Edge Injured At WWE House Show

It could be bad…

Last night at a WWE house show in San Diego, Edge was injured in a match with Jeff Hardy. About 5-minutes into the match, Edge went down with what looks to be a torn Achilles tendon. The injury looked to come off of him simply planting his foot wrong. The match was immediately stopped, and EMT's came to the ring to help Edge, who apologized to the fans before being taken to the back.

If the injury is a torn Achilles tendon, it will require surgery and a long recovery time. WWE is currently looking for a way to get the tag titles onto Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase. The company is also looking at footage shot for this week's Smackdown, to see if there is a spot in the footage where they can claim the injury took place, if the torn Achilles tendon is the actual injury.

I'm going to say that this sucks that Edge a true star on Smackdown with Y2J, this hurts the WWE and they need to really rebound from a bland week of wrestling shows. Lastnights Smackdown was bad, I'm about ready to tune out the WWE for a spell again and return somewhere down the road later.

Yeah, I was just enjoying the idea that neither Edge nor Jericho would be fighting for any singles titles anytime soon. Edge might be out of action, but that would mean Jericho could be put back in singles storylines.

I liked them better when they were out of the singles titles spotlights.

The worst part about this is that Edge/Jericho were the unified Tag Champs, which meant they were effectively on every show. There aren't a lot of guys on the combined WWE roster who could have carried that, and with Edge down now there's one less. Dibiase/Rhodes is not the answer...

The Tag Divison or lack there of took a hit, but then again the hit came along time ago...

They need to come up with something good for sure, it will be another week before we know what unfolds with this since this weeks shows are already filmed.

The tag team they should've never split was John Morrison and the Miz, those two handled the cross brand wrestling and they were one of the better tag teams going...
