. . . . Does Talon continually have the worst drawn cards in the history of Filsinger Games. Not one of his cards has been very well drawn, including the new Savagery 2120 card.
No disrespect to the talented team of artists involved in the game over the years, but Talon either looks lopsided, Kabuki-like, half naked or just strange. The new card looks like another Kabuki offering with small hands (ala Rob Liefield), awkward shoulder pads and no neck.
I hate to be critical, especially considering the quality of the entire 2120 offering. It's just that the Talon card falls way below the level of the rest of the set, artistically, and that annoys me. I suppose I'll use the card (even though the mostly shaded art means I can't color it like I do all the others), but I'm pretty uninspired by it. I guess I want a Talon card that looks good enough to elevate him above the "early Raven sketch" that he debuted as. I'm still waiting for that to happen, and I wont take the character very seriously until he looks and plays better than a retread.

I think the thing that hurts him is mark wants him flying around in the drawing...
also Jeremy never really could draw black wrestlers.
I don't know.

I never understood his art from a few sets ago. He looked hairy or something. And the Bendis one...ughhhhh

This is still the best *Talon* art yet.
Sadly.
His Eagle picture is, technically, better...he just looks NOTHING like a top player.

Sadly enough, that's true. It's better than his last card art but still isn't anything special. He'll still do well this year good or bad art.

Tom talks about Bendis' art in his book. Whatever the popular opinion is, I'll stick with my original thoughts that Brian Bendis is talented, but not with COTG card art.
Talon needs the ultimate makeover. Give him a haircut, put him in a perched position on top of a turnbuckle, and for God's sake, cut down on all of the shading and darkly scrawled lines on his face and upper body. If the Tiger can't draw a very good black guy, draw him the best picture you can. Not all black men share typically ethnic facial characteristics, and the back story will inform us of the character's ethnicity even if the art doesn't (ie; Prodigy).

That's true. Snelly's drawring would never have told me Prodigy was black. His 2105 card did look a bit more that way to me. (Course I always saw Raven and Talon as more Native American, but whatever works)

Yeah, I always thought Raven and Talon were "native -American" too. Why can't they be? I mean after all Omega was "Native-American" although I always saw Star Warrior as the blond haired-blue eyed type. But that's another topic.

Hey if Monad can have 4 arms, Tauran can age backwards, Wraith can disappear (I could go on)...Raven and Talon can be Native-American.

I guess it was the feathers that were on his original card.

My only problem with Eagle was he just looked way too skinny. Still, some guys are destined not to have good artwork(Hello Lord Nexus)

Compared to his earlier drawings this card is the second coming of Vigilante or Dark Justice. And to be honest with you I kind of like this card. He now has wrathful, irascible look about him. You see the biggest problem I've always had with Talon was not the artwork (as horrendous as they may have been), but the fact I forget he exists , I'd be hard pressed to think of a more grey background character in GWF history. Up to this point I've used him so infrequently, that most wrestler probably think he's just a stage hand. And I'm not making a conscious choice on that, my eyes just slip past his name. once the horror of his artwork passed by there was never anything that interested me in the character. That might change now, his card now stands out to me, he now has an actual personality, he's no longer the Cotg version of white paint. Sure his art is not as good as other cards like Stigma, Morgana, and Hanuman, but his card now has a personality. It's now one I want to use in my fed and isn't that what the artwork on the card suppose to do? Now about the Absolom card: Whats he pointing at? How does his fingerer bend like that? and shouldn't he have longer Hair?
