after noticing that no one has posted anything here for 5 days...i have to ask...should the cpc close down?i have to admit i'm losing a little interest in it.there are some great characters but over all,its nothing special.and if promoters are also starting up the aCe federations,is the cpc valid??

How about..no?
No offense to Mr. Osk, but I'd aCe in a heartbeat if I had to choose between it or the CPC. Part of the reason there's been less activity is that several people got to 2119 via New Beginning. Tom also them to purchase the cards that were missing from aCe needed to run that fed...CPC has no such "buy in" deal...you pretty much have to be going all the way through or you're missing cards you need.
No, the CPC needs to stay put...although perhaps with Werner Mueck doing the art.

I concur, I love the CPC and its characters, and I agree with Tommy about the reason for lack of board activity.

I think Euritar going to the CPC will spark a lot of interest in it again.
I'm not quite to the CPC era yet, but when I get there, I'll be playing it for sure. I really dig some of the CPC characters I've read about in the GWF Files.

For some reason my point has been vetoed in the past but here is what I thought about it ...
If Tom is going to stick to the GWF once a year, make GWF in July and CPC in January. Give the CPC some spotlight, why not build it up to a big event. This way right now this board goes insane because CPC is building up to it's release in January and Mark can be here dropping teasers.
... I honestly think there is a conspiracy against Mark. He's a nice kid and you need to let the CPC build a little bit. Right now it's treated like that stepchild no one wants. It isn't given the talent it deserves and it needs more SPOTLIGHT. Which I think would build it up.
Of course if you ask what are the two biggest feds the answer will be GWF and ACE ... they each have their own special release dates, six months apart!!!
CPC 4 LIFE!!!!

Good point Todd (Vidtek). From what I've read, it seems that you treat the CPC as an equal to the GWF, like your whole Wraith undefeated streak thing. When I get to that point, I'm going to treat it as an equal as well, and even have a fed vs. fed supercard every 3 game years. When I get to ACE (light years from now), I'll toss those guys into the mix as well.

The CPC won't close down because a lot of people really enjoy it.
But in needs something...
a new artist...a new direction...bigger pay-offs. I always imagined the CPC being built around Shylock vs. Sabatour much like the GWF built towards Bloodline vs. Encubus...
The biggest issue I see with the CPC, is the lack of "major players" in the fed. There is no defined "top face" or "top heel"...Jack of Diamonds was the closest character to filling this role, which he did nicely at first.
the fed and it's story-lines have been built around 7 people without game cards, and who aren't wrestlers...
this was followed up with the fed revolving around Barnabus.
I thought Rubicon was going to be the "top heel", but he seemed to be lost in the mix almost immediatly.
Mensar, Cordanus, and Mike Fortune were a foundation that Mark could have written 3 sets worth of story-lines around and they all left, or were not used.
The CPC is cool. But it just needs a big kick in a different direction...

I agree with Swarm on that. The CPC has all the potential in the world, but it's dragged its feet recently and is getting lost in the shuffle. Perhaps with Euritar, Mensar, and the return of Saboteur among other things...CPC could break out.

In my opinion, the next CPC set should look something like this:
SABATOUR (best card in the fed...) SHYLOCK (Upgrade to top guy status, with an altered gimmick and a darker drawing.) EURITAR (associated with Mensar) MENSAR (associated with Euritar) ANGST (he's bound to relapse and he was 10 times cooler when he was freaking out.) THE PENTHOUSE PUNKS (Give the fans what they want...put these cult favorites back together for a swan song. Make them excellent tag wrestlers, but poor singles wrestlers. Give them a few add 1 moves, and nice +2 Finisher and a bunch of tags. People will have a fast-paced natural tag team to use who everybody marks out for anyways.) PRODIGY (Commisioner will NO DRAMA surrounding him. Just like it gets old to see The McMahons on RAW at 11:05, it gets old reading about 7 people, Cordnus, Magnus Colby, Jack of Diamonds, Senora Pelf etc...all fighting for control of the fed when it doesn't affect the game or the matches or the wrestlers in any way.
That's 8 major players. Granted no rookies, but you get the new commisoner, the return of 2 major GWF stars, if brought in together, give the same effect as as Hall and Nash did coming into WCW...the re-united Punks who can feud with Jack and Scion, and both the No.1 Heel, and the No. 1 Hero in your fed in the same set.

Well, Prell is contractually Commish a while longer, if mechanically there's a good way to do a warring authority figures with President Prodigy, though, it's all good.

Mark does some great stuff...and even though i don't get to play CPC as much as I'd like it is still a great fed and story.

The GWF should go before the CPC huh? You should never be allowed to buy another set from Tom for as long as you live for that comment.

I like the CPC, too. I have a lot of fun taking the characters in different directions and what not, but what the hell are you talking about? Why should the GWF be closed down in favor of one fed that is an offshoot of it and another that is a year old and operates in another dimenstion? Just curious.

Could just be that David feels like the CPC connects better than the GWF does lately.
Not an unvalid criticism when the writing styles are so wildly different between the three feds. Now me, I have things I don't like about all three, and things I love about all three, so I don't wanna see any of them go anywhere anytime soon...=)

At times I wonder , just why I even bother putting out messages on these board . I given my feelings and all hell lets loose . Lets get 1 things right , I do not want ANY federation to close (GWF \ CPC / Legends or any bootlegs) . Personally the more feds , the better the competition ? . Look at WWE now its bought out WCW & ECW etc . There is no real competition apart from TNA . Look at the stateof WWE has got itsself into . Soug feels CPC should go . I personally feel going off my feds that GWF should go , IF any had to go . But we all know NONE will go , because its making Tom a living (which I have no problem with . Only wish I was doing it instead of the job I hate doing) . Now for saying my feelings on should the CPC stay , I should never be allowed to buy another GWF card set ha ha .

If the CPC needs something different to put it in the spotlight, then the hinted-at abandoning of the Team Format could be it. Ironically, it wou;d be like returning to the origins ot he GWF, with an "every man for himself" mentality.
