Well ive been pretty lazy as of late and it appears no one else has been to shows and given a update. I dont want anyone to think RoH has up and closed. RoH has put on some really fun shows as of late even with there top guy (American Dragon Bryan Danielson) being in Japan at the moment doing his thing in Noah(also a awesome fed for people who dont know). Anyway last month I went to Wrestlemania and RoH was in town putting on the two of the best shows ive ever seen live and remember I was at Wrestlemania!!! Then just yesterday I went to another show here in Chicago. Alright a couple angles you need to know going in
-Age of the Fall(my favorite heel emo kids) Jimmy Jacobs, Tyler Black, the Necro Butcher, Lacey, and whatever other rejects they find in the city they are in are trying to recruit Austin Aries who has been on a huge losing streak just coming out from big losses to both the NRC and his former lackey Eric Stevens.
-Nigel McGuiness has captured the RoH World title from Morishima and has been injured(legit) so has canceled a couple of title matches. This makes the super smarky RoH fans turn on there former hero and makes Nigel a new bitter(and better) heel Champion.
-The Briscoes have been at war with the Age of the Fall ever since Jay was hung upside down and lost the tag belts to AOTF who then lost them quickly to...
-The No Remorse Corp (Roderick Strong FIP world Champion, Davey Richards and Rocky Romero RoH World tag team Champions) who have been back and fourth with Aries, Eric Stevens and pretty much anyone who has got in there way. You can bet even money on the NRC most of the time.
-Steenerico(Kevin Steen and El Generico) are awesome!
-The Vulture Squad of Jack Evans, Ruckus, and Jigsaw are leaderless with Jack being kicked in the face and need to step it up.

-Sweet and Sour Inc.(Chris Hero, Larry Sweeney, Bobby Dempsey, and Tank Toland) have made a play for power and are trying to take over RoH by buying up everyones contracts. There first acquisition being...
-The Hangmen 3(Adam Pearce, BJ Whitmer, and Brent Albright) Whitmer then quits RoH and Albright is unhappy with this new move.
-Delirious who pretty much won his feud with the Hangmen is still crazy.
-Japanese wrestlers are coming and going like hotcakes. The big deal for Mania weekend was Dragongate coming led by Cima
Now watch these and you will be caught up somewhat
Intro to Dragongate and at the end of this vid they are in FIP(RoH's sister promotion in Florida which always looks kinda crappy!)
Ok now here is where I landed in Florida and went to the three best nights of Wrestling ive ever seen.
Night 1 DragonGate Challenge II
This crowd was red hot for wrestling in the worst way. It didnt matter what happened this crowd would pop huge but lucky for them they were in for a treat.
-The night started with RoH World Champ Nigel McGuinness and Delirious putting on a exhibition match with both doing there thing. Delirious bringing the funny and Nigel with the pure wrestling style that brought him to the dance. Nigel wins with his London Dungeon armbreaker camel clutch.
-Ruckus & Jigsaw of The Vulture Squad vs Kenny King & Sal Rinauro of The YRR. The YRR are FIPs resident rich kids who do alright in the Florida promotion but are RoHs resident jobbers. Jiggy put them away if I remember correctly when they used a double stomp dvd combo move.
-1st of the DG Challenge matches-Austin Aries vs Genki Horiguchi was a fun fast paced match that saw Aries get the win after he used his Horns of Aries(reverse sickle hold) for a submission.
RoH 1- DG 0
This is where the AotF theatrics kick in with Jacobs and Lacey trying to recruit Aries again promising him that they could guarantee a victory in his next match on the following night(Wolrd title match against Nigel) if he joined. Lacey comes onto Aries and then Sunny(old WWF diva shows up) and tries to recruit Aries as well. Aries just walks out.
-Kevin Steen & El Generico vs Speed Muscle(Masato Yoshino & Naruki Doi) had the match of night in my opinion when these two teams killed each other but it was a Package Piledriver to Brainbuster combo that won the match for Steenerico. Great showing.
