BUILD UP TO GALACTICADE XV--DECEMBER 2110
As it has each year since 2096, GWF action for 2110 culminated with the annual Galacticade celebration. Galacticade was originally created by Commander Sam and is held in Los Angeles, California on the planet Earth. The two-day celebration features the achievement awards banquet as well as the final supercard of the year.
As usually happens at the end of the year, the weeks leading up to Galacticade were filled with significant incidents and announcements. The following stories offer a synopsis of this year’s happenings:
MANDRILL FIRES SENTRY IN BRUTAL ATTACK An unexpected series of events led to a violent break between Mandrill and his bodyguard Sentry at the Morningstar Temple of Venus on December 8.
Mandrill fought Vengeance on the card and defeated the slumping gladiator leader in less than five minutes with a “Colonizer Claw Slam.” After the bell, Vengeance’s bodyguard Brute jumped into the ring and attacked Mandrill. Sentry attempted to come to the aid of his leader, but he was tossed aside and knocked out by the massive Aethran. Brute and Vengeance then pounded Mandrill and Sentry for over three minutes before leaving them lying in the ring.
When Mandrill regained his senses, he picked up the attack on the still-prone Sentry himself. After repeatedly piledriving his long-time ally, Mandrill called for a microphone.
“You have to be the most useless bodyguard I’ve ever seen,” the Prime Colonizer sneered at his victim. “You let the Aethrans beat me down tonight. And don’t think that I’ve forgotten that you cost me the heavyweight title against Pegasus a few months ago. I’m sick of your incompetence. You’re out. Get out of the GWF, get out of wrestling, and most of all get out of my sight. Crawl back to Scorpi or wherever you want to go. Next time I run into you, I’ll make this look like a picnic.”
Sentry refused to comment on the incident after the card. He disappeared later in the evening, apparently deciding to take Mandrill’s advice.
GLADIATORS STIR UP NEW ENEMIES Malice and Overkill may have ignited a new feud by ambushing Desolation Factor at the Morningstar Arena of Venus on December 8.
Desolation Factor was signed to meet GWF Tag Team Champions Titanattack in non-title match, but Commissioner Morpheus added an important stipulation to the contest: if the gigantic team from Dimension X won the match, they would face Titanattack for the titles a the year-ending Galacicade Supercard; if Desolation Factor lost, the Malice and Overkill would get the title shot.
The non-title match was a terrific battle, lasting for fifteen minutes of back to back action. Both teams managed a few pin attempts, but neither was able to put the other away. Finally, just past the sixteen minute mark, Ursa Major went down to a “Racked and Ruined.” However, as Ruin went for the cover, Malice appeared at ringside and distracted the referee. While Rack went after Malice to drive him away, Overkill slipped in from behind and blasted Ruin with a chair. To make certain that the job was finished, Overkill then power bombed his dazed victim. As Malice finally backed away and Overkill disappeared into the crowd, Ursa Major recovered enough to hi the “Titan Flyer” and score the win.
After the match, Rack and Ruin were enraged. “This ain’t the end of it,” Rack fumed. “That should be out title shot. Malice and Overkill had no business out there. They better be looking over their shoulders, ‘cause we’re not gonna take this lying down.”
YEAR-END ACHIEVEMENT AWARDS
Wrestler of the Year: Pegasus Even though he missed the final third of 2110 with an injury, Pegasus wins this award for the second straight year. He held the Galaxian Heavyweight Title from August 2109 until he was forced to abandon it in late September 2110, never losing it in the ring. His record for the year was 28-13.
Tag Team of the Year: TitanAttack The first Titan team to win this award since Titan Fury in 2100, Ursa Major and Scion Nexus stunned the federation by winning the tag belts in August and defending them successfully thirteen times so far while running up an outstanding 40-15 record. Also held the interplanetary tag belts earlier in the year.
Top Newcomer: Corporal Aegis An excellent first year, holding his own against all opposition and compiling a 30-26 record.
Hall of Fame Inductees: Alpha Force and Chaos
SPIKE MAKES DRAMATIC RETURN
On December 21, the morning of the Galacticade supercard, an unexpected press conference was called by Spike, who has not been seen in the GWF for several weeks and was not scheduled to wrestle on the supercard. The gladiator legend invited all of his fellow Aethrans to join him on stage.
“I wanted to make this announcement publicly,” Spike began. "I just got back from Aethra, where I’ve been doing some investigating. I hired some detectives who have been working for me for months, and we came up with what I needed to know. I’m here to tell you today that the person responsible for Massacre’s murder is Vengeance!”
While the press core broke out into a buzz of whispers, the other Aethrans on stage said nothing. Vengeance glowered at Spike with hatred on his face, while Thunder, Overkill, Malice, and Brute simply looked away.
“What’s the matter with you?” Spike asked angrily. “I just told you that Vengeance murdered one of our own.”
Slowly Brute raised his eyes to Spike’s face. “And you got proof?” he asked.
“Enough to convince me. No doubt.”
“And what does the high command say?”
Spike glared. “They’re not doing anything. They say I don’t have enough evidence.”
“Then you don’t,” replied Brute. “Besides, Vengeance has been with us all year. He couldn’t do it.”
“He didn’t do it himself,” Spike spat back. “He hired someone.”
“Who?”
Angrily, Spike replied, “I’m not sure of that. But I know he did it.”
Suddenly Vengeance let out a sarcastic laugh. “You’ve got nothing,” he spat. “You’ve always hated me, but this time you’re going too far. You’re accusing me without evidence. I should tear you apart.”
“We may get to that,” Spike snapped. ‘But what about the rest of you? Are you going to keep backing him up?”
Slowly Brute stepped forward toward Spike. “Let it go, man,” he said. “You got no proof. If the high command says he didn’t do it, he didn’t. That’s who we answer to. Just drop it now.”
Spike shook his head angrily. “No way,” he said. “I see how things are here. But I’m dropping nothing. I’ll get the proof I need, and in the meantime I’ll never work with him again.”
