Question about LOD in the re-release set

Considering I just got into LOW this past summer, I'm kind of uninformed when it comes to these things, so bare with me please.

Why was the artwork for LOD in the new Intro box set changed? I like the ones I got, but I've just wondered why they changed their artwork.

Not sure this is officially correct, but Paul Ellering was signed later on. I believe the artwork was changed (along with some slight card modifications) as a result.

I think that the orginal art work that came out was cool for a the yonger LOD and then they spice it up and brought in ellering and revamped the artwork and LOD looks a bit older and bit better. I have no idea but LOD rules!

The old drawings represented the same era of the Road Warriors, but were far less detailed. The newer artwork works with the Paul Ellering art to create a larger team picture when set side-by-side. It's just an overall upgrade.
