Hello, folks. I'm new here, and please feel free to slap me on the hand if I'm doing this wrong.
I have three feds going right now, all with original Filsinger cards and (mostly) bootlegs. I'd like to start by giving credit to all those who put these on the web, too numerous to list. I also give a big thanks to Tom Filsinger. Anyway, with credit where credit is due, here's a quick guide to my feds and their happenings.
The United States Professional Wrestling League
Headquarters: Los Angeles and Des Moines
Territory: Western US from Mississippi River to Pacific Ocean.
Commissioner: Cowboy Bill Watts
Recognized Champions: USPWL World: Red Bastien Intercontinental: The Rock United States: Sting Light Heavyweight: Frank Gotch Tag Team: the Rock' n' Roll Express
New Champ Red Bastien is being challenged right now by Sgt. Slaughter, who seems to have the backing of Commissioner Watts. Watts feels that Slaughter represents "real, bare knuckle rasslin' " that he favors over the "acrobats" he fears are taking over, like Bastein and his other pet peeves, the Rock' n' Roll Express. He also has taken a dislike to #2 contender and former champion Terry Funk, although the reasons are less than obvious to the casual fan. Funk, Bastein and the RRX (who have made noises to executives of bolting to one of the other feds) may have back up coming as rumors are circulating of a change in the management coming down from the LA offices...IC Champ the Rock, disposing of his last rival the Destroyer, is now dealing with US Champ Sting, who looks to move up the ladder in the USPWL....Lex Lugar and 'Tennessee Stud' Robert Fuller are feuding to be the top man if Sting does win the IC strap...The Horsemen (Flair, Arn Anderson and Tully Blanchard) have a mutual understanding with Lugar, and this threatens to bring the Von Erichs (Kevin, Kerry and David) into the IC/US frenzy as they have a grudge to settle with them...For the Tag straps, Southern Justice (Terry Gordy and Buddy Roberts) is in a brutal throwdown with the Moondogs over the top contenders' spot, while the Nasty Boys have drawn the ire of the Hollywood Blonds (Steve Austin and Brian Pillman)...the light heavyweights (a division disliked by Watts) are beginning to choose sides as Mr. Fuji has united Jushin Liger and Shinjiro Otani for a charge at the title held by Frank Gotch. Exotic Adrian Street is top contender but Fit Finlay is nipping at his heels and the threat of Fuji/Otani and Lyger looms over them all. The USPWL hosts a nationwide Monday TV program hosted by Fox personalities Chris Rose and Tom Arnold with Lee Marshall conducting interviews and runs accompaning Saturday house shows.
Next message: the ESW report.

I have broken down the background stories for my three feds into three messages for easier reading. So, now, on to the ESW
Eastern States Wrestling (ESW)
Headquarters: New York, NY
Territory: Eastern US from the Mississippi to the Atlantic seaboard
Gen. Mgr.: Vince McMahon
Titles recognized: ESW Championship: Big Van Vader ESW Tag Team Championship: Chris and John Tolos ESW Television Championship: Marcus Alexander Bagwell ESW Womens Championship: Manami Toyota North American Womens Championship: Mickie James
ESW evolved when promoters Jack Tunney and McMahon bought the rights to the USPWL Eastern States Championship and broke away...McMahon has now taken the on screen role of general manager with the retirement of Tunney...Champion Big Van Vader will face Ricky 'the Dragon' Steamboat for the title at the fed's next PPV in place of Lou Thesz, the man Vader beat for the belt, then injured in a pre-rematch attack with the help of his mentor Harley Race...Meanwhile, Vince has his hands full now that Magnificent Muraco has taken to personally--and physically--attacking McMahon and his son, Shane, for hampering his career. A recent clean loss to Triple H for the right to meet current TV champ Marcus Bagwell seems to prove this isn't the case, but Muraco isn't so quick to blame anyone but V-Mac...The tag team division is in chaos as Chris Tolos has been injured by Demolition members Ax and Smash. Chris and his brother, John, plan to put the belts up against Demolition at the PPV despite the performance of Bobby Heenan's team of King Kong Bundy and Big John Studd, but they recently were upset by Team Canada (Johnny Devine and Petey Williams) and must contend with Rick Steiner, who with his new manager, Woman, seeks revenge on the giants for injuring brother Scott...Speaking of Giants, there is Andre, now locked in a feud with Lord Alfred Hayes and his new associate, Giant Haystacks, fighting for "British national pride" against the Frenchman Andre...Bagwell goes into the PPV taking on the man he beat for the belt, Triple H, with the imposing presence of Sammartino in the background...The womens division has divided into two divisions, the 'world' division, now dominated by Japanese legend Manami Toyota, and the new 'north american' division, ruled by Mickie James. As Toyota and James are allies, there seems no hope of a unification unless their main foes, Chaparrita Asari and Molly Holly, knock one off and set up a belt v. belt matchup. There also is legendary veteran Judy Martin, the woman who 'invented' the North American title out of frustration from failing to take the women's title from Toyota...The ESW tv tapings occur on Tuesdays, hosted by Jim Ross and Mike Tenay, with Gene Okerlund the ESW's lead interviewer. The Saturday show is hosted by Scott Hudson and Joe Pedicino with Bonnie Blackstone conducting the interviews.
Soon, the 'outlaw' fed, the GWF