With a snarl, Spike stalked offstage. Vengeance stared after him angrily, and the other gladiators looked slightly confused. The press conference ended on that note, leaving all of the assembled press wondering if another gladiator civil war could be on the way.

GALACTICADE XV: THE CARD
The Draconian Sheik over Wraith Time: 5:06 An excellent opening match. Good back and forth action, with the Sheik using his backbreaker to get the win.
The Clones over Disorder X Time: 5:50 Defender of the Realm pinned Grunge after Mace walked out on the match and left his partner to fight alone. Grunge stayed alive for three minutes on his own.
Tirion Triple Threat Match: Enigma pinned Skinhead in a match that also included Prodigy Time: 6:45
The Ninja Assassins over Transformer Time: 2:39 Nth Degree went down to a “Double Edged Sword”
Galaxian Women's Federation Title Match: Anaxis won by disqualification over GWWF Champion Hunger Time: 3:33 Hunger was disqualified for using the "Abdominal Hunger," thus retaining her title once again.
Circinus Cell Match: Splatter Hammered Vyper Time: 3:52
Falls Count Anywhere Match: Blazing Skull over Blade Time: 3:08 Blazing Skull was in control all the way, pinning Blade on the arena floor after ramming him into a Hologram Video Screen
Six-Man Tag Match: Painmaster and Rebel Empire over Corporal Aegis and the SWAT Team in a six-man tag match Time: 2:13 A mercifully short match. Warfare never even tagged in.
Cruiserweight Title Match: Tortured Soul (c) over Rising Sun Time: 3:46 The unlikely reign of Tortured Soul continues as he makes Rising Sun submit to a "Rotting Claw." The champion has now defended successfully against Prodigy, Blade, and Rising Sun.
Turnbuckle Shock Match: Vengeance over Paragon Time: 2:56 Vengeance nearly blinded the big man, using his eye cleaver six times before finally scoring the pin.
Cygnus Strikeforce over Twin Blood Time: 1:21 In a major upset, U. S. Traitor pinned Sleeze with a “Turncoat Flyer."
Total Anarchy Match: Anarchy over Code Enforcer Manslaughter Time: 3:00 Not much of a contest.
Castor Chain Match for Special Matches Title: Wolf over Dark Justice (c) Time: 2:05 Wolf came out on fire and controlled the match from the beginning, finally using a “Savage Face Claw” to take the special matches title from Dark Justice
Ruins of Antillia Match: Mayhem over Mike Fortune Time: 1:11 The Aethran wildman blasted Fortune with a "Leap o Doom" before the match could really even get started.
Interplanetary Tag Team Championship Match: Sam’s Commandos (c) over Desolation Factor Time: 6:02 (Note: Sam's Commandos [Captain Dalcost and the Candian Bomber] are my own creations.) Best comeback of the evening came from Sam’s Commandos. Desolation Factor dominated the contest and had both of the champions battered and bloodied. The titles seemed sure to change hands, but somehow Captain Dalcost managed to gain the advantage on the floor and landed the “Imperial Tribute” on Ruin to score a stunning win.
Interplanetary Title Match: Terminus (c) over Archon Time: 2:42
Shandor Street Fight: Code Enforcer Euritar over Thunder Time: 40 seconds This street fight never left the ring. Unlucky night for Thunder.
Scorpi King of the Ring Match: Genocide over Mandrill in a Scorpi King of the Ring Match Time: 3:35 The Scorpi King of the Ring Match was a true massacre. Mandrill was hammered from the opening bell and never mustered an offense. After Genocide had the prime colonizer battered enough to beat him, he delivered an extra “Corpus Genocide” for good measure. Mandrill was carried from the ring.
GWF Tag Team Title Match: TitanAttack (c) over the Gladiators Time: 1:29 The Gladiators had a brief advantage, but Ursa Major pinned Overkill with a “Titan Victory Roll.”
Galaxian Heavyweight Title Match: Max Shield (c) vs. Bloodline with Massif as referee.
The Galaxian Heavyweight Title Match was a great battle, with the advantage going back and forth numerous times for five minutes. Max Shield hit his “Maximum Impact” finisher three times, while Bloodline managed the “Cetus Masterlock” four times but also missed twice with the “Big Bang.” Special referee Massif attempted to keep the action in the ring, repeatedly stopping Shield from chasing the challenger outside. Finally, just before the five minute mark, Shield became frustrated and pushed Massif out of the way as he followed Bloodline to the floor. When Shield put his hands on the big referee, Massif called for the bell and awarded the contest to Bloodline by disqualification. Both Shield and Bloodline were livid: Shield at losing the match, Bloodline at losing his shot at the title. Time: 4:43
After matters in the ring had calmed down, Max Shield acknowledged that Massif had made the correct call. “I lost my temper and pushed a referee,” Shield stated. “I deserved the disqualification. But I am sorry that the match ended that way. I think I had Bloodline beat, and I’ll be happy to get back into the ring with him again when the new year starts.”

GALAXY CUP TOURNAMENTS 2111
The twenty-fifth annual Galaxy Cup Tournaments took place from January 21-24, 2111 at the Deimos Intergalactic Arena of Mars. The year-opening event spans two days for the singles tournament and one for the tag team tournament with a day off between. All matches after the first two rounds of each tournament are fought under no disqualification rules. Galaxy Cup winners are granted title shots at the Galaxian heavyweight and GWF tag team belts at Galactic War, the GWF’s first regular supercard of the year.
Sixty-nine wrestlers took part in the singles tournament. Results were as follows:
Galaxy Cup Singles Tournament
Qualifying Round Highlights: Ventross, Rankor, and Ovetime all made successful debuts. Rouser was eliminated by Tocsin.
Round One Highlights: As usual, round one contained numerous upsets, but this year saw perhaps the most stunning ever as Max Shield became the first reigning Galaxian Heavyweight Champion ever to lose in round one when he was pinned by Hydrax. It was a great round for the Ninja Assassins as Daemon also upset Interplanetary Champion Terminus. Other major upsets included Nth Degree over Rising Sun Vendetta over Dark Justice. Best matches of round one were Painmaster's win over Warfare and Corporal Aegis' defeat of a surprisingly competitive Sleeze. Overtime also looked very impressive in his loss to Mandrill.
