I've never seen Ring of Honor before and I really don't know if I will like it or not, but today on my paid 2 hour break at work I ordered my ticket to see Ring of Honor at their show here in Las Vegas next month. Since it's coming to my home town, I decided to give it a chance, but since I'm a strong WWE fan I'll have to record Smackdown on my DVD player/recorder because the show is on a Friday night.
Ring of Honor's show is on The Strip (one of my favorite places in the entire world) just north of MGM Grand so I know I'll have fun that night even if Ring of Honor turns out to be a type of wrestling I don't like too much. Hopefully I will like it, but if not I only spent $30.

Don't be so sure. It's not for everyone.

Don't be so sure. It's not for everyone. I know Mr. Vegas, and I know he won't hate on something for not having a million-dollar production value. Mr. Vegas will have a good time. Being open-minded and willing to enjoy something goes a long way towards digging ROH.

Being open-minded and willing to enjoy something goes a long way towards digging ROH. I didn't hate on it for not having a big budget. I hated on it because the promo was poor. I understand their were other things I didn't understand but the promo itself on its own was subpar. I never ripped on Necco Wafer. I just called him Necco Wafer because it humored me. I came in posting about wanting to get into ROH but was simply told "It's not for everybody." That's a splendid marketing campaign. ROH - "It's not for everybody!!"It's not as catchy as - "TNA - It's Craptastic!!!!"but it'll do. I wanted reasons to watch ROH but since I declared that the promo sucked and that I thought, in my brief glimpses of the fat Asian guy who drops people on their heads, was that he sucked, so I'm just brushed aside. This may be because I've made fun of ROH in the past. That was just to harrass Knapik. Man up!! Some day soon I'll order some DVD's to check things out. Hopefully they don't stiff me like they did Swarm.

It's not a marketing campaign, it's a fact. If you see the Age of the Fall thing with no idea who the people are, you won't get it. If you see that and say "Wow, ROH sucks" you're not going into it with an open mind. I understand if someone wouldn't like ROH for other reasons (production value for one), but Jacobs is one of the best promo guys in the BUSINESS and his promo and his group make awesome sense in the context of the last year and a half of Ring of Honor. It's all led to this.
Talking to you and hearing what you've had to say on Ring of Honor, I don't think you'd be into it. I don't think it would be your thing. Doesn't make you less of a person in my eyes, just means it's not for you. It's not a mainstream wrestling show, and it's not for everyone IMO.
I know you're not so gullible, dude. Don't bring up something you know not to be true as an example of anything. (edit - unless you said that as a joke... Ive never seen him say that on here haha)

It's all led to this. I understand that the angle makes sense, the group may make sense, the promo itself may make sense. But it was poorly delivered. I don't know what business Jacobs is in but if he was one of the best promo guys in the WRESTLING BUSINESS, he's be seen on Monday or Fridays where it's all about the promo. It's not a joke. I asked him how he liked the ROH stuff he ordered and he said he didn't get it. Not that he didn't "get it" but that he actually did not received the DVD's he ordered. PS- Most of my making fun of ROH up until this promo was just to give you a hard time. If I watched them, I'd probably dig the Briscoes.

No, he wouldn't, because he's about 2'9". Mondays and Fridays are about being 6'5" and jacked to the gills. Having promo skills on top of that is just a bonus.

I believe they're doing a tournament called Survival of the Fittest. They run a series of singles matches and all the winners go on to the final match, which would be like a 6 man elimination match. I think Delirious beat Bryan Danielson in the final match last year

I look forward to seeing what happens here on The Strip (hey , if you make The Strip here in Nevada- that is awesome!)! Athough next weekend I'm taking my girl to see The Producers at The Paris, I never get tired of seeing something awesome like (possibly- if what you guys say is true) ROH on The Strip! Mr. Vegas

DUDE! You're gonna have so much fun haha That's cool. If ROH is smart enough to make Las Vegas one of its main venues then I am absolutely sure I will be one of ROH's biggest supporters on this board despite what its budget is (although I will still always like the WWE as I have for over 20 years).

I'm a WWE fan too, dude. I hope ROH expands nationally and makes Texas a stop too. Knapik likes the WWE= I respect. Knapik likes the Sonics= I respect. So if Knapik, who obvioulsy has good taste, really likes ROH like I get the impression that he does, I think my $30 is obviously well spent.
