JUNE 8TH

ROH World Title Match
Takeshi Morishima defends vs. Jay Briscoe

I think Morishima beats Jay Briscoe, but I also think it will be an awesome match. We all know what Jay is capable of in the ring and there are few better. It will be interesting to see him up against a powerhouse like Morishima. Morishima via brutal Saito Suplex.

Special Challenge Match
Bryan Danielson vs. Jimmy Rave

Danielson is back, baby, and no one is going to get him down any time soon. I think Danielson wins via KO with elbow strikes to send a message that he's back and meaner than ever.

Grudge Match
Mark Briscoe vs. Kevin Steen

They're really building Steen/Generico vs. The Briscoes! I can't imagine both Briscoes losing on the same night, and Mark is the elder statesman here... Mark via non-botch Shooting Mark Press.

Four Corner Survival
Nigel McGuinness vs. Chris Hero vs. Claudio Castagnoli vs. Mike Quackenbush

I'm sick of seeing Hero and Castagnoli in these! They're always entertaining, though. The Kings of Wrestling have a match against the Briscoes on the 9th, so I say Hero helps Castagnoli win here!

Also scheduled: The No Remorse Corps of Roderick Strong, Davey Richards & Rocky Romero; Delirious; Matt Sydal; El Generico; BJ Whitmer; Daizee Haze plus more to be added!!!

How about Davey or Roderick vs. Whitmer? Probably be a pretty killer match.


JUNE 9TH
Philadelphia, PA

Main Event- Either The ROH World Title or FIP Heavyweight Title Will Be On The Line
Takeshi Morishima vs. Roderick Strong

Interesting, I wonder where they'll go with this. I say the ROH title will be on the line and Morishima wins. If the FiP title is on the line, Strong HAS to win, right? I doubt they put the FiP title up, though.

World Tag Team Title Match- 2 out of 3 Falls
Jay & Mark Briscoe defend vs. Claudio Castagnoli & Chris Hero
We never got to see Hero and Castagnoli go at it after there separation.. well we're not going to have to wait much longer after this! Briscoes kick butt and win and Hero, Sweeney, and Toland beat down Castagnoli after the match! Could set the stage for a summer's worth of feuding! I love all 4 men involved.

Bryan Danielson vs. Matt Sydal

Danielson in a squash. Cattle Mutilation!

Special Challenge Match #2
Nigel McGuiness vs. Larry Sweeney's Mystery Opponent

Crap. who knows? This could be awesome... know how? If the mystery partner is Doug Williams, Nigel's running mate in NOAH and whenever theyre together in ROH. OH PLEASE let this happen! Sweeney would be smart to do so to really get in the head of McGuinness!

Tag Team Action
Kevin Steen & El Generico vs. Mike Quackenbush & Jigsaw

Steen and Generico here on their way to battling The Briscoes. Jigy eats the Brainbustaaaah!!

IMO the 6/8 ROH show may have been the best ROH show in Boston ever. Great crowd heat and solid matches all around!

Roxbury Crossing, Mass.

(1) B.J. Whitmer wrestled Brent Albright to a no contest. Fun, hard-hitting match. Ruled a no contest when B.J. headbutted the ref because he felt there were a few blown calls in the match

(2) Bryan Danielson beat Jimmy Rave. Danielson pulled out some new submission and bloodied up Rave's mouth. The finish came when Rave tapped out to some MMA like elbows

(3) Kevin Steen beat Mark Briscoe. This match to me might have been match of the night and the one that surprised me the most. Lots of great brawling through the crowd and lot of big spots right off the bat. Steen got the win with his finishing piledriver. It sets up Briscoes vs. Steen & Generico for ROH's return to Boston August 10th.

(4) Claudio defeated Hero and Mike Quackenbush and Nigel McGuiness. Real fun match with Quackenbush getting the bulk of the ring time. He has a place in ROH for sure. Claudio and Hero did a lot of double teaming and the end occurred when Claudio pinned Quack after a European uppercut. The winner of the match got a title shot in August for ROH's return.

Intermission.

(5) Eddie Edwards beat Pelle. Nothing to write home about. Edwards picks up the win and got a pretty good reaction from the local crowd.

(6) Matt Sydal beat Generico. Slow going at the start but nice last few minutes. Sydal picked up the win.

(7) Matt Cross & Erick Stevens & Delirious defeated Roderick Strong & Ricky Romero & Davey Richards. Lots of chaos in this and it was pretty clear the ref was letting whatever happen happen. Crowd was really into it and Delirious' team picked up the win.

(8) Morishima defeated Jay Briscoe. Briscoe got in a lot more offense then I expected. Crowd was really into Jay as Boston appears to be in love with the Briscoes. I didn't see this as anything special though.

NOTES: The August 10th date will be Night 1 of Death Before Dishonor... Crowd appeared to be about the usual Boston number but appeared to have a lot more energy...
Claudio vs. Morishima and Briscoes vs. Steen/Generico in a Boston Street Fight were announced for the return. I do like the fact that they are making Boston feel important again by announcing matches ahead of time and at least appearing to be securing a permanent venue...

Steen is great. I totally called Danielson winning with elbows!

Yeah I was surprise by Steen. I have seen a few of his matches and this was the best.

Briscoe/Morishima had great crowd heat but to me it didnt feel like a main event. It was short and good for the most part. I guess knowing Briscoe had no chance kind of took something from the match for me.