Round Two Highlights: Nth Degree and Daemon continued their upset streaks by defeating Prodigy and Nefarus, respectively, Defending Galaxy Cup Singles Champion Rack continued his amazing success at the annual tournament by stunning Genocide. Best match of round two was a terrific battle between Archon and Malice in which Archon finally came out the winner.
Round Three: In perhaps the best match of the tournament, Rack finally overcame Vengeance after an incredible battle in which the big alien was nearly blinded by the eye cleaver. Although he won the match, Rack suffered injuries that would hinder him for the remainder of the Galaxy Cup.
In other round three action, Thunder eliminated Skinhead, Euritar topped Mandrill, Wolf put away Nth Degree, Pegasus hammered Dreggs, Corporal Aegis knocked out Archon, Mayhem slipped past Daemon in a tough match, and Painmaster hammered the Draconian Sheik.
Quarter-Finals: Euritar over Thunder Time: 1:20 The now unmasked Euritar scored a quick win with a Heads Will Roll.
Wolf over Rack Time: 3:55 Wolf finally eliminated the powerful defending Galaxy Cup winner with a Savage Face Claw after a tough match.
Pegasus over Corporal Aegis Time: 5:40 Another good contest, but Pegasus, now calling himself "the Great One. won it with a Project Pegasus.
Painmaster over Mayhem Time: 2:04 The always tough Painmaster wore down the Aethran wildman quickly and pinned him with a guillotine leg drop.
Semi-Finals: Wolf defeated Euritar. Time: 6:22 In a rematch of the 2109 Galaxy Cup Final, Wolf got his revenge. After a terrific back-and-forth contest, the Animan superstar caught Euritar in a Savage Face Claw and forced him to submit, thus earning his just his third trip ever to the Galaxy Cup Finals.
Pegasus defeated Painmaster Time: 1:16 This one took little time, as Painmaster made an early mistake and Pegasus pinned him after rolling through a deathjump. Pegasus thus earned his third trip to the Galaxy Cup Finals, his only victory having come in 2108 over Mandrill.
Galaxy Cup Singles Tournament Final: Wolf defeated Pegasus Time: 1:06 Pegasus never landed an offensive move as Wolf dominated from the opening bell, quickly catching his victim in the Savage Face Claw. Wolf wins the Galaxy Cup Tournament for the first time in his incredible career after losing in the finals in 2099 and 2109.

The Galaxy Cup Tag Team Tournament took place on January 24, 2111. Twenty teams participated, with the top twelve receiving byes in round one.
Round One: The surprise of the first round was the reunion of the Watchmen, Painmaster and Tocsin, but they lost to Splatter and Trench when Splatter knocked out Tocsin with Arsenal. Best match of the first round was a great contest pitting Blazing Skull and Anarchy against Vengeance and Thunder. In other matches, Blade and the rookie Overtime downed Dark Justice and Mike Fortune and The Ravagers made an impressive debut in pounding Animan Invasion.
Round Two: In another surprise reunion, Superiority Complex reformed but lost to Malice and Overkill. Blazing Skull and Anarchy won another tough match, this time against Desolation Factor, though Rack was clearly affected by the injury he had suffered in the singles tournament. In other matches, TitanAttack beat Splatter and Trench, Rebel Empire slapped down the Clones, Blade and Overtime upset Sam’s Commandos, Disorder X tripped up the Ninja Assassins, the Ravagers battered Cygnus Strikeforce, and Twin Blood put away Transformer.
Quarter-finals: TitanAttack defeated Rebel Empire Time: 6:52 An excellent match that ended when Ursa Major pinned Nefarus with a vertical suplex.
Blazing Skull and Anarchy defeated Malice and Overkill Time: 7:28 The surprise team of the tournament pulled off another upset when Anarchy pinned Malice with a Crucifix Drop after a terrific back and forth battle.
Disorder X defeated Blade and Overtime Time: 3:25 Luck finally ran out for the impromptu Titan team as Grunge knocked out Overtime with a Guitar Shot.
The Ravagers defeated Twin Blood Time: 3:10 In a stunning upset, Twin Blood beat down the rookies and had Vendross apparently beaten when the big newcomer responded with a Severed Ties to pin Dreggs.
Semi—Finals: Blazing Skull and Anarchy defeated TitanAttack Time: 7:35 In yet another huge upset, the Brymstone team shocked the GWF Tag Team Champions. This one was a real war, with the advantage shifting several time and all four wrestlers battered when Anarchy pinned Scion Nexus with a Crucifix Drop.
The Ravagers defeated Disorder X Time: 12:17 In the best match of the tournament, all four wrestlers were bloodied and battered but refused to give in. The advantage shifted repeatedly and the match came down to a mistake, with the impressive rookie team finally claiming the win when Rankor pinned Mace after a missed deathjump.
Tag Team Tournament Final: Blazing Skull and Anarchy defeated the Ravagers Time: 1:43 After their battle in the semi-finals with Disorder X, the rookies finally ran out of gas. Blazing Skull pinned Ventross with a Death by Fire, giving the Brymstone team its first Galaxy Cup win ever as well as more victories in one tournament than they had in all of 2110.

GALAXY CUP 2111 As they have every year since 2087, the annual Galaxy Cup festivities opened the year 2111 for the GWF. Most of the federation's teams hold press conferences in the days prior to the tournaments in order to announce their plans for the year. Below are highlights from this year's team press conferences, which began in the Deimos Media Center on January 19 with an address by Commissioner Morpheus.
THANTOS STARTS WITH BIG ANNOUNCEMENT
The first team press conference of 2111 was called by Team Thantos. Thantos himself entered first, followed by Bloodline, Terminus, Rack, and Ruin.
“Alright, Morpheus says that what happened at Galacticade is in the past,” the manager began. “But not for me, and not for Bloodline. We want that rematch, and we want it as a no-DQ match. That way some idiot like Massif can’t take it away from us.
