Went to Shimmer last night. Spoilers

Wow what a great show. My co-worker who I took to the RoH ppv has been hooked on this stuff since I introduced him to RoH. I just thought he loved woman in tights(who doesnt?) but he bought tickets and I went with. We were thrid row and could have been closer if we goth there a little earlier. Only 1st row was reserved. They taped two dvds in one night so it was a 5hour show. ;D
The only thing that was kinda weird was the show had half RoH fans and half creepy old dudes with presents for the girls. One old guy was wearing a purple button up shirt and leather pants. Another funny moment was when the these two guys probably about forty stumbled in with there dates and decided to heckle the matches like we were in Tenn. in the 80's. It was obvious they weren't wrestling fans because most of the yelling had nothing to do with the matches and just how the girls looked. If you have never been to a RoH or Shimmer show you know the smarks are pretty respectful of the female talent and only critical on the workrate.

I just lifted these from the RoH board because I didnt know all of the girls names. Anyway Ill put input where I see fit.


Volume 15
-Eden Black defeated Amber O'Neal via submission Amber O'Neil is pretty funny with her blonde is better routine.
-Portia Perez(real cutie) & Nicole Matthews over Ashley Lane & Lorelei Lee
-Jetta over Serena Deeb(Jetta was awesome she was a British heel who was just a brat and gave the crowd the bad mouth every couple of minutes.
-Allison Danger over Cindy Rogers(Dangers pretty funny and really over with the crowd)
-Minnesota Home-wrecking Crew over Ariel & Josie after a double unprettier. I love Lacey and Rain because they are just funny to me. Everytime Rain does something on offense she gives a over the top yell like.OHH YEAH in a bad macho man voice.
-Cheerleader Melissa over Alexa Thatcher; good match, Melissa wins with a SICK Vertibreaker. Now I came to see Sara Del Rey but fell in love with Cheerleader Melissa. She was great. Good technical skills, she was a evil brunette cheerleader that wears dark colors, and uses the CopKiller as a finisher. Whats not to love. Alexa Thatcher was pretty hot too but just got murdered in this match.
-The Experience over MsChif & Daffney They are a rugged old team that just beat the snot out of young faces. Daffney was destroyed but MsChif was good as always. I was hoping MsChif would use some poison mist but not tonight.
-"Dark Angel" Sarah Stock over Daizee Haze; excellent lucha-style match. Really good match and I dont even like Daizee Haze but they both brought the goods.
-Sara Del Rey vs Amazing Kong(if you dont know who Kong is imagine a female 350lb black Vader in a Spartan outfit): Now this is the match that I came to see and it delivered. Also pretty funny was a guy made a cardboard cutout of alot of the girls and Kong was one of them and Del Rey punched it so hard that it bent and she punched the guys friend in the face. That emo kid was shocked but anyways back to the show. They went through the wresting text book. Del Rey was a technical master as usual. Kong brawled with Del Rey outside the ring and used that sign on Del Rey. they went at it for like 20 minutes and then it got insane. Del Rey hit Kong with a german suplex! Kong hit Del Rey with the Kitchen sink and then Del Rey hit her Royal Butterfly Submission(for like 20 secs) and then suplexed her!!! The crowd went nuts. After this there was a double 10 count that only Del Rey answered and retained the Shimmer World Title. Awesome

After this I thought it was time to go home but nope there was a half hour intermission where most of the girls came out and did autographs and just chatted with fans. They also announced the next shows double main event.

Volume 16
-Lorelei Lee over Amber O'Neal good match
-Ariel & Josie over Portia Perez & Nicole Matthews(starting to get tired)
-Alexa Thatcher over Ashley Lane(Alexa managed to get hotter with a wardrobe change)
-Cindy Rogers over Daffney(Cindy's nickname was the Definition of Technician lol)
-The Experience over Allison Danger & Serena Deeb
-MsChif, Daizee Haze & Eden Black over Lacey, Rain & Jetta(the Home Wrecking Crew drew pre-match out about 15 minutes with comedy before the crowd started giving them heat. I thought it was great)
-Amazing Kong over Cheerleader Melissa: I still dont know which match I liked better this one or the first main event. Melissa hit a top rope moonsault on a standing Kong which kinda turned into a moonsaulting headbutt. Melissa tried her CopKiller (probably inspired by Del Rey's superhuman act earlier in the night) to no avail and paid for it with a sick powerbomb and 2nd rope splash that was stiff as hell!
-Sara Del Rey over "Dark Angel" Sarah Stock two falls to one in a best-of-three falls match to retain the Shimmer Championship
Awesome there was dueling Sara chants!
1st- Del Rey killed the Dark Angel with a super stiff german suplex. I mean skull to mat stiff.
2nd- Angel got a nice roll-up to get the 2nd fall.
3rd- the Death Rey came through after a nice wrestling exchange and hooked a schoolboy to get the win. Great match.

Really great night of wrestling and I am glad my buddy dragged me out to see this. I was a bit iffy because all I really wanted to see was Del Rey/Kong but the ticket was free and the show was great. I also didnt want to burn out my Wrestling fever with last week going to No Mercy and in 3 weeks going to New York to see Misawa. I wish I would have brought money with me because after the show the girls went to a pizza pub and had a after party that everyone was invited too. Oh well next time I will have several beers with the wrestling Cheerleader of my dreams.

That is a visual I have to see. As already metioned, Amazing Kong is like the women's equivalent of Vader in his prime. But then again, Del Ray is a tall woman so it might not be as surprising that she's able to suplex Kong. But locking in the Royal Butterfly while lifting your opponent off of her feet on a woman that big sounds like an incredible piece of strength.

Dude have you ever heard a show your t*t$ on a RoH show? Plenty of fans dont like womens wrestling but will give credit where credit is due. You will get a boring chant before anything else.

They both took crap for being heels and come on Lacey whole gimmick was that she was sleeping with people to make them stay with her (i.e. Colt Cabana) and Haze was apart of the Embassy who's not gonna crap all over her. Im not saying they dont get any negative crowd(i.e shes a crack...) reaction but if there is hard hitting womans match there will be respect given. Your always gonna get a cheap shot in on a heel if there is some heat.

Just noticed this! Yes, yes I have. I don't know why you're bragging about the ROH crowd. Seriously, they're notorious for having a ton of people just trying to get themselves over. Smarky assholes. Shimmer is cool with me, though... not a fan of women's wrestling, but I like a lot of the personalities there.

Well I havent watched it since the start but from what ive seen on dvd and the shows ive been too live the smarks have been pretty fair with the ladies. Ive never said smarks werent a$*/*^%$# but that they have given credit where credit was due. There is always some jerks no matter what. Jeez I wasnt trying to start a flame war. Maybe its just in Chicago I dont know but I have taken different people on separate occasions to RoH shows and they were taken by surprise by the overall positive reactions of the crowds towards the women.

Best laugh I ever had at an ROH show was when Nigel McGuiness called Lacey a "slag".

The crowd was merciless to her from that point, and she played it up big time.

This was pretty funny. Rain brought goggles to combat MsChif's poison mist.