RoH 2- DG 0
-AotF(Jimmy Jacobs and Tyler Black) vs Shingo and BxB Hulk in another amazing matchup Shingo and Hulk(who was making his RoH debut) tore down the house. Hulk used his stiff kick crazy acrobatic style while Shingo stuck with his small guy with huge power house arsenal to defeat AotF in a great macth up.
RoH 2-DG 1
- Jay & Mark Briscoe vs Dragon Kid & Ryo Saito was another crowd pleaser that started with a bit of comedy from Kid but picked up when the Briscoes decided they would kill Kid with every move in the book for another big win for RoH's most over tag team.
RoH 3- DG 1
Now the NRC came out for the main event of the night but SNS Inc. followed them to try and assimilate them into SNS Inc. but Roddy would not have any of it and told Sweeny to take a hike.
NRC(Roderick Strong, Rocky Romero, and Davey Richards) vs Team Noah, RoH, DG(Go Shiozaki, Erick Stevens, and Cima) in most six man matches I would go NRC but they were against f'ing Cima and it was a no contest when he hit the Schwein on Roderick in another crazy six man tag.
RoH 3- DG 2(because Cima is Mr. DG and Stevens doesnt pull enough weight to be the leader of this team)
All in all a great night of matches with RoH coming out on top 3-2
Night 2 Supercard of Honor 3
Now I was most excited about this card ever since last years Supercard with me thinking how could they top last years. I dont know if they topped it but it was damn close.
-Go Shiozaki vs Delirious was another fun comedy match that saw little Koboshi defeat Delirious with his Go Flasher(Stalling suplex into a elbow drop)
-Kenny King & Sal Rinauro & Chasyn Rance of the YRR vs Bushwhacker Luke & Dingo & Alex “Sugarfoot” Payne in comedy match number two with crazy ex WWF star Luke of Luke and Butch doing his Bushwhacker antics to the crowds delight. In the end the resident rich kids got the win but I dont care to remember how.
- ROH Tag Team Championships:NRC of Davey Richards & Rocky Romero (chs) vs Vulture Squad of Ruckus & Jigsaw was taped for PPV was a really good match that pretty much showcased what both teams do best. NRC with the literally kicking ass and VS with the high flying. The NRC would retain there tag titles after a spiked DR Driver(Davey Richards driver which is a stalling double arm ddt)
After this match the SnS Inc. would come out again to try and recruit the NRC again but Roddy would come back out and tell Sweeney to piss off. This led to Eric Stevens to come out and attack his hated rival Roderick Strong
-FIP Championship match- Roderick Strong(ch) vs Eric Stevens never even started because the ref took a 10 minute bump and both of these men just bled to death. Eventually the NRC came back and teamed up on the friendless Stevens and shaved off his wicked bad mohawk. Great brawl but no contest.
-AOTF of Jimmy Jacobs & Tyler Black vs Jay & Mark Briscoe (relaxed rules which means maybe they will dq you if you hit the ref maybe) Anyway the AOTF/Briscoe war really escalated here with crazy tag spots and Mark jumping off the balcony onto AOTF newest member.(poor wheelchair bound homeless guy who they found outside) Remember AotF will recruit anyone who will follow them and this guy was a jerk anyway so I say go Briscoes. This match was crazy and I cant wait for this dvd release because it really was like two matches going on with the Briscoes/AOTF fighting outside of the ring all over the arena. In the end it was the Briscoes hitting Jimmy Jacobs with there spring board Doomsday Device and getting... wait Jimmy Jacobs caught Mark Briscoe mid-air with his front choke and rolled with the clothesline to get the submission victory!!! WTF..Most awesome spot ive seen live in a while. AOTF continues to dominate the Briscoes. Match of the night so far
Intermission
-BxB Hulk & Shingo vs El Generico & Kevin Steen this match was all over the place awesome. Steenerico are hilarious, Shingo is always good times and BxB Hulk did his dance entrance without his ring girls(he usually has about 4-6 hotties escort him to the ring and dance) and still got a standing ovation. This match just combined all the awesome of the first night and rolled it into one match and but it was Hulk and Shingo that got the win when Shingo used his Last Falconry(a death valley driver into a sitout powerbo.. oh what hell)
on Generico for the win.