“But that’s not the big news,” Thantos smiled. “You see here the finest team in the federation. Desolation Factor grows more dominant every year, Terminus is the interplanetary champion, and Bloodline would be the heavyweight champion if Massif hadn't robbed him. But you may notice that Prodigy isn't here. His performance at the end of last year was so pathetic—losing twice to a walking corpse—that I don’t think he has what it takes anymore. So he’s gone, and good luck to him in finding another team.
Thantos smiled more broadly. “But we have a replacement for him the final piece to the greatest team in the GWF. He got sick of playing the good guy, so he has taken off his mask and joined us. I present the newest member of Team Thantos: Euritar!”
The former Code Enforcer, showing his face for this first time in the GWF, walked out and shook hands with his news teammates. Then he took the microphone.
“As Thantos said, I’m done with the Code Enforcer business. I was sick of taking a backseat to Manslaughter and of playing by Sam’s rules. From now on I’m going first class. Look at this team. No one is going to stop us. Just give us al the belts and the War Games rings now and save some time.”
NEW MEMBER FOR THE TITANS
Lord Nexus led Ursa Major, Scion Nexus, Rising Sun, and Blade onstage for the Fighting Titan Press Conference. The manager stood at the podium to speak first. “It’s going to be tough to follow Team Thantos’ act, but I’ll give it my best,” Nexus joked. “The Fighting Titans are looking forward to a great year. We have the tag team of the year for 2110, TitanAttack. We have a refocused Rising Sun, one of the top stars in the federation. And now we have two new members.
“First, as you can see, Blade has chosen to join us full-time. His mother Lorelai, has given her blessing to this arrangement, though she will be fighting her own battles elsewhere. Blade was an excellent addition to our team for last year’s War Games, and we welcome him back.
“Our final member is a newcomer to the GWF, but he is someone I have known for years. As you will all remember, in 2093 Quasar brought his considerable athletic abilities from gravity ball to the wrestling ring and made a great impact. I am proud and happy to say that his son is now ready to make a similar transition. He has been a major star in gravity ball throughout his schooling, but he is here with us now. I present to you the son of Quasar: Overtime!”
A tall, dark-skinned young man walked out onto the stage. He was taller and more powerfully built than any of the other Titans, but he moved with the same grace that had characterized his father.
“We understand that Guile has made some changes to his team,” Lord Nexus added. “They will be out first targets this year. You are looking at the best Titan team ever, and we will back down from no one this year.”
MANDRILL’S PLANS GO AWRY
The Ramparts were followed on the stage by the Colonizers of Scorpi. Mandrill entered first, followed by Wraith, Painmaster, Nefarus, and Vendetta.
“We are the most powerful force in this federation,” Mandrill stated. “We need to make no additions. Bringing in a couple of inexperienced aliens won’t save Shield and Aegis from us.
“But we lost our bodyguard last year when I fired Sentry,” the Colonizer leader continued. “So we need a replacement. I am therefore happy to announce our official bodyguard for this year will be . . . Painmaster!”
Painmaster looked stunned at the declaration. “Hold on,” he interrupted. “When was this decided? I didn’t agree to this. I’m a wrestler.”
“Silence!” Mandrill roared. “I need you more as a bodyguard now. The matter is settled.”
“But I had a much better year than Wraith last year,” Painmaster protested. “I'm a former GWF champion. I’m not ready to stop wrestling yet.”
The Prime Colonizer stepped forward menacingly. “Do you dare to challenge me?” he barked.
“Damn right,” Painmaster retorted. “Or better yet, I dare to tell you I’m through. You haven’t respected me for years, and I’ve served you loyally. If this is the thanks I get, I’m done.”
“You will do as you are told!” Mandrill roared. “Or you will be beaten into submission!”
At a motion from their leader, Nefarus and Vendetta grabbed Painmaster’s arms and pinned them to his sides. Before the Colonizers could to any damage, however, several shots rang out in the media center. One by one Painmaster’s assailants crumpled to the floor. The assembled press turned to see Sentry standing in the doorway, his stun weapon in hand.
“I suggest you leave now,” Sentry snapped at Painmaster. Needing no further encouragement, Painmaster loped off the stage and into the wings, while Sentry disappeared out the doorway. The Colonizers slowly recovered and regained their feet. The angry Mandrill howled and stalked off the stage, his plans foiled and his ego clearly bruised.
BIG SURPRISE FOR THE GLADIATORS
Entering to the blaring Aethran War Anthem, the gladiators were all smiles as they assembled on the stage. Vengeance stood before Brute, Thunder, Overkill, and Malice as smugly as if he had won the heavyweight championship.
“We have two announcements today,” Vengeance declared. “First, a lost son has come home to us. Welcome back to the gladiator team the hardcore legend Mayhem!”
Mayhem stepped onto the stage, howling in delight, and took his place with his teammates.
“Mayhem has learned from his mistakes,” Vengeance stated. “Krakan betrayed him, and now he sees how wrong he was to leave our team in the first place. But we will deal with Krakan. His treachery will not pass unnoticed.
“Our other announcement in perhaps even greater. I expect this to be my final year in the GWF. I am a finalist for the position of Minister of War on Aethra!”
Suddenly a familiar voice interrupted Vengeance from offstage. “It’ll be your last year, alright. I'm gonna send you back to Aethra in a box.”
Spike stepped out onto the stage, his face set in a grin. “Thought you were rid of me, murderer?" He smirked. “Not hardly. And while I don’t like fighting other Aethrans, I’ll go through your friends if I have to.”
Vengeance laughed. “Alone? You don’t have a chance . . . ”
The gladiator leader’s statement was cut off by an ear-piercing howl from offstage. Out of the wings walked Wolf, accompanied by Amazonia, Dreggs, and Sleeze.
“He ain’t alone,” Wolf snapped. “He’s got us. Nothing I like better than beating on scum like Vengeance, so I called up my old friend Dreggs to help. And his brother is from Maxus too, so Sleeze had no problem joining us.”
“You’ll regret this, animal,” Vengeance snarled. “We’ll destroy you.”