Finally, here's the background of the third fed in my world, the GWF
Global Wrestling Federation (no, not 'the' GWF, my GWF)
Headquarters: Memphis, TN
Territory: Texas, Tennessee and Florida (see below)
Commissioner: Eddie Marlin
Recognized champions GWF Champion: Johnny Valentine GWF Global Champion: Big Daddy GWF Womens Champion: Madusa Miceli GWF Tag Team Champion: The Road Warriors
GWF is a rival to the 'big two' USPWL and ESW. Currently they are a regional organization, based in the south in the old Dallas/Memphis/Tampa-St. Petersburg areas, but just announced that they will be conducting a world tour starting in the Buckland Centre, Portsmouth, Hampshire, UK at the end of the month, with stops scheduled for Germany, Japan and Australia before returning to Dallas...Johnny Valentine is the reigning GWF Champion, having lifted it from an injured Jerry Lynn (whom he injured), and now faces new top contender Nick Bockwinkle, who recently knocked off Lynn for the spot, at the Buckland Centre card...It's expected that Global Champion Big Daddy, a heel in the United States along with fellow British Invaders Lord Steven Regal and Bill Dundee, will be seen as a face in Portsmouth, and his top rival, 'King' Jerry Lawler will play the role of 'heel'...Mick McManus and Wayne Bridges have been signed by Global Wrestling to appear on the card, either as opponents or participants in a tournament (details have not been worked out yet), and Otto Wanz and Horst Hoffman have also been approached to appear on cards in Germany...Womens Champion Madusa Miceli is battling with Leilani Kai and her new manager, the Fabulous Moolah, for the women's title, while Miceli's ally Superstar Susan Sexton is having trouble with newcomer Beth Phoenix...the Road Warriors are dominating the GWF tag team world, having held off challenges from Rick Martel & Tony Garea and the New High Energy (Owen Hart & 2-Cold Scorpio), as those two teams are now battling for another shot at the champs...Then there's the new, as of yet unnamed, stable consisting of Earthquake, Typhoon and Abdullah the Butcher. These three are currently concentrating their ire on Meng, but could be trouble if they turned their considerable size and fury on the rest of the GWF...The national GWF show is on Fridays, usually eminating from Dallas' Sportatorium, Memphis' Mid South Coliseum and Tampa Stadium, hosted by Lance Russell and Dave Brown. Ken Resnick and Diamond Dallas Page, the hosts of GWF's initial national tv shows, have been retained to host the overseas shows. House shows are held at the above mentioned arenas and the St. Petersburg Armory.
Well, that's it. Look here for updates on all three feds in the near future.
Until then, when you're out on your bike tonight, remember to wear white.

