Gail and Nidia are a bit of surprise, the rest were deadweight.

Two rumors I've heard... The WWE are going to combine RAW and SMACKDOWN rosters. I find this hard to believe especially with the recent release of the video game. The second is that he WWE are about to get some major talent pickups from TNA. Only a few that I could see that they would be interested in. Graymar

Gail and Nidia are a bit of surprise, the rest were deadweight. Well, of that list I'd really only call Gunn dead weight. The others generally never really had the chance they neede. Although it's interesting to note that all of the guys other than Gunn were relatively big men. I'd suggest that the WWE is trying to move away from that image, but then I see Snitsky on RAW so whatever. Really stupid to let go of two moderately-talented women, though. Yay diva search.

I would argue that A-Train had plenty of shots himself...but Palumbo? That's just disappointing.
Maybe Chuck will be TNA bound.

I cannot understand why WWE would let Nidia and, especially, Gail Kim go. It appears that the WWE doesn't want anyone who looks as if they could be anything other than white in their women's division.

With Gail Kim, Nidia, and Jazz gone they have effectivily killed the women's division...but I have heard rumors of bringing Dawn Marie, Torrie, and Miss Jackie to Raw and giving them a chance at the title as we are now left with Trish, Lita, Victoria, and Molly.

Most WWE fans don't see the women as anything more than an excuse for gratuitous T&A...so whatever to the women getting released. Nidia wasn't all that great at anything and Kim didn't look enough like a barbie doll to be given the Babe of the Year type push.
And those guys are dead weight. Every one of them was given a run at some point in time (Test & Gunn have been given a couple of singles pushes) and done nothing with them. With the state of the wrestling business right now, it's not really a shock that this caliber of midcarder is being given their pink slip. Actually, it's pretty much a carbon copy of the state of the GWF universe in 2119 that has them releasing Scion Nexus and Euritar.....why pay someone who isn't contributing to any meaningful storylines?
Now if you want to talk about who exactly is evaluating the talent on Smackdown that has two of their biggest heel slots going to 'talents' like Bradshaw and Heiden-wretched....now there's something to wonder about.

I have to disagree on JBL, actually...he's far more entertaining now then he ever has been as a wrestler...the only other time he's approached being more entertaining was when he and Ron Simmons weren't actually wrestling.
Palumbo was never given a shot in the WWE...his one real shot was in WCW, and he and O'Haire actually DID get over as a legitimate tag team before the buyout.
I'm truly stunned about Gail Kim and Nidia...I can't feature either of them making THAT much money. Though Nidia is both a horrible wrestler and unattractive, but I could argue the same about Lita...=P Gail Kim, at least, seems okay in the ring.
A much better question is "If they're cutting people...why's Hardcore Holly stll employed?"

WWE Also released Johnny Stamboli,Jazz and her husband Rodney Mack
There goes the womans division right down the tube. They just got rid of 2 of their best woman talent
Gail Kim was a great talent but never really got much of a chance since her debut
Jazz is tough but injury prone
Nidia was a huge surprise
Rumor has it they plan on bring Dawn Marie,Torrie Wilson and Miss Jackie from Smackdown to Raw to compete in the division
Lets see how thats sits with Torrie's husband Billy Kidman and Miss Jackie's fiancee Charlie Haas

I cant beleive they released Billy Gunn, he's one of my favorite wrestlers and one of the greatest tag wrestlers of all time. Im just disappointed that WWE released such a veteran....even if he was dead weight, but its WWE's fault he was dead weight.
Pulumbo and Stamboli left...so Nunzios the last survivng member of WWE FBI
And they tell Test "We hope whove saved some money" LOL

Yeah, that one really irritated me. Over with the fans? Check. Talented? Check. Somewhat unique gimmick? Check. Over 40? Check. YOOOOOOOOOOUUUUUUUU'RRRRE FIIIIIIIIRRRRRRRRRED! As for the next two... how about Holly and Venis? I'll miss Val (although not really since I haven't watched Heat in ages), but he seems to fit the mold of the rest of these released.

We can't be far away from that belt being determined in B&P matches again, sadly. Fit Finlay must be ready to shoot himself.

I'm thinking Nunzio, Rosie, Val, or Stevie Richards. All of whom they haven't done much with in a while.

I'm thinking firing Stevie might be a GOOD thing...TNA could have some fun wth him, especially if the creative revolt does happen.

WWE has confirmed the release of Tough Enough 2 winner Linda Miles, who was known on SmackDown! as Shaniqua. Although wrestlers were assured there would be no further releases in the near future, Miles, who was currently in OVW, has long been viewed as a "problem" by WWE, so many were not shocked by this decision.
Most recently, Miles was guilty of no-showing several training sessions and OVW shows; unable to be reached by WWE officials. According to a PWInsider.com, she actually was considering personally leaving the business. Ironically, WWE was actually contemplating calling her up to RAW, but ultimately decided to give her the pink slip.
Miles had been a topic of discussion in the backstage area for her attitude problem, which earned her resentment from many OVW workers. She was viewed as not being appreciative of the fact that she "won" a spot with WWE and a vicious argument this July with Jim Cornette after a lousy match didn't earn her any supporters.
In fact, it was her attitude that partially led to the decision to demote her from her position as valet for the Bashams. She was expecting to continue training to work a singles role on the RAW roster, but such a call-up obviously never came