The insults continued for several minutes, with the Aethrans finally leaving the stage. However, as Wolf’s group prepared to depart, Johnny Rocket walked out of the wings, followed by Enigma, Paragon, and Vyper.
“What is this?” Rocket asked Dreggs. “You’re deserting the Rocket Men? After all we’ve done together?”
“Rocket, we got no problem with you,” Dreggs replied. “But this is something we need to do. If you want to help, you’re welcome. Against the gladiators, we’ll take all the help we can get. But if not, then we part as friends. Your choice.”
“Help?” Rocket asked in amazement. “Manage this team? Manage Wolf? Spike on the Rocket Men? Of course . . . ”
“Hold up,” Wolf interrupted. “You don’t manage me, and we ain’t the Rocket Men. If Dreggs and Sleeze want you, fine. Amazonia manages me and Spike. We all work together in our own way.”
Rocket smiled. “I can live with that.”
Now Enigma interrupted. “Well, I can’t. I have no reason to fight the Aethrans. If you’re getting involved in this, I’m out.”
Rocket turned to Paragon. “What about you?” he asked.
“I agree with Enigma. You do what you have to do. I’ll find something better.” With that, Paragon and Enigma stalked off the stage.
Rocket nodded. “And you, Vyper?”
A smile spread slowly across Vyper’s face. “You think I’d miss this? This is the better than fighting those freaks from Brymstone last year. In the middle of the action, on the toughest team in the federation? Yeah, I’m in.”
Spike nodded. “Good enough. For the moment, we’re going to call ourselves W. A. R., since me, Wolf, and Dreggs have been a part of W. A. R, in the past. But it don’t matter what we call ourselves. We got the team to take care of Vengeance now. This is going to be fun."
NEW ENEMIES FOR BRYMSTONE BURNING
The Brymstone team arrived on stage with smug smiles on their faces. Maleph spoke for the group, with Blazing Skull, Anarchy, and Tortured Soul standing behind him.
“So Lorelai has given up her hopeless vendetta against us, it seems,” Maleph said. “Blade is now with the Titans, and we've heard nothing from his mother. They have finally understood that they cannot defeat us.”
“Think again, you winged freak,” exclaimed Lorelai as she walked out onto the stage. “I just decided to let Blade move on with his career. I haven’t given up on anything.”
Maleph and his men laughed at Lorelai’s determination. “And what are you going to do, fight us yourself?” Blazing Skull cracked. “You don’t have a team.”
“She has a team,” Archon replied as he joined his manager on stage. Behind Archon came Painmaster and Sentry. “I’ve agreed to stay with her for one more year. And we’ve also talked the Watchmen into joining us, as long as we help them against the Colonizers too. I learned enough about Painmaster in our battles last year to know that he’s someone I want on my team. And his partner is going back to the name he entered the GWF under, Tocsin. We’ll take whatever you want to dish out.”
For the first time in the 2111 press conferences, the combatants on stage could not restrain themselves from attacking. An ugly brawl broke out, lasting for several minutes before security cleared the area. Clearly the feud between Brymstone Burning and Lorelai’s team, which she later stated was to be called “Crossfire’s Revenge,” will be as intense as ever this year.

GALACTIC WAR 2111 The first regular supercard of the GWF year is Galactic War, which has been held annually since 2090, first at the Alpha Centauri Colonnade and since 2100 at Jupiter’s huge Io Coliseum. This year’s event took place before a crowd of 103, 645, a good turnout but considerably below the Coliseum’s capacity.
Each year the winners of the Galaxy Cup singles and tag team tournaments are granted automatic title shots in the main events at Galactic War. This year singles tournament winner Wolf challenged his former teammate and Galaxian Heavyweight Champion Max Shield, while tag team tournament winners Blazing Skull and Anarchy went up against GWF Tag Team Champions Titan Attack.
Galactic War: The Card
Lance At-Las over the Draconian Sheik Time: 3:25 Warm-up match which Lance won with a Nomad Knee Drop
Blade over Warfare Time: 0:55 Quick win for Blade as he caught Warfare off guard with a spinning switchblade
Desolation Factor over Disorder X by DQ Time: 3:50 Grunge was DQ'd when he hit Rack with his guitar
Leather Strap Match: Mike Fortune over Vyper Time: 11:55 This was the most brutal match of the night. Fortune was in control almost from the beginning, but Vyper, though he appeared to be nearly senseless for much of the second half of the match, refused to accept defeat and repeatedly broke Fortune's progress. The contest continued for nearly twelve amazingly bloody minutes until Johnny Rocket came to the ring and threw in the towel for Vyper. Vyper is expected to miss nearly a month with his injuries.
Cosmic Cage Match: Wraith over Painmaster Time: 1:55 A big surprise here as Wraith catches Painmaster with a Phantom Jackhammer.
Cygnus Strikeforce over the Ninja Assassins Time: 1:57 Maelstrom pinned Hydrax with a spinebuster
GWWF Championship--No DQ Match: Hunger (c) over Anaxis Time: 2:43 Hunger took advantage of the no disqualification stipulation to beat Anaxis with the Abdominal Hunger and retain her title.
Scorpi King of the Ring Match: Paragon over Pegasus Time: 14:08 Pegasus appeared to have the match won near the ten minute mark, but he could not get Paragon out of the ring, and the Big Man made a huge comeback for the win.
The Ravagers over Rebel Empire with Massif as the referee Time: 6:43 In the Ravagers' first major test since their great showing at Galaxy Cup, Vendross pinned Nefarus with a spear off the ropes in a good match.
Cruiserweight Title Match: Euritar over Tortured Soul (c) Time: 3:25 Euritar becomes the cruiserweight champion for the third time by pinning Tortured Soul with flying body press after a Heads Will Roll
Prodigy over Rising Sun Time: 3:34 Prodigy wins this matchup of top cruiserweights in a contest that featured an amazing number of missed high risk moves.
Falls Count Anywhere Match: Dark Justice over Archon Time: 1:48 This match barely left the ring as Dark Justice got a quick win.
