I picked up Savage's DVD today. No talking from him; just between-match discussion from Matt Stryker and Maria. Matches include:
-All WM's from 3-9 (No 2 or 6) -Debut match -First time vs. Steamboat (not the ring bell moment) -IC Match vs. Santana -First time vs. Hogan -Cage match vs. Dibiase -Tuesday night In Texas Match vs. Roberts -SS Tag match with Hogan -At least two matches with flair (I think they're both WCW) -WCW match vs. DDP (Falls count anywhere) -WCW Tag match, teaming with Sid Vicious vs. Sting + Nash
There's also a bunch of promos/interview segments, the SS wedding, and Elizabeth's debut.
Not a bad collection, though I figured they'd have better WCW matches, not that I saw many of them. I'm at his first title reign, and so far I'm enjoying the DVD. I'm just glad Vince went ahead and allowed it to be released.

Sounds decent but I'll pass. Maria giving commentary on the matches? I dig her and all but come on.

Just in the little clips between matches, and she's mostly spot-on with her knowledge. Basically, it has them talking for a minute, then the match, then them talking, then another match. For once she's not acting like a ditz.

Interesting. Is the main program a documentary-style thing or just "here's a series of matches"?

Mostly a list of matches, with a few things in between. For example, After the WM 7 match vs. Warrior, they show clips of the wedding (the entire thing can be seen as an extra), followed by the incidents with Jake, then the match with Jake. The talking is more to build up the next match than anything else.
Oh yeah, and the only part I don't like is they start with is WWF debut, not his actual debut, so you don't see anything from his pre-WWF days.

interesting. I love Randy Savage. One of my all time favorites. I seen it was coming out and thought it might be good. And btw, I don't think Randy really had that many "good matches" or "better matches" in his WCW days. IMO. After that whole nWo angle played itself out, Mach really went nowhere there.
I'd like to see more of his early Pre WWF days. I've seen some on Youtube here and there and it was cool. Too bad they didn't have any of that archived on the video! I'll have to check this out though, might be worth it!?
