It's possible I missed something; but it looks like the largest margin of Victory for a Division champ is the 1985 Chicago Bears. They finished a whopping seven games ahead of second Place Green Bay. Currently New England holds a five victory lead over Buffalo and the Jets. Will the patriots win the division by more than 7 games?
I say yes, and not only will they win the division by more than seven games; they'll win it by 9 or 10 games.
1985 NFC Central Division Final standings Chicago 15-1 Green Bay 8-8 Minnesota 7-9 Detroit 7-9 Tampa Bay 2-14
2007 AFC East division Standing week 6 New England 6-0 Buffalo 1-4 New York Jets 1-5 Miami 0-6

I think only the Jets have a realistic chance of getting in under that number, but I don't think it'll happen. I say 8 at least.

I'll be shock if its not more... Miami could easily go 0-16.. I can't see them winning more than 2-3 games. The Jets are in complete turmoil atm... unless Pennington REALLY turns it around very fast, I can't see the Jets winning more than 4-5 games... Buffalo is, IMO the only team that has any chance of even sniffing 8-8, and that's a long shot.. they're really a young team. That said, even IF Buffalo or NY get to 8-8.. if the Pats go undefeated they'll still win by 8 games