-ROH World Championship: Nigel McGuinness (ch) vs Austin Aries in what was a toss up for match of the night when these guys killed each other. I was in the fourth row and Nigel lariated Aries into my lap and everyone around me thought he was legit dead. His head bounced off a chair and onto the cement. Nigel tried to pick him up and he was limp. I was like "he's fucking dead" but I digress Nigel and Aries had tons of near falls and submission attempts but it was Nigel who used his Jawbreaker Lariat to get the win.
Oh yeah I almost forgot the AOTF came out again and this time they gave Aries Lacey to join. Aries leaves with Lacey. He didnt get the belt but I think he had a happy ending anyway.
Ok time for the SCoH 3 main event and what everyone was waiting for. The 3rd annual DragonGate Six man match.
-Muscle Outlaws of Naruki Doi & Masato Yoshino & Genki Horiguchi vs Typhoon of CIMA & Dragon Kid & Ryo Saito in a crazy ass six man spot fest that saw the Outlaws defeat Typhoon after Doi pinned Kid. I couldnt do this match justice. Buy the damn dvd and watch for yourself when it comes out.
Heres a preview
Whats that you say late breaking news
The Briscoes defeated the NRC to win the tag titles and Claudio Castagnoli and Chris Hero are back from Japan. Would you like to no more?
Also the Murder City Machine Guns return to RoH to challenge the AotF and have a rematch with the Briscoes!!!
Now you are pretty much caught up with RoH up until now and lucky you I went to a show yesterday. It was no Supercard of Honor but it was a damn fine show none the less.
heres fridays results from Detroit as taken from the RoH board and after that I will tell you what happened yesterday.
1) "Unreal" Mike Elgin, Danny Daniels, Mike Nakazawa vs Mitch Franklin, Pelle Primeau, Ernie Osiris. Pelle pins Elgin to get his team the win.
2) Rhett Titus vs Silas Young. Adam Pearce is not in the building. Young beats Titus.
3) "Shatterd Rockstar" Joey Matthews vs Jigsaw. Jigsaw d. Matthews.
4) Nigel McGuinness & Claudio Castagnoli vs. Kevin Steen & El Generico. Claudio pins Generico after Ricola Bomb. Claudio holds up ROH title afterwards and a staredown ensues between Nigel and Claudio.
5) Necro Butcher vs. Delirious - Falls Count Anywhere. Necro defeats Delirious!
6) Jack Evans & Ruckus vs. Brent Albright & Chris Hero. Hero has new theme. Ruckus pins Hero after hitting a top rope twisty move. Sweeney argued with Albright after the match, Brent threatened to hit him but pulls back and leaves.
7) Jay & Mark Briscoe vs. Kota Ibushi & Austin Aries. Awesome tag match. Briscoes win after spike jaydriller on Ibushi. Place went nuts. Ibushi is awesome.
- Prazak comes out to ask Aries about what happened with Lacey. Austin doesn't answer as Lacey comes out. They make out then leave.
8) Jimmy Jacobs & Tyler Black vs. Alex Shelley & Chris Sabin. Good match so far. Shelley way over, has broken out the skullf*ck. Brawling in the crowd. Shelley taps to Jacobs' End Times.
And now on to Chicago
The crowd was about standard for a Chicago Ridge show maybe around 900 people who knows.
Pre-Show was Danny Daniels and Rhett Titus v Trik Davis and Ernie Osiris with Daniels and Titus winning but who cares?
Main Show
-Silas Young v Austin Aries was a pretty good opener but who thought Aries could lose this one? Aries wins with a Horns of Aries for a submission in a good little match.
