Is it just me, or . . .

-Does John Cena's gimmick HEAVILY outweigh his in-ring talent? I don't see anything in his reportoire or work rate that would make him a convincing champion that could carry a promotion - especially the current Smackdown. And didn't the DVD die alongside the temple grinder and the rolling elbow?
Either he should go heel and beat the hell out of Eddie Guerrero at every opportunity, or he should vastly improve his skills and change his finisher to something a bit more with the times.
-Does Sean O'Haire, a far more talented wrestler than John Bradshaw Layfield, have a valid and actionable case against the WWE? Bradshaw seems to be benefitting from his conservative political beliefs - which the McMahons share - in his in-ring career. O'Haire seems to have died by association to the politicing of Roddy Piper ("Hey, I do drugs just like everybody else in this business!") and Vince McMahon ("Drugs . . .? Not in the WWE!"). The sad truth is that if you pull out the tapes and watch the archives, not only is O'Haire a better all-around athlete, but he's a better wrestler than Bradshaw with a much better upside, interesting look and background. Hey, I appreciate what Johnny has said and done on behalf of the troops, but if that was all that mattered, why hasn't Al Franken, Toby Keith or Kid Rock been signed?
-Is Smackdown this era's version of the 1999-2000 WCW Nitro. No energy, no star power, no surprises, bad writing and tons of potential wasted. I just read that WWE creative may be out of ideas for Rey Mysterio. How the hell is that possible?! Many think a live broadcast will cure all ills, but live garbage is still garbage. I think the Thursday night roster is already talented (in a 1995-1996 WWF Raw roster sort of way). Give Charlie Haas and RVD some prime pushes, put an edge on Cena and bring Lance Storm and Test over to join Booker in the SD diss-fest (not to mention having Lance in a WRESTLING match with Guerrero and Test and Booker back on the same page), and the mood starts to change. These few things don't solve everything, but they help create a plan that can re-energize a show that needs far more than a live backdrop.
-Is Eugene about the most insulting thing that can happen to wrestling fans? Everyone bitched about the McMahon TV time monoploy, and we were all uneasy (ahh, admit it) about a one-legged wrestler headlining. So how is this better? Maybe in the eighties, this idea would work. Now, on the heels of a mass exodus of talent, a headlining expose' on steroid-related wrestling deaths and the down-turn in business overall, Eugene smacks of the desperation that Katie Vick, David Arquette, and the marriage of Billy and Chucky represented when the industry wanted fans and detractors to start talking about the business. Problem was that each of the previous gimmicks generated talk that hurt the product and shrank the fanbase, and none of them made the shows better.
-Is the Shelton Benjamin push awesome or what? Talent getting rewarded for in-ring performance. Now there's a concept. Too bad this means that Charlie Haas is the Marty Janetty of the team.
Don't leave me hanging. Let me know what you think. My skin's thick and responses to most of my posts are thin, so help me out.
