Show #002
Cole Field House - College Park, Maryland
In the first match, DiBiase came out with Virgil, but then said that because of Virgil's "impressive" victory over Ursa Major last week, he has the night off. Instead, DiBiase would be teaming up with someone who knows all about money.....KRAKAN
DiBiase & Krakan defeated Meteor Shower by TKO at 1:12 when Astro Turk passed out in The Million Dollar Sleeper
Aftwards, Virgil handed over a wad of cash, which DiBiase shoved in the mouths of Bart and Turk. Krakan simply left the ringside area without celebrating.
In the second match of the night, Killer Kowalski made Red Bastien tap out to the Killer Claw Hold at 3:12.
Last week, after the Sabu/Sandman hardcore match, Ox Baker got into the ring, laying both men out. This week, Sabu wanted a match.
In a hardcore match that lasted nearly 5 and a half minutes, Ox Baker defeated Sabu with the Heart Punch. Sabu was injured for two shows due to the punch.
Still trying to encourage the fans to say yes to an official hardcore division in the DWC, The Sandman challenged Koko B Ware (who, otherwise, doesn't have a solid position in DWC yet) to a hardcore match. The Birdman accepted!
In 2:24, Sandman defeated Koko B Ware with a Singapore Cane shot in the center of the ring.
The next match featured a Big Man Triple Threat! King Kong Bundy, Giant Baba and Don Leo Jonathan all entered the re-inforced ring to do battle.
At the opening bell, all three men tore into each other. Baba was sent into the turnbuckles, but actually went over the top turnbuckle and smacked his forehead against the ring post!
Don Leo Jonathan then dominated King Kong Bundy and pinned him at 1:48 with a Mormon Swing. DLJ had attempted the move earlier in the match, but didn't get the full impact, but the second time, the Utah man nailed it.
We then had Mean Gene Okerlund in the ring, and he introduced the current United States Heavyweight Champion: Jimmy Superfly Snuka. Superfly and Okerlund talked about the history of the various versions of the US belt, and how DWC intends to bring it back to glory. Snuka was proud to be the first to wear this version, and intends to take on any and all who wish to challenge him for it. He promises to give any opponent, and the fans, the match of their lives.
Then...as very regal music played, Sir Ender came out to the ring! Sir Ender really got upset, because the fans were laughing at him, but he said that since Snuka was willing to take on anyone, then he wishes to challenge him to a duel. Snuka smirked and was able to respond when....
Whiplash came to the ring! The Frenchman declared he was the rightful #1 Contender, and therefore is not asking...but DEMANDING a title match!
Of course, this brought out Commissioner Carter. Carter, being a fair man, said that anyone can earn themselves a US title shot, whether they're #1 or the bottom of the bottom. Carter also said that he didn't believe it was in the interest of fair play to have Snuka defend the belt without sufficent time to prepare himself.
Therefore, Carter said, the next show will feature a match between Whiplash and Sir Ender! The winner will face The Superfly in two weeks for the US Title!
Sir Ender and Snuka were happy with the decision, but Whiplash was UPSET! Sir Ender grabbed Whiplash by the shoulder (not sure why?) and was then leveled by a straight punch to the forehead!
Whiplash then stared down Snuka, before leaving the ring.
Once that was cleared up, it was main event time!
A fourway US Tag Team match between The Road Warriors (Champs), The Cowboys (Hutton and Orton), Midnight Express and Killer Bees.
The match was an all out brawl from the start! It was obvious that the official had no real control, but the fans were loving it, so he let things go. None of the teams really ever gained any advantage of anyone else. There were so many blind tags, tags to non-teammates, non-tag double teams, it was nearly impossible to keep up.
In fact, the official decided to get out of the ring! He was overheard saying that as long as no weapons or other people get involved, he'll only worry about pinfalls and submission holds!
Well, others did get involved. In what seemed like an all out rush.....Valentine Massacre, The Valiant Brothers, The Olympians and Eastern Dynasty all charged into the ring.
What was originally a wild brawl became an EXTREMELY wild brawl!
In the end, somehow The Road Warriors came out on top....to the detriment of Jim Cornette, who found himself the victim of a well placed Doomsday Device!
And the show ended with Hawk and Animal standing among the ruins hoisting the US Tag Team belts in the air!
