I think that Adam Pearce could be a big star someday. He comes to the ring in a Ric Flair/Greg Valentine/Paul Orndorff type robe. He wears the single strap singlet and cheats like nobody's business. Another one I like alot is Jay Lethal. He has a lot of skill and is a protege of Samoa Joe. TNA just brought in Hernandez. This guy has some serious size and has quite a few years of experience now. I believe he was trained by Shawn Michaels and Rudy Boy Gonzalez in TX. If Teddy Hart didn't have such an attitude problem he would be in TNA or WWE right now. He has loads of talent and charisma but he has a worse attitude than Randy Orton from everything that I have heard. The Havana Pitbulls are a pretty decent tag team that would add variety to any division. They don't have a ton of charisma as far as mic skills but they kind of get a personality through in their ring work. Not the best tag team but they get the job done. I wrote this one in another thread but I think the Carnage Crew will end up in the new ECW as long as it lasts. The are 2 big guys that have some pretty good wrestling skills but usually end up brawling. They are also pretty darn good on the mic. They could fill that much needed heel role that ECW needs. Could be the new Dudley Boys if booked correctly. Ring of Honor is a good place to look for the future talent in my eyes. They seem to pick up some of the best prospects. Unfortunately they also get some really crappy ones like the Ring Crew Express and Jack Evans but I think that both TNA and WWE will be getting alot of stars from ROH for quite some time.

Another young team to watch is the brother duo of the "Irish Airborne", Dave and Jake Crist, from Heartland Wrestling Association. The Airborne recently debuted with Ring of Honor. Although they are undersized, they are creative and fearless.
HWA Champion Jon Moxley also has a decent shot at moving up. He has a good physique, a good look, and plays the "Loose Cannon" role as well as anybody.
HWA pulled out a couple of surprises on this week's TV show with appearances by Rosey and Heidenreich. Rosey (still in superhero costume) challenged Moxley, while Heidenreich (still in spiked shoulder pads and face paint) put over Moxley's protege Eric Darkstorm in a screwjob finish when Darkstorm hit him with Moxley's title belt.

Hey, daytondave!
What do you think of that new guy from ULTIMATE FIGHTER who's challenging Matt Stryker at the June 10 online PPV, ROAD TO DESTINY (the name escapes me real quick). He just screwed Stryker out of the TV title so that that idiot Brad Smith could win it.

That would be Josh Rafferty. I am looking forward to seeing what he can do!
Ultimate Fighting is hot right now. ESPN did a huge segment on Outside the Lines this morning. The timing is right for a crossover gimmick. Shamrock, Severn, and Tank Abbott came along a few years too soon.
Brad Smith gets major heat and his shtick is hilarious. He is way too small and doesn't have the "look" to have a shot at the big time but I consider him a pretty solid in-ring performer. I could see him having a run with the TV title for a few months while Stryker feuds with Rafferty. I wonder how far he could go as a manager?

I wanted to throw another name out there as a potential future star. Babi Slymm has a good size, some good in ring skills and has alot of personality. I hate his name but that can easily be changed. I also forgot about Onyx who I talked about in the Deep South thread. I have been a fan of his since he was in NWA Wildside. He has been on TNA for a short time. He is ripped and has alot of skill in the ring. His mic work could use some work but he is not far off.

After Wildside folded, I would've thought he'd see some time in TNA or be groomed for the WWE. He used to be my favorite wrestler on Wildside.

After Wildside folded a new promotion popped up called NWA Anarchy and alot of the same guys wrestle there. I am not sure if Wrenn does or not. Ice Berg had a few matches in ROH though. The crowd did not like him at all but I still do. He was a big man wrestler and the ROH fans don't really know how to take that. They are pretty stupid in some ways.

I think BJ Whitmer could make it in the big time. He's got the right size and physique, he gets better and better on the mic each time he cuts a promo, and he's learning how to deliver in a main event storyline right now in the ROH vs. CZW feud.

I guess I have not seen enough of Whitmer to make a really good judgement on him but I know his in ring work is very good. I have not seen him much if at all on the mic. I am usually about a year behind on ROH. I only buy their dvds when I can get them on their 10 dollar deal.

BJ Whitmer challenges Necro Butcher in the newest ROH Video Recap. It's about halfway through the video if you want to see a recent Whitmer promo. Its basically a studio promo rather than an in-ring promo, and he's still a little rough with them. He brings out a lot more intensity in his in-ring promos, though, and they're significantly better. He's still got a ways to go on the mic, but he definitely is getting better as he gets more and more comfortable with it.

Well, you were right...he has gotten pretty good. A little rough around the edges but that will come with time and practice. I should start watching those things to keep up with ROH because I am going when they come here in August.

Yeah, he's a little rough in that one ... he almost seems to be reading from cue cards, or at the very least from a script. On the recent DVDs I've seen when he's just doing stuff in the ring. My wife, her brother, and I have front row seats to the Dayton show when said Whitmer/Necro match is going to happen. She's sick to her stomach already.

I am actually taking my fiance to the one in August. She always complains about me making her go but has a pretty decent time while she is there.
Whitmer was a bit rough in the one you showed me but really not as bad as I thought he was and certainly better than tons of guys that I have seen. I think he may be someone who will take a while to finally get into a bigger promotion but then may get some big things happening for him. I don't know though. He isn't flashy but you don't necessarily have to be.
