MEGATOURNAMENT 2101
The ultimate three-way dance hit the GWF in 2101, with three competing managers fighting for their GWF careers. With Omega guiding the Hero Team, Morpheus the Villain Team, and a returning Magnus Colby (along with wife Sonora Pelf) heading the independent Colby Pelf Corporation, intensity in the GWF rode high. With the losing manager to be forever banished from the GWF, the stakes were high.
Each team selected 6 single’s stars, 3 tag teams and 1 woman to represent them in the squared circle. Points were earned for defeating MegaTournament opponents and winning and defending GWF title belts.
The official MegaTournament rosters in 2101:
Omega’s Hero Team: Pegasus, Wolf, Colossus, Alpha Force, Raven, Max Shield, GameMasters, New Order, Sam’s Squadron, Amazonia.
Morpheus’ Villain Team: Chaos, Janus, Heracles, Bishop Hell, Monad, Mandrill, Superiority Complex, Generation X, Pillars of Power, Cassandra.
Colby-Pelf Corporation: Matador of M83, Vengeance, Mayhem, Pulsar, Holocaust, Splatter, Gladiators, Mercenaries, Henchmen, Thrash.
Rookie class:
Wraith – Entered the GWF along with partner Vertigo (Genesis Prime) to counteract Mandrill and the Colonizers...developed the ability to turn invisible as a result of the Omnicron Event…Commissioner Grogan limited Wraith to three invisibility attempts per match…Finisher – SUDDEN DEATH (bulldog from top turnbuckle)
Vertigo – Entered the GWF with Wraith (Genesis Prime) to assist in the fight against the Colonizers of Scorpi…served as the informal leader of Team Genesis…despite entering the GWF as an older rookie, he possessed amazing speed due to the Omnicron Event…a tag specialist…Finisher – MOTION SICKNESS (Vertigo grabs opponent’s legs and swings him around rapidly)
Painmaster – Appointed by Mandrill as Chief of Police of Scorpi…teams with Tocsin as the Watchmen of Scorpi…revels in torturing opponents…Finisher – THE TORTURE RACK (Painmaster stands on opponent’s back and bends back their arms)
Tocsin – Appointed by Mandrill as Scorpi’s Surgeon General…smells of toxic waste…Teams with Painmaster as the Watchmen of Scorpi…Featured the first non-finisher tag team only offensive move (Double Team Mallet)…Finisher – HAZARDOUS WASTE (Tocsin put his disgusting hands over his opponent’s face)
Other cards in the 2101 set:
Pegasus – after only wrestling part-time in 2100, the strongman joined Omega’s Champions of the Galaxy in 2101 and jumped right into a feud with Chaos.
Magnus Colby and Sonora Pelf – Magnus Colby made a landmark return to the GWF in 2101, bringing along his bride Sonora Pelf and forming the Colby Pelf Corporation (CPC)
Vengeance – had a Cleansing in 2101
Johnny Rocket – after being associated with KronoScam, Rocket resigned his broadcasting duties and became a trash-talking manager.
Pulsar – missed 2100 due to injuries inflicted by Bishop Hell. Returned with a more vicious style, unveiling an illegal finisher of his own (ACID RAIN.) Left the Titans so as not to degrade their fine tradition with his edgy new tactics.
Mad Jester – Defender of the Realm reverted to his Mad Jester persona in 2101.
New special match:
Castor Chain Match – a brutal contest fought with competitors connected by a 20-foot steel chain
Note: The original GWF Ringside Companion is dated 2101
