This was probably the most exhausting show ive ever been too. This was a marathon at nearly 5 hours but man was it entertaining.
At about 7:30 they started with the dark match
DARK MATCH
Ernie Osirus & Silas Young d. Rhett Titus & Bobby Dempsey in a ok opening match. Dempsey came out minus S&S Inc. but man was he over. The crowd loved this guy but still did the job for some reason. Fun open
there was about a 10 minute hiatus between the dark macth and then introduction of the staff then came the goods
PPV
The show started out with a interview with Nigel right after his entrance( he followed Marufuji) and cut a pretty classic face promo about how he was "In it to win it!" huge pop.
-Four corner survival:Nigel McGuinness v. Chris Hero v. Claudio Castagnoli v. Naomichi Marufuji. This match was pretty much as good as you could ever start a show. Everybody got off lots of spots and there was no telling who was gonna pick this win up. The best part was when Marufuji and Double C did dueling Khali face claws to each other while Marufuji stood on the top rope. Awesome smarty pants fun. Everyone tries there best to hate Hero but he always seem to get a huge pop during his RoH matches anyway. Very fun but in the end Nigel killed Claudio with a Jawbreaker Lariet. Awesome
Next they brought out the NRC and Resilience for the series of one on one matches. There was a coin toss with the losing team having to send in there man first. NRC wins the toss. Resilience sends in Matt Cross.
-Matt Cross vs Rocky Romero: Pretty good match with Cross trying to commit suicide several times but it was a good ol kick to the head from Romero to put the NRC up 1-0.
Next Strong played it up like he was going to be the next member to get Aries in the match and it worked. Stupid face
-Austin Aries vs Davey Richards: These guys pulled out alot of stuff but ive just never been a Aries fan but this was a good match. Aries wins with a 450 splash. 1-1
-Eric Stevens vs Roderick Strong: Straight up awesome match. These guys tried to kill each other. Stevens took a top rope backdrop and a top rope Black Tiger Bomb. Strong also busted out a Tiger Driver '91 for the win. Very good match with the NRC winning 2-1
Next was the World Title match! The crow was red hot for this one with Morishima really taking some heel heat.
-RoH World Heavy Weight Championship Takeshi Morishima {C} vs. Bryan Danielson: Dragon was all over Morishima from the starting bell and hit anything you could think of from his arsenal from Dragon Suplexs to submissions. Dragon was a man possessed but Mori was dirty as hell. He killed Dragons face. The crowd was really hot. Just when you think there could not be anymore heat Morishima the Dragon Killer mounted punched Dragon until the ref stopped it. I thought there was going to be a riot. I know everyone wanted to see a title change but I like both the guys and Morishima as the unstoppable monster is just a good story. It will be huge if and when he drops the belt. BIG IF. Short but sweet
Then was the introduction to the Tag Team Ladder War(thats right not match it was announced as a Ladder War)
-RoH World Tag Team Championship Jay & Mark Briscoe {C} vs Kevin Steen & El Generico: There is nothing I can say that could sum this one up other then "please dont die." The two teams fought in the crowd for about 10 minutes to start the match and that was hard to see but once the ladders got involved in was insane. They broke at least 3 ladders before the crazy finish sequence that you have to see so I wont spoil it. Briscoes retain in a crazy match.
After the match was the Debut of Age of the Fall!
-Jimmy Jacobs, Tyler Black and NECRO F'N BUTCHER came out and picked up what was left of the Briscoes and murdered them. Necro had a barbwire glove and just cut the Briscoes to crap. They then hogtied Jay and hung him from where the belts were in the ladder war. This was a awesome site but the crowd was all over Jacobs. Great ppv ending
Intermission
Most people with kids left after the Briscoes died and really how could you top this. I was kinda of surprised of how many people that left with still no real knowledge of what was in the second half of the show. I still understand that it was about 10:45 though and alot of people had long drives ahead. I live in Chicago but Chicago Ridge(a different city where the venue is held) is nowhere near anything. It takes me about 45-1 hour to get there.
Second Half(Dvd bonus matches)
-Mitch Franklin {C} defeats 'Sugarfoot' Alex Payne to retain the Top of the Class Trophy nuff said
-Shimmer match Daizee Haze & Amazing Kong vs Lacey & Sara Del Rey: Awesome debut for Kong with her and Sara giving us a great preview of things to come. Sara hit Kong with a german suplex and Lacey was hot for some reason.Haze got the win over Lacey.
-BJ Whitmer & Brent Albright vs The YRR: BJ and Albright destroyed the YRR and then formed a new faction called Hangman 3(ugh)with Adam Pearce. Oh well I still think they will beat the snot of people regardless of there name. Good stuff but way too tired to really care at this point.
-Tyler Black v. Jack Evans- Started out ok but Necro came in and got the match thrown out. Age of the Fall beat the crap out of Jack and who makes the save... Ruckus...wrong....Irish Airborne...what? Man I really dont like Irish Airborne but whatever more Necro. Garbage impromptu 6-man.
-Age of the Fall vs Jack Evans and Irish Airborne: Jack jumped off of stuff and Necro hit stuff hard. What was really classic was Jacobs wrestled with Jay Briscoes blood dried up all over his gear and face. I mean he had at least a hour and a half since those events happaned to clean up a little but nope. This match got thrown out when Necro top rope backbreakered Evans onto two chairs that were back to back. Evans is dead. Wow between the Briscoes and probably the Vulture squad it looks like the Age of the Fall is gonna be busy for a while.
Matt Sydals final match Main events the night
-Delirious vs Matt Sydal: This was a pretty good match but there was no way the crowd (who was really tired) could stay into it. Really good stuff and they hit lots of great spots but in the end it was Delirious who got the win with a Chemical Imbalance. What was kinda funny to me was Sydal didnt really get the classic RoH send off. His match ended the crowd chanted speech but he just smiled and waved and then left. Oh well I was just going to stay out of respect anyway because I didnt even care what anyone said at that point. 12:20 I went home.
All in all really awesome show. A F'n +
Oh yeah my swag list