Hello, everyone, it's Bockwinkle99 with an update on the happenings in my feds.
Let's go to the USPWL. In a brief statement issued from the LA offices, the Board of Directors has promised an exciting announcement for the last TV taping of the month, but wouldn't elaborate. Rumors are currently floating about that among the changes will be the dismissal of Commissioner 'Cowboy' Bill Watts, held responsible for changes in the on air product that has propelled the USPWL to last in interest behind both the ESW and the upstart GWF, but the Board will not elaborate beyond that they are becoming concerned with the level of DQ finishes, including a recent one between top tag team contenders the Nasty Boys and the Moondogs that has left a bad feeling among viewers, fans and crew...As for in the ring news, the biggest story is clearly the upset scored by Sting in taking the Intercontinental title from the Rock. Rock now has signed to face Terry Funk, who is now laying claim to the IC title as the only way to 'get noticed' by Watts...As a result of Sting's win, Watts has vacated the US title and ordered a tournament to fill the vacancy...Red Bastien is still holding off Sgt Slaughter, defeating him in their first (non-title) encounter, but Slaughter, needless to say, will not go away...Lex Luger has been sidelined with injuries, so he will not participate in the US title tourny...The Von Erichs also are decimated as the Horsemen have taken turns injuring the brothers, most recently Kevin...As stated earlier, the Nasty Boys, led by manager Jimmy Hart, are now feuding with the Moondogs with the ultimate prize being a chance to dethrone the Rock 'n' Roll Express, who still hold a tenuous grasp on the titles through the Moondogs penchant for getting disqualified...In another move with belt consequences, Watts has ordered a tag match pitting the top four contenders for Frank Gotch's Light Heavyweight title, so Fit Finlay, Exotic Adrian Street, Shinjiro Otani and Jushin Liger will pair off and "hook 'em up" with the man scoring the win earning the title chance. Pairings haven't been settled yet, but no one would put it past the devious one, Mr. Fuji, in having his men on opposite teams in order to double his chances of having a member of the Fuji "Dojo" dethrone Iowa's own...Hot Stuff Eddie Gilbert has acquired the services of Missy Hyatt as manager, but will this be enough to hold off the challenge of the Monster Abyss, who it's said is seeking revenge for a fireball to the face he suffered from Gilbert in a match earlier in the month.
Next message, the ESW Report...

Now for the news from the eastern US and the ESW...
Number one contender Ricky Steamboat recently escaped with a time limit draw against the Bruiser which left neither man satisfied. Both men want a rematch and, should Steamboat upset and dethrone Big Van Vader at the upcoming Wrestling Classic PPV, the Bruiser may get first dibs at the title...Vader, along with mentor Handsome Harley Race, needless to say, isn't worried about an upset or either Steamboat or Brusier...the Vader-Steamboat title mill might be overshadowed at the Classic, however, by the progressively more violent feud raging between the McMahon boys, Vince and Shane, and the Magnificent Muraco. Muraco scored a recent win on the latest edition of Saturday Supercade over Vince, enabling him to make the stipulations for their match at the PPV. Muraco has chosen a death match, with the added stip that the loser must leave the ESW...What will the fate of the league be if co-founder and current GM Vince McMahon must leave? Wait and see...Triple H scored a win on the same Supercade card against his Classic opponent, TV Champ Marcus Bagwell, and in response has 'guaran-damn-teed' that 'the Game' will be the champ after the PPV...Tag Champs the Tolos Brothers v. Demolition has been signed for the Classic...As a demonstration of their power aimed squarely at Andre the Giant, Giant Haystacks and Lord Alfred Hayes seriously injured debuting Sean (Val Venis)Morley after Haystacks scored the win...Womens champ Manami Toyota and North American champ Mickie James will take on Chaparrita Asari and Molly Holly in a tag match at the PPV...With an upset win over Asari, Magnificent Mimi has now moved into a contender's position to Toyota's world strap...
Next, the GWF report