After the match Jacobs came out to tell Aries welcome to the AOTF and Aries pretty much told Jacobs that he nailed Lacey and to stay out of he and Lacey's business. This is big because Jimmy spent the llast year and a half chasing and acquiring Lacey. After he got her he threw her aside and now Austin says he's taking her and theres nothing his emo hair can do about it.
-Sugarfoot v Mitch Franklin another who cares until it changes when Jimmy comes back out and sicks Necro on the poor kids.
-Sugerfoot and Mitch Franklin vs Necro Butcher in a no-dq match. You all no the out come. Necro kills the jobbers with barbwire and chairs.
-Claudio Castagnoli & Pelle Primeau vs Brent Albright & Adam Pearce was a Pelle beatdown until Claudio gets the hot tag and hits Brent with his Ricolabomb(crossarm sitout powerbomb)who was mistakingly hit with Pearces secret suitcase. Fun match
-Shimmer 4Way-Daizee Haze vs. Lacey vs. MsChif vs. Ashley Lane was also not a bad match when MsChif gets the win over Ashley Lane.
After the match Jimmy Jacobs(man this guy wont stop) is back out to question Lacey and Aries comes out. Lacey goes with Aries while Jimmy sits in the ring and cries!! What makes it even better it the crowd throws streamers. I cant make this stuff up.
-Delirous vs. Chris Hero with Larry Sweeney another ho-hum match up saw Hero beat Delirious with a roaring elbow. I hoped for more from this match but it was what it was. Hero is even more hell like I think he has turned Super Villain as opposed to stupid chicken shit Hero.
- The Rematch One Year In The Making- Non Title:
Jay & Mark Briscoe vs. Alex Shelley & Chris Sabin had the match of the night to know ones surprise when every spot imaginable was used but it was a Shelly top rope slice bread #2 onto Mark I do believe that got the win. Just before this Jay took a top rope german suplex from Sabin. Crazy stuff. After the match Shelly said it was one to one in there series of matches.
Jimmy come out again and this time the whole age of the fall joins in and they injure Mark by stabbing his arm with Jacobs cane spike. It was legit because Mark ran to the back. Jimmy then starts stabbin himself. Emo kid in full effect.
Intermission
-El Generico v Kota Ibushi starts off pretty slow and then out of nowhere kicks you in the jimmy. Stiff kicks and crazy high flying antics end when Ibushi hits a top rope reverse rana and then goes to the other turnbuckle and does a f'ning Phonix Splash to the middle of the ring i mean far middle!!!
Phoenix Splash
-Six Man Tag Team Match:
Vulture Squad of the returning Jack Evans, Ruckus & Jigsaw vs. AOTF Jimmy Jacobs, Tyler Black & Joey Matthews but Jimmy is replaced by newest AOTF member...Zack Gowen. Oh come f'ing on! I hate Gowen... Anyway a fun spotty match saw all members involved do there thing even Gowen doing a spring board leg drop was kinda neat. In the end it was Tyler Black(this kid is a stud he's got gold in his future for sure) hitting Jack Evans with His Small Package Driver for the win. After the match Jimmy calls out Aries again and this time wants him to tell him he "Broke his heart". Funny stuff but Aries attacks Jimmy and the rest of the AOTF sans Necro come out and put a whooping on Aries. They are gonna stab him but Lacey stops them. Jacobs is gonna kill Aries I can sense it.
-ROH World Title Match:
Nigel McGuinness(ch) vs. Kevin Steen
-Another fun match that was stiff as hell but the one bad thing about RoH shows I will admit to is by the end of the night you are exhausted from the 3 and a half sometimes 4 hour plus marathons that no matter what they do in the main event you are like "man that was neat". Well a good match saw McGuinness hit his McLariat to get the win and retain. Next in line I do believe is double C Claudio Castagnoli.
All the shows were really fun and next time they are near you I recommend checking it out. Sometimes they start slow but I do believe you will see something you like throughout the night.
Let me know what you thought please...
