed underrating in the tournament and these two had a surprisingly great bout! The Estonian Hammer and the cranky legend fought outside of the ring several times and Valentine would advance to the next round after Hackenschmidt pushed the referee off him after a Manning warned him to quit using the ring barrier to punish his opponent. Once again, Manning showed that if you don’t abide by the rules in his matches then the match is over and he disqualified the Estonian. (***)
Frank Gotch (0) grounded Jushin Liger (1): The LWA’s first draft pick continued to make good on his potential as these two superstars tangled. Once more, the combatants fought on the outside of the ring and Gotch did his homework as he kept the Junior Heavyweight grounded! The Iowa native nailed Liger with a powerbomb onto the ringside floor and ended the second round with the GOTCH TOEHOLD that had the masked wrestler tap out. (½*).
Vicious & Delicious (Buff Bagwell (1)/ Steve Canino (0) w/ Sherri Martel & Sunny cheated past The Vachons (Mad Dog (5)/ Butcher (0)): A match strewed with constant interference on behalf of the Vicious & Delicious team by both Sherri and Sunny! The Vachons put up a little fight but the youth of their opponents became too much for them to overcome and after a BUFF BLOCKBUSTER and a BLONDE BOMB, Mad Dog couldn’t continue the match and was given the three count. (** ½)
“ Fans…I must admit that the second round of the National tournament was something that television can’t do justice to. And, the first three bouts of the National tag Team tournament was one for the ages and something definitely needs to be done about those two women because the Vachons were robbed at their chance to become champs. As always, there will more to come after these commercial messages…”
[Fill in a Geiko commercial here]
“ We’re back HWA fans and the second round for the National Championship is over and the next round is about to begin. Without any more hesitation, let’s return to ringside for the fourth match in the National tag Team tournament and the third round match ups…”
Don Leo Jonathan (2).& Bob Orton Sr. (0) stunned Latino Connection (Mil Mascaras 2)/ Konnan (0)) (by count out): The Latino connection could not keep their opponent’s shoulders down for the count and about five minutes into the match a wild bout of fisticuffs erupted (once again) out on the arena floor! After receiving a back drop onto the concrete floor, Konnan wasn’t able to make it back into the squared circle to beat the ten count and the unlikely duo of Jonathan& Orton were going to the second round of the Tag tournament. (**)
National championship Tournament: Third Round: Antonio Inoki (4) squeezed by Giant Baba(1) (by count out): A much anticipated match between these two Asian superstars and it for the most part delivered! The momentum shifted on several occasions and the Giant Baba used a school boy roll up to counter Inoki’s OCTOPUS HOLD but failed to garner the three count. These two legends battled for nearly ten more minutes before Inoki landed a ENZUIGIRI that sent Baba over the top rope and to be counted out. (** ½).
Johnny Valentine (1) bloodied Frank Gotch (5): Wow! The LWA first pick had a few problems with the fed’s first fan viewed heel and these two traded blows for almost twenty minutes before Valentine blasted the Iowa native with the ATOMIC SKULLCRUSHER to advance to the National Championship finals. (***).
National Championship Tournament: Final Round: Johnny Valentine (4) downed Antonio Inoki (3): Valentine and Inoki wrestled in easily THE best match of the tournament! After several series of moves and counter moves, Valentine would once again use the ATOMIC SKULLCRUSHER to be crowned the HWA’s National Champion! (*** ½ ).
“That about does it for this episode of the Heartland Wrestling Alliance’s broadcast! Jion us next time for the conclusion of the National Tag Team championship tournament, comments from Johnny Valentine-the HWA’s representative in the LWA Roll Call of champions, and more in the ring action! . This is Bill Mercer signing off…thank you, good night, and Happy Holidays to all!”

[glow=red,2,300]Event#3[/glow]
( “Tom Sawyer” by Rush bellows from the stadium’s sound system and scenes from the National Championship Tournament flash rapidly from the teletron)
“Hello fans and welcome back to downtown Omaha, Nebraska’s Civic Auditorium! This is the announcer for the HWA Bill Mercer and I have to tell you that if you missed our last card than you missed a historic moment as Johnny Valentine worked his way through the preliminary rounds to defeat Antonio Inoki in the finals to become the first ever HWA champion! These two superstars will tangle in the National Championship rematch later in the evening. “Plus, tonight the National Tag Team Championships will be decided as the final four teams will duke it out to see who will have the titles strapped around their waists at the end of the night! Without hesitation, I send you to the squared circle and turn the play by play to Marc Lowrance…”
Jushin Liger outmaneuvered Tiger Mask(1): These two junior heavyweights put on a fast paced match with Jushin garnishing the pinfall after a BRAINBUSTER. ( ½ *)
Jim Londos (4) stunned Mil Mascaras (1): A wrestling clinic was displayed between these two legends! Mil Mascaras had almost complete control of this bout despite Londos countering several times. Unfortunately for Mascaras, the Latino superstar missed a frog splash and Londos used the opportunity for a school boy roll up for the duke. ( ** ½ )
Vachons quickly won against Team Xtreme (Justin Credible/Danny Doring) (by DQ): Pathetic! The Vachons controlled all but two seconds of this contest until Doring managed to tag out to Credible and the New York native was disqualified after the hardcore wrestler once again blasted the opponent (this time it was ‘Mad Dog’) with the SINGAPORE CANE (Dud).
