TOP ROPE WRESTLING 2005 REVIEW
The new promotion Top Rope Wrestling kicked off on September 3rd of 2005 with the Top Rope Extravaganza which took place on the 3rd and 4th. The war for the United States Heavyweight Title was on between Jimmy Snuka, The Destroyer, Curt Hennig, Gorgeous George and Diamond Dallas Page. Ivan Koloff won the Championship over an injured Destroyer, and Koloff would not lose the belt for the remainder of the year. One of the highlights of 2005 was that war for the United States Championship, but there was more...
Bobo Brazil and Ilio DiPaolo had a friendly battle for the World Heavyweight Championship, and in the end Bobo Brazil won the championship over Ilio. Nick Bockwinkel would have his hands on that World Title, when he and Mad Dog Vachon injured Bobo Brazil. The battle for that World Title would see Antonio Inoki win the championship from Bockwinkel, and at the end of this battle Ivan Koloff would be the World Champion exiting 2005.
Steve Corino and Brad Armstrong would battle for the Top Rope Television Championship, this was a battle that would see the formation of the Extreme Horsemen and the Stronghold. Steve Corino, Konnan, Justin Credible, Chris Candido and Buff Bagwell the Extreme Horsemen have started a war with Brad Armstrong, Bob Armstrong and Mil Mascaras. Konnan at the end of the year would be the Television Champion, and he has waiting in the arms several wrestlers that want a shot at that title... plus, the war between the Stronghold is far from over.
The World Tag Team and United States Tag Team Championships are being battled for by some of the best tag teams in the biz. The Fabulous Kangaroos turned on the fans and are the reigning World Tag Team Champions while true fan favorites the Destroyer and Rikidozan hold onto the United States Tag Team straps.
Other happenings in Top Rope Wrestling, we saw three shows debut... MEGA MONDAY, RINGSIDE and TOP ROPE SATURDAY. New factions have formed... Abdullah Farouk has brought together Harker Dirge, The Sheik and Killer Kowalski to cause havoc in the ring and outside of it. While Bobby Heenan's Family has split for the most part, Curt Hennig has joined up with his father, while Rick Rude has joined Sherri Martel. King Kong Bundy rejoined with Hawk and Animal in the original Legion of Doom, while the Masked Superstar went solo. Bobby Heenan now just manages Nick Bockwinkel and Harley Race.
The TRW only had four months worth of action in 2005, they will have a full year to deliver more Top Rope Wrestling Action!

The show kicked off with a highlight reel of the first 49 cards held, the crowd popped watching this footage. John Reagle walked out after the video package and told the crowd that they will be seeing a great event tonight and he also told the wrestlers backstage that he will be watching them and their actions, some wrestlers better watch their step or they will have to pay for their actions. Reagle told the crowd to enjoy the rest of the night...
{ United States Tag Team Title Match } Buddy Rogers ; Jimmy Snuka vs. The Destroyer ; Rikidozan (C)
This is what tag team wrestling is all about, these four men battled back and forth, at one point it look like Rogers and Snuka would win this match and the championship... but the DESTROYER delivered a Sensational Suplex which then led to the pinning of Jimmy Snuka.
Yukon Eric vs. Killer Kowalski w/Farouk
This was a fast match, Eric must have been under the weather from his yellowish tint to his skin color. Kowalski used a STOMACH CLAW for a submission victory. Kowalski tried to injure Eric, but Jim Duggan stormed the ring and sent Kowalski over the top rope landing badly on his knee, which in the end was injured.
NOTE : Later in the night, Kowalski laid out Duggan and then through Eric through a glass window which ripped off Eric's ear!
{ Top Rope Television Title Match - Steel Cage Match } Alofa vs. Konnan (C)
These two wrestlers went at one another liked mad men, the crowd was full of life during this match... it looked like Konnan had the upperhand, but Alofa drew from the crowd and he delivered a SAMOAN DROP and then escaped the Steel Cage and took the victory and the Top Rope Television Championship.
