Leg 1
Show A: Great action marred by bad finishes. The Midnight Express managed a win over The Dream Team with the use of ring ropes and Jim Cornette. Bob Orton got past Buff Bagwell with his feet on the ropes as well. The Killer Bees got a decisive punctuation on their war with Gorgeous George & Buddy Rose with a rematch win from Showdown at Shea Stadium, and the duo of Nick Bockwinkel & Harley Race manhandled Antonio Inoki & Giant Baba. And those were the remotely decisive finishes. Jimmy Valiant got a surprising DQ win over Koko B. Ware. Red Bastien and Chris Candido had a great back and forth match marred by Candido taking a chair to Bastien and getting disqualified. Dick Hutton's promising technical bout with George Hackenschmidt ended in a DQ win for Hutton. Ted DiBiase and Missing Link had a fantastic bout themselves, but Link was DQed, marring the finish. Justin Credible and Sandman scored shocking DQ wins over Bobo Brazil and Buddy Rogers, respectively. Perhaps the most telling aspect of Rogers' bout with Sandman was his insistence on trying to use the ropes for leverage. Is Rogers already reverting to old tricks?
Show B: Masked Superstar got DQed for ramming Duggan into a ringpost, and Nikolai Volkoff & The Iron Sheik lost out by DQ to The Road Warriors, but the show went up from there. Destroyer squashed Virgil, but King Kong Bundy scored a stunning upset over Mil Mascaras! He had hit the AVALANCHE and actually scored a three count, but Mascaras kicked out before the five...but a brutal power assault driven home by two more AVALANCHES put Mascaras down. Sabu scored a surprising upset himself, pinning Jimmy Snuka despite Snuka controlling most of the match! Anything can happen in the LWF!
Leg 2
Show A: The night began with Bob Orton beating Buff Bagwell and then Orton and Virgil attacking Bagwell. They went to work on Buff with a chair, placing his arm in a chair and crushing it with a brutal dive off the ropes by Orton! Giant Baba & Antonio Inoki got a DQ win over The Midnight Express. Red Bastien won his rematch with Chris Candido, hitting the ATOMIC DROP, and actually cracking Candido's tailbone! Tammy vowed revenge, even though Bastien did seem remorseful. Jim Duggan upended The Masked Superstar. Television Champion Ted DiBiase managed to defeat Bruiser Brody with the MILLION DOLLAR SLEEPER in another fantastic Television title bout. George Hackenschmidt dominated Dick Hutton in their rematch from last week. US Champion The Sheik got disqualified against Johnny Valentine, thus saving the belt. King Kong Bundy crushed top-ranked Jimmy Snuka, making him submit to a vicious bear hug. The Road Warriors' bout with Nikolai Volkoff & The Iron Sheik ended in another DQ, this time with the win going to Volkoff & Sheik. Don Leo Jonathan came one step closer to challenging for the World title when he pinned Killer Kowalski after Kowalski missed a turnbuckle charge.
Show B: Ox Baker dominated Butcher Vachon. Buddy Rogers did beat Sandman under No DQ conditions, as Bobo did Justin Credible. The Masked Superstar attacked The Destroyer during his bout with Buddy Rose, leading to a DQ loss for Rose and a two on one beatdown. The Valiants won a potential Match of the Year bout against Tag Team champions The Killer Bees, becoming four time tag team champs!
Leg 3
Show A: Nikolai Volkoff crushed Butcher Vachon in their one-on-one match with the BACKBREAKER DROP. The Dream Team battled Bob Orton & Virgil, but Orton and Virgil were disqualified when Virgil rolled Valentine up and was caught with his feet on the ropes. Koko B. Ware was given a huge opportunity: Defeat Johnny Valiant and get a title shot with the partner of his choice...but Johnny pinned Koko with the SPINNING NECKBREAKER. King Kong Bundy & Ox Baker beat Bruiser Brody & The Missing Link by DQ when Brody was disqualified for slamming Baker into the rails. Justin Credible (w/Tammy) scored a measure of revenge for Chris Candido by pinning Red Bastien with THAT'S INCREDIBLE. TV Champion Ted DiBiase battled rival Jim Duggan in a great match that went awry when The Missing Link charged DiBiase and accidentally headbutted Duggan instead, allowing DiBiase to use the MILLION DOLLAR SLEEPER. The Sandman was disqualified for using the singapore cane on Bobo Brazil. Giant Baba & Antonio Inoki defeated The Midnight Express when Eaton submitted to Inoki's OCTOPUS HOLD. Johnny Valentine came out to face The Sheik for the US Title, when Killer Kowalski attacked! Kowalski and Johnny Valentine brawled to the back and The Sheik was prepared to drive the fans up the wall by just praying in the ring when George Hackenschmidt made his way out! A great bout was on, but Frank Gotch, still injured, came out and kept Hackenschmidt from escaping a sadistic hammerlock, forcing him to submit to The Sheik! In the main event, Don Leo Jonathan secured a match with Nick Bockwinkel by defeating Harley Race with the MORMON SWING!
Show B: Johnny Valentine dominated Sabu! Killer Kowalski was disqualified for ramming Dick Hutton into the guardrails. Mad Dog Vachon returned from his injuries, only to lose via countout to The Iron Sheik. Frank Gotch was disqualified in his return bout, against Jimmy Valiant. The Masked Superstar, Gorgeous George & Buddy Rose defeated The Destroyer & The Killer Bees when Rose pinned Brunzell after a brainbuster while using his feet on the ropes for leverage.
Leg 4
Show A: Dick Hutton again scored a disqualification win over Killer Kowalski, and post-match Justin Credible attacked Hutton with a leather strap! Ox Baker battled Don Leo Jonathan in a big-man brawl and put Don Leo down with a neckbreaker! The Road Warriors devastated Nikolai Volkoff & The Iron Sheik in a Texas Death Match with the DOOMSDAY DEVICE on Volkoff for a Hawk pin! TV Champion Ted DiBiase battled The Missing Link in a title defense, and won by DQ when The Link smashed him with a chair shot! Harley Race spiked Giant Baba with the PILEDRIVER! The Valiants beat the Vachons in a non-title match in short order when Johnny Valiant scored the pin on Mad Dog Vachon after a kick to the groin! World Champion Nick Bockwinkel retained the title in a good bout with Johnny Valentine, scoring the win with the BOCKWINKEL SLEEPER.
Show B: The Masked Superstar put Red Bastien away with the COBRA HOLD. As Bastien was recovering, Justin Credible ran in and laid into Bastien with a leather strap! Bob Orton & Virgil beat The Dream Team by submission when Virgil put Beefcake out with the COBRA CLUTCH! Koko B. Ware stunned Justin Credible with the GHOSTBUSTER! Mil Mascaras beat Antonio Inoki via DQ when Inoki whipped Mascaras into the post. Bobo Brazil beat Sandman senseless in a Singapore Cane match, but finished him off with the grinding hammerlock.