“In my opinion, Credible really needs to quit using the bamboo cane if Team Xtreme wants to go anywhere in the Heartland Wrestling Alliance! We will talk to the newly crowned National Champion after these commercial messages…”
[Insert commercial here]
Scenes flash on the teletron of Johnny Valentine making his way through the National Championship Tournament until the last scene being that of Valentine using the ATOMIC SKULLCRUSHER on Antonio Inoki for the three count.
“You are gazing upon wrestling greatness ! For it is I, Johnny Valentine, that waded through the garbage that the HWA promoter Vince Russo tossed my way to attempt to keep me from winning what inherently belongs to me! He didn’t get the job done and no one will ever take this National title from around my waist. “Concerning the challenger later this evening, I beat him once and I’ll do it again because Inoki you have to learn the hard way that I am unbeatable! Remember ladies, you have never been wined and dined until you’ve been Johnny Valentine’d! Whoo!”
George Hackenschmidt (0) outclassed Konnan (1): After a lose to the current National champion on the last broadcast, George disposed of Konnan easily after five minutes with a RUSSIAN BEAR HUG! ( ½ *)
National Tag Team Championship Tournament: Second Round: Road Warriors (Hawk/Animal) (w/ Paul Ellering) thumped Samoan Island Tribe (Alofa/ Samu (2)): [/u]The fans had no doubt on who was going to win this match! The Road Warriors pulverized Samu and Alofa using their strength advantage to counter everything that the Somaon Island tribe could manage against them. The Warriors moved to the finals with a Shoulder Ram by Animal and the big guy tagged out to Hawk for the DOOMSDAY DEVICE (*).
Rikidozen busted Giant Baba: Holy cow! This match was literally TWO moves long as Baba started off with a snap mare that was countered by Rikidozen with a THUNDEROUS CHOPS finisher for the victory (dud).
National Tag Team Championship Tournament: Second Round: Vicious & Delicious (Buff Bagwell/ Chris Candido (2)) (w/ Sherri Martel & Sunny) cheated by Don Leo Jonathan (3)/Bob Orton Sr.: [/u]Jonathan and Orton held their own in this match but the two divas on the outside of the ring continued their distracting antics! After a MORMON SWING by Jonathan, Sherri distracted Danny Manning (the ref) and Sunny gave the Mormon low blow , Candido clamped on the BLONDE BOMB for the quartet to advance to the finals (** ½).
“There you have it fans! The HWA National Tag Team Championship finals are set with the Road Warriors facing off against Vicious & Delicious and everyone wonders what role the two divas will play in the Championship round. As always, there will be more to come after these commercial messages…”
[Insert commercial here]
Frank Gotch made Ivan Koloff submit: The LWA’s first overall pick began his climb back up the contention ladder to dethrone Valentine as the National champ and to fulfill his promise of representing the HWA in the LWA Territorial mega card in February! Gotch blasted the Russian bear with a running clothesline and used a mat based attack sequence that forced Koloff to tap out a GOTCH TOEHOLD (dud).
National Tag Team Championship Tournament: Final Round: Road Warriors (Hawk/Animal (7)) (w/ Paul Ellering) won against Vicious & Delicious (Buff Bagwell (2)/ Chris Candido) (w/ Sherri Martel & Sunny): [/u]The promoters are already scrambling for a rematch as these two teams left everything inside of the squared circle! Vicious & Delicious took turns double teaming Animal before Buff landed a BUFF BLOCKBUSTER that had Ellering distracting the referee to save his charges backside! Ellering’s distraction worked as Animal was able to tag out to Hawk who for several minutes of beating on Candido almost snagged the pinfall before Buff broke up the count with a pin save! Buff wouldn’t be pleased that he entered the ring as he encountered a shoulder block from Hawk and Buff really threw a fit after his partner was leveled with the DOOMSDAY DEVICE! The Road Warriors have become the first ever HWA National Tag Team champions!!
**National Championship Title Match** Johnny Valentine (2) retained against Antonio Inoki (6): [/u]The first match between these two was great but this one was fantastic! The two rivals were in the spotlight for nearly twenty minutes before Valentine gained complete control of the match (thanks to a sneaky chair shot by Valentine on Inoki’s back). The National champion would use this to his advantage and once again end the bout with the feared ATOMIC SKULLCRUSHER to retain the gold (****).
“ Definitely a historic card folks! However historic, everything must come to a close and that is all the time that we have for this evening! Join us next time as the newly crowned Tag champs will make a special announcement, and we’ll have more exciting action in the squared circle. This is Bill Mercer signing off…thank you and we’ll see you next time.”
