Cena looked just fine in this match. Don't hate!
Danielson is the bomb, though... I'd love to see these two work a match today

I've never seen this match...thanks for sharing. I remember that around this time frame a number of guys out of HBK's system received a look from WWE (Cade, Spanky and London all eventually ascended through the system and to this day have spots). The rub on Danielson was that he was technically sound but needed to work on his look and stage presence. There was legit interest in him but of his own accord he never followed through and chose to take a different path.
Today he still wouldn't have the size or look to be a money fit for WWE other than possibly playing a background hand (generic cruiserweight or tag guy)...which is the role all the Michaels trained guys seem stuck in. To his credit he really does excel in his Indy niche and is very good at what he does. I see a lot of William Regal in him...who was also one of his mentors.
LWPD (Cena's 'fireman pants' gear looks horrible...yet he 'got it' very early and spent a ton of money on his look long before he was a star and probably was able to afford it...from the trunks that matched home town sports teams to a multitude of jersey's and caps...he was determined to make it big and covered every nuance in pursuit of his dream...and in a fairly short period of time all his hard work paid off huge)

It is yet another example of how much dedication Cena has to becoming a star in his chosen field. When he first started doing the "Doctor of Thuganomics" gimmicks, Cena had a Mitchell & Ness for every city he stepped into. I know all about tax deductions, but that shouldn't take away from the fact that he was putting down between three and four hundred dollars on wardrobe for every city he performed in front of. He did the throwback thing for well over a year, probably almost two. At the rate of four jerseys per month, he was getting into Flair money for wardrobe expenses.