Titan Hardcore Tag Match: Twin Blood over Transformer Time: 2:13 Transformer, which had beaten Twin Blood in two previous recent matches, had control briefly, but Nth Degree made an error when trying to put Sleeze through a table and went down to the Twice Bitten
Lepus Stun Rod Match: Thunder over Bloodline Time: 2:18 Surprisingly easy win for Thunder as he scores the win with The Tempest.
Barbed Wire Cage Match: Spike over Mayhem Time: 5:05 A very brutal match in which both men were injured, but Spike scored the win with a Megadestroyer.
Interplanetary Tag Team Title Match Sam’s Commandos (c) over Malice and Overkill by disqualification Time: 10:57 Not surprisingly considering the recent hostilities between the Gladiators and Team Thantos, Desolation Factor got involved in the interplanetary tag team title contest. Just minutes into the match, the big men from Dimension X knocked out the referee and attacked the Gladiators. Massif took over as the referee, but Sam’s Commandos were unable to score the pin. The match continued for over ten minutes, with all four men being battered in some excellent action. Finally Brute, the Gladiators’ bodyguard, became frustrated and pushed Massif while trying to interfere, leading to a disqualification.
Interplanetary Championship Match: Terminus (c) over Corporal Aegis Time: 7:15 In perhaps the best match on the card, Terminus survived the Corporal Punishment four times and came back from near defeat to pin Aegis with a Hammerlock Slam.
Ruins of Antilia Match: Code Enforcer Manslaughter over Vengeance Time: 7:53 This was a very bloody and exciting match, with repeated interference by Enigma on behalf of Manslaughter and by Thunder on behalf of Vengeance. Manslaughter finally won it with a Code Crowbar.
Shandor Street Fight: Mandrill downed Genocide Time: 3:26 Mandrill got revenge for his brutal loss at Galacticade in December by pinning Genocide with a Colonizer Claw Slam.
Tag Team Title Match: TitanAttack (c) over Blazing Skull and Anarchy Time: 3:11 Ursa Major pinned Anarchy with a Titan Victory Roll as TitanAttack continued its impressive run as GWF tag champs.
Galaxian Heavyweight Championship Match: Max Shield (c) over Wolf Time: 4:39 A good match in which Wolf started well, but Shield hit him with a full-force Omicron Force to hold on to the Galaxian Title.
After the card, Wolf expressed both respect for Max Shield and dissatisfaction with his loss. “He got me, no doubt,” Wolf said. “I ain’t gonna argue or make excuses. I got respect for Shield. He was always a good teammate, and he’s a good champion. But I still want that belt he’s got. This was one match. Give him my congratulations, but tell him we ain’t done yet, either.”

GWF Update 2111: Genocide takes Galaxian Title
MACE WALKS OUT ON GRUNGE AGAIN As he did at the Galacticade supercard in December, Mace walked on on Grunge in mid-match at the Titania Tower on February 16.
Disorder X was fighting the new tag team of the Ravagers, and the rookies were again making a fine showing. Mace became frustrated with Grunge after a miscommunication on a double team move and simply left his partner in the ring. The Ravagers pinned Grunge two minutes later.
After the card, Grunge was lividly angry. “I don’t know what that musclebound moron was thinking,” he said, “but that’s twice he’s abandoned me. I won’t stand it a third time. He better have an explanation, and he better not do it again. A solo career is starting to sound better all the time to me.”
NINJA ASSASSINS TAKE IP TAG BELTS The Ninja Assassins became interplanetary tag team champions for the seventh time by defeating Sam’s Commandos at the Cassini Auditorium of Mars on March 1.
The Ninjas were able to dominate the match from the outset. The Canadian Bomber tagged in for only a brief minute as the challengers managed to keep Captain Dalcost isolated in the ring. After giving the Captain a brutal beating, the Ninjas knocked him out with a “Double Edged Sword” to claim the win.
The Commandos’ impressive title reign lasted for over seven months and included twelve successful title defenses.
GENOCIDE TOPS SHIELD FOR GALAXIAN TITLE Genocide won his first major singles title in the GWF by defeating Max Shield for the Galaxian Heavyweight Championship at the Altair Crystal Palace on March 6.
The contest between the two wrestlers had been planned for some time. However, injuries to both competitors, bans arranged by UFSP President Cordanus, and other mandated challenges had delayed their meeting for well over a month.
When the match finally happened, it was mercifully brief for Shield. The champion, who has been struggling since the beginning of 2111, never got his feet under him as Genocide roared out of the corner to begin the match and flattened his victim with a furious pounding assault. Moments later a “Corpus Genocide” knocked Shield completely out, allowing Genocide to claim the belt.
“Just a bad day,” was the way Shield explained the loss after the card. “I’ve beaten him before, and I can do it again. He knows it and I know it. I’ve been a little off lately, but I’ll get it back, and I’ll get the belt back too.”
Genocide had a different view. “I finally got a chance to squash that whimp Shield,” he boasted. “I deserve to be the champion. If nobody stacks the odds against me or dqs me, there ain’t no one here that can stand up to me. Expect to see me with this belt for a long time.”

COSMIC MAYHEM SUPERCARD 2111 Cosmic Mayhem is the third oldest of the GWF supercards. The event began in 2092 and takes place annually at the huge Polaris Interstellar Stadium. Cosmic Mayhem 2110 was held on April 22 with over 95,000 fans in attendance, a great crowd but down significantly from previous years.
The main event for this year’s supercard was scheduled to be a Galaxian Heavyweight Title Match between champion Genocide and the challenger Bloodline. In other matches, Thunder challenged Terminus for the interplanetary title, TitanAttack put up the tag team belts against Malice and Overkill, Wolf agreed to defend the special matches title against Mace, Max Shield and Mandrill agreed to a Four Weapons of Destruction Match, and Pegasus challenged Manslaughter to a Scorpi King of the Ring Match.
Cosmic Mayhem 2111: The Card
Overtime over Wraith with “The Clincher." Time: 3:34 The son of Quasar made his supercard debut in impressive fashion with a win.
Skinhead over Blade with the “Brass Knucks." Time: 2:06 Skinhead used a distraction by Reynard B. Guile to take control of the match.
