This question came up during a night of poker with some friends last night. Tim Duncan currently has four championships, and Tom Brady has three and is working on his fourth.

I'm gonna say Duncan, as long as the Spurs can stay relatively intact (and providing he stays there, too).

Tough call... Brady will like be even after this season....
but Basketball players generally have longer careers, and the Spurs are still the team to beat.
OTOH, I'm hoping for the beginnings of a new Celtics run, so I'll have to take Brady/

great debate.. I went with Duncan because I feel he can have a longer career and thus more chances.

Tough call, but I have to side with the longevity issue and take Duncan over Brady.

Good question, I went with Brady.
So far Brady is the only of the two to win back to back championships.

Duncan, and it's not even close.

Duncan, and it's not even close. Can you explain why you think it's Duncan and "it's not even close?" Brady is a little younger than Duncan and if his Patriots, as widely expected, defeat the Giants than he just tied Duncan for the number of championships won. I think Chewey asked a good question with this poll.

Brady. Hell he might win three in a row starting in two weeks. The Colts will be rebuilding, Jax will never be good enough and after that there is only The Chargers, who look good as hell and may be the only real competition for the Pats in the next three years.
Brady is the man.

I went Duncan just because its easier to repeat or 3-peat in basketball and even though the spurs haven't they still would have an easier time in the nba. I wouldn't be shocked to see them both end up with about 6 each.

This poll just got a hell of a lot more interesting...
