I played my first round of matches tonight (results to be posted in a few days), but a question arose. So is it good to have a +on offense, but a -on defense? The charts use the terms higher and lower, but which is it, because when I think GWF I think - is higher, due to it being better. Do you mean numerically or according to CotG standards?

On offense, + is better; on defense, - is better. When a KO/SUB is rolled, you wind up taking the difference between the two numbers, which winds up becoming the "finisher" rating. So if the offensive guy is +2 at that level and the defensive guy is -1, the "finisher" rating is a +1.

I got the KO/SUB thing, my problem was with the charts when it says the "higher" or "lower". I just wanted clarification on who edged whom in these encounters.

For the charts, the same rule applies. The higher the number after + for offense, the better, and the lower the number for defense the better. So a +3 is as good as it gets on offense, and a -3 is as good as it gets on defense.
If it helps, think of offensive power as being like a finisher potency, and the defensive power as being like the wrestling cards' power and agility numbers.
Believe me, the other way I initially came up with to handle this had way too much math!