{ The HOT SEAT w/Bill Apter } GUEST : Iron Mike DiBiase - DiBiase spoke about him wanting a U.S. Title Shot and that him and Ted DiBiase will be teaming up very soon...
{ Ring Announcer Gary Michael Cappetta } Danny Hodge vs. Johnny Valentine
Valentine threatens Cappetta, but Hodge storms the ring and gets the upperhand, but this did not help him once Valentine delivered a ATOMIC SKULLCRUSHER for the victory.
NOTE : The broadcast crew was suprised that Johnny Valentine decided to wrestle this match since he would be in the Main Event in the Chase for the Gold Match.
Antonio Inoki vs Mil Mascaras
What a match, the crowed popped for these two wrestlers, in the end Inoki won the match with a ENZUIGIRI, but both men shook hands at the end and walked off toward the back together.
{ World Tag Team Title Match } Road Warriors w/Ellering vs. The Fabulous Kangaroos (C) w/Berry
This was a domination from the Kangaroos standpoint, the Road Warriors once again look horrible, and Heffernan pinned Animal after the Kangaroos delivered a Face-First Double Suplex.
*MAIN EVENT - { CHASE FOR THE GOLD } { WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE MATHC }
MATCH ONE - Bobo Brazil vs. Ivan Koloff (C)
Bobo Brazil wins his second championship with a COCO BUTT, but Ivan Koloff and Ray Steven injured Brazil when they piledrived him into the concrete floor.
NOTE : John Reagle walked out and told Ivan Koloff and Ray Stevens that this was their last warning, if they repeat their actions any time in the future they will be suspended.
MATCH TWO - Johnny Valentine vs. Bobo Brazil {inj} (C)
Knowing he was injured, Brazil took on Valentine... but he lost the match when Valentine delivered a ATOMIC SKULLCRUSHER for the victory.
MATCH THREE - Nick Bockwinkel vs. Johnny Valentine (C)
No Heenan, but this did not stop Bockwinkel from winning his second World Title when he delivered a FIGURE FOUR LEGLOCK to win via submission.
NOTE : Bockwinkel and Race attacked Valentine after the match and they through Johnny through two stacked tables, and then they used Steel Chairs on the fallen Valentine. Ring Officials camedown to stop Bockwinkel and Stevens... then John Reagle walked out and said thats it, Bockwinkel and Stevens your actions deserve a suspension, Bockwinkel you are also stripped of the TRW World Heavyweight Title! Bockwinkel was ticked and was about to attack Reagle when security stepped in, and Reagle told Bockwinkel that he will be suspended for 15 cards while Stevens will get 10 cards for his actions.
The SHOCKWAVE will be felt far beyond this pay-per-view, STAY TUNED . . .

PRESS CONFERENCE { 1 / 23 / 06 : 12:00 pm }
John Reagle walks to the podium and speaks to the media about the status of the TRW World Heavyweight Wrestling Championship which has been vacated.
JOHN REAGLE : I'm here to talk about the TRW World Heavyweight Championship, it will still remain vacated while I find the proper way to secure that this title will gain the respect that it has lost in the last few months. The action in the ring always has been top notch, but it's the actions outside the ring that worries me the most. I know that several members of the TRW Wrestling Commitee disagree with my methods, but I will stand fast and work hard on getting the right results for the World Title. So I will be focusing on that duty and will handoff all other duties to the other members of the wrestling commitee. So with that, I will get back to work on the World Title issue at hand, thank you for coming. The other commitee members spoke several minutes later and told the press that they will let Reagle make the ruling on the TRW World Heavyweight Title and that they will delve into the other issue's at hand.
BREAKING NEWS { 1 / 23 / 06 : 4:06 pm }
The press has learned that Bobby Heenan will step down at this time as a manager in Top Rope Wrestling for some time, but he said that he will return and make an impact both in and out of the ring. He also told John Reagle has won the battle but not the war. What does Heenan have up his sleave and what does his message to Reagle mean!?