From the south and, soon, the world, here's the GWF ticker...
The main offices are ecstatic over a recent poll that rates them second behind the ESW and ahead of the established USPWL in fan interest, hoping that they may catch the ESW after their Portsmouth, UK card... Nick Bockwinkle defeated GWF champion Johnny Valentine in a non-title match up at the Mid-South in Memphis. Post bell, Kevin Nash appeared and joined Nick in beating down the champ, apparently to send a message to Johnny's son, Greg. The Valentines will face Nash and Bockwinkle on the Portsmouth card in a tag match...Another special tag match in the UK will be the British Invasion of Lord Steven Regal and Bill Dundee against 'Mr. 1derful' Paul Orndorff and Nikita Koloff...Madusa Miceli's reign as GWF womens champion has ended thanks to the interference of the Fabulous Moolah, who helped Leilani Kai lift the belt off Madusa's waist. Miceli got a bit of revenge when, in a fury, she interrupted Lance Russel's interview of the new champion with a chair. Kai is now on the shelf and Miceli has been suspended by Commissioner Eddie Marlin for two weeks...The Road Warriors will face Tony Garea and Rick Martel in Portsmouth in a rematch...Meng has finally defeated Typhoon and now continues to move through the 'freaks of nature' by setting his sights on Earthquake.
Our next report will be from 'jolly old'. Good evening and we'll see you at the matches...

USPWL UPDATE
USPWL GOES HOLLYWOOD!
Cowboy Bill Watts has been dismissed as commissioner of the USPWL and replaced by...Rocky?
In a shocking announcement met with mixed response from the crowd, Sylvester Stallone appeared at the end of a recent card in Hollywood and announced that he is now a member of the new USPWL executive committee that has replaced Watts.
Stallone, the star of the profitable Rocky and Rambo franchises and the star of the lesser known wrestling film Paradise Alley, says he and the new committee will be bringing old time smash mouth wrestling back with a new age look and feel. At a press conference held after the card, Stallone wouldn't go into detail but promised that 'a lot of money, time and talent' will be going into the new USPWL that was 'frankly, lacking' in the Watts era USPWL.
While he wouldn't go into details, he did say that the rule banning off the rope moves instituted by Watts was 'history'. He also stressed that his role in the league was only as a temporary representative of the executive committee. 'Boxing promotion and wrestling promotion are two different animals', he said, 'To succeed, you need know how. I know boxing pretty good, but wrestling's not my area.'
No championships will be affected by this change in regimes, Stallone said.

ESW REPORT
The feud between TV champ Marcus A Bagwell and Triple H is getting hotter and spreading through the federation. For the last two weeks, Triple H, Shane McMahon and Killer Kowalski have all been attacked by masked men who appear to have a connection with Bagwell.
Two weeks ago, Triple H was found by league officials bloody and beaten in a locker room. Shane McMahon immediately suspected Bagwell, who denied it when confronted by 'Shane-o-mac'. After the exchange became heated and the men had to be separated, a match was signed.
The match was preceded early in the card by a sudden and shocking appearance by the masked men when they viciously assaulted Triple H's trainer and mentor, Killer Kowalski, during an interview on his upcoming match with Bobo Brazil. When McMahon and Bagwell did get in the ring, the masked men appeared again, earning a DQ for Bagwell and pursuit by Triple H.
Who are these men? No one knows for sure. Has Bagwell called on hired men to take out 'the Game'? Is one of the masked men Bobo Brazil working a distraction? Who's the real target--Triple H? McMahon? Kowalski? Could it be an attempt to discredit Bagwell?
More soon...

GWF UPDATE
The last card by the GWF before starting on their world tour was indeed a memorable one. Held at the Orange Bowl, it held a couple of twists that will bear directly on the Portsmouth card.
The feud between the Valentines, Nick Bockwinkle and Kevin Nash boiled over as they didn't wait for England. Nick and Kevin won the day over the injured GWF Champion Johnny and his son, Greg, so Nick demanded and got a match for the belt to replace the scheduled tag match.
The British Invasion interfered in a match involving Global Champ Big Daddy's scheduled foe, Jerry 'the King' Lawler, injuring Lawler with a cricket bat attack. Their plan may have back fired as Commissioner Eddie Marlin immediately replaced the King in the title match with Nikita Koloff. Paul Orndorff, who was scheduled to meet Lord Steven Regal and Superstar Bill Dundee in a tag match with Koloff, said that he'll find a replacement for Koloff.
Fabulous Moolah has challenged Madusa Miceli to get back at Miceli for injuring her new champion, Leilani Kai. Marlin has yet to rule on this match.
Until next time.