Twin Blood over Cygnus Strikeforce Time: 2:24 The slumping twins got a win when Maelstrom went down to the “Twice Bitten."
Lepus Stun Rod Match: Warfare over Corporal Aegis Time: 1:37 Warfare pounded down Aegis before the stun rod light could even come on.
Cosmic Cage Match: Vyper over Paragon Time: 5:43 Tough match with a good performance from both men before Vyper hit the "Vyper Sideshow."
Titan Hardcore Tag Match: Blazing Skull and Anarchy over the Watchmen Time: 4:02 Anarchy pinned Tocsin to get the win, but the Watchmen and their manager Lorelai got the last laugh when Anarchy was injured in a brawl after the bell. The Brymstone star is expected to miss three weeks.
Castor Chain Match: Dark Justice over Archon Time: 4:03 A bloody match finally won by Dark Justice with a "Shock Probation."
Barbed Wire Cage Match: Mayhem over Mike Fortune Time: 3:16 Krakan's Deadly Militia continues to hunt Mayhem, but this time the Aethran wildman was too strong for Fortune.
Special Matches Championship/ Dog Collar Chain Match: Wolf (c) over Mace Time: 0:52 Mace had beaten Wolf in a non-title match, but this time the champion took less than a minute to use the "Savage Face Claw" for the win.
Rebel Empire over the Ravagers with Massif as the referee Time: 2:48 Nefarus pinned Ventross with a “Scissordriver."
Cruiserweight Championship: Euritar (c) over Enigma Time: 1:12 Euritar has been in a slump, but this time he got a quick win with the "Heads Will Roll."
Falls Count Anywhere Match: Rising Sun over Vengeance Time: 2:11 A short but wild match that went all over the building before Rising Sun used a power bomb in the locker room floor to get the pin.
Scorpi King of the Ring Match: Code Enforcer Manslaughter over Pegasus Time: 8:16 Both men were badly beaten, but Pegasus took an incredible pounding and may miss three weeks of action.
Desolation Factor over Sam’s Commandos Time: 2:01 Captain Dalcost went down to the “Racked and Ruined."
Interplanetary Title Match: Thunder over Terminus (c) Time: 7:34 Thunder won his first major singles title by defeating Terminus with a Gladiator Pildedriver. The match was a great contest, with the challenger in control much of the way. Terminus gave a terrific effort but fought a very cautious match, and in the end the red-hot Thunder was unstoppable.
Four Weapons of Destruction Match: Mandrill over Max Shield Time: 4:54 Terrrible beating for Shield
GWF Tag Team Championship: TitanAttack (c) over Malice and Overkill by DQ Time: 3:38 The Gladiators started a brawl that got them disqualified after Scion Nexus appeared to have Overkill pinned.
Galaxian Heavyweight Title Match: Genocide (c) and Bloodline fought to a No Contest Time: 4:52 A great card ended in disappointment when Bloodline was robbed of his opportunity to claim the Galaxian Heavyweight title. The challenger dominated the match and had Genocide in the "Cetus Masterlock" when Transformer jumped into the ring and interfered. Members of Team Thantos came to Bloodline’s defense, and a major brawl erupted. The referee was forced to throw out the match completely, thus allowing Genocide to keep the title. Doomsayer offered no immediate explanation for the actions of his tag team.

GWF WAR GAMES 2111
TEAMS ANNOUNCE ROSTERS AT WAR GAMES PRESS CONFERENCE The GWF held its annual War Games Press Conference on May 3, 2111 in the Deimos Intergalactic Arena Media Center. Long-time GWF commentator Thranduil Glorfin served as master of ceremonies. Seated beside Thranduil on the Media Center stage were GWF Commissioner Morpheus and Head Referee Massif. Also appearing on stage were team representatives Commander Sam, Johnny Rocket, Max Shield, Lord Nexus, Lorelei, Nefarus, Vengeance, Krakan, Maleph, Thantos, Doomsayer, and Reynard B. Guile.
Thranduil Glorfin: Good afternoon everyone. Welcome to our annual War Games Press Conference, and thank you for joining us as we kick off the 2111 War Games. Before we announce the team rosters, Commissioner Morpheus will review the rules of the competition.
Morpheus: Thank you, Thranduil, and I want to extend my welcome to everyone as well. The scoring system will be the same as always: one point for any win by pinfall or submission, one point for a win of any kind over a designated feud opponent, two additional points for winning or for any defense of the Galaxian Heavyweight Championship or the GWF tag team titles—whether by victory or by disqualification or countout, as long as the champion keeps the title—, one additional point for winning or a defense of any other title, and one extra point for winning one of our three most dangerous matches: the torture chamber, barbed wire cage, or four weapons of destruction.
Again this year we are forced to deviate from our usual form of deciding the competition. In the past, we set a given point total—usually two hundred—and the first team to reach that total was the winner. However, because of the interference of UFSP President Cordanus and his propensity for canceling our events and banning wrestlers, we have no idea what the point totals might look like. Therefore, as we did last year, we will follow the USWF practice of designating a date for the end of the Games. That date will be November 6. On that evening we have a card scheduled at the Andromeda Nebula Pavilion, and whichever team is in first place at the end of that card will be the winner.
Thranduil Glorfin: Thank you, commissioner. Now we will allow the team representatives here on the stage to introduce their rosters to begin the Games this year. Each team may be comprised of four to six members. The order of presentation was drawn at random. Lord Nexus, you drew the first spot.
Nexus: The Fighting Titan roster of Rising Sun, Blade, and GWF Tag Team Champions TitanAttack is as ready for the War Games as it has ever been. Overtime has been excellent so far in his rookie year as well. And, by agreement with Commander Sam and the FWF, Lance At-Las is returning to the Titans to round out our roster.
Krakan: You took that has-been At-Las back? Why do you want Sam’s rejects?
Morpheus: You’re starting early this year, Krakan. Knock it off, or I’ll have Massif quiet you down.
Johnny Rocket: Chaos once again. Now when I was running these things . . .
Morpheus: Rocket, leave it alone. Just announce your team.
