OK, that's a lie but I needed an attention grabber. My only lie of this post. I think Neily's a turd, he thinks I'm a turd. I won't blow smoke up his ass telling him how much I love him and want him to go to Galacticon and then make fun of him 10 minutes later. But anyway, that's not the point of my post. Knapik's post on the official board got me thinking about the good old days on this board. I know a lot of people left this board because of how cruel Ingersoll was.  My question is, why can't you still be members here. We had good times here. If you say otherwise, you are completely full of shit. Since I don't get to talk to most of you I'm going to post brief messages here to guys I miss in one way or the other. If you're not listed here it's possible I forgot (if you hadn't logged onto any board in the last 24 hours that's possible), you're already one of my peeps(yeah, I use peeps, I'm a dork, so are you, get over it) or I think you're a compete assmunch. If you don't know why I'd think you're an assmunch I probably forgot. OK, so here it goes in no particular order. I miss you guysChewey - We had some good times, even though for some reason you thought I was racist. Bigeasy - I love how you got IT and played along with me and JED-SE giving you shit about Kevin Nash Soug - We hated each other but Australia seems cool. Joe & Matt - You guys are cool. bazzy - While others lie and tell you they "love you" I loved to give you a hard time. I love that you developed a thick skin and poked fun at yourself. That's cool. Rated R - Edge rocks Tournament Master - Despite all the complaints from the masses, I've never had a problem with my promoter. Werner - Sup, Sasquatch. Swarm - A lot of people probably think we hate each other. We have a lot of differences. I think he's full of shit. He thinks I'm full of shit. Maybe that's why after everything that's happened, we still like each other even though our Peeps/Bro's disagree. Ashby - Dude, Sorry you look like Bean. J/K. You've always represented yourself as a class act when it comes to this game. JimSteel - Sorry I hijacked what would become one of the greatest threads of alltime. Ingersoll - I don't even know where to start so I'll leave it at that. Vegas - Miss ya man. It was cool talking. Travis - Savage T may suck but you don't Toasterboy- I still haven't got to hear the Havoc song DAMMIT!!! Osk - Remember the time when you posted that really kick ass smart ass post and then deleted it right away. I saw it. It was awesome. Goodzilla - Stay away from the 14 year olds. Where's my copy of that band's CD? Cakejedi - Is the Amazing Yan sill rocking the Christian Magic Circuit? Wildfire - Dude, you're an enigma. But at least you have a set of testicles. Hegemony - A lot of people rip you but I think most of your material is meant to bring on the rippage. LWPD - Kick ass vids. jefft - you're still on the list. josharpie - The Cardinals and you still suck Sorry to go all Hegemony on everyone but I do miss the old days. I agree it is sad that the community is so fractured, but the drama that made it so fun got old after a while. It was the same stuff against the same people.

As for MFT, just don't argue global warming with him... it's a dead-end battle!

A sad state of affairs indeed.
Although, my absence has been equally due to my finishing up my coursework these past few months, so hopefully I will be around a bit more in the future on this board.
I will state, however, that logging on for the first time in a long while and finding a PM telling me to "Fuck Off" from Payback is a bit childish, and as I have stated many times for all that post on that board I have yet to see one person rationalize the behavior of their supposed mods. But enough about them, since hopefully no one from Detroit will send hostile messages my way in the future...
As for this community and its fracturing, I think much of it has to do with the official discussion forum coming into existence. Not trying to ruffle any feathers, but since we are all fans of COTG first, the elimination of COTG talk here has greatly impacted the available discussion points for all of us. I don't see why all COTG talk has to go on the official Filsinger site, and considering all this board did in helping Filsinger Games develop a loyal fan base it seems counterproductive to relegate this board to secondary status. By that, I mean there are never any posts from those in Fed HQ as to new developments in COTG-land.
My question is why? Why are new updates not posted here as well, again considering all this board did for Filsinger Games throughout its history. I am well aware that one can simply log in over there and check these updates out, but in doing so the result is an often-bare discussion forum since there are never any posts from those within the Filsinger Game headquarters. Why not encourage both board's proliferation, especially considering how integral this internet destination was to so many for so long?
Further, after the behavior from many of our community and their role in the fracturing of Filsinger Game's fans, I find it bizarre that there are more lines of communication on thier board than on this one. I am no angel, and do not intend to come off as accusatory, but any one could see the impact of some of Filsinger's most ardent fans as harmful to the community bred by COTG. Hell, my PM is evidence of such potential harm, and this behavior is well documented. By encouraging it through the abandonment of this board, as well as maintaining communication through the new discussion forum from Detroit, it seems that those wihin Filsinger Games are not taking responsibility for their own enabling processes.

And for the record, breaking the whole kayfabe wall and such, I have never attempted to purely post topics or responses that were designed to instigate trouble at their core level.
I do believe in everything I have ever posted on these forums, although the language selected has been intentionally "in character" so to speak. I will argue my points (and have in great detail) fervently, but I am not doing so to simply argue, as these are postions that are valid from my perspective.
I stand behind my posts about Benoit and his legacy, the lack of difference between professional wresting and other media, and the importance of aesthetic properties when determining quality, as well as my posts about COTG-ONline needing a PDF only version (which was seconded by Fed HQ) and the above post about the effects of the official Filsinger board harming the effectiveness of this internet destination.
There have been many trolls on this board, but I have purposefully avoided any discussion that was designed to only rile up those that disagree. Although, if we were debating these points, I have again purposefully attempted to argue my postion from an "in-character" perspective.

Awesome. I'm a enabler. I've always wanted to enable something. Sorry, Hegemony. Not a shot at you at all. That was for Havoc, who apparently misses Feisty BDS. I don't ever remember being feisty, but whatever works for Havoc works for me. Anyway, I'll throw my quasi-official two cents in here. I'd like to see one of two things: either updates made only at the official boards or updates made at every community board, not just select ones. Given my choice, as I am with COTGonline updates, I'd go the first route, but I'm just one cog in a larger wheel. I think it's easier for staffers to only make official comments in one place, because that's fewer places they have to check to respond to the community. I think a setup like that would serve everyone best, both company and clients, as far as the distribution of information goes. That's got nothing to do with wanting to isolate any particular group and everything to do with wanting to see information communicated from Fed HQ as efficiently as possible. Havoc sucks. |

OK, I'm gonna agree with Havoc... twice today... I suspect this is a sign of the apocalypse and that due to this, the Cubs may indeed win the World Series. FG NEEDED an official board... love or hate this place, it was not (even back before the split) totally family friendly, nor would I want it so. An official forum has to be G rated, and is there not to foster community, but to help inform people about (and therefore sell) the product. Since I like the game, and would like sets to continue being made... I intend to keep my discussion about it on the official board for that purpose, I always felt kinda dumb posting the same thing on different boards. That being said, I think it's the height of irony that Swarm makes a board because he doesn't like rules, then had twice as many mods as he, with a third of the posters, and deletes any post that he doesn't agree with... its FAR more oppressive there than Chris on his grumpiest day ever way. I greatly miss the fun Wrestling and Sports discussion that used to go on here, which was really, IMO, the best part of the board. Perhaps if we all get back to posting a bit more, we can draw back those that are lurking and get the community going again, it would be nice to have a place to have discussions non-necessarily -appropriate-for-children.. and we have this nice board all set up |

When we were talking with Chris about the official board, we wanted to make sure he'd leave this place open for all of the discussion that there'd be no forums for over there.
