ANOTHER YOUNG WRESTLER DEAD
Abismo Negro from the AAA promotion, whose real name is Andres
Palomeque, has been found dead in a river in Mexico. He was 37.
Details are sketchy at this point other than multiple sources in Mexico
have confirmed the story.
Palomeque reportedly had a bad reputation for drug problems and no
showing events.
He spent most of his career with AAA as well as runs with CMLL and NOAH
in Japan. In addition he worked spots over the years for the WWE and
TNA.
He was on the 1997 Royal Rumble show in San Antonio at the the Alamo
Dome and worked a few episodes of Raw. He also worked as part of Team
Mexico in the 2004 World X cup tournament for TNA.
STEVE DOLL PASSES AWAY
Steve Doll, most famous for his 1993-1995 WWF run as Steven Dunn in the
tag team Well Dunn, passed away earlier today in Tennessee. He was 44.
We don't have all the details yet but he had been on life support and
his family made the decision to remove him from his ventilator. Doll was
hospitalized two years ago after suffering some type of seizure related
to an intestinal blockage. He underwent surgery at the time.
Doll started in 1984 training with Rick and John Davidson, eventually
debuting in Shreveport, LA in May 1985, against Dick Slater. He worked
for Pacific Northwest Wrestling from 1987 to 1992. He formed a tag team
with Rex King called the Southern Rockers in 1989, and they tagged
together for over a decade, including their WWF run -- King went by the
name of Timothy Well -- as Well Dunn. The team was managed by Harvey
Wippleman (Bruno Lauer) used primarily as an under card team feuding
with The Bushwhackers on several episodes of Monday Night Raw.
Doll also had brief stints in WCW and the United States Wrestling
Association as well as numerous southern independents.
