DWC Show #003
First Mariner Arena - Baltimore, Maryland
The show began with Zachary Carter in the ring. He said he had two things to address before the matches begin tonight.
First, was the tag team division, which is "currently in a state of disaray." Carter said this needs to end. Starting tonight, DWC will have various tag team matches to begin putting teams in a ranking system. And, Carter added, if other teams interfere in these matches, he will not hesitate to lay down suspensions.
The second item on Carter's plate was new championship belts. According to Carter, the council is still discussing a hardcore belt, however, another new belt has been sanctioned.
On the next show, a tournament will begin for the DWC Television Championship! Eight men will enter, and the winner will be crowned at DWC's next Super Card, Clash of the Champions!
And now....match #1.....was a tag team match.
The Greek Olympians (Proteus and Actagon) were no match tonight against The Eastern Dynasty. Mitsuko kept Proteus in the ring the whole time, and dominated. After wearing down Proteus, he tagged in
Ghengis Khan, who hit his Twin Thrust and scored the pin at 2:00
The second match was another tag match. In just about 3:00, Valentine Massacre took down The Valiant Brothers, who were not accompanied to the ring by Captain Lou Albano. Johnny Valentine hit Atomic
Skullcrusher on Johnny Valiant, but Valiant got his leg on the ropes. This really wasn't that good of an idea, as Valentine just picked him up, pulled him to the center of the ring, and hit the move again for the pin.
Next up was a singles match. Buddey Rogers against The King Harley Race. Harley Race won via pinfall with a swinging neckbreaker after totally DOMINATING Buddy Rogers at 4:00. This turned out to be a total squash match, with Rogers never successfully executing an offensive manuver. Twice Race tried to put the match away with an Indian Deathlock, but Rogers was able to get to the ropes both time.
However, at the 4:00 mark, Rogers was defeated with a swinging neckbreaker.
Then there was the quick DQ victory for Buddy Rose against Nick Bockwinkel. Bockwinkel was disqualified for shoving the referee after tossing Buddy Rose into the guardrail by the fans.
Security was on Bockwinkel almost instantly to prevent any more damage, as wrestling past the guardrails is illegal in the state of Maryland.
Then we had Bruno Sammartino defeat The Destroyer via pinfall at 3:24 in a rather uneventful match that Bruno dominated.
And now, the match everyone was waiting for!
Sir Ender vs Whiplash - The winner gets a United States Heavyweight Championship title shot against Jimmy Superfly Snuka
The match began with Sir Ender poking Whiplash in the eye. Sir Ender followed up with a punch to the head, but when he went for another punch, Whiplash blocked it. And from there, the match was over. Within moments, Sir Ender was screaming he quits to Whiplash's Thumb Screw. The match's official time was 1:00
Almost immediately, Whiplash got on the microphone, announcing that next week he will become the next US Heavyweight Champion when he defeats Jimmy Snuka!
This brought Commissioner Carter out, who corrected Whiplash. Carter announced that the match will occur, but not at the next show. Instead, it will be at the next Super Card - CLASH OF THE CHAMPIONS!
With that, Sir Ender was back! He went for the Royal Pain, but Whiplash easily dodged it. Sir Ender went sailing out of the ring to the arena floor.
The show ended with Sir Ender laid out, with a little boy pointing and laughing at him.
