Are there people here planning to make MMA versions of their bootlegs or create new bootlegs for this upcoming game?

I think part of it will depend on when Turkish and company put forward the make-your-own-POW coda. Some of the rules we obviously can already figure out from what we've seen, (i.e All three charts must be used and must appear on the appropriate level of offense, there must be a KO/SUB on both level one and level three defense, etc), but I'm going to wait for the POW team to put forth a bible before trying to make bootlegs.

I plan on converting some of the original GWF characters into MMA guys once I get the new rules though likely that won't be till January.

Turkish has already done a couple GWF guys and "real" MMA fighters with the system. It's not going to be as complicated as the wrestling card system, since the (c), (ch), (ag) and (pw) don't exist in the MMA cards. So I think most folks will be able to pick up on it pretty quickly once they get a feel for it all. As such, there will be no "bible."

That sounds very good. I can't wait to try the game out with the included cards. If it plays as well as it seems like it will, then I'll look forward to bringing some fresh meat to the fray.

One other thing that might be handy, since a bible of rules for making cards won't be necessary. Does anyone have or know where can be found a list of MMA strikes, clinches and grapples? I've been watching wrestling for nearly 50 years and I know those moves, but I'm a more recent viewer of MMA and could use the help.

Turkish compiled a bunch of moves for making the offenses on our cards. Maybe he can help you out. Like you, I needed some guidance in various types of moves out there.

Should I try to contact him? Good luck, the guy's coming to my wedding and I can't even get an answer from him. ;D I kid. Turkish is a great guy, I'm sure he'd be happy to help as much as time and circumstances allow.

I've been watching wrestling for nearly 50 years and I know those moves, but I'm a more recent viewer of MMA and could use the help. I used wikipedia quite a bit, especially for the strikes. I have been involved with different martial arts for the last decade or so, so I got most of those, like the submissions and throws, from personal experience. I used the Japanese names for the moves in some cases, and others, I changed or modified some English translations because I felt like I was writing the same thing (for example, I would write "hip sweep" instead of "sweeping hip throw" or "harai goshi"). There are tons of videos, from demonstrations and instructional videos to actual competitions, online for just about every move. Our plan is to include an online throw/ hold/lock encyclopedia, so that if you do not know what an uchi mata or harai goshi is, you can click a link, and you will see one executed. Or you can do what most of us do and interpret a move as you see fit.

Particularly the Submission Technique section which has short video overviews on the most high probability subs. Stand up striking (mostly Muay Thai and Western Boxing) clinch work and transitional groundwork is also covered fairly extensively. There are also sections on individual arts. The Documentary section has longer material that goes into more comprehensive detail...but may not be practical pending how much time you want to invest.

Are there people here planning to make MMA versions of their bootlegs or create new bootlegs for this upcoming game? I don't know about MMA-ifying any of my bootlegs, but I do intend to make MMA cards for a few guys in my CPC who aren't officially in the CPC, Morbid, Necros, Slegend, Nightmare Niki, maybe Bust-Up and one other guy that just might surprise you. Of course I don't know if it would be OK to post those "MMA Remixes" here, but if I can I would.

Hey Vidtek, would you mind sending me your stats for MMA Nikki? I'd love to see them.

Well I'm still waiting on Kris to put the set in my account, but as soon as I get it and do the convert (very high on my list) I will shoot it your way.
