Now that everything's in one piece, I wanted to see what you guys thought...
First, EliteXC:
-- Frank Shamrock is a complete shill... he and is announce partner put him over more than Hulk Hogan does in a Bubba the Love Sponge interview.. it was really getting on my nerves toward the end.
-- I as very disappointed at the stoppage in the (far and away) best fight of the night... I don't necessarily blame the doctor though.. if he said he couldn't see, it's gonna get stopped... that's clear.
-- The Kimbo fight was a joke... he was horrible, and should have been losing with the judges after the 1st two rounds.. and the referee stops it when the other guy was not only well enough to agrue, but slap him upside the head? Made it look fixed, which is a VERY bad thing.... almost as bad as Kimbo the poster boy being too tired to do a post-match interview.
-- The mentioned UFC ALOT, which was odd... If I didn't know better, I would think EliteXC was the UFC's developmental fed or something the way the announcers constantly used UFC references to attempt to put guys over.
WEC, OTOH, was great... the Torres-Maeda fight was massively entertaining, and the main Event was pretty decent, thoguh I though Pulver would bring more to that table... I'll defiantely be trying to catch more of these cards.
EliteXC... not so much.

-- I as very disappointed at the stoppage in the (far and away) best fight of the night... I don't necessarily blame the doctor though.. if he said he couldn't see, it's gonna get stopped... that's clear. The doctor's a hack. Smith had to point her to the correct eye as the first two times she took a look, she was looking in the wrong eye. Smith was told he had five minutes to recover. She was probing him after 2. How about giving him his five minutes and then asking if he can see. Of course, I'm slightly biased having followed Smith since the WEC days. FIXED!!!! ;D Kimbo should've lost when Thompson was elbowing to the head for a full minute straight. Sure they were weak but he was not "defending himself". Gary Shaw is a complete slimeball. I've been following WEC for a long time and it's always been a good product. Two of my favorite fighters came out of WEC, Scott Smith and Jame Irvin. There's something about watching them when they are nobodies hoping they succeed so you can say you watched them when they were starting out. However, at the same time I hate Doug Marshall so much I want him to get a UFC contract so I can see him pummelled by the stacked Light Heavyweight Division.

The Torres fight was great, as was the Faber fight. I really did not give Jens a chance and he showed me i was very very wrong.
I really like Rob McCullough as well, but I think he was gifted that fight. Not as bad as Kimbo, though.

Yeah, to some extent... they seem to think he has more charisma than Varner (I think I've got my weight classes right)... probably building for a re-match.
So what's next for Faber? Sherk maybe? Florian? Seems like he's beaten EVERYONE.

I agree with pretty much everything Wildfire said.
"Poster Boy" Kimbo was a joke. He'd get pulverized in UFC. That ending sure did reek of fixing to me.
WEC, after that dud of a first fight, was very very good. I really enjoyed the entire broadcast. The last two fights were just outstanding.
I have no real interest or desire to bother with EliteXC again, unless supremely bored.

What's the weight difference... 10 lbs? I think Faber-Sherk could be an awesome fight.

What's the weight difference... 10 lbs? I think Faber-Sherk could be an awesome fight. I don't know if he'd be as explosive and quick even though it's only 10 pounds. But Sherk was fighting competitvely a weight higher before the lightweight division was brought back. Plus, I'm sure Sherk will go back to the boring ass Lay and Pray now that he got his ass handed to him trying to stand.

That could be... that's the thing with the lightweights... most of them were fighting higher and had to come down to lightweight... Faber might be at a big disadvantage going the other way.

The Faber - Pulver fight was a slugfest. It was a great main event...much better than that Kimbo disgrace!
