For example, you get the line "piledriver-3 (ch A)"
The instructions say avoid piledriver and go to choice chart, so why is the piledriver bit listed?
Does anyone ever use that bit instead of the choices chart?

Does anyone ever use that bit instead of the choices chart? IIRC the piledriver is listed for anyone playing by the basic rules (instead of the advanced rules) where the choice situations don't apply. I personally alternate between doing the actual move listed on the card and then, when the next time that move is rolled during the match, going by the choice situation.

Technically, you'll never see "piledriver - 3 (ch A)" since "ch A" only attaches to level 2 offense moves.
To the point of the question, the "piledriver - 3" is for use when playing basic rules and the (ch A) piece only comes into play under advanced rules.

Like mentioned earlier, if you choose to use the advance rule, I ignore the move listed on the Ch Chart. I simply look at the roll to see if it is successful...and go by the move already listed on the wrestler's card
I just like the Ch Charts better because it brings more strategy to the table.

I think it should be a true choice...go by the card OR use the Choice charts. Adds even more strategy Allen

I think it should be a true choice...go by the card OR use the Choice charts. Adds even more strategy Allen That only works when the Ch is attached to a lvl. 2 move and isn't A or B. Otherwise, if the card says piledriver - 3 (ch G) why would I ever roll to see if I get a 3 move when there is one on the card already that I just rolled? If it says body slam - 2 (ch F) then there is a 3 move that you can try for. I used to ignore the Ch if it was attached to a 3 move but have been playing by the rules where you have to pick one of the choice moves to try.

What crazy thing I tend to do is roll one die. On a move-2, if the dice says 1 or 2, I do the move listed. 3-6 and I go to the chart. Obviously, a move-3 means 1-3 the move, and 4-6 the chart.
That way, I have one more thing to blame on the dice ... :-)

I always play by myself, so to keep things moving I alternate. I use the move, then use the chart.

Yea I roll one die. EVEN: I use the move stated. ODD: I refer to the choice sitch chart. That way, the move on the card has a chance of being used, and you get some strategy off of the chart as well. Little bit of both.
