I was going over my plans for future cards / direction for the talent in my POW fed & realized that most of the feuds in the handbook aren't really applicable to the weight classes of those involved in them.
For example: TK is feuding with Absalom & Indigo in kind of a three sided war...but TK is a cruiserweight. Absalom & Indigo are both heavyweights. The same can be said for Dante vs. Mensar or Cypher vs. Zed Marlowe.
I was just wondering what others are doing regarding these feuds in their feds. In feds that use wrestling matches along with MMA matches this wouldn't be a problem...but in purely MMA feds this becomes an issue.
Thoughts? Ideas?

I think as the fed (or feds) plays out, natural rivalries will develop along weight class lines more so than they are now. One of the main reasons I brought Ahnu back rather than Dar Gova or another Jardiil was so that the weight classes between Ahnu and Thayne would be the same. That's also why I bumped Saboteur's weight up so he and Shylock would both be heavyweights.
There will probably always wind up being discrepancies between the wrestling feuding opponents and their weight classes, but I'm pretty confident in the ingenuity of POW players to know what works well for them on the MMA side of things. Maybe in a future handbook it can be broken down by wrestling feuds and MMA feuds for each competitor (not a bad idea at all, now that I've considered it!).
But good point to raise in general. Thanks!

I was worried about this when I first started up the MMA, but the spontaneous feuds have really popped up quickly for me. Still, I like to have my characters continue to take shots or hint at their rivals in interviews. Just in case someone drops or gains some weight in future editions or meet in some sort of openweight environment. I'm hoping that this will actually add to the feuds should the two rivals actually get to meet.

My feds have always gone pretty far from the canon, so my feuds have always had to be spontaneous or creatively driven. I was asking if the feuds had been taken into account with regards to MMA. I was hoping Mark would chime in with his thoughts Thank you Mark I was thinking of making an open division so I could play out some of those storylines in my fed. I understand the principle of having different weight divisions...but I'm not sure it is really necessary in the game itself. Do I think Euritar would take on someone like Rubicon in an MMA fight? Absolutely..and would probably win too....Now that I'm talking about it...I'm going to do it. Thanks Hyde.

I've thought of running an old style tournament that removes weight classes in addition to the weight classes. No belts but a trophy and bragging rights as to whose the best. I've never been one to follow the books and fueds to closley. I kind of let my matches decide that for me.
