Delirious rules... why?
The last DVD released "Battle of the Icons" included a fantastic 6-Man tag match between Delirious, SHINGO, and Davey Richards vs. Austin Aries, Roderick Strong, and Jack Evans. Well as some of you know Delirious doesn't really talk, he spouts nonsense that sounds like "Babababababa..." Well Delirious tags in, grabs Jack Evans and goes "BababaUMAGA" and Samoan Spikes Evans in the throat! HAHA
Ring of Honor owns.

Delirious is very funny and is a very talented wrestler but comedy wrestlers only go so far for me. I find it really funny when he throws out a bunch of gibberish and then all of a sudden throws in a word or two of English. I could never pull that off. It is so natural for him.

Is it funny because it's just cool or is it funny because he is making fun of Umaga. Because if he's making fun of Umaga it makes no sense.

Delirious is my favourite indy wrestler. The guy is not only great at comedy but he's been in some good serious matches against guys like Chris Hero and Bryan Danielson. I think that his gimmick would go over with the WWE crowd.

I saw Delirious live in Dayton and he pulled a similar gag. His opponent went for the full nelson and he slipped away, shouting
BLAH BLAH BAH BAH NO MASTER LOCK !!!!
Freakin' hilarious!

I don't see how an indy card undercarder making fun of Main Event pro wres is really that funny. If these guys ever want to make it in the business they can't rely on mocking a promotion who could sqush them like a bug to get over.
I mean Delerios making fun of Umaga is like Droz making fun of Carl Lewis. C'mon.

He wasn't making fun of Umaga. He's supposed to be kind of insane and sometimes emulates other wrestlers (even the ones he's facing) moves. Think a more high-brow Eugene. Your hero's honor remains intact.
Yeah I think he would fit in with the WWE really well. He's extremely likeable and I think he'd be a fantastic face in the WWE. He's also muscular (hey hey Vince!) and can put on good serious or comedy matches. Good observation, I've never thought of him as WWE material before.

That's fine but all I'm saying is that emulating guys in the WWE is not much different than what VKM was doing and everyone thought that was stupid so...

I don't think it's necessarily a bad thing. The Eugene thing could have been done much better but they flushed it down the toilet. If someone on the Indies is doing it better, more power to them.

It's very different. VKM and TNA were talking trash about the WWE and its wrestlers and this isn't the case at all here.

That's fine but all I'm saying is that emulating guys in the WWE is not much different than what VKM was doing and everyone thought that was stupid so... The thing is Delirious doesn't always emulate other wrestlers. He might do it for a funny spot once in a while but he has his own gimmick and moveset. So the instance of Delirious doing the Umaga Spike was just a one-off spot. I'm a big Delirious fan and a lot of his matches I've seen do not have him using other wrestlers' moves. Although there was that one time when Delirious took part against an ECW guy (Danny Doring I think), and ran out of the building. Suddenly, JBL's music hits and Delirious comes down wearing a cowboy hat and riding one of those toy horse stick things.

I think Eugene could have been awesome if they treated him seriously, instead of as a comedy character.. I've always thoguht they missed the boat with him.