Rocket: I’m here to speak for W. A. R. No surprises for us. Wolf, Spike, Vyper, and Twin Blood. What more could we need?
Krakan: A gag for you, maybe?
Thranduil Glorfin: Rare that I agree with Krakan, but . . . anyway, Thantos, you’re up.
Thantos: Our roster is set as well. Bloodline, Euritar, Terminus, and Desolation Factor will dominate. As for what more a bunch of animals like W. A. R. could need . . .
Krakan: A flea collar for Wolf?
Morpheus: Last warning, Krakan. I think it’s your turn, so get to it.
Krakan: Fine. Our singles lineup is obvious: Mike Fortune, Dark Justice, and Warfare. And as we did last year, we have invited Cygnus Strikeforce, managed by Mangus, to join us. The Deadly Militia will defend our title and crush you all again.
Max Shield: Without Genocide and Mayhem this year, Krakan, you’re lost already. But I’m the next speaker, and I’m pleased to say that, in addition to myself, Corporal Aegis, and the Ravagers, the Ramparts have reached an agreement for Lorelai’s tag team of Painmaster and Tocsin to join us.
Krakan: I wondered what the broad was doing here.
Morpheus: That’s it. You were warned. Massif, show him out.
(At this point, Massif walked over to Krakan and lifted him off the ground. As the Deadly Militia manager shouted obscenities, the huge referee carried him forcibly off the stage.)
Thranduil Glorfin: Now where were we? Nefarus, you were next.
Nefarus: Obviously Shield and Lorelai got wind of our plans. The Colonizers are pleased to add Blazing Skull and Anarchy to our lineup, joining Mandrill, Wraith, Vendetta, and me.
Thranduil Glorfin: (after a pause) Ah, an announcement without any rude comments. Now we’re getting somewhere.
Rocket: Don’t congratulate yourself too much. I always kept things under control without the muscle you have to use.
Morpheus; Rocket, I’m getting sick of you too. Unless you want to join Krakan, shut up.
Commander Sam: I guess I’m next. As Nexus said, Lance At-Las is joining the Titans. Manslaughter, Enigma, Captain Dalcost, and the Canadian Bomber are still with us. And, as he did for last year’s War Games, Archon has agreed to join us. We are considering making him a permanent member of the FDF.
Thantos: Sure. It worked so well last year for you . . . as you lost the Games.
Thranduil Glorfin: Let’s keep it moving. Vengeance?
Vengeance: The Gladiators are the most powerful force in the GWF. With me, Mayhem, Thunder, Malice, and Overkill, we cannot be stopped. Aethrans are superior athletes and superior physical specimens, and we . . .
Rocket: Commissioner, how about telling him to shut up before he rambles on all day? At least I have something intelligent to say.
Morpheus: That’s a matter for debate. But yes, Vengeance has had his say. Who’s next?
Reynard B. Guile: I am. And my team is finally going to get the payback I deserve. In addition to Pegasus, Prodigy, Skinhead, and the Ninja Assassins, we have now added Paragon to our roster.
Commander Sam: Really? And what does Pegasus think of that?
Guile: Pegasus wants to win. That’s all that matters.
Thranduil Glorfin: Interesting. Doomsayer, you were the last entry. We did not even think you would have a team this year. You’re the last speaker.
Doomsayer: Yes, it took me a little time to put our team together. Of course, our tag team is Transformer. The Terrorists have also agreed to join us, bringing us the Draconian Sheik and Trench.
Thranduil Glorfin: Not Splatter? I thought he was with the Terrorists too.
Doomsayer: What Splatter does is his business, not my problem. He is not on our team. Instead, I have the big surprise of this year. After my men helped him keep his title against Bloodline at Cosmic Mayhem, Galaxian Heavyweight Champion Genocide was convinced to join us as well.
Thranduil Glorfin: Ah, so that was your reason for interfering in that match.
Thantos: You’ll regret it. Getting Genocide for the War Games won’t be worth it by the time we’re done with you.
Vengeance: Better worry about the Gladiators instead, Thantos. We still have some things to settle with you.
Rocket: And control slips through Glorfin’s fingers again.
Morpheus: I’ve heard enough from all of you. Thranduil, wrap it up.
Thranduil Glorfin: The Games will begin with tournaments to crown the new War Games singles and tag team champions at Ganymede Stadium on May 15 and the Oberon Civic Center on May 17. We’ll see you all there. Good luck to everyone.
MANDRILL HIRES A NEW BODYGUARD Shortly after the Cosmic Mayhem supercard, Mandrill announced that he had reached an agreement with a new bodyguard for the Colonizers.
“I’ve hired this new guy, Rouser,” the Prime Colonizer declared. “Seems like he’s got some gripe with the Ramparts. I don’t care what it is, but we need somebody to watch our backs. Rouser ain’t much, but he's something, so we’ll take him.”
Later, Rouser explained his decision to join Mandrill. “I’ve been asking over and over to join the Ramparts,” he said. “I’m from Centra, after all. But Aegis says they don’t have room for me, so I found someone to help show them how wrong they are for not wanting me. The Colonizers will dominate the ROC, and I’ll show Aegis how valuable I can be. He’ll be sorry he didn’t take me when he had the chance.”
CYGNUS STRIKEFORCE WINS GOLD FOR FIRST TIME Cygnus Strikeforce captured its first championship in the GWF by defeating the Ninja Assassins for the interplanetary tag titles at the Ceres Amphitheater on May 6.
The contest was a great match, lasting for nearly nine minutes and including great back-and-forth action. All four wrestlers were battered, and both teams had to make several saves to avoid losses. Finally Hydrax was caught with his partner knocked to the floor and fell to a “Cygnus Strikeforce.”
The win gave Maelstrom his first title since coming to the GWF. U. S. Traitor became an interplanetary tag team champion for the third time, the first two reigns having come as a member of the 31st Airborne with the Canadian Bomber. Ironically, his very first interplanetary tag team title win also came at the hands of the Ninja Assassins, then known as the Demons of Hydra—eleven years earlier, in 2100.
