So Aquinas,
Did Sveum have an inexplicable tendency to wave every single runner home while he was third base coach like he did when he was in Boston? I don't know much else about his managing skills, but this fact makes me chuckle now for every time I think of Dale Sveum as a major league manager, of a pretty good club no less.

No, I don't recall an excessive amount of that in his tenure here. He was pretty solid over there -- maybe he learned his lesson?
In any case, I'm not so much wild about Sveum as I'm so anti-Yost. I've been calling for Yost's head for over 2 years....this is too little, too late.
Regardless, they are very limited in what they can do to fix this sinking ship -- and this is at least something. Can't hurt.

Can I just say as a fan of a small market team how much it would warm my heart to see a Brewers/Rays World Series?

Can I just say as a fan of a small market team how much it would warm my heart to see a Brewers/Rays World Series? You certainly can, my friend, because I completely agree. That's my dream scenario. Two teams who have built themselves up through the minors and scouting young talent....and probably won't be able to keep the talent because the damn big markets will pluck their stars when they get pricey. This is the Brewers' window. Next year, the playoffs will probably be a long shot.

I am pulling for the Brewers this offseason particularly because it is their window. They sent the Mets home, now it's time to do the same to Chicago, Philadelphia, and L.A. Go Crew.

Rooting for them this offseason isn't going to do them a whole hell of a lot of good this post season. This offseason, they've got Ben Sheets and CC Sabathia becoming free agents and they might trade Prince Fielder. Rooting for them this postseason might be useful, but they need all the support they can get this offseason as well. Yeah... that's what I meant!
