RIC FLAIR whips JAKE CRIST into the ropes, but sets too early for his backdrop. Jake stops in his tracks and catches the Nature Boy in a piledriver. Jake immediately comes back with the Double Shot and Flair rolls snake-eyes!
Nice pic of Jake in the PWI 500 issue, btw.

I think the biggest upset in my fed was Danny Doring pinning Buddy Rogers, both in the original bout and the rematch!

I think for me was Buddy Rose kicking the Road Warriors butts in a tag match.

Who the hell is Jake Crist and what are his stats?
This is why I don't use bootlegs, especially guys who've been in the business for 10 seconds.
Not to piss on the guy, nothing personal, but even if you're the champ of whatever little fed you work in, your stats for LOW should NOT be even remotely close to a Race, Mascaras, Brazil or Valentine
Of course, Flair's card might be shite too.
I just ran a card that had The Midnight Express beat Mascaras, Wolf and The Crusher in a 2/3 falls match. Pinning Mascaras in two straight falls. He couldn't make a tag and got destroyed. Sucked.

You haven't even seen the card and you think it's as strong as Flair's? That's why he called it a 'spectacular upset'. Christ.

I don't like bootlegs either. My legends fed is strictly kosher, there is so much talent coming in I can't even make way for the whole roster anyway so it's an obvious choice. For me it makes it more interesting to be suprised with new official wrestlers signing into a new set. I nearly did use some old GWF jobber guys like you godzillajoe, I think it doesn't matter as much because they should lose and their job is to enhance the talent so by 'humanizing' them it could be considered ok, but I haven't had the need to go that route yet but maybe if I have a '80's Superstars of Wrestling' type show, I'll consider it.

I've incorporated as many bootlegs into my fed as I can (I currently have around 100 single wrestlers and 50 tagteams). I see no wrong in using bootlegs as I'm very unfamiliar with a lot of the official cards (I was born and raised in England, you know). But I don't really use bootlegs of today's wrestlers simply because they have fancy names for their moves and I cannot be bothered finding them out!

Each to their own I guess. At the end of the day 'it's up to you promoter'. I don't see a problem with 'unknown' characters, I thought that way at first but guys like Buddy Rogers and Frank Gotch are my favourites now. It even helps in a way that they are obscure to me (in the sense that I never saw them wrestle) because my imagination develops an attitude and character for them. The problem with having that many bootlegs is that I would need all week to use them, I would also lose interest. I prefer a slightly more infrequent shedule with a bit of build up, about twice a week is right for me.

I've said it before but in my old Fed Koko B. Ware upset Buddy Rogers for the World Title. Rogers soundly destroyed him in the rematch.
In my current Fed Steve Corino pinned Mil Mascaras after 5 undetected steel chair shots IN A ROW! The referee must have been doped up or something.
Really wish I had time to get playing again. I dread I may reboot when i finally have time o meaningfully play again.

Jake Crist is one-half of the brother duo known as the Irish Airborne. The Crist brothers are local guys (from just outside Dayton) who came up through the Heartland Wrestling Association and have made frequent appearances on Ring of Honor, including a win over the Briscoes. Both were in the 2007 PWI 500, in the 350 range.
Jake has quite a good tag team card, but a 7(4) pin rating. He caught a break against Flair, after getting a cruiserweight out of the ring move against him, then caught him off the ropes with the piledriver and Flair hit snakeyes. I'm a huge Flair mark and I was shocked and disappointed that he got knocked out of the tournament.
I use a lot of bootlegs in my fed, but I am very selective about my sources. I go first to Chad and Cory's site, then to Knapik, but rarely do I go further. Since my fed encompasses four other promoters, there really aren't enough LOW Originals to go around.
That having been said, I have great respect for Tom, for Tim, and Todd (and most anyone else whose name begins with "T"), and the work they do in compiling the Legends. If the NWA group ever falls apart, and I need to reboot, my next fed will be strictly LOW Originals.
