Gorilla Monsoon: Welcome everyone to the Empire Wrestling Federation, the premier organization in professional wrestling today. The EWF is one of 4 territories in the Legends Wrestling Alliance. I am Gorilla Monsoon. Let me introduce you to my broadcast colleague, Bobby “The Brain” Heenan.
Bobby Heenan: Thank you Gorilla. It’s great to finally be part of a wrestling organization that realizes true talent. Thank you to President Michael Todd for the offer to bring the Heenan Family operations to the greatest territory in the LWA.
GM: Last time many fans saw you, you were on the other coast. Are you saying that you couldn’t wait to get out of there?
BH: Are you kidding me? I couldn’t wait to get out of my contract with that humanoid commissioner. He just couldn’t comprehend the intellect that the Brain brings to a wrestling program. I’ll miss my house in Beverly Hills, but I already have an incredible place on the Upper Eastside of Manhattan. I’ll be just fine.
GM: I understand that beyond joining me in the booth, you will continue your managerial career here in the EWF.
BH: You better believe it Monsoon. My days of managing ham and eggers like that royal pain in the butt out West are over. The new and improved Heenan Family will rule over the EWF, and you’ll see them all tonight. I represent the greatest tag team in this federation or any other, Nick Bockwinkel and Ray Stevens. I handle the career of the man with the most impressive physique to ever grace a wrestling ring, “Ravishing” Rick Rude. To top it all off, I manage the most dominating force in the EWF, King Kong Bundy.
GM: It’s good to see that you don’t lack for confidence. Let’s go to ringside and check out young Wladek Kowalski taking on the exotic eccentric, Gorgeous George.
1. Wladek Kowalski DQ Gorgeous George (with Cherie Dupre)
GM: A contrast in styles between the young Polish immigrant and the crafty veteran. A great deal of back-and-forth with the power of Kowalski showcasing against the Gorgeous one’s agility. This was a great match until valet Cherie Duprie handed George a handful of “Georgey Pins”. The referee saw this and called for the bell.
2. Light Heavyweight Challenge: Pepper Gomez PIN Danny Hodge
GM: Gomez gained the fall with his fourth Mexican Leap of the match, earning a most impressive victory between these two world-class competitors.
3. Snuka PIN Yukon Eric
GM: The Savage Snuka destroyed Yukon Eric his devastating SUPERFLY finisher. An impressive finish to an impressive performance by Snuka!
BH: That guy scares even me, Gorilla! He’s out of control, a maniac!
4. King Kong Bundy (with Bobby Heenan) PIN George South
GM: My broadcast partner’s first foray to ringside was a successful one as King Kong Bundy dominated this match up and ended things with an AVALANCHE. Bundy made the cover but refused to get off his opponent until the referee counted to five.
5. Diamond Dallas Page PIN Rick Rude (with Bobby Heenan)
GM: The Heenan Family’s second match here in the EWF wasn’t quite as successful as the first. Rick Rude was in control of almost the entire match. Rude tried to soften DDP up for his patented Rude Awakening finisher by using a swinging neckbreaker. However, DDP countered the move with his DIAMOND CUTTER to put out the Ravashing One. Bobby Heenan was so surprised that he was literally left speechless!
6. Flying Redheads DQ Bockwinkel & Stevens
GM: The Flying Redheads got a disqualification victory in this match when the referee caught Ray Stevens choking Red Bastien with the tag string and then nailing him with a foreign object while Nick Bockwinkel was the legal man in the ring. Bobby Heenan and his charges were furious with the decision. Meanwhile, the Redheads received a rousing round of applause from the crowd.
EWF Heavyweight Championship Match
7. Buddy Rogers SUBMISSION "Mr X"
GM: Buddy Rogers has won gold all over the world, and was awarded the EWF Heavyweight Title after winning a star-studded international tournament in Rio de Janeiro. In his first defense of that title, the Nature Boy quickly disposed of the mysterious masked man with his FIGURE FOUR GRAPEVINE. I’m now rejoined by Bobby Heenan. Any final thoughts on Buddy Rogers title defense?
BH: I don’t care about that match. Ray Stevens was only trying to obey the referee’s instruction to hold onto the string until a legal tag was made….
GM: He was doing no such thing! Or do you think that Red Bastien wrapped the string around his own throat?
BH: He might have! These are world-class athletes in the ring. Why someone would try and deceive the referee is beyond me! I personally thought that Bastien just got tangled in the corner and that junior referee just got confused.
GM: And how do you explain the foreign object?
BH: You haven’t heard the last from us on this injustice! We’ll prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that this was an aberration.
GM: This, I have to see. Well, ladies and gentlemen, a happening has happened. The Empire Wrestling Federation is in business, and business is good. Wrestling fans, we want to thank you for watching. Until next time, I am Gorilla Monsoon and this is Bobby Heenan here for the Empire Wrestling Federation, saying so long from ringside.
